Easiest way to guide people to submit review

From what I can tell, the only way to submit a review for a podcast is through the GUI client (be it OSX or iOS). From what I can tell, there does not seem to be a web-based option for submitting a review (or am I wrong on this). Given the first statement, in your collective opinion, what would be the easiest way to instruct someone on the steps to submit a review. It seems to me that they have to navigate the iTunes Store itself to do it vs. say doing it directly from the podcast they are listening to.

Yeah, sadly, that is what I was thinking was the case. What I am likely going to do is do a screen capture video of the process and put it in the newsletter. I have had quite a few guests on the podcasts and want to reach out and get some posted reviews to help with the ranking. Want to make it as easy as possible for them to understand how to do it.
Thanks again Roger.

  • Easiest Way to obtain Wireless Internet from laptop?

I seem to be getting no responses from my last topic so i've decided to try to ask a more general question.  Ive tried netcfg, ive tried wifi-radar, i can't seem to get any of them to work, specifically because ifconfig is not on arch linux apparently.  I was just wondering if somebody new how most people install wireless internet into arch, i have been working on this for at least 5 hours with no luck.  I've tried modifying /etc/rc.conf, the wireless-wep file under /etc/network.d many times, and i just can't seem to make anything work.
Im really just looking for someone to point out a guide to an easy way to get wireless internet or the easiest way or the most popular way that most users obtain wifi. thanks

You should have waited. Someone did reply.

netcfg works fine for me. And ifconfig is available. Use the pkgfile program from pkgtools to find it.

    It's in the wiki.

I am using Iphoto 11 ver 9.4.3 on mac using oxs 10.8.5 i want to export calendar projects to an external hard drive. my goal is to store them in an external hard drive so it doesn't use up memory on the mac hard drive. is it possible to copy the specific projects without copying the entire library? what is the easiest way to do this? i have tried export and import but it didn't seem to work.

    What do you not understand?
You can duplicate the iPhoto library (command - D ) and delete everything except the project and its photos from the copy and move that
    Or
However the calendar takes very little space - it is simpy database entries - it is the photos in the calendar that take space - and for most people you would wnat to keep those photos in your library
you can use a photo in 50 calendars and it still is only one photo in your library - as I explained calenders do not exist as such - they are simply database entries telling iPhotop how to display the calendar - they take almost no space at all

  • Easiest way to pass data to/from subpanel?

I am new to subpanels and am kind of overwhelmed by the various responses I've read on the forums about this issue.  Some people use named references, others user events, others queues...and right now I guess I've yet to see an example that was really clear for me to understand.
In my case I have lots of different controls and indicators within my subpanel.  Two main things I need to do:
    1. I need to pass the VI that gets loaded into the subpanel a single string and a single numeric
    2. When there is an event on the subpanel (either a value change event for any control, or a mouse up event), I need to pass out a reference to the control that caused the event.  The top-level VI will then process the top level event.
So that's it....2 inputs (1 string, 1 numeric), 1 output (a ctrl ref).  Both inputs will be changing regularly as data from a telnet connection is read, and the output is driven entirely by user interaction with the subpanel (i.e. it's independent of the inputs).
What's the easiest way to do this?
    thanks

    bmishoe wrote:
I was thinking about it some more...the ctrl reference that I said I wanted to pass out - it could just as easily be a string.  The label of the control has indices as part of it's name that I use to index an array to extract a string.  There's no reason I couldn't do that within the subpanel and simply pass out the string itself.
So to modify my question slightly - the VI loaded into the subpanel takes in a string and a numeric and outputs a string, and I want the top level VI to execute an event structure each time the output string changes.
    thanks...
If that's how you want to handle it, you should have 3 inputs, String, Value and User event, and inside the VI you check if the string has changed, in which case you generate an event. The Main VI will subscribe to the event and execute it.
The event has ofcourse string data so you'll send the data up to Main vi.
Easier would ofcourse to simply have the string output from the subvi and update the main vi's indicator each time.
Whether you show it in a subpanel or as a popup vi is just a visual thing, the VI should work the same.

