Easier way to sync event to calendar?

I was wondering what the easiest way to sync events to my calendar. For example, if I wanted to sync a list sporting events from a website. How can I do this, without entering each and every one in by hand?

Look in the website for something that says "download event info" or "subscribe to calendar". If there is an .ics file you can download and import into iCal/Outlook, then sync to the phone. (Try downloading it on the phone, I'm not sure whether it's set up to handle ics files or not)
But if the website hasn't offered facilities for this, there's not much you can do, I don't think.

Simple and EASY way to sync contacts from 3gs iPhone to MacBook Pro. Partner and I both use macBook. I have tried and get a message that only 350 of 3,500 item have syncd- all photos. I'm still learning and am very afraid of doing something that will wipe out all info, contacts and photos. Entering this site, the account shows my partners name, but accepts my other information.

First of all, you should always save you photos on computer like any other digital camera.
Backup on iCloud or iTunes only backup your Camera Roll. The other photos should be already on the computer.
Note: Photos are not saved in iTunes, it's only a conduit between your iPhone and your photo managing software on computer.
    What computer do you have?

  • Is there a way to sync only the calendar with the new control panel?

I did the iCloud control panel update on my work machines this morning and it looks like it will only sync the calendar with outlook if you let it sync your contacts and tasks as well. The main reason I use iCloud is to sync my work meetings/events between my work PC and my phone. It liked the way it worked before, but now the user has less control over what it syncs. Is there a way to sync the calendar only?
Also, it's made outlook quit unexpectedly on both machines, but I assume they'll have bug fixes eventually. I'm running one machine with Office 2007 and one with 2010.

The iCloud Control Panel 2.0, just release with iOS 6, forces users to upload Outlook contacts to iCloud in order to sync calendar and reminders with iPhone. This is unacceptable to me.  Because of this and bugs in the Outlook/iCloud plugin, I have discontinued use of iCloud and will sync my iPhone with Outlook using itunes. I will have to forego using Outlook task syncing with iPhone reminders because iTunes doesn't sync them, which is unfortunate.

  • Way to sync files, photos, calendars, contacts, etc. between 2 macs?

Is there a way to sync files (in a folder), photos (in iPhoto), music (in iTunes), calendars (in iCal), etc. between my laptop and my desktop? I would like a simple solution that does not require me, for example, to export photos from iPhoto on one computer and copy them over and input them onto the other computer. I am also not interested in a web solution (like MobileMe). Is there any way to do this?

I am using Chronosync. It's not a freeware but very powerful and easy to handle. I do synchronize my documents (3GB) between 3 Mac's and one Windows server 2003. One way, two way, what ever you want. After selecting first what and how to synchronize you can store this kind off automated script with a name. For example, docsync.sync. Next time you double click the icon, the program chronosync starts and synchronizes the selected folders. It's a OSX program, but it synchronizes over network folders from different platforms. I love it, it's the best tool I ever had.

You can probably find ways to sync Google with Outlook if you need, but I suspect that's not your point!

  • Is there an easy way to sync an iPhone 5 to a new Macbook Pro Retina

    Hi Guys,
Thanks in advance for helping me out, I think this question has been asked in various forms but I was hoping to be a bit more specific.
I've just got a new Macbook Pro Retina 13", which is awesome.
The first thing I want to do is sync up my iPhone 5, which im thinking is going to be a nightmare.
Im almost certain if I connect my iPhone ill be presented with the option to 'Erase and Sync'.
Basically, without transfering all my photos, music and apps to a hard-drive and then over onto this new MBP is there a way to sync up without effectively starting from scratch and spending hours with a big transfer?
    Thanks again.

What do you want to sync? You can use it to just sync your music, movies, and tv shows if you want and don't want to have to erase your apps. You can do the same things just as quickly with iCloud and even more things such as contact syncing, calendar syncing, and more.

    I hope I helped.

  • What is the best way to sync contacts and calendars

    Advice please
I am pulling my hair out trying to determine the best way to sync my work computer using outlook and exchange, my iphone and my mac at home.
In an ideal world I want to have two calendars that is home and work, two sets of contacts that is home and work. And all appear on on outlook, iphone and my mac at home
I also have Linkedin Contacts (about 690).They appear to be pulled in separately into outlook via the LinkedIn Addin.
At the moment I have certain contacts who appear three times on my iphone, and its not obvious which database they are coming from.
I accept you cannot sync outlook secondary calendars to google, therefore what is the best way to set this all up.
Any advice would be very welcome.

The only way to do that is to use Exchange server.

