Using Thunderbird and not Mail App

I was wondering which app does a Mac use when opening jpegs, gif's etc in the Mail app ? I want to use Thunderbird as my mail reader, but do not know which app that will allow me to open the same files in TB. I am using OSX 10.5. Thanks in advance.

Mail doesn't use anything special. It does it on its own. I would assume Thunderbird would do the same.
Perhaps there is a preference setting to turn on inline images.

What is wrong please help?

I am really confused. I added spry to a registration form on my site.
I just loved the way it colors boxes and makes the page come alive if you get me.
Sadly this is not the case for me
I basically select my textbox for example then add spry textbox to it, setup the conditions such a minimum fields etc, then make sure the path to the spry folder is correct and upload.
all i get it the text showing next to box saying things such as:
A value is required.Minimum number of characters not met.Exceeded maximum number of characters.
I get this before i even click on the box and enter anything in. It also does not change color of boxes from like red to green etc and show textbox data being valid.
basically everything is the same apart from i get text next to the boxes on my form.
Am i missing something here? it driving me buts. I want it so it something like:

I double checked path to SpryAssets folder and double checked everything uploaded but nothing different happens just what i said above.

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.