  • HT1349 i have itunes installed on a laptop, i want transfer to this new computer, easiest way please!

i have itunes installed on a computer i no longer use and wis to transfer to thia new laptop, easiest way please

"iTunes" itself is a computer program (application).  If you want to move it, re-install it.  Otherwise I presume you mean your iTunes library (music, movies, etc.):
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

  • What is the best and easiest way to speed up a Mac-MINI?

What is the best and easiest way to speed up a Mac Mini without adding memory?

I'd tried to reply yesterday to your question but for some reason it didn't go anywhere and I got a red message box in the Discussion post area with "error." After trying three times, including  log-out, clear cookies from browser (and history) and back in, I still was unable to add my post with links to resources for your Mini, here. And the last time I tried that, the copied text also went missing as I found it gone after considering to make a Text document of it, for later posting.
Anyway, the http://iFixit.com site has guides on how to replace RAM in the computer you have. Note there are different models shown and from what I remember, yours is the last 'old look' Mini with an optical drive. The model after that is thin, a 2010 model with slot in front for discs; the next one has no internal optical drive.
RAM specs:  2 - 204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM (replace pair) up to 8GB total. Best price would be an online vendor of repute, once you know about what they sell for, you could ask a local mac expert if they could get you a better than retail price. I get ram from OEMPCworld and shipping is about $1. including insurance to my post office box, priority or 1st class. At about half retail. Crucial (website) offers parts, too; and so does OWC (other world computing).
In addition, I recommended checking into the build specs and quality of the OWC (esales) site for external enclosures with their own power supply, for hard disk drive; for storage and bootable clones on different partitions. And see about Bombiche Carbon copy cloner, it is a commercial product now, not donationware. I've used it successfully to make competely bootable clones on a suitable external HDD (drive should have own power supply, too) A 750GB HDD in a self-powered enclosure that can boot Mac OS X from a clone, is a good start on backing up your upgraded OSX in a way you can clone it back into an empty, wiped or new HDD inside the computer; and it can run from the external. You can't necessarily use a TimeMachine that way.
This should be your Mini -- check other indicators to be sure:
    http://www.ifixit.com/Device/Mac_Mini_Model_A1283
A serial number lookup site such as the one I end up using because I had it bookmarked is OK: http://www.powerbookmedic.com/identify-mac-serial.php & also have mactracker http://mactracker.ca
Anyway, before I time out or exceed post content(?) This is not all I meant to write before.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • What's the easiest way to make a password system? 10 Duke Points!

    Hello everyone,
What's the easiest way to make a password system in java?
I'd like to be able to:
    1) store passwords for about 6 people.
    2) have the people only interact with my program using my Eclipse console with no GUIs, pop-ups or Swing code.
    3) let the people have the ability to create/delete their own passwords and logins. (ideally)
Having searched around the Internet, it seems that the options are to:
    A) have code that allows users create files, write to files, read from files.
    B) have code that serializes objects - this seems pretty difficult.
    C) have code that has a hash table of some kind - although I don't really know hash tables very well and am not sure if they can store data over time unless the program is always running (which is an option).
    D) use some sort of javadoc like PassWordCallback - this one looks the easiest as the code already seems to be there but I'm not really sure how to include this type of stuff in my code.
    E) have code that allows users to input their password, which I've given them on a piece of paper, and then allow the code to match it to a file - this wouldn't let the users create their own passwords though.
    Anyway, hope you can help!
I have a 'Head First Java' book and a 'Java for Dummies' book if you know of anything directly useful in these books.

