EAS Error: Could not connect to Administration Server
Hi Genius,
I have installed and configured Hyperion (11.1.2.1) Essbase & Planning successfully on windows server 2008 64 bit. For that I installed Oracle 10g Standard Edition as supported RDBMS. Due to RAM consumption I planned to install the Oracle Express Edition instead of Standard Edition. For that I export the tablespace which contains metadata of Hyperion products from existing database(SE) to current database(XE). After that I reconfigured all the Hyperion Products.
Once re-configuration completed, I tried to log-in to the Administration Server via EAS Console by providing server name as localhost and username as Admin. Then EAS console throwing error as "Could not connect to Administration server".
To solve this issue I tried following steps,
1> Remove the Cwallet.sso and create a new Cwallet.sso by using orapki bat file.
2> Backup the original ESSBASE.SEC file and rename the ESSBASE.BAK file to ESSBASE.SEC then I started the Essbase Administration service.
3> I re-installed and re-configured the EAS console.
After following these steps I am not able to overcome this issue.
For your kind information,
1> I can able to login to the Essbase through ESSCMD.
2> I can able to view the list of essbase applications through Smart View.
Kindly guide me how to overcome this issue.

Thanks for your response. I observed the EAS logs clearly and came to know that there were no errors in Hypeas-syserr.log.

EAS server error: Could not connect to administration Server
Hi,
I have installed Hyperion suite in Windows server 2008 R2. It was working fine but now when i tried to login in to the EAS console, I am getting the following error:
"Server Error: Could not connect to administration server".
I tried accessing the same through the web URL and I found "404 error - file or directory not found".
I verified all my services are up and running fine. I am able to connect to the essbase sever through Excel as well as planning.

Sorry for replying late.
I ran the EPM diagnostic and found EAS & APS application are failed. So as you mentioned, i tried re-deployment through EPM configurator.
But Re-configuration fails with error "An unexpected error occurred and the application will have to shut down" .

Hi All,
We are using Essbase 9.3.1.2 and installed in sunsolaries 64 bit system. I have sucessully done the configuration of EAS, Essbase Server and Shared services however when i try to login into the the console with user admin and i am getting the error as "could not connect to administration server." I can connect to excel add-ins sucessfully and also i am able to connect to the server through maxl but i am getting the above error while connecting through essbase console. Kindly help me out in this regard.
Note: I have done the configuration multiple times but the same error persists.
I have also restarted the services many times.

I have solved the issue. We have not done the configuration properly. We are giving the sever name instead we should give it as EAS for EAS and then configure and it works fine.

Is this the first time you are trying to log on to EAS console ?
First check if your database is up or not ( with which essbase configuration is done).
If your db services are running, then Go to Oracle EPM system, EAS and Start Administration Services from Start Programs ( I assume you are on 11 and on Windows).
If still you get the same problem, then check the logs.

To my knowledge and based on Essbase architecture, both EAS and Essbase services are different. If Essbase is up and EAS is down, still you can access Essbase through add-in or some other tools. -

i have installed EPM 11.1.2.2 with web application deployed to single manage server

when i try to connect EAS console it gives me error

any idea?If it has been deployed to a single managed server on the default port then you will need to add the server in EAS console as servername:9000

Error " Could not connect Administratin Server "
Hi All,
I am getting an error while connecting to Administratin Server " Could not connect to Administration Server "
Server : AIX 5.3 ML7 64 bit
Application Server : Apache Tomcat
Version : Hyperion System 9.3.1
While configuration it does not give any error and shows the successfully deployed.
I re-configured the Adminstration Services again, stopped / re-started the services, but it did not help.
Any suggestion / help would be highly appreciated. Thanks !

