EASY SEARCH THROUGH FRIENDS LIST BY COUNTRY AND OR STATE NOT JUST ALPHABET !

Well my Idea is simple and basic I have almost 3000 friends and sometimes want to search them by area or state instead of alphabet , example if IM in GA I should be able to see all of the friends from that state instead of trudging through each letter to see who lives in the state , it would be helpful quick and convenient to allow users to have more options when searching through there friends list by different criteria such as age gender or most important area or State that would be extremely helpful and cut down on the amount of times I have to sift through my friends , so if IM in NY I can go to my friends list and there will be a list of state that I have friends in I can then click on that and then I can see all of the people that are my friends in that area, that would be awesome. I tried using JCOMBOBOX but there is no method in this class there i can pass the data at run time.

My MacBook w/ OSX 10.6.8 cannot access my external Time Machine Backup USB Drive. It says it is a Read Only drive. When I went to change permissions I found all pernissions were listed as "Custom" and I could not reset them to "Read Write". Any help!

This can be done easily with ethernet.
Please follow the instructions strictly.
To make it easier I want you to do this overnight so you can turn off all your current connection to the internet.
Just go to the airport fan in to the top right and turn airport off.
Get ethernet cable and connect the laptop to the TC lan port.. ie <-> ones.
Press and hold the reset on the TC for about 10sec. until the front led flashes rapidly.
Open the airport utility.. go to manual setup and change the wireless to off. (so other people around you cannot join your network of one).
Ignore all the errors.. they won't stop the backup working.
Go to the TM and reselect the backup target disk as the TC.
It should start after 2min and run through to completion.
That is it.. for a backup of many GB it might take a few hours.. so make sure the laptop has power plugged in and the sleep is off.. (on early ones I think this is needed but I am a late arrival to the scene).. sleep doesn't affect later OS.

You can also use an app like My Contacts Backup to back up the contacts on your phone as attachment to an email that you send to yourself. If you need to, you can later open this email on your new phone and tap the attachment to import your contacts.

I've wondered about this issue as well. I have multiple email accounts, some old ones that I don't use much, others setup for support of particular projects/groups.
I have no idea how and/or why some notes are linked to a particular account.
I'd much prefer to have the ability to link all of them to an account of my choosing, thus when emailing from a note tied to a specific email account, that account would automatically be used to perform that email.
But more importantly, why can't we be allowed to create 'folders' that function the same way as the Finder on my Mac. This file structure could then be accessed by every iOS app and device.
This type of file structure would be a god-send for the camera roll on my phone. I HATE having all my pictures in one huge clump (cloud?)! After all, who wants to live under a cloud all the time?

Searching through a list

Hello everybody,
I have a list full of objects and I have to search through it using two String attributes inside of the objects as a key .
Now, every search I have to iterate the list comparing the String attributes until I find a match.
I'd like to know if there's a a better way to do this.

A LinkedHashMap with a combination of those Strings as the keys suggests itself as the proper solution.

I have a list containing instances of a class containing several variables, one of which is a boolean. I need to write an algorithm that will search through every class instance in that list and find the item(class instance) where that boolean is set to "true."
Here's the code I've tried so far:

In this line of code, the list is named "Questions," the class is named "Question" and the boolean within that class is named "ThisIsActiveQuestion." To re-state what I want to do, I want to go through the list and find the class
in which that boolean is set to "true."

To clear cache and cookies do the following:

#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Saved form data and logins are not sorted alphabetically anymore

Go to gmail, double click in the "username" field, suggestions appear in a drop down box. If you have more than 1 gmail account they are no longer sorted alphabetically, '''they are sorted by the order entered! '''(with the newest entered on the bottom)
I believe that this is related to the files formhistory.sqlite and signons.sqlite not being sorted properly.
Also the addon "Form History Control" will NOT sort these fields alphabetically. Setting browser.formfill.bucketSize to 99999999 or 9999999 in about:config does not work either!

Thanks for the reply but I have already searched and found that info, it does not work. Firefox is not Web Standard compliant in this regard.

Playcount and other Stats Not Sync'ing up between ITunes and Nano

Anyone know why the playcount and other stats won't sync up between an Ipod Nano and ITunes?
I am trying to get my wife's ipod set up on our shared computer. Using Windows XP, I've created seperate user accounts with seperate libraries both using the latest version of ITunes and things have worked great so far. Songs have transferred, audible works. Yet for some reason the playcount info isn't updating and it is one of the things she really wants to work.
Any thoughts?

If you are using manual updating rather than one of the automatic updating preferences, playcounts are not synced back to iTunes from the iPod.

How can I use a script to search for a list of filenames and copy them to another directory

Hi all,
I'm quite new to using scripts etc and wondered if anyone could help? I've only ever modified preset folder scripts so making one from scratch is a bit new to me, but it would also be great if anyone else has done this before if they could pass on there script and ill modify to suit my needs.
I will be recieving a tab delimited file containing a list of 150 - 200 clips every day and I need to pull those files onto a hard drive.
All of the files are housed in one folder on the internal media drive and I would like to be able to have applescript / automator / whatever either look through the tab file and then move the files in the tab file from the internal media drive to the external transport drive or I copy and paste the filenames into the script and run it and the script moves the files from the internal media drive to the external transport drive.

List metadata navigation and columns filters not working.

I'm having an issue with SP 2013 whereby if I apply a filter through metadata navigation subsequent columns filters don't get applied.
Here I've applied a filter through the navigation and it applies the filter successfully to the documents in the library
If I now apply a column filter by content type and select the value Promotion Calendar, I get the following
It appears the filter is selected and I can indeed see the filter applied via the dropdown but it doesn't apply the filter to the list view. I've confirmed this also on another environment using different columns for the metadata navigation.
The environments are patched to Dec 2013 CU.

The scenario is be default that Managed Metadata navigation tree in document libraries does not allow further filtering on other columns.
For a workaround, you can use Key Filters instead.