Using GUIs and Swing is really easy, I have only been using Java for a week now and I have already made a simple application with events. First of all Swing is a package and you need to import it (as described in the documentation).
When you click on the Swing package in the documentation to the second frame you'll see JFrame when you scroll down. JFrame's are the main windows on your screen. JFrame is a class therefore it needs to be instantiated (making an instance of that class so we can use it). After all, everything is based around classes.
    JFrame frame = new JFrame("Title here");
Note: The "JFrame" before the frame vaiable name is the "data type" of the variable, really we're making an object type (I think its called) just like we'd do String frame if we wanted to make a frame variable that is of type String.
As explained in the [JFrame section of the documentation|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/javax/swing/JFrame.html] in the "Constructor Summary" section is the different types of Construtors that are made available to us when we instantiate the JFrame class. One of the construtors available are:
    JFrame(String title)
... which is exactly what I did above in the brackets/parentheses (its telling us we can add a String title).
Remember constructors do not have any return type or anything and is not a method, because it is the same name as the class and when we instantiate we call the constructor. And so the JFrame class has many constructors, one is for making a title for our JFrame and another is just instantiating without a title. If there wasn't the JFrame(String title) and just JFrame() constructor, we wouldn't be able to add a title as we made an instance of JFrame.
So once we've made an instance of JFrame we have all the methods available (and all of the methods are shown in the API documentation).
Hope you understand now :).Wow. Thanks a lot bastones_. I think Swing is just a bit beyond me at the moment and will require quite a bit of time for me to master. Is there not an easier way of making a password system? I think that A (see above) seems the easiest for me at the moment and D (see above) would be nice if I could just figure out how to use the javadoc.

  • What's the easiest way to back up and restore my hard drive to a new HD

I'm going to upgrade my hard drive to a larger one on my MacBook. I have an external backup drive. What is the easiest way to save all my data (documents, emails, etc) and applications and restore them to the new hard drive in my MacBook? I have Leopard OS.
I've read on the forum everything from using Time Machine to the Disk Utility. I have been backing up everything to my external HD using Time Machine.
Can you point me to a step by step process.

I don't use TM, so here's my method that I've used many times for the same thing you are doing.
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the backup or destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the startup or source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Now, boot from the clone to be sure it works correctly by opening Startup Disk, selecting the external volume, then clicking the Restart button. If all is well the computer will boot from the external drive. Now shut down the computer and disconnect the external drive. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery. Install the new hard drive. Once you've completed the installation connect the external drive and restart the computer.
    Now do the following:
    Extended Hard Drive Preparation
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger or Leopard.)
    2. After DU loads select your new hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID (only required for Intel Macs) then click on the OK button. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the drive size.
Steps 4-6 are optional but recommended for a drive that has never been formatted before, if the format type is not Mac OS Extended, if the partition scheme has been changed, or if a different operating system (not OS X) has been installed on the drive.
After formatting is completed use DU to clone the external drive's system back to the new internal drive. The external drive becomes the Source and the internal drive will be the Destination.

  • 100% Cheapest and easiest way to Charge iPhone 3G in your car - Works

OK So i have spent a long time in these forums, and other forums, looking for a way to charge the iPhone 3G in my car. There have been lots of posts explaining why current chargers wont work and because of the firewire pins being removed etc, yet noone has posted the cheapest, quickest and easiest way to combat this problem.
All you have to do is puirchase the following item for £6, there may be a store right by you, plus your existing charger cable into the outlet (because your existing charger cable has the correct pin configuration) and it will charge straight away.
    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=99487&criteria=car%20charger%20usb& doy=3m8
Or search for item A66GA on www.maplin.com if the link doesnt work
Its cheap, easy, works, (i know this because i bought one) and it wont burn a hole in your pocket.
This unit puts out exactly the correct requirment for the iPhone 3G to charge, 5v at 1000mAh. This is what is written on the box, ignore the FAQ response on the site.
The only problem is you have to take your cable with you if you need to charge in the house, but im sure you can buy a spare cable somewhere quite easily because if you broke yours for example, you wouldnt be able to charge at all would you? and although Apple arnt the best im sure they would understand they need to offer speare cables.
Hope this solves the issues people are having.
    Cheers,

You can't beat this deal. Buy this:

    and this:

monoprice is by far the way to go for accessories. Screen protector is dirt cheap as well.

Is there a way for two people to play music on Apple TV?  We both have itunes [she on windows, me on mac [mt lion].  We can turn on home sharing but we have separate email accounts.

