Easiest way to open a text alert on the home sceen...

As im fairly new to my E71 this might be a silly question but when i get a text alert on my home screen is there a button (or a way) i can open it without having to scroll to it first?
I know if i hold the left softkey down it will read it but i would rather open it.
Thanks.
Dave.

  • What is the easiest way to open an application from Labview?

    I need to open an application from labview and depending on a user's selection, load one out of a group of files for the application that is opened. I need to know what is the best or easiest way to open an application and load a file that is used by the application based on a selection.

    Here is the response that I got from Cognex when I asked them about how to do this. Do you understand what they are talking about?
    In order to do something like this you will probably want to look into the Display Control/SDK for In-Sight. The Display Control gets installed along with In-Sight Explorer and includes a control that can be used in an environment like Labview to communicate with In-Sight sensors while the SDK is an enhanced version of the Display Control that gives you more control and functionality. I am not very familiar with the Labview environment so I will give some code snippets in VB.Net and hopefully you can adjust them as necessary. Specifically I see 3 possible avenues to do this:
     1) Using the Display Control you have access to many of the dialog boxes that are used in In-Sight Explorer including the Load Job dialog box. You can spawn this dialog box through a line of code similar to cvsInSightDisplay1.Edit.OpenJob.Execute(). I am not certain if the Labview environment will be able to spawn and display this dialog though. 2) With the addition of the SDK (additional purchase) you can directly access sensor properties including the job. There is a method called LoadJobFile to load jobs from on the sensor and LoadJobFileLocally to load jobs from the host machine. A typical line of code might be cvsInSightDisplay1.InSight.File.LoadJobFile("myjob1.job").3) If Labview cannot handle the dialogs and the SDK is not an option for you then you may still be able to do this using Native Mode commands. Native Mode commands are sent through a socket on the telnet port (typically port 23). Keep in mind that you will need to handle the username/password prompt and response when you first open the socket before issuing any Native Mode commands. The command to load a job file from the sensor would be the Load File command which would be a string similar to "LF myjob1.job". The Native Mode commands are documented in the In-Sight Explorer help file.

  • Easiest Way to make scrolling text with color

    What is the easiest way to make scrollable text that I can
    set to whatever font I want (embeded of course)
    have it look very well anti-aliased; like most Flash text, not like it's being read out of a regular system or browser window. (the text will be big so no probs)
    have different portions of the text be different colors so I can highlight certain words and leave others alone
    use actionscript to load text content into it
    maybe make (all) the text semi transparent for design purposes
    I'm going to use some action script to load some XML content into the text areas or whatever. Any of you know of any easy ways of accomplishing this? or have a link to any type of tutorial? (at least for Flash CS3 and above of course, along with ActionScript 3)

    Go to Lee Brimlow's website. It has some great tutorials, including one on loading an XML file.

  • Is there a way to open a new window from the "Go" menu in Mavericks?

    First, as others have already stated.....make sure the checkbox is deselected for "open folders in tabs instead of windows" in Finder Preferences.
    If you're like me and don't like tabs very much, there is a way to make folders always open in windows with a simple click (I'm using Mavericks 10.9.5).  Go to a root folder (for example, the Documents Folder), open it, and select View > Hide Toolbar, then all folders within that root folder will open in a new window.
    As an alternative method, any folder can be opened in a new window by holding down either Command Key while clicking the folder. But sooner or later you will forget to hold down that key, and then clicking on a folder will open in a tab (which will automatically resize the window and cause much aggravation).
    The Hide Toolbar trick will also work with any folder present on the Desktop. It will make all folders inside that folder open in new windows.
    To make the Applications Folder open in a new window when opening it from the menu bar at the top of the screen, you will have to open the main hard drive folder and use the Hide Toolbar trick. This will cause all folders inside it to open in new windows.
    Hope this helps.

    I dropped my iphone 4s and the screen is black with some blue lines.  IS there a way to view my text messages on the computer?

    For instance, DigiDNA's DiskAid will let you extract your messages from the phone in human-readable format. Like .pdf.

    Refer this article to reset Winsock to it's default.  Your PCTools may have inserted LSP.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123?viewlocale=en_US
    After reset and restarting windows, you may get a prompt to remap LSP, click no.

    Three new tabs open every time I press the home icon. I and two others have looked through all my settings and have contacted Mozilla (no response) and can't figure out why this is happening? Anyone have a clue how to stop this incredibly annoying problem from continuing?

