Earlier versions of FF let you right click on a tab to bookmark it. Why is this no longer available. You can only bookmark all tabs :0(

Earlier versions of FireFox let you right click on a tab to bookmark it. You can no longer do this , you have to go to Bookmarks and bookmark page. Bummer :0(

You could always go into the tab and right-click the page, and select 'Bookmark This Page'.
Or alternatively, go into the tab and click on the star on the right end of the navigation bar. Click the star again if you wish to edit your bookmark.
Hope this helps!

    And question is STILL not answered.  WHICH is to be downloaded and used?
    I would like an answer.

    Thank you for the clarification!  It is really kinda circle-speaking to state on an information page to put forth info people need in that manner.  It really does add to the confusion and frustration when you need a simple,
    straight answer, such as you gave, and you dont get one.  Kind of like that . . other... software company....
    This rabbit hole still continues, though.  I'm going to ladder it out, just to see for myself:
    Have: MacBookPro / 2.4 GHz/ Intel Core i5/ running OS X 10.6.3 -
    Need: latest version of Java, so Flash update can be loaded;
                                  (want html5 to be the standard so badly, but client wants Flash)
      Attempted:  Tried to find Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 2 on Apple website.  No Joy.
            Found:   Update 2 is proper update for Mac OS X 10.6.3.  Could not find download on Apple website;
                           - No Joy.
      Attempted:  Tried to find Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 8. Half Joy. Confusing, no straight info.
            Found:   In order to install update for Java, must update OS X from present 10.6.3 to 10.6.8
      Attempted:   Tried to find update to OS X 10.6.3 to 10.6.8. on Apple website.
    how far does the rabbit hole go?

  • FireFox won't let me right click to edit bookmark names

    I recently bought a new computer and downloaded FireFox. When adding my favorite sites to my bookmark, the names are automatically added. They're too long, and I'd like to edit them, however FF isn't letting me right click to edit the name.
    When I right click, it just goes to that bookmark as if I used left-click. The right click on the computer itself works, but not when trying to edit anything in a toolbar.
    Any suggestions?

    You can create a folder with the home pages by using "Bookmark All Tabs" to open a specific page.
    You can place that folder on the bookmarks toolbar or use the Bookmarks menu button that you can find in the toolbar palette to get access to that folder easily.
    * Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    * "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.
    * "Bookmark This Page" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of that browser page.

  • The 'bookmark this page' option is missing if I right click on the tab unlike in previous version. Please bring it back...

    In previous version, it used to be very easy to bookmark a tab. Just right click on the tab and click on 'bookmark this page' and it was done. The current version moved the tab up but the option to bookmark the tab is left out. Please bring it back..

    Just click the star symbol in the address bar to bookmark the current page.

  • Why does the "Move to new window" function that I used to use not work when I right click on the tab anymore?

    It used to be when I right clicked on the tab in Firefox that I could use the "Move to new window" option. Now when I go down to that option it looks as though it is going to work, but nothing happens. The other day I changed a few options in Firefox, but I don't remember changing anything that sounded as though it would have this effect and now I can't find any options that seem to fix it. Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hello Beorn, probably the problem is an extension that isn't working correct.'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
    ''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
    '''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
    ''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    thank you

    Hello.
    It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
    If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
    If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.
    Also, remember that you can simply middle-click any link or interface button to open it in a new tab. Middle-click is the mouse wheel, just press it down. Or the middle button of the mouse, if you have one of those. Of course, there may only be two keys, and middle-click may be impossible, but just so you know, middle-clicking links is the faster way, and how everyone does it, basically.

    The arrow to open the tab history of the Back and Forward buttons has been removed in Firefox 4 and later.
    Use one of these methods to open the tab history list:
    * Right click on the Back or Forward button
    * Hold down the left mouse button on the enabled Back or Forward button until the list opens
    You can look at this extension:

  • Why is there no New Tab option when I right click on a tab?

    When I right click on a tab there should be a "Open New Tab" option.
    Sometimes I have 50 tabs open in a single window and I just want to open a new tab beside the 1st tab. Instead I can only open a new tab at the very end beside the 50th tab.
    Please add this feature as IE has this. Thank you.

  • Don't have "Open New Tab" when I right click an open tab after Firefox 18 upgrade

    I used to be able to right click an open tab and one of the drop down options was to open a new tab. Where did it go?

    You can also use this extension [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firefox-4-ui-fixer/?src=search UI Fixer] that adds back that option,amongst other ones,or this other extension that does just that [https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/addon/new-tab-in-tab-context-menu/ New Tab in Tab Context Menu] .

  • The 'Move to group' option is no longer listed when I right-click on a tab. I hope this is a sick joke & will be fixed quickly.

    Before the latest update, I could always right-click on a tab and move it to a group in the Panorama feature. In Firefox 10.0.2, the option to move a tab to a group is gone.
    Please fix this quickly. This has to be a lame-ass joke by some developer.

    Hi TBolt,
    I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] as this feature is still there. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Right clicking on open tab yields only 'cut and paste' option.

    My (new) computer has some sort of touch control that randomly changes font size. MSM has a tool icon that restores font size, Firefox doesn't. Right clicking on empty tab yields only the cut and paste option.

    If the zoom level changes on a page, you can reset it to the default using either:
    * Ctrl+0 (that's a zero)
    * View menu > Zoom > Reset
    ''(If you are using the orange Firefox button and compact two-column menu, you can display the classic View menu by tapping either the Alt or F10 keys.)''
    On a conventional mouse, you can zoom text by holding down the Ctrl key and using the scroll wheel (forward=larger, backward=smaller). I'm not sure how your touch device works, but if it changes the zoom level without having to hold down Ctrl or another key, that's not very convenient.
    Now, regarding the empty tab problem, how are you opening the tab? Have you noticed problems with your right-click context menus in other situations?