    Use Boot Camp Assistant in
    Applications/Utility
    Remove the partition.
There is also a full pdf help guide built in Help menu there.
There are other methods also. Use OS X DVD and delete it but you can't do so while booted from your hard drive.
Memory = "RAM" that programs use and get loaded into to run
Your partition is part of hard drive physical storage where OS and applications are kept until needed.
And yes, Mac needs to have 20GB or 20% minimum to avoid problems and will run slower with such small amount of free space.
You could also do one of a number of ways to backup and then boot from another device and reformat and then restore your drive.
A "Mac Pro" is a workstation with multiple internal drive bays so really easy to backup, put Windows on its own hard drive; and no need to have someone else do anything - at all.

  • Easiest way to reinstall Mac OS X 10.6.8 over Lion without formatting hard drive!

What is the easiest way to reinstall Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard)
over Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) without formatting the hard drive!
    Any ideas?

You can do a dual boot.
    In Lion, open Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility.
Click on the actual hard drive (not the 'Macintosh HD' partition).
Click on the 'Partitions' tab; then the + a the bottom of the 'Partition Layout'. Resize your new partition if you want.
Make sure the format is 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Click Options and make sure the partition map scheme is GUID partition table. (can't remember if this is necessary).
    Click Apply.
Insert your SL DVD and restart. During the restart press and hold 'C' so it boots from the DVD.
Choose your new partition to install SL.
One word of caution, you may lose your Lion Recovery HD partition. If so, you would need to reinstall Lion on top of itself to recreate it.
In terminal type...  diskutil list  and see if you see that partition after your SL install.

  • What's the easiest way

    Hello everyone ,
I am new to IWeb and making wepages all together , i was wandering what's the easiest ( Or hard way if no easy way exist) way to make discussion board using Iweb
and is there a way to make people post in a Bolg if i make one.
    Thanks,
    Mohammed

    Hi MHI
There is no Forum/Messageboard in iWeb as you noticed... What you would have to do is take a Forum like phpBB's ( http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/ ) which is great and I used for a long time until I had to drop it due to lack of visitors writing on it . Upload it to your server and then make a link from iWeb to your Forum. You could also embed it in an iWeb-Page through an iframe but iframes do not work very well... There are always issues with sizes and not displaying the whole site and so on.
If you don't want to upload a forum to your server then you can open one for free on a freeforum host like this one http://www.forumfree.com/ (then link it from your website or iframe as mentioned before)
People can't post to your blog. The only thing they can do is comment. Activate Comments if you are publishing to .Mac or use http://web.mac.com/cbrantly/iWeb/Software/iComment.html to insert comment functionality, very easy to use (you can also insert comments functionality by yourself for free http://www.haloscan.com/ but iComment makes it easier).
    Enjoy your day,

  • Easiest way to know the query group name?

    Hello All,
This has been nagging at me for quite some time now. Would appreciate you inputs on the ways to find out the query group name for a set of queries we see on the UI.
The obvious method is to search your query group from the list of query groups that system shows when we navigate to Setup->Queries and Reports->Query Groups. Do we have some other ways as well.
    Thanks In Advance
    Devesh

    Hi Devesh,
If you know the query definition then the easiest way to find the query group would be to use "Search Query Groups by Queries Used" query on the Query Groups list page. This query allows you to select a query definition and returns the query group using the query.
Or you could use "Query Group Review" query on the Query Groups list page. This returns all queries within all Query Groups. You can further refine your search by Query Name or Internal Name of the query you are interested in.
If you want to do a general search for all buy-side list page or buy-side picker page query groups, search for <buylist> and <buypick> respectively.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Vikram

  • Easiest way to install InTune on remote PCs.

    Hi Everybody,
We have about fifteen people who are on the road, and I want to install InTune on their PCs.. All of these are new machines with Windows 8. For security reasons there is no remote access software installed on these PCs.... What is the quickest and easiest
way for me to install InTune on the fifteen PCs.
    regards,
    Jonathan.

Magic. Honestly. There is no easy way.
If the users have local admin permissions (in which case your should reload their systems because they are probably already owned by the Russian mob) then you could simply send them the link to install the agent or the entire exe and necessary cert.
You could use meeting software like GoToMeeting to temporarily take control of those remote PCs.
Ultimately though, it requires physical access, connectivity, and admin permissions. There's no magic way to provide these.
