EAR file doubt

Dear all,
I am following the "How to Create Modules for the J2EE Adapter Engine (NW7[1].0)_0_.pdf" how to guide and I have a doubt regarding the statement "Make sure that the libraries of the adapter module API are not inside the
generated EAR file, or delete them using WinZip."
What does exactly mean? In my case I have developed a EJB to manage PDF attachment files and after the"build application archive" step I open it with the winzip i see the content as follows:
AdapterModule.jar
aii_af_cci.jar
aii_af_cpa.jar
aii_af_mp.jar
aii_af_ms_api.jar
aii_af_ms_spi.jar
aii_af_svc.jar
aii_msg_runtime.jar
META-INF (Folder)
I am keeping the folder and the AdapterModule.jar, the rest of the .jar files are being deleted.
Is this correct? Do i have to keep any other file?
I was told that the pacth ( the libraries ) were installed so it seems reasonable to do this.
Any comment and help would be more than welcome
Thank you for your time, Sergio

  • Java proxy and EAR file in NDS

    Hi,
    I'm new in java and also proxy development and I need some help
    I have followed the pdf how to create java proxies in 3.0.
    But i have some doubts:
    Must I delete aii*.jar libraries from the EAR create?
    I have no other .jar archive in that .ear... why? I suppose that is not correct and why my EJB module .jar is not included?
    Thanks
    carme,

    Hi, Shabarish
    I have followed the same steps point out in this two blogs.
    I recreated all my EJB project and application.
    The EAR file created only contains:
    guidgenerator.jar
    aii_utilxi_misc.jar
    aii_proxy_xirt.jar
    aii_msg_runtime.jar
    sda-dd.xml
    application-j2ee-engine.xml
    application.xml
    Sap_manifest.mf
    Manifest.mf
    and also a file WITHOUT NAME and size 0.
    That is not correct... right?

  • Two ear file communicating with each other

    HI,
    I have one doubt,
    I Have two ear files (two webservices actually) deployed succesfully in the same application server (Weblogic7.0). Let us say them a.ear and b.ear
    In a.ear there are class say A.class and B.class. In B.java file there is a staic HashMap which stores some object based on some id. Also in B.java there is static method which takes the id as a parameter and return the corrospojnding object stored in the static hasmap.
    In b.ear file there class say B.class and C.class. Note that this ear file has its own copy of B.class file. In C.java file i create an object (though i dont need create being it a static method) of B.java and calls the static object passing it the id and expecting it that it will return me the object stored in the Hashmap. it returns me null though it has the objects stored for that id.
    Is it because both ear files has their own copy of B.class. but i though that that they are running in the same jvm in application server so it should not be a problem. if this is the reason then my problem will be solved if i put them in same ear file.
    Can anybody put his insights into his experiences and lemme know what is the cause of problem and solution and for my knowledge why it is happening.
    Best Regards,
    Akhil Nagpal

    You're right that the two have different copies of the class. This is because the EJB container uses a different classloader for different applications, to prevent statics clashing with each other and other related security reasons.
    Usually if you want to communicate from one to the other, you would use the EJB mechanism itself. The JNDI names should be global (from simple tests I did in the past, this seems to be the case) so that one application can look up an EJB from the other.

  • Error while deploying ear-file to J2EE via NWDS/SDM

    Hi everybody,
    i have a problem deploying an ear-file. I was looking for similar cases in forums, but didn't find anything. My application is developed by jsp/servlets. The deployment aborts with following error-massage:
    Caught exception during application deployment from SAP J2EE Engine's deploy API:
    com.sap.engine.deploy.manager.DeployManagerException: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.DeploymentException: Cannot update archive file Docsndownloads.warcom.sap.engine.services.deploy.ear.exceptions.BaseIOException: Error during replacement of substitution values. Reason: java.io.IOException: Stream closed
    I don't know what the reason could be. The application is running on tomcat. And I can deploy other applications to j2ee with nwds/sdm.
    Maybe somebody had or has the same problem. Or somebody knows the answer for the problem. Please help, points will be regarded. Thanks in advance.

  • Remote creation of MBean deployed in EAR file : loader's ObjectName ??

    I am trying to implement a client which connects to the MBean server
    running in weblogic and then creates an instance of an MBean deployed
    inside an ear file. However, since the class files of the MBean are
    inside the ear file (and NOT in the "serverclasses" directory), it
    looks as if I needed to specify a non-default classloader when calling
    RemoteMBeanServer.createMBean(...).
    --> How can I determine the ObjectName of the correct loader (on

    Atlast it worked. The problem was that in my ejb-jar.xml I was referring to 2_0.dtd. I have changed that to 2.1 and it worked.
    Older ejb-jar.xml had:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "C:/jboss-4.0.1sp1/docs/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">
    I changed that to:
    <ejb-jar xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" version="2.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/ejb-jar_2_1.xsd">
    And it worked.

  • How to change web-app display name within EAR file?

  • EXCEPTION in deploying ear file on weblogic server 11g

    Hi, I am trying to deploy an ear file on the weblogic server 11g(10.3.5) application installed successfully but when i tried to start application to listen service requests its throws exceptions and application state changed from prepared to failed
    I have unchecked the check box Auto generate and synchronize weblogic JDBC descriptors during deployment in application properties under the deployment node. I also have created same jdbc datasource with name Connection1 and JINDI name jdbc/Connection1 on my weblogic server.
    Exceptions that application throwing are.
    Message icon - Error weblogic.common.ResourceException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: weblogic.common.ResourceException: No credential mapper entry found for password indirection user=hr for data source Connection1
    But when I tried to deploy this from jdeveloper deployment console directly on the server it deployed successfully and starts listening requests.
    please give me solution of this problem.

