Easier way to navigate in citrix on iPad?

I just purchased a new iPad with the intent to use it as an alternative to my firm's bulky Dell laptops.
My firm does not support VPN access via non-firm owned equipment but, they do support access via Citrix.
Generally, this is working ok but, I am finding navigation within the Citrix apps to be very difficult.  Within the Citrix environment the standard iPad touch interface obviously does not work and there is a "mouse" cursor.  Without a mouse or trackpad it is very difficult to navigate but I've been told that the iPad will not support a link to a bluetooth mouse or trackpad.
What are others doing?  Are there settings for Citrix Receiver that I'm missing?

Rule # 1 is that the iPad is not a laptop replacement.  Sometimes, using a laptop is better, depending on what you need to do of course.
I have Citrix Receiver on my iPad, and I've used it a couple times.  But as you said, it is a clunky interface.  Basically, I only use Citrix and my iPad in situations where I have no other choice.  Otherwise, I use my MacBook Air or my iMac desktop.  It's just easier that way.

Hey all, I had a question pertaining to transfer of videos from one iPad to another iPad. Is there a way to do this wirelessly or even transfer by data cable from one iPad directly to another without having to use a computer as an intermidiary?

You should be syncing your contact to your computer.
You can probably find a way to get the contacts from your computer to your new phone.

  • How do you attach multiple pictures to an email? I use yahoo, presently I copy and paste each pic separately , having to go back and forth from my pics and email. I know there's an easier way. I currently use an iPad 2 and this is my first apple product.

I currently use an iPad 2,how does one go about attaching multiple pictures to a yahoo email? Presently I am having to copy then paste each picture
Separately , going back and forth from my picture roll to my email. I tried to copy and paste multiple pictures but it would only paste the last picture
I copied. I am new to apple, so any help would be appreciated .

If you use the Mail App and configure a Yahoo account you can then select up to 5 pictures from the Photo App and mail them as a single e-mail.

  • In Mail on the iPad, is there an easy way to place emails in the junk file like on the iMac?

Is there an easy way to place emails received on my iPad into a junk file like you can do on the iMac by using a junk icon to stop certain emails from reoccuring?

You would need to first set up a junk folder, once that is done, when you are previewing message there is an icon on top of a folder with an arrow inside it, tap on it, this is the move action, in the folder list that now appears tap on the junk folder.

  • I want to print from my iPad in my truck. Is there an easy way of doing this?

I want to print from my iPad from inside my truck. Is there an easy way to do this?

The bluetooth is generally meant for keyboards and speakers, no idea if it'd work with a printer.
I suppose you could shop for printers and look to see if one specifically mentions compantibility with iPads.
The iPad was created to be a consumption device. Used to consume data, watch movies, read books, listen to music. functionality like what you're wanting is beyond how the device was originally conceived, so it requires tweaking and fixing.
There are other devices out there that have more functionality, including some that might hardwire to a printer. The easy part would be power for the printer. A $25 inverter will give you that in your vehicle.

  • HT5182 New to iPad and I was wondering if anyone knows an easy way to transfer photos from pc to iPad?

I am new to iPad and need to know an easy way to transfer my photos from my pc to iPad.  Anyone have any ideas?

Download and read the iPad user manual. You can find it here http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf
Start iTunes on your computer and use the menus to check for an update. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer. If you are using a pc and don't Have iTunes you can download it free from apple.com.
Start iTunes on your computer and connect your iPad. Follow the instructions in the users guide.

  • I'm trying to find an easier way to import my music to iTunes. Even the most basic music player can scan your computer and import found music into your library. I don't want to move my MP3s into the iTunes folder, I don't want iTunes doing any conversion.

I'm trying to find an easy way to import my MP3 collection into iTunes without moving, copying or changing it.
I can't believe that iTunes doesn't have this feature, as even the most basic music players always have this.
I only use iTunes to sync my iPod, as I like Media Monkey to play my MP3s.
I have 137GB of MP3s, mainly from my ripping my CDs, LPs and downloading from Amazon. I've only purchased a handful of songs from iTunes,
Any ideas on how to do this easily?

