Earning cash back rewards on child support!

My DBF recently lost his job, so he will start making child support payments manually instead of having them withdrawn from his paycheck. I have read on here that credit cards can't be used for child support payments; at least not without fees that would negate the rewards. I just checked the website, and he can actually make his child support payments by Visa or Mastercard without paying any additional fees. So I told him he should use the Quicksilver to make his payments instead of using his checking or savings for a ACH payment. It will be a small amount, but I get stoked any time I earn rewards on something that would have been paid anyway. Woot!

I'm earning points by paying my student loans off early .....I think. It's through a 3rd party site because Great Lakes won't take CC as a payment, but I got tired of having a monthly withdrawal straight out of my bank account. There is a fee, but the points almost cancel out the fee, so I'm ok with it.Seriously?! I have Great Lakes for my student loans. What are service are you using to pay them?

How do you get money credited back when your child mistakenly buys an app while playing a free kids game?  We need to refund the charges and apps that were mistakenly purchased by a child while playing a free kids game on Ipad.

There are no refunds, but you can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception.
Click "Support" at the top of this page, then click the link under "Contact Us".

  • Credit Card with the Best Cash Back Promo Offer

Title says it.  Which credit card currently has the best cash back promo right now?  Meaning, you earn $x cash back after spending $x amount within three months of account opening.  I know that the CapOne Venture and Barclay Arrival+ both over 40,000 miles after $3,000 in purchaes.  However, as I understand it, the actual cash back redemption (i.e. non-travel) is actually just worth 0.5 cents.  So the 40,000 miles is only really worth $200. Bank of America has a $100 after $500 spend, so that still makes it inferior.

    mikelo22 wrote:
Is that with the AF waived or no? I also noticed that the Citi Premier is a possible choice. 50,000 TY points after $3k in spend.  That can be converted to $500 if you transfer it as a check for student loans and/or mortgage, which is good enough for me. Yes, the annual fee is waived.

  • Child Support Question

I don't know where to ask this question so I am going to ask it here. Backstory:  My husband has been paying on child support for almost 16 years. A year ago, they sent a notice stating that he was behind $1500 + interest. We pulled all the records and all the payments and even sent proof that there was no way he could be behind. The screw up came from the paperwork not deducting enough per month for retro-active child support. It took them 13 years to catch the error and of course we didn't even think about doing the math thinking the courts did it correctly. Note to everyone...add up retroactive and make sure it equals! Of course he has an account on his credit report showing up to 120 days late for his child support. He is all caught up and current now and we have been keeping an eye on everything to make sure this doesn't happen again. He has two and half years till he no longer owes child support, but the damage is already done on his CR. We are building up our scores and credit to buy a house in 2016. This TL is not set to go positive until the year 2020. Has anyone had any luck with sending Good Will letters to the Attorny General to get the lates off their CR? Will mortgage companies look at the lates on this TL even if everything shows current and also states a $0 balance? Any help will be appreciated!

  • Has the discover double cash back changed your lineup?

so with the double cash back promo i no longer use my 1.5% cash back NFCU cashRewards because it doesn't reward me as much now. has this new promo made you SD any cards?

    fitchaber10 wrote:
For me it definitely has not. DC is still better for everyday purchases because you get the second 1% as soon as you pay. You don't have to wait for a year to get it, unlike Discover. To me, the non universal acceptance of Discover means it is only good for the rotating categories and Discover Deals. For everything else, your best bet is to use a different card.Exactly ^^^^^ I don't have Double Cash (BK7 still reporting) but I use Barclays Rewards MC for 2% rewards on gas, groceries & utilities, and Quicksilver 1.5% for most other purchases, I'm not going to wait a year for another 1% from Discover first year double cash back. I use Discover for Discover Dealss or current quarter 5%. I did a nice purchase at HomeDepot.com for 5% through the Discover Deals portal + 5% for current qtr home improvement. Now waiting a year for another 5% or 10% is definately worth the wait.

  • ACH Setup for California Child Support

    Hi,
We need to pay by ACH from FI to child support garnishment vendors. I have setup everything correctly but not able to get addenda record 7 correctly as per Bank Of America's requirement. I get the below line in record "7", but it does not show any HR related information which is required like,
    -- Employee Number
    -- SSN
    -- FIPS Codes
I get Below out of standard SAP as record "7".
    705RMROIACH1_MIKE*5000.005000.00*0.00\
and I need Employee Number, SSN, FIPS and in addition above line should read like this
    705DEDCSACH1_MIKE*5000.005000.00*0.00\ .
Please advice. Where in SAP this record 7 settings are configured which pulls HR data to FI and paid through F110/ACH?