    Sounds like you are in Full screen mode. Run your cursor to the top of the page and click on the blue arrows on the right hand side.

  • Recommended way to open a text file included in a jar?

    Forgive me if this seems like an ignorant question, but I keep reading two different things about loading resources in the javadocs and forums, and can't seem to connect them...
    Say you want to open a text file and read the contents into a String or a List. Apparently, the preferred way to do this is something like:
    fileName = "myFile.txt";
    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(new File(fileName)));
    String line;
    while ((line = reader.readLine()) != null) {...}
    Now say you want to distribute your app in a jar file, with the text file included in the jar file. The above method won't work, because a FileReader operates on a File, and as I understand it, once myFile.txt is packed into the jar file, it's no longer a "file".
    So what do you do? I keep reading that the best way to open the jarred text file is to use something like this:
    InputStream is = getClass().getResourceAsStream(fileName);
    Here's where I get confused: InputStream, and all of its subclasses, are now supposedly dispreferred for reading character data (in preference to Reader, as above). But no subclass of Reader can wrap around an InputStream, which would facilitate the reading of character data greatly, with methods like readLine().
    So my question is: What's the best way to read a text file from within a .jar?
    Thanks,
    Gregory

    great! glad it's working
    here is a statement from the javadoc
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/io/InputStreamReader.html
    For top efficiency, consider wrapping an InputStreamReader within a BufferedReader. For example:
    BufferedReader in
    = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    kind regards

  • Easiest way to fade in text?

    Hi Guys
    What is the easiest way to fade in a paragraph of text line by line? I'm creating the animation in Indesign, exporting as a FLA file and then converting it to html5 with Wallaby.
    This soloution is very glichy. It only works sometimes! When I swipe the page and go back the page with the animation – sometimes this does not work!
    Has anybody got any other solutions?!
    Any help appreciated!
    Cheers

    Animation will become a new trade to InDesign users. While Flash didn't really lure many InDesign user into the realms of animation, ADPS will certainly PUSH them over the Edge (notice the pun...)
    Keep in mind, that it's just like with photography: a special tool for such elements will be more capable for that task than some restricted features in InDesign. We never wondered why we can't do so much with photo's or Photoshop files in InDesign, except for crops, transformations, transparancy, and showing/hiding a casual layer. Tap your heels twice in InDesign, and you're off to Photoshop, with the original file.
    So my guess is that animation will follow suit and therefore will be better off in a separate application (like Adobe Edge, or Mac-only Hype). Maybe a simple motion path or quick and dirty bounce animation will become available (as the Flash-inclined Animation panel already offered). But vast animation is a dfferent trade for competent users, requiring different tools, integrating on the Suite level.

  • Best Short and easiest way to open ps ( PostScript) In Linux ?

    Can anybody write me stepwise the best way to open postscript files in Linux.What should we install at Linux to open postscript files easily? Which files we are in need to install to open the ps files in Linux Operating System ?
    I am new to Linux ! Please also tell me same for pdf files!
    Thanks in advance

    And as for working with .ps files, the best way I've found to play with them are to use `ps2pdf` to convert them into a PDF and then open them with xpdf or GhostView.
    To see if you have these installed, try a `man ps2pdf` from the console, and look for KGhostView under the "Graphics" section of the RedHat (or similar "Start"-like) menu.

  • TS2755 Is there a way to retrieve deleted text messages on the iphone 4S?

    I've read messages aren't truly deleted. Is there a way to get back text messages that were accidentally deleted?

    If you have a backup of the phone with the messages on there, you can restore to that backup. Understand however, that anything done on the device since that backup will be lost.

  • Has anyone had issues with not hearing the text alerts on the iPhone 5?

    hello i have been having issues with my iphone 5 not hearing the text alert tones.it will go from time to time & only hear the vibrating sound, The wired part is all other alerts work fine , just text.
    Has anyone having this same issue ? Also i noticed sometimes when i text, i'll see some crazy blury lines go across my screen like as i text it will move across any help?

    I have had that issue with no text alert sound and also with calls, no ring for the call but then I got a missed call or voicemail alert. Never had the blurry lines though. Right after I upgraded, the ring changed to a very short version of what I have selected and only rang once, other times not at all. This was a very big problem since I am working from my car most of the day and get a lot of calls and texts.  I did a reset with home button and button on the top as described in a post somewhere here on the forum and the problems stopped. So far so good. Give reset a try!