  • Best way to sync google contacts/calendar

Just bought iPad2, and am wondering the best way to sync my contacts and calendars from google to my MacBook and iPad (my mac and phone sync to google and need to add ipad). My MacBook doesn't have Lion so I'm guessing that I wouldn't be able to keep it updated via iCloud at this point? Is iTunes the best way to go until I update my Mac?
    Thanks!

    The methods do different things
Push notifications just tell you an Item has been updated and will give you the ItemId of that item. You then need to get that item and work out the changes
SyncFolderItems and Pull Notifications are very simular in that they provide a list of updates the underlying Sync mech is a little different Watermarks vs SyncState. In comparison to Push notifications these will consume more bandwidth and require more
    requests to the server.
    >Using Filter and FindItems
Would just require more requests to the server to do the same thing. However no matter the method you use it will still require you bind to the Item that is modified using GetItem to work out what's changed etc and all these method have challenges around
getting deleted items. The underlying code for Pull notifications and SyncFolderItems is petty simple my suggestion would be you write a test application yourself to see.
Saying which is better really depends on what your trying to achieve. Eg if need to make the most minimalistic number of requests to the server then push notifications would be best to track changes see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/dn458791(v=exchg.150).aspx which lists the differences in bandwidth.
Other things you need to consider are throttling which maybe not a problem OnPremise but will be if you move into the cloud or Office365.
    Cheers

  • Best way to sync contacts and calendars to non apple devices

Hi. I need to be ale to share my calendars and contacts so I can access them on non apple devices.
I've tried using google but find the syncing of contacts from osx address book to be really unreliable. Does anyone have any advice on the best way to do it?

If you want a more open system use Google instead of iCloud, but iCloud is supported on OSX, IOS, Windows, and with the purchase of a few apps can be made to work (although not with all features) on Android systems.
I have no idea if it will work on a Windows phone.

  • Is there a way to sync my Outlook calendar to my phone calendar?

I would like all of my events in my Outlook calendar to sync to my phone.  I'm not sure how to do this?

Are you using Outlook.com or do you have the desktop version included in Microsoft Office?  Also, are you connected to an Exchange server for your Outlook email/calendar?

  • Best way to sync Outlook 2007 calendar with Exchange on SBS 2003

I currently have Vista and Outlook 2007.
My email, contacts and calendar are all in a OST file, which syncs to our Windows SBS 2003 server and the Exchange installed on it.
How should I configure my iPhone and iTunes, in order to have my calendar in iPhone?
After trying for several times to sync through iTunes without any success (could never have any items imported to the iPhone) I did create an Exchange account on my iPhone with the IP address of our SBS server, and my account details, and now all my items seem to appear (however they all have Accept/Maybe/Refuse buttons).
Is this the correct way? Will I get alarms for my appointments, even if I don't accept them on the iPhone?
    Thank you!

OK, I think I figured it out, with Apple's iCloud instructions and a little help from campus tech support. This only applies to people using Outlook with Microsoft Exchange.
Enable iCloud on your computer (running Lion) and your iPhone. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html
Then go to your iPhone's Mail icon, click on Add Account > Microsoft Exchange and enter your login info.
Doing this transferred my work email and calendar to my phone wirelessly.

  • Easy way to transfer 5800XM contacts / calendar to...

    Hi
I've taken the plunge with the S2 on my new contract.
I know I can copy contacts on to SIM card - but as I understand a lot of stuff won't transfer correctly like this e.g. >1 phone number, added details (email & home addresses etc.).
Is there a better way to ensure most complete accurate transfer of information (including calendar entries  - birthdays etc.) ?
    thanks

There's a much better way than a limited service as suggested above.
What you need to do is create a google account which you'll need anyway for a SGS2. Now you need to manually create a syncML account on your 5800xm using your google details.
When set up correctly your contacts will be synced to google's server and will also sync to your new phone. If you've yet to use the SGS2 your contacts will appear automatically during the set up procedure after you enter your google account details.
You should be able to adapt these instructions to create a syncML profile on your 5800xm:

I used this method when I switched from symbian to android but still use it today when I switched from android to windows phone. My contacts now sync effortlessly on all my devices, Lumia 800, N9, Galaxy Tab and even a trial symbian I had recently.

  • What is the best way to sync an Outlook calendar, contacts, etc. with a Moto X?

I am willing to buy syncing software if it works.  From what I have seen it appears I need software that syncs to Google and then it will be on my phone.  Is this correct?  Or is there a better way?

I know how convenient it is to have everything synched on your device sooosally. We support Backup Assistant Plus/Verizon Cloud as the primary option to backup your contacts and media. I have provided additional information below to assist you.

For syncing outlook and Google, I recommend searching the Play Store for specific apps.