Presently in Jordan : + 962 777 603308AIX server for SS. I didn't want to mess up my original files so I created a new start script and a new setJavaRuntime script.
You can use FTP to send the copied file and edit. there and sent it back
1. Make a copy of the file /Hyperion931/deployments/Tomcat5/bin/ startSharedServices9.sh
2. Edit the original startSharedServices9.sh file and change the section that sets the Java:

When I tried to open Essbase Administration Console and there is no option to open administration console and I opened the Hyperion extraction setup folder and I installed Essbase Administration Console setup manuallay and after sucessful installation I try to Open and when I create new server and ir=ts created and then I am trying to connect server its throw this error

Please give me possitive things.
Thanks in advance..Did you deploy the web applications to one managed server in the configurator, if you did then EAS is probably running on port 9000 so you would need to enter the server in the EAS console as servername:9000

Oracle Beehive Conferencing -- "Could not connect to the server"

Customer can't connect to the Conference, while joining they get a error "Could not connect to the server". We tried "Oracle Beehive Conferencing" with at least 12 Customers only 2 were able to connect. All 10 Customer reported the same issue.

PavanPorts 80/443 are open by default on all systems, 5224 is required by the Beehive Desktop conference client. If customer is trying to connect using Desktop client then they need to check if 5224 port is closed by any firewall running on the system.

Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct
Everyday I use Command + K to bring up the "Connect to Server" dialog, select the server from "Favorite Servers", click the Connect button, receive a prompt to provide my credentials to access the network share, then the share mounts and I access the files on it.
Starting yesterday I no longer get the prompt asking me to provide the domain, username and password, it just tries to connect to the server then reports the following error:
"Could not connect to the server because the name or password is not correct."
I've restarted my Mac but still does the same thing. I'm able to connect to other server shares just fine, prompts me for the username and password, but this one particular server just will not prompt me for the username and password.
I've done the following to try and resolve it but without any success in doing so:
I've restarted the server
I ran Repair Disk Permissions in Disk Utility
Ran Keychain Access --> First Aid --> Repair
Tried to find an entry in Keychain to remove, none listed
Able to connect to share within Fusion running XP

It surely is starting to look like it's some kind of security setting on the Win-Server...something that's different from the other server you just patched.
If you've looked at local and domain policies that do not 'require' digital signing, then I'm a a loss. (I don't have the exact settings, but it's been discussed here ad nauseum over the past two years)
Has something to do with disabling digital signing of communications "always", and enabling "when possible"... other than that, I've forgotten the exact policies...Look in security policies, and you'll probably see what I'm trying to describe.

How to fix ipad error -1004 "could not connect to the server"
I am trying to access the tablet edition of Vanity Fair. I already have a subscription and when I click on the "Tap here for acces to the tablet edition" it takes me to a screen & this error message pops up:
Cannot Open Page
This page cannot be opended because of an error
This error is "Could not connect to the server."(-1004).
I have deleted, reinstalled via itunes on my mac, done a hard restart and nothing seems to be working. I can browse the web using safari and am connected to the internet via wifi.
Any suggestions?I have the same issue, too. My New Yorker subscription is fine, always has been. But my Conde Nast Traveler subscription won't work. I can get to the screen where you enter your information (either with name and address or subscription number and zip code), but once I press Continue I get the error.
I emailed Conde Nast's customer service, and this is what they said:

We have applied a fix to the app for the server error and you will need
to close and re-open your app. To do so, please double click the "home"
button to close the running app and then re-open your app.

That didn't work. I tried the restarting the iPad, as someone here suggested, but that didn't work, either. Interesting that this seems to be a Conde Nast issue - my NY Times and National Geographic subscriptions are just fine, too.

I actually wonder if it's a firewall issue. Are any of you attempting to enter this information at work, for example? I am, and my company has a firewall/proxy that gives me issues sometimes. I'm going to try to find a wifi hotspot at lunch to see if it'll work there. -

I am new to Endeca. We have an Endeca DEV server, MDEX 6.4.1. Forge is running fine. I am able to connect to the Orange App and getting the products. http://devmachine:8006/endeca_jspref/controller.jsp (with servername and Port: 15001)
Even tried to connect to get an existing record GetProduct("256782") and still getting the same 404 error. "{"Error reading from the connection.The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found."}". I could not get why it could not connect to the Server.