    Hi Experts,
I have a few  queries at this juncture:
    1) For example, let's say there is vendor (say 108001 )and there are three employees whose Support Garnishments are going to this vendor.
Now If u201CIssue Separate Check to Vendor u201Cfield is checked in IT0194, does this ensure separate line items/entries for each employee in the ACH file format.
    2) Can we assign only Vendor (say 108001 ) everytime in IT0194 for any employee with Garnishment Category u2013 Support.
    3) Can a Vendor ask for the same ACH file in both the formats - CTX and CCD ? If yes, does that mean there will be two payment runs in FI, one for each format.
    Can you please help.
    Regards,

    Hi all,
I need to set up an EFT process for child support for one the states in US. can anyone please guide me what are the steps involved in this.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Did you find a resolution to your question?  We are facing the same for CA.  We could do this most likely out of FI, but, our FI team wants us to create a file from Payroll and send this.  Any tips on what you did?  Thanks.

  • Child Support on reports

I am currently $180.00 behind on my child support and it is reporting on all 3 CRA's. My question is, once I pay off that $180, will it be removed from my reports or do they stay on record for 7 years?

To be honest, it varies. Some states don't report to the CRA's at all, some do but are willing to remove it if the debt is paid, and some are more hardnosed. There's not a policy in place at the federal level, as far as I know, so there are essentially fifty different approaches.
Once you pay it off, if it doesn't immediately drop you can always ask for a GW. There's no guarantee it'll be successful but again, depending on the circumstances it is possible that the agency responsible for collection in your state could be persuaded.

I have downloaded the latest I-Tunes, but am hating it with a vengence. The 'colour' touches are nice, but its lost that certain something. It all seems a little like hardwork, in that you have to search for everything? The I-Cloud icon sits next to you're I-Tunes, & with out knowing it, you have suddenly made another 'play list' ?
Please, I-Tunes, spend 'our' hard earned cash on better Quality recordings & Security. This is what we want. Please, make our I-Tunes simple again & most definatley, hassle free.
We don't want to be waiting to play our favourite tunes after selecting them, only to find them on 'another list' & will not play to we have prompted 'said' list.
I use my I-Pod for my gym work & running. I want to know that once I have requested my Playlist, I can get on with my training.
I don't want to hear Nothing because I didn't click my favourite tunes, but instead 'Selected' them, or (somehow) send them to I-Cloud, or even worse, hear the same tune over & over & over again, because again, I didn't click to play, but clicked to 'select'.

You are not addressing Apple here at all.
We are all itunes users just like you.

  • When I visit certain web sites, a "cash back slider" appears; how do I prevent this from happening?

When Firefox opens certain sites, a "cash back slider" appears near the top left hand side of the screen. I have to move it to the middle of the screen in order to close it. I thought it was an add-on that I had inadvertently installed, but it is not included when I search the ad-on list. This feature is very annoying and I would like to disable it, but I can't figure out how to do so.

Install, update, and run these programs in this order. '''''(Not all programs detect the same Malware.)''''' • Best Cash Back Cards?

Hello guys! I've been lurking the forums for quite a while, gathering useful information and I finally decided to make an account to ask you guys for your opinions.  I recently turned 18 the beginning of last month and I got to applying for credit cards quickly. My FICO credit score was 729 (was an authorized user under mom's CC for 11 years) after being approved for 1) Cap1 Journey ($3k, will PC to QS) 2) Discover It ($500, sooo low) 3) Amex TrueEarnings ($5.5k) Now, I am deciding which cards I should app for. I LOVE cash back. Most of my expenses are from restaurants and Amazon.Which cards should I app for next? I have these in mind:1) Citi DoubleCash2) US Bank Cash+3) Chase AARP4) Chase Freedom In the future: Marukai JCB, Sallie Mae MC I know I need to garden. But I am wondering for how long until I apply for the Citi DB? I'm covered with Discover because of their double cash back bonus for my first year, so when do you guys think I should app my next cards? Thanks guys!

    Monoglot wrote:
Most of my expenses are from restaurants and Amazon.Which cards should I app for next?If most of your spend is on restaurants and Amazon then you should be looking to maximize spend for those categroies.  AARP is on your list and was suggested for restaurants above.  Sallie Mae was suggested for Amazon.  The Amazon store card would be another option. Are those your only major spend categories?  How does non-category spend compare to category spend for you?  Why are the cash+ and Freedom on your list? Monoglot wrote:
I know I need to garden. But I am wondering for how long until I apply for the Citi DB?No idea but if you just added 3 new cards a month ago and didn't have any prior to that then you've probably already done as much as your credit profile can handle.  6 months would be a general suggestion but it really depends on the specifics of your profile and that suggestion is mostly based on how pulls tend to taper. Monoglot wrote:
    2) Discover It ($500, sooo low)
Limits are set based on what your credit and income qualify for.  The low limit indicates that Discover has concerns with your credit which shouldn't be surprising. Monoglot wrote:
