Earpiece Problem - Help!

My iPhone can make and receive calls but I cannot hear anything nor can anyone hear me?
If I press the speakerphone, it then works ok.
Can anyone please offer any solutions?

Did this occur after using the earbuds or a wired headset?
Try inserting and removing the earbuds several times in a row to see if this makes any difference. If some lint gets in the opening and it doesn't take much, this can be the result.

Thank you both for your responses but my daughter was reassured by the salesman in the iStyle store (official Apple store in the UAE) that iMessages would work but conceded that FaceTime wouldn't. My iTunes account is registered in the uk and my daughter's iPhone has iMessages even though she bought it (and uses it) in Dubai. Can anyone else throw any light on this?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad/iPod into Recovery Mode

IPad syncing problem - HELP!

iPad sync problem - HELP! I keep getting this message "...cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional ...space needed)" and yet I seem to have plenty of space on the iPad. This just started today. I even tried deleting some things to make even more room, but it didn't help. Any ideas???
I was thinking of restoring, but I've never done it... should I?

Not that I am an expert o/c but here are some thoughts on the matter.
My comments are based on my experiences of the KT3 Ultra2 which is basically the same as the Ultra version.
This mobo does not have the ability to lock the PCI/AGP bus freely from the FSB. However, it does have dividers. At 133 a 1/4 divider kicks in. Above 152FSB the 1/5 divider works, so that at 166 the PCI & AGP buses will be back in sync. If you are o/c your cpu, don't go from 133 to 145, etc since you will be running the PCI/AGP buses further out of whack. Just go to either the mid 150's or to 166 in one jump. The other problem / issue relates to your cpu. From what you say you have one of the old Palominos which are not great o/c's. I would personally o/c your cpu from the BIOS rather than 'Fluffy Logic' which I would tend to stay away from.
With a 166FSB cpu a very stable o/c would be 175-177 beyond 180 gets decidedly tricky.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

I had the same issue and I'm running Windows 7. Tried working with technical support for several hours but they were no help. They just had me doing the same things over and over, offering no real answers. I finally got fed up and have decided to return my product for a full refund.

Warranty is valid only in country of original purchase. You have to return
the iPhone to the US for evaluation. Either you return it personally or send
it to a friend/relative/co-worker in the US to take into Apple. Apple will not
accept international shipments for evaluation nor will Apple ship out of the
country after repair/replacement.
Have you tried the standard trouble shooting steps: restart, restore, restore
as new iPhone?

i'd like to ask if you played with the volume way up high for quite some time?...at first i tried testing the earphones to its limit...it did respond well...nothing happened...after that i limit the volume to a comfortable range...not after a friend tried it out and not to my knowing he pumped up the volume way up...after he returned it and when played to a 95 percent volume the right bud would give a distorted funny sound...but its still okay when played to a 80 percent range volume...and no, you cannot have a busted earphone fixed..(as far as what ive heard)its better to replace it with a new one...happy holidays!

IPhone 3gs Earphone, Mic and Earpiece Problem

i have a problem with my iPhone 3gs, the mic is working fine when that battery is on high percentage, but when the battery goes down the mic is not working well, it records like a grounded sound, also my earpiece, when doing a call i cant hear the person on the onther line using my earpiece but when using a earphone or a loud speaker mode it works fine.,
the problem on earphone is when i play music via earphone and make it on a maximum volume the phone is giving me a grounded sound,.
can anybody help me with this problem?

my friends just a bought the same phone and they have the same exact problem! i brought it to the apple store and they pretty much blew me off. they tried fixing but they said everything is fine...
they are keeping secret about this!!!!!! many more need to complain for them to get a new speaker!!!!!!

Earpiece problem

I just upgrade my iphone to new os 6,
when i play music or in calls with my earphone,
i can't use the volume button on my earphone. i can't increase or decrease the volume with that button again

I am having a problem at the moment with my new 6270, when im using it to make a call there is a buzzing in the earpiece, I've tried turning the volume up and down on the handset but this doesnt make any difference. I requested a replacement direct through O2 only to be told that they have stopped supplying the phone as it isn't popular? I can choose another model and am waiting for the 6280 to come into stock again, im wondering through if i might be better going for something different. I was really disapointed as it seemed to be a really good phone otherwise with an excellent camera.

Hi Moni,
The problem as I had replied in your earlier post is with the MODIFY statement.
MODIFY TABLE ITAB FROM ITAB. This statement will do the modifications based on the table key. When you have character fields as editable, then some problems are to be anticipated. In such a scenario, you must update the internal table based on the index, rather than based on key.
So consider using
MODIFY ITAB FROM ITAB INDEX TCL-CURRENT_LINE.
Where TCL is the name of the Table Control. Also observe the difference in syntax here, don't use the TABLE keyword for the MODIFY statement.
Please try it out and let me know.
