Early 2006 MacBook dropped and software damaged

I have a huge problem and i couldn't decide what to do.
I have early 2006 intel MacBook. I was using it with bootcamp xp+snow leopard.
I dropped my computer around 2.5 feet to ground. It shut down immediately. When i tried to turn it on, i saw that "other" operating system is damaged.
Mac os was working. I got a "phew" for a second. But unfortunately, mac os is damaged seriously.
"Seriously" means, i can't connect internet, itunes is not working (waiting so long and there is no answer) app store can't connect. Even it is getting freeze when i tried to drag some files into bin. There is no internet connection but i can plug my ethernet and share my internet with ipod or ipad via wifi.
I can purchase a new hdd (it seems hdd is damaged and bad sector occured). Setting up again is not so hard but i lost my apple start up disks.
When i checked apple's website, i saw snow leopard is still on sale. But there is no shipping to my country. yay...
My question; can i get a coupon code for the operating system i have right now (macbook stills open and i can see serial code etc) or do you guys have a suggestion?

The early 2006 MacBook won't install anything newer than 10.6.8. Dropping the machine you may have damaged the connection for the Airport connector. http://www.macsales.com/ offers ethernet and USB WiFi connectors that will with your Mac, and they do deliver outside the U.S. If you have homeowner/rental insurance, find out if you can get the repair covered under it without affecting your rates.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

To check your model go to About This Mac (by clicking on the Apple icon, top left) and then select more info. If you wish to use mirroring you will need one from 2011 or later running OSX 10.8 or later. The alternative would be to use 3rd party software like Airparrot.

Why is my early 2006 macbook crashing after upgrading ram?

I've got a black early 2006 Macbook. I recently upgraded the RAM from 1gb (two 512mb modules) to 2gb (two 1gb modules). I used Crucial brand RAM if that makes a difference.
Anyway, since I upgraded, rather than being able to keep more windows open without the computer slowing down, my screen is freezing up and while sometimes it give me eventual control again, many times it will just tell me to restart the computer. This happens when watching any sort of video either online or off a HD. I had a bunch of tabs open tonight with no video playing (but one video loading) and I had to restart the computer.
Can someone help me? Much appreciated.
I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 BTW

FIrst thing I would do is running the Apple Hardware Test Intel-based Macs: Using Apple Hardware Test
Could be you got a faulty RAM module.
If faulty contact Crucial for replacement.
Also check if the the modules are seated correctly and/or reseat them.

Ssd capacity limit early 2006 macbook

I've decided to replace my early 2006 white macbook hard drive with an ssd. I dont know whether to get a 64gb or 128 gb ssd. The biggest hard drive my macbook supports is a 120gb. Will a 128gb ssd work with my macbook?

So I had my early 2008 macbook pro (A1260) not wake up after clamshell sleep. After researching the boards felt confident it was the logicboard issue. Not being able to afford a replacement I decided to try the "apple bake", as I have been employed as a maintenance tech for a corrugation company and was comfortable doing the work myself. Anyhow it worked (350 degree f - 8mins) and my mac was back to life working as normal except for the fans running at %100 all the time. The fix was short lived, only lasted about 5 weeks and wouldnt wake up from sleep again. (yes, I applied new thermal paste the first time haha) I did the bake again and again it was revived this time fans working properly (still not sure what that was about) I have since had to do it one more time and now I just dont ever close it or let it go to sleep. I found a guy online who will replace the gpu for a good price ($150), my question is, is it actually the Nividia chip thats the issue and not something else? Is there any other issue that would be reolved by doing the bake and Im just thinking its the faulty 8600 geforce chip?

-Pixeleation when gaming (intermittent)

Late 2006 MacBook Pro and Lion

Late 2006 MacBook Pro (2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo w/ 3 GB RAM).
I'd like to run Lion on it so I can use iCloud to sync calendars, contacts etc between it and my Mac Pro, iPad and iPhone
MacBook Pro is old I know, but I'm not at the stage of being able to replace it. It's currently running Leopard. I'm getting different answers from Apple as to whether it could run Lion or or not.
Anyone had experience running Lion on an older machine like this?

Early 2008 MacBook SSD and RAM Upgrade Compatability

I have an early 2008 macbook running OS X 10.5.8. It has a 2.1 GHz Core 2 Duo, 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2, and a 120GB 5400 RPM drive. It’s model MacBook 4,1. Obviously, it could use some upgrades. It still works fine, but is just slow. I can’t afford a new one, and think I can still get some life out of this one. I am thinking about the following upgrades:

have you completed the upgrade yet? I also wanted to know. Someone is trying to trade me their 2008 MB Pro as well (for my Canon L lens), I think it's the 4GB already one and I also have a crucial SSD from my Dell that I can put in. I need to have the MB to run smoothly on PS CS6 & LR5 Please let us know what the results are. What do you guys thinkg? is it enough to run those smoothly?

that sometimes is blank, but it does charge my computer.

Bring it back to the Apple store with your MBP and charger. If the battery is found to be defective, they should provide you with a replacement (assuming you are in the warranty period).

My macbook PRO early-2011 was dropped and the cover of the screen now has a bump, is there a way to repair or change the cover? if so, what would the cost be?

Also the cover under the notebook is screwed up, anyways the unibody is fine but both covers are pretty much damaged, anyway tho change those?

Let's start by highlighting the fact that this repair will not be covered by any form of Apple warranty. That being said, you can check in places like www.powerbookmedic.com or www.ifixit.com for parts prices as a reference. You will have to change the entire lid, with all its guts, but the replacemente procedure is of medium to easy level of difficulty; basically you're disconnecting the cables and unscrewing the lid off.
Note that you can opt for new or used replacement parts.

Harddrive Limits for Early 2006 Macbook

Hey everybody,
I've been searching everywhere but haven't found any answers. First off I have the first Macbook that came out (I bought it June 2006). I asked a Genius what is the max harddrive gb i can put into the the macbook and he said 120gb. I've seen other posts saying they've installed 250, 350 gb with no problem and a macsales.com rep said that I can go up to 500 gbs.
So what is the real answer?
and If i upgrade my harddrive and memory, can i still go to the genius bar and have things replaced for free under my apple care?

You can put in the biggest drive that fits. Presently that's the Samsung 500 GB SATA notebook drive. All other smaller drives will fit. The Genius you spoke with obviously is a moron.
Your warranty is unaffected as replacing the drive is a DIY project. However any damage you cause as a consequence of your installing the drive is not covered by the warranty.
