Earphones for Ipad and Imac

Hi
does anyone know if it is possible to obtain earphones that can be used with both the i pad and the i mac, thanks very much

I have these --- http://www.ultimatebuds.com/store/product.php?productid=16146&cat=0&page=1&featu red -- they use the same mic as a regular iPhone.
And if you want to stop the buds from sliding off, with these headphones its more the annoyance of loosing then when I'm out on a run, not them ending up in my middle ear, wrap some Teflon Tape around the posts of the earphones before you put the buds on. This is the same tape you use to seal threads of pipes and around 99c a roll from your local hardware store. For these buds, it works like a charm and it amazing, I can hardly pull then buds off the headphones while before even looking at them caused them to come off!!
Cheers
Richard

You need to create and restore a backup to transfer the application data.

  • Pages for iPad and iMac?

I installed pages on my iPad Mini.  I am setting up a trip report template to use on an upcoming trip.  Thought it would be easier to set up on my iMac but realized that I might have to purchase Pages ($19.99) for iMac.  I have used Word (for iMac) for years.  Should I stick with Pages on iPad and develop my trip report there?  Will I be able to transfer trip report to iMac later?  No problem purchasing Pages for iMac, just wonder if it is necessary.  Thanks.

Without Pages for OSX, you would be left with transferring the files between two formats, which could prove to be problematic, depending on the complexity of the spreadsheet (formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting, etc.). Take some time to experiment a bit, both with importing and exporting the file from the iPad, and possibly settings it up from scratch (or reworking it after the import). A relatviely simply spreadsheet may not present a problem in any scenario, but without knowing the specifics of your template, its hard to say. I have found that using Pages for OS X is a bit less combersome for personal files than Excel for MAC in conjunction with the iPad (but have been able to make it work for some business files to a degree).

  • Same Wireless keyboard for iPad and iMac

Can I easily and quickly use a wireless keyboard on a Ipad & a Imac? I can pair them but can't
    connect them. KST

You can pair the keyboard to multiple devices. For example, my keyboard is paired to my Mac, iPad and iPhone.
You can only use the keyboard with one device at a time. This means you have to "disconnect" not "un-pair" the keyboard from a device before "connecting" it to another device.

  • Best parent controls for iPads and iMac running on BT Home Hub

    Hi,
Despite the great sounds coming from the big ISPs about parental controls, they're determined to make a really simple concept absolutely impossible.
Firstly, I'm not trying to lock-down my family's access to the net, but I have two boys aged around ten, and being boys they're inquisitive, so are probably getting closer to stumbling across some seriously dodgy content... And I want to try to prevent that... It should not be hard. If I could limit the times they were online, just if browsing gets out of hand (they're kids remember) that would be a handy option as well.
So on to the technical details... We have a standard BT broadband account that comes into a new BT Home Hub. This is currently our WiFi point. We run a laptop, two ipads, iphones and an ipod touch on Wifi, and have a desktop ethernet'd to the Home Hub. BT offer a downlaodable Family Protection package that allows user accounts to be configured, but this does not appear to work on an iPad or Touch.
Very shortly, we're about to retire the PCs from family life and install an iMac. So we're getting into a properly Mac environment. I was also considering installing a Time Capsule for back-ups and had considered stringing this in series on the Home Hub, then networking all of the Apple devices off of the Time Capsule.
Ideally, the controls would be at a us level, or at least by device. I've come across some App options, but this seems like an unecessary layer of proprietary complexity.
So how Do we deploy parental controls? The simplest option, that BT have failed to realise, would be a network solution that filters everything coming into the house and stops it before it even hits the Home Hub - but that doesn't appear to be an option.
So what options do we have? Any ideas? I had heard suggestions that I could manage user control via the Time Capsule, but that's proving hard to confirm.
Happy to supply any further information to help with this query.
In summary, how do I stop **** getting onto my boys' iPads/Touchs... Should be simple????
    Cheers, Mombee.

Sorry, but the Apple routers do have any type of parental controls on them.
If you have not already done so, you might want to take a look at the parental control options offered by OpenDNS.

  • Can Numbs app for iPad be used for iPhone and iMac?

Can Numbs app for iPad be used for iPhone and iMac?

I assume that you mean Numbers, in which case the iPad version can be used on the iPhone (if you've got the current version of Numbers then you will need iOS 5 on your iPhone). It can't be used on your iMac as that is a different operating system, you will need the Mac OS X version for that - but you can use spreadsheets created in Numbers on the iPad in Numbers on the Mac and vice versa.

  • How can I do to have the same contacts in all my devices, pc, iPad and iMac?

