Earbuds Work Fine as Mic or Headphones, But When on a Call They Don't!
I can listen to music fine using the ear buds. I can record my voice using the built in mic on the ear buds. However as soon as I make a call or take a call, I can't hear it ring, I can't hear their voice, and they can't hear me. If I remove the earbud plug and take the call, everything is fine.
This problem originally happened when I was at firmware v2.0. I have upgraded to 2.1. I've bought new ear buds. Nothing has helped.
Anyone know what's going on?

MacBook Pro, late 2011 version. Up to date Mountain Lion.
My email account in the Mail.app is set up as IMAP, but when I delete emails in the Mac Mail App, they are not deleted from the mail clients of the other devices that are connected to the mail server with IMAP. IMAP works perfectly between Windows Outlook 2010, iPad Mail App and Android default mail client. Deleted messages behave correctly, as in delete from one device and the mail is deleted from all devices.
Having just tested in reverse order on the Mac; emails deleted from the email client on Windows, iPad and Android are not deleted in the Mac Mail App. It appears that the account is behaving like POP rather than IMAP.
Any advice on how to have IMAP work correctly on the MacBook Pro Mail.app?

the email account in question was set up in Outlook as POP - stupid, stupid, stupid me, wasted an afternoon on this! I have now changed the Outlook account to IMAP and Mail.app works perfectly - and looks much nicer than Outlook did. Im in the middle of converting from Windows to a Mac, and still finding my way around the Mac
The lesson learned, never assume - always double check! All my other email addresses with 1and1 are all imap, except this one, and it happened to be the first one I set up in the Mail.app. (bows head in disgrace!)

When I upgraded to the 4.0 Firefox, I have been having severe issues w/ Firefox not responding & freezing up. I use the GreaseMonkey add ons w/ it. I am leery about going to the 5.0 as of the problems I am having and that of my friends problems with the 5.0 & GreaseMonkey. I want to go back to the 3.0 Firefox. I need to fix this.
I get the add-on manager start to load up but then it crashes after a few seconds, if I try to click extentions or something else it still has the same effect of the browser crashing! Please help

I am a bit of a novice to apple and need some help. as stated in the header, my laptop is not allowing me to drag songs from my laptop to itunes. I have had itunes on a number of laptops and have never had a problem.
Can someone help?...You can only sync an iPhone to ONE specific computer. Otherwise you'll have the types of problems you're having.

GavThe white borders around your images are created because they're embedded in links. Add the following to your style sheet:

The problem with the table row at the bottom is this:

The colspan attribute takes the number of columns that you're spanning, not a number of pixels. Judging from the rest of the table, it should be colspan="7". -
The sound will no longer come through my headphones on my iPad I've tried several different headsets. The sound works as normal without the headphones but will still not come through the headphones even thoug I have tried to reset it twice. This is the new ipad with retina display and is only 2 months old and otherwise works fine. Please help!
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPad. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Recently, I can't get any sound from my game applications. Sound works fine with video, streaming, etc, but not my game applications. I've tried powering down and re-booting, but the sound does not return. Can anyone help me?
Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). If I give the Input date 1930/10/27 (in english), then program must display the date as S5.10.27 (it's japanese date with 'S' indicating ERA)
But this will happpen only when i run the program in JDK 6.0.
In JDK 1.5, for the above input, the output is 1930/10/27 (which is wrong)
Still I don't have compilation and running problems in both. Can anybody expalin why it is so?

I loaded mozilla 6 on my hp laptop and it was working fine for a few weeks, but now it will not launch at all wheather I clip on the icon or type in the site. there is no message or warning, it just does not start up. I am a long time firefox user.

I'm having problems with 8.1 and Continuity / Handoff. It will work fine for web pages, etc. but in email when I try to do it between by iPhone 5s running 8.1 and my Macbook Pro running Yosemite I consistently get an error. "Failed to Continue Activity" Cocoa Error 4609. Handoff is working for phone calls and text messages. By email just crashes each time. It was also doing it under 8.0.2. My iPhone and iPad handle this fine. It's only the MacBook to the iPhone that fails, and only on email.

my ipod classic got wet back in August.. it seemed to work fine for about a month, but recently is not working at all..screen appeared to get cloudy and then it just stopped working. thanks.
Most likely, water damage.
You can try putting your iPod in a tupperware, half filled (maybe half inch) with rice grains, close the cover for about a week.
If you have done this, as soon as it got wet, higher chances of success, now looks like the water moisture is getting to the LCD screen.
Then you can always bring it to Apple Genius bar, for a an overhaul. (may cost you half the price of a new iPod classic.) -
The iBooks dictionary works fine for my iPhone 5, but it does not work for my iPad 2. Is this fixable?
I went to the Audio store to see about getting a surround sound and the salesperson asked me why I wasn't using AirPlay, he said it was better than the Bluetooth, better quality. So I do have AirPlay on my Sony and I installed the app on my iPhone 5 but they can't find eachother.......when I try looking for my iPhone on my receiver it does not show it. The Sony display works through my TV, the set up screen is there but it says no devices found. Like I said, the Bluetooth finds the iPhone and works ok, but the AirPlay does not.....looking at the manuel it says that the AirPlay will recognize my device (iPhone 5) but it does not..........