  • How to find the root document in my application, if application is deployed as  EAR file ??

              Hi,
              I want the real path, i mean root document.
              I my EAR file, i have only one WAR file. In my WAR file the following are the
              folders:-
              enterprise/..
              properties/sql/..
              locale/..
              WEB-INF/..
              Once i get the 'real path' or 'root document', I will use that in application
              in no.of times. Path is used in the following way in our application:-
              File emailTemplatesFolder = new File( path + "/enterprise/"+ enterpriseCode+"/EmailTemplates");
              If i use getRealPath() method, it works fine, in use Oracle9ias, because, EAR
              file will be extracted. Where as in Weblogic 6.1, EAR file willn't be extracted,
              so that getRealPath() is giving 'null', that is reason why i am seeking for alternative.
              Thanks in Advance
              Srinivas

    Yes, that is the corrected behaviour.
    What you need to do is to get the ServletContext, and then load the files as resources.
    Here is how to load a properties file in the init() servlet method, which has access to the ServletConfig object that can give u the ServletContext.
    String classesDir = "/WEB-INF/classes";
    ServletContext sc = config.getServletContext();
    InputStram is = sc.getResourceAsStream(classesDir+"default.properties");
    props.load(is);
    Hope it helps,

  • Reading Java files from a EAR file

    I want to read all Java files from a EAR file and from inner (inside EAR) EAR or WAR file with out unpacking.
    suppose "Demo.ear" contaions the following files:
    abc.java
    programs / a.java
    programs / b.java
    src / index.java
    src / com / myFolder / main.java
    src.war
    and suppose "src.war" again contains some java files inside differenet folders.
    The main problem is that i can read all java files from "Demo.ear" but unable to reading from "src.war" b'coz my program is using JarFile class constructor which needs a archive file path, So only top level archive having the path but not the inner archives.
    So, pls help me out to this problems
    Thanks in advance

    Maybe you can use java.util.zip.ZipInputStream to
    open the Ear and recursively to open the files in
    it; I'm not sure whether this will result in a full
    unpacking of the file in some temporary directory,
    though.
    Please let me know if it worked the way you wanted,
    I'm curious about it.This jerk just created the third thread about the same topic, because he didn't understand your suggestion, which I already provided earlier.

    Hi Sumit,
    Option 1). Open Config.xml and delete the Entry for your Shared Library and then Restart the Server.
    Option 2). Use the Following ANT build to undeploy your Application
    http://jaysensharma.wordpress.com/2009/12/19/ant-to-deploy-applications/
    While using this ANT script Just make a small change put library="true"
    <target name=”undeploy”>
    <wldeploy action=”undeploy”
    name=”${deploy.name}”
    failonerror=”false” user=”${wls.username}”

    adminurl=”t3://${wls.hostname}:${wls.port}”
    targets=”${deploy.target}” library="true" />
    </target>
    Option3). Login to AdminConsole---> Deployments -->Customize this table(Click Here) --->Exclude libraries when displaying deployments (UNCHECK) this checkbox

  • How do I convert an war file to ear file, deploying weblogic apps

    Problem Description: I have a war file from a legacy application that needs to be migrated to weblogic. To migrate this application to weblogic, we need a ear file. Reading weblogic doc. it says we needs to use ant utility on an exploded web content application folder/ directory to create the ear file. I need to covert the existing war file to ear file , if it is doable or create one from the scratch. I need to know how to do that in weblogic. Please let me know if you have any hints .
    Thanks

    HI,
    Please try the following to convert your WAR file into an EAR exploded archieve:
    *1).* Create a Directory in your file system.
    Example:
    /home/apps/MyFirstEAR
    *2).* Place the WAR file inside the above Directory. (Suppose your WAR file name is test.war)
    Example:
    /home/apps/MyFirstEAR/test.war
    *3).* Now create a "META-INF" directory inside "/home/apps/MyFirstEAR" directory
    *4).* Now create an "application.xml" file like following inside "/home/apps/MyFirstEAR/META-INF" directory:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <application xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.4">
    <description>Test EAR Example</description>
    <display-name>TestEAR Example</display-name>
    <module>
    <web>
    <web-uri>test.war</web-uri>
    <context-root>test</context-root>
    </web>
    </module>
    </application>
    *5).* Your EAR is ready now you can deploy the "MyFirstEAR" directory in the WebLogic Server.
    NOTE: if you want to place the "test.war" file also as an exploaded format content inside the EAR then you need to extract the test.war file and then in place of the test.war you can have "test" directory at the same place.
    You need to change the "application.xml" file like below in that case:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <application xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.4">
    <description>Test EAR Example</description>
    <display-name>TestEAR Example</display-name>

  • How to create a custom ear file and deploy it onto a freshly created oc4j

    Hi,
    Wanted to know that how should i go about creating a custom EAR file or for that matter any application and deploy it onto a test oc4j instance created within the 10.1.3 Home of Oracle Apps R12.
    I believe in a standalone Application server installation it is quite simple to deploy an application by creating an oc4j instance using the AS console ,but not very sure about how to go about it in Oracle Apps .
    N.B:I have been able to create a test oc4j instance by the name of Test and able to start and stop it using the opmn of 10.1.3 oracle home.
    Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

    Hi,
    can you please post this question to one of the Apps forums if your main concern is to deploy applications in the context of Oracle Apps?
    It seems that you don't have a problem in creating the EAR file in JDev.