I have severl devices and the last taime I updated my contacts was almos manually. I would Like to be able to have the same contacts in all, pc, iPad, and iMac.
How can I set it so to get it done through iCloud?
For instance in my pc ( windows 7 Home Premium ) I use Outlook 2007.
Thanks for any comment on this.

switching on iCloud should automatically tell it to merge data with that device and icloud. i'm on a mac but its gotta be the same on all devices and systems.
when you switch on icloud for Contacts on a PC, it will tell you its merging all contacts with icloud...

  • Paired ipad and imac..now what?

I was pairing my wireless keyboard with my iPad and saw iMac on the list calling out to me.  So I paired them.   I have looked for uses and advantages for this but have yet to find anything.
Suggestions and tips are welcomed. JiPi

Your original post mentioned about wireless keyboard & iPad. Instead you pair it with your iMac.
So you can wirelessly type on your iMac. My question was what else do you expect?
Since this forum is about Home Sharing and your 2nd question was asking what iPad and iMac can do at the same time when connected.
There are quite a number of things you can do. For example:
    1. You don't have to sync all your computer iTunes music to the iPad. You can stream it to your iPad.
    2. With a Remote app (free from Apple) you can control your computer iTunes.

  • I recently upgraded to Mt. Lion and am downloading my iphone, ipad, and iMac in icloud. Can not check Photo stream in iMac. Do my iphone photos sync to iMac

I recently upgraded to Mt.Lion 10.8.3. Am backing up icloud in iphone, ipad, and imac. In Imac, cannot check "photo stream".  How do I see my photos from iphone on my imac? and should I backup in imac icloud storage?
    Thank you.

Log into iCloud (system preferences),  launch iPhoto and Turn on PhotoStream (iPhoto preferences) and look under PhotoStream in the source list in iPhoto - if you want, turn on auto import and / or auto upload in the iPhoto preferences

  • Why they dont put IPAD and IMAC together?

    Just a crazy idea,
i have been thinking for a while, why apple doesnt put the ipad and imac togheter?
I mean, if they create a dock, where you have a keyboard and a standard mouse o trackpad, then, when you pluc your ipad, you can use it as a normal Imac, with its normal features. And when you plug it out, it will became a normal ipad, as we know it today. That would be the way to sell an ipad for all those people who doesnt buy it because it cant replace their laptop or pc.
Aditionally it would need flash, usb access, and an option to plug it to a bigger screen (it can be thunderbolt), if you dont want the ipad screen size to work at home.
To crazy?? i think it would be very easy for them to develop it.
    Best Regards,
    Juan Gartner

The iPad has a crippled processor and very conservative system for long battery life and low heat that can't render most of the web, or do much of anything else like a full computer can.
This is my Firefox on a MacBook Pro compared to a iPad and other like devices.
And to add insult to injury, Safari on a Mac is about twice as better as Firefox.

  • I want to synchronise Ipad and Imac emails with free

I want to synchronise Ipad and Imac emails with free

I have a number of PC and Mac Pro running Windows Pro, and the OS only needs 80GB partition, plus whatever data etc.
New but used does not sound like Apple Store (refurbished) Specials which would be a 'virgin' OS.
I would reformat and do your own clean install.
There may be something wrong and why it was left that way for one thing. May be a problem with the partition table.
Boot from OS X DVD and you can usually try Disk Utility to "-" remove and then repair and get back, and you of course normally should be able to just use Boot Camp Assistant which is one of its functions - not just to create partition.
For normal resizing, or creating the free space you need has to be in one contiguous chunk and not be fragmented, which is hard to imagine that 500GB is going to be intact.
And whatever you do, rule #1 in the pdf guide: backup before beginning.

  • My ical is not syncing properly between my ipad and imac

Since the latest itunes update, the sync between my ipad and imac isn't working properly - when I have checked in the Info section of the Ipad sync bit in itunes, it says that ical and contacts are syncing with icloud - I don't want this and used to specifiy not.  It's important for me to sync the contacts and calendar exactly between my 2 devices, as it used to be.
    Can anyone help, please?
    Thanks, Caroline

  • My iPhone won't sync pictures with iPad and iMac

I have an Imac, an iPad (18 months) and an iphone 4S (2months). All are set up identically with syncing photoes. The Ipad and iMac sync fine, but any pictures I take with the iphone will not sync automatically. Photo stream and sharing is set up on all of them. My husbands iphone is 2 1/2 years old and we have the same problem with that. I am an artist therefore have become dependent on the syncing. Can anyone help

Hei Alfred, I set them all up to do the same thing in settings. Ie, using the same icloud account, switching on the icloud account for photos, my photo stream is on, so is photo sharing. The imac and ipad have functioned well all the time. The iphone is newer.  I made sure that the iphone had the same settings for photos as the ipad, but no photos have ever gone automatically into icloud from the iphone. I have always had to do it manually. It is the same with my husbands phone and he has had it much longer. He isn't so computer literate, but I'm beginning to doubt myself now!
