Easy Question how-to use iDVD

Hello,
I open up iDVD and click "Create New Project" and then pick a theme from the theme menu ("Shelves/Extras"). I go to media and drop my .avi video in the "Drop Zone 1". When I go to the DVD Map, there is an "X" on the left hand corner of the first box telling me "The current project contains no movies or slideshows. The second box which contains me shelve says "Menu contains no buttons". When I go back to the shelves, it won't let me put a button in.
I have no clue how to work this....
Can anyone give me some help?

Easy question - how to increase number of recent files in menu?

This is for CS5 if it matters.
I'm an infrequent Illustrator user (at best) but I have what I hope is an easy question: I want to increase number of recent files showing in the menu.
I can't find a preferece to set such as in PS and almost every other application on the face of the earth. I've tried to reset the preferences file (start Illustrator with ctrl-alt-shift held down) but I'm stuck at 4 files, which I assume is the anemic default option.
Is there an easy way to do this that Adobe has hidded somewhere? As expected, it can't be found in the help, I can't find it on the forums, or even on the net, but I do know it can be done because I can see other installs showing lots of files in the list.

This might be because of a new feature that you can turn off for each object, and alltogether. When you create a new document at the bottom, make sure 'Align New Objects to Pixel Grid' is unchecked. After you have created a new file, you can still go into the 'TRANSFORM' palette (SHIFT+8), use the little right top menu, and make sure 'Align New Objects to Pixel Grid' is unchecked. And if you want to get fancy with each object; you can select an object, and look at the 'TRANSFORM' palette at the bottom is a place to uncheck the 'Align to Pixel Grid' at your disposall.

Interface/Method question (how to use the method insert_table)

Hi people!
I'm working with DOI (desktop office integration).
So far I've been able to reflect flat variables from my ABAP program into a Word Doc, but when it comes to internal tables I'm not sure how to achieve this.....
I find out in the interface i_oi_word_processor_document the method insert_table, but I can't find a single simple example on how to use it....
If no one knows how to use this method, does anyone know how to reflect an internal table fron my program into a Word Doc by another mean?

Newbie question: Should I use iDVD o iMovie?

I use a Sony camcorder with the mini-DV tapes. I have about 20 old tapes I'd like to turn into DVDs. This is my first time using iDVD or iMovie.
I'd like to keep things simple: Download the movies to my iMac, make a handful of chapter points and burn to DVD.
Not interested in adding soundtracks, trimming the clips, etc etc. Just keep it simple.
Each 1 hour tape typically has about 8-12 individual clips of a few minutes each (all video is my little kids). I want to be able to access each clip via an upfront menu selection (like a normal movie DVD).
Should I use iDVD to do this or iMovie??
If iDVD, what are some starter tips for me. Thanks!!

EJB question: How to use abstract class in writing a session bean?

I had written an abstract class which implements the session bean as follow:

This abstract class is to write the backup image to the database so that other session beans extending it only need to implement the details in editRecord(Object Obj) and they do not need to take care of the operation of making the backup image.
However, some several questions for me are:
1. If I write a class ScheduleSessionBean extending the above abstract class and the according 2 interfaces ScheduleSession and ScheduleSessionHome for this session bean (void update(Object obj); defined in ScheduleSession), do I still need to write the interfaces for LoggingSession and LoggingSessionHome?
2. If I wrote the interface LoggingSession extending EJBObject where it defined the abstract methods "void update(Object obj);" and "void setSessionContext(SessionContext ctx);", that this meant I needed to write the ScheduleSession to implement the Logging Session?
3. I used OC4J 9.0.4. How can I define the ejb-jar.xml in this case?

Let me suggest that you create a "Logging" class as a regular java class, and give your "ScheduleSessionBean" a member that is an instance of the "Logging" class.
Alternatively, the "ScheduleSessionBean" can extend the "Logging" class and implement the "SessionBean" interface.

Till SP3,
- From Mobile Apps for SAP Mobile Documents, you can't edit shares (incl. adding members, creating public link for existing shares etc.). You have to do this from Web interface. The Web Interface is mobile ready and you can use it to edit the shares from your mobile.
- Sharing folders is not supported so far.
We will be developing these in next service pack - SP4.

How to use idvd themes in fcp?

anyone here know how i can use/import the themes from idvd and put pictures in it so i can put it in the fcp timeline like the templates in motion?thanks!

I am not sure if you can just import them as such, you may need to 'recreate' them in Motion. There is a way which is a bit complex, maybe someone else have a more refined and elegant way. The only thing that comes to my mind is to place my images in iDVD and finalise the title sequence. Then I would burn a DVD (or create a Disk image) and then dub this DVD on tape and re-capture or use one of the rippers to extract the DVD content. This is what comes to my mind, otherwise, it may be simpler to recreate it in Motion.

The Oracle Database Cloud Service uses the Oracle Database. You do not have access to the underlying operating system to make the choice you are seeking.
When the Oracle Compute Service comes out later this year, you could use one of those "infrastructure only" environments and load MySQL into it. You would be responsible for all maintenance of MySQL and the environment.

Hi... What is the error message you get when using external tables?
You must create a control center connection in the Connection Explorer.

Easy Question -How to start ALUI 6.5 portal?

I am new in Aqua logic, after fixing all my database problem waiting to start ALUI 6.5 portal. My ALUI config manager link is: https://home2003.home2003.win2003mydomain.com:9090/cm/login.jsf which works fine. Also http://192.168.0.100:8282 works fine. Finally http://home2003.home2003.win2003mydomain.com:8282/imageserver/ - this link works as well.
Here is my environment: OS: W2003
APP Srv: Tomcat, Port: 8282
Database: Sqlserver 2005 Enterprise
Server IP: 192.168.0.100 or home2003
Also comepletd the following steps:
1. Lunched tomcat manager and deployed portal.war files.
2. Restarted Tomcat and found a new directory structure created like : E:\Tomcat6\work\Catalina\localhost\portal\WEB-INF\. It has folders "classes" and "lib" . "Classes" is empty.
1. what will be the URL to start the portal? I tried following ways, none of them worked:

Quick question - how to use flat files OWB 10gR2

Sorry, really dumb question here. I'm using the OWB client on my windows machine, but the database is on a separate UNIX box.
The data file I'm trying to access is in
/usr/local/test
and the DBA's have created a directory object ("TEST") inside the database with read privs on that /usr/local/test directory.
Given all that, exactly what do I need to do to:
a) create the file location in OWB
b) "see" the flat file in it
When I try to set the directory up, it seems like the client is looking at my local drive instead of connecting to the Unix box?

Indeed... if you use the Import metadata wizard, it will look for the flat files on your local machine, but this is only for you to define the layout of this file... when you actually read this file (in a process flow for example) the flat file must be on the server where your OWB repository is installed... notice that this is not necessarily the same server where your database is running.