It does have that feature. Why would you assume that it doesn't?

    Okay, no problem.
If the top bar menu is not displayed in top left of your iTunes Library, use the CTRL+B keys to turn it on:
On that menu, use File/Add Folder to Library and navigate to the folder you wish to add:
If you wish to add just one song, notice the File/Add File to Library command on that menu as well.
Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop from the file's location into your iTunes Library.
That's all there is to it.
By the way, it is possible to have Amazon MP3s downloaded to your computer and then automatically added to the iTunes Library by the Amazon downloader. I do it all the time.

  • How can I see my reminders in my Mac in the same way I see them in my iPad and iPhone

How can I see my reminders in my Mac in the same way I see them in my iPad and iPhone, I is easier to work with reminders in Ipad and Iphone rather to see them like a list on ICal

The calendar seems to be the only way to see reminders right now. I'm aware of no 3rd party program that deals with just reminders...but I'd like to find one.

  • Is there a way to create folders on one iPad and sync the folders to multiple iPads?

Is there a way to create folders on one iPad and sync the folders to multiple iPads? I have 23 iPads and I want to have all the folders match for easier access for students.

Here is a possibkle workaround, assuming the iPads are all starting out with the same initial content on them:
Backup that iPad to each computer you will be using. Then restore from the backup (only takes a couple minutes). Then rename the other 22 iPads.

  • Easy way to get a print out of my iTunes library

I want to get a printout of my library -- it's not big; maybe 1400 songs.  I've not found an easy way to do it.  The best I could come up with was to create a playlist that contains every song in my library and then print out that playlist.
It sounded good until I tried to execute it.  I can't find a way to move songs in bulk into a playlist.  I had presumed I could just do a CTRL-A, then paste the list into the playlist.  Nope.  It seems the only way to do it is to move each song into the playlist manually.  That's way too much like work.
I'm not much of a computer person, so I need you to speak slowly and use small words.
I have my physical files on a Windows 7 machine and sync the family's iPads, etc from there.  I'm running iTunes 11.1.1.11.
    TIA
P.S. The OS list in the drop down menu stops at iOS 5.1.1.  I'm actually on iOS 7.0.3

I think only some places get a sim card tool with their Iphone, I didn't. It's easy just push a paperclip firmly into the slot and it'll pop out.

  • I'm using apple's bluetooth keyboard and I need an easy way to switch between the text and numbers fields instead of tapping on the screen

I'm using apple's bluetooth keyboard and I need an easy way to switch between the text and numbers fields instead of tapping on the screen

    While not in edit mode:
    - if start typing numbers, then it enters number mode.
    - if start typing text, then it enters text mode.
Using the arrow keys exits edit mode. So this should work for you:
1 Type text into a cell, which enters text mode.
2 Press Return to move to the next cell.
3 Press right arrow key to exit edit mode.
4 Press left arrow key to get back to the cell.
5 Type a number, which enters number mode.
Another method that requires more planning ahead of time is to format the cells as text or number before starting the data entry. Then when you navigate to a cell while in edit mode, you will be in the appropriate mode (without having to exit edit mode).
This all works fine for me. Hopefullly it does for you also.

  • I have a new computer and want to sync my Iphone and Ipad2 to the new computer, is there an easy way to do this?

I have a new computer and want to sync my Iphone and Ipad2 to the new computer (PC) instead of the old one, is there an easy way to do this?

Extract from one of our senior participant.
    Syncing with new computer
    1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
    2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
    3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
    4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
    5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
    6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

You can import the clips in the order you want them to play, which would be the quickest.
Or you can put them all in the timeline, then zoom out on the timeline (two finger squeeze).
That makes it easier to hold the clip, and drag it to the start.

  • Any easy way to mark items (many) as read? Seems odd you have to check 100 little boxes

Looking for easy way to mark ALL items as read or mark ALL items to delete. Checking a million circles is lame.

Lame as it may seem, that's how it works in iOS land.  If you have the same mailboxes on your computer and if they're set up as IMAP or Exchange, you can go on your home computer and mark them as read and by virtue of being exchange, they will show as read on your iPad.
