Easy to swap out the HDD on a Compaq Presario cq61-424sa?

I'm thinking about purchasing a Compaq Presario cq61-424sa.
One thing that's important to me is being able to swap out HDDs when they fail or when I want to try a different OS.
How easy is it to do this on the cq61-424sa?
Also I thought this might be a good test of how decent the after-purchase care is for Compaq machines.

My late-2011 MBP is finally dying – I think the graphics card has come loose. Currently I have it working by forcing it to use integrated graphics only (as soon as I switch to dynamic the screen gets totally garbled and it eventually freezes up). Obviously not a permanent fix.
So I need to swap it out in the next couple of days. I figure I may as well upgrade to a newer version, if my budget can handle it.
Currently I have a ~1TB SSD in my computer. Ideally I'd like to just yank it from this computer and swap it into my replacement laptop. I know some of the newer ones make it difficult to switch out the HDD (and I'm not sure I can just use any SSD even in that case?). I'm wondering what the latest version of a 15" MBP is that I can just switch out the existing HDD for my SSD.
Ideally I'd have two ports for monitors, since I currently use a ridiculous contraption to use my two external monitors. But if that's not possible, the HDD swapability is more important.

Do I need to re-enable Core Storage after cloning and swapping out my HDD?

I swapped out the internal hard drive of my mid-2012 13" MacBook Pro for an SSD. I'm very pleased with the performance gains so far — it feels like a whole new Mac. I cloned my HDD to the SSD before installing using Carbon Copy Cloner and I also created a Recovery partition using the same software. Now after doing the hardware swap, verything is working perfectly — no issues at all. Here's my question:
I know that when I upgraded to Yosemite, my hard drive was converted from old-fashioned GUID partitions to the new Core Storage and a logical volume group partition. After the clone and hardware swap, I'm back to old-fashioned partitions, no more Core Storage. Do I need to manually re-enable Core Storage? (I've read about how to do this, and I feel confident I can follow the steps.) What are the benefits of this? Will a future Yosemite (hypothetical 10.10.3?) update put it back for me? Or is it fine to proceed the way I am now? I'm not currently using FileVault 2, which I know also uses Core Storage.

No, you don't have to convert to CoreStorage unless you decide to create a Fusion drive out of your SSD and HDD.

Is it really THAT easy? It looks like it just slides right out after you remove the battery and the L bracket. I just got my MacBook yesterday and want to swap out the 120 GB drive for one of the 250 GB drives. I'm looking at either a Samsung Spinpoint M series or the WD Scorpio. I can get either at NewEgg for less than $200. Any thoughts are appreciated. I'm new on this forum from the G5 forums.

Not only is it bad artwork, I have a cool custom button that I wanted to bring up the Note widget. Also, when I put the Note Widget on top of my custom button, it blocks the button's glow for the mouse over state, wven when I choose the option of making the widget transparent.
Any way my custom button could trigger the Widget Note to launch?
Any help would be much appreciated.

To use your custom icon image instead of default Note icon, you would have placed your image on top of the "transparent" widget.
To make these objects available on click of some button:
Group these two objects.
Make this group invisible in output.
Add the button which should trigger this widget.
On the button, set the action to Show this group.
To hide this group on 2nd click you need to use some advanced action and variables. Else, you can have a different button to hide this group.

Compaq Presario CQ61 - New WD3200BPVT HDD - Capacity incorrect

The original 320gb Hitachi Travelstar HDD died in my Compaq Presario CQ61. I have just replaced it with a 320gb Western Digital Scorpio Blue (WD3200BPVT). Using my original Windows 7 recovery discs I have now got the notebook up and running.
However, my issue is that explorer says that the capacity of my new disc is 67.9 GB. Where has the other 250GB gone and how do I get them back ?

Possibly this is partitioned or not partioned at all. I would strongly suggest to call the tech support and run the recovery process one more time with them on the phone.

I had to fix the cpu fan and after putting back the parts laptop i came to know it wasnt turning on.It is not even charging. only one charging light is lit, (the one on the right).when i press the power button the power light starts blinking and the light in the button too, and after that the charging light blinks three times and then stops. So i just bought a mac on ebay, its in good working condition, however i was wondering if i was able to swap out an older model logicboard for a new one. The mac i currently have is a unibody mac, MB466LL/A, and the logic board i was looking to possible switch it out with would be the (Logic Board 661-6158 820-2936-B.) Let me know if this is possible. Work on computers often and have built many pc's so that aspect will not be a problem, im just wondering if this request is feasible.

In addition, if you are talking about an older machine like a G4 or earlier with PATA drives, the Mac Pro uses SATA drives, so this is not a simple swap out, but if there's room an adapter like this might work in that situation:

so that you could use the drive in the new computer to copy the data files, not for booting the OS.
If you need to transfer files from one machine to the other, you could do this over a network, or use FW target drive mode, or get a universal bare drive cable adapter.

I have an older I-Phone (3G) that for some reason the body of the phone has split in two. This phone was a business phone and it had a lot of important information on it. I have a second phone that is also a 3G. On the broken phone there is a lot of important information that I need in my calendar. Im not worried about anything else but the calendar. I didn't have the Mobile Me account at that time or I would be having this problem. Does anybody know if I can ust switch out the sim cards. I just need to recover the old calendar, so im hoping that the calendar will transfer when I switch the sim card into the good 3G. If that doesn't work does anybody know of anyway that I can retrieve this information off of this phone?

Nothing is stored on the sim card on an iPhone. If you backed up to your computer the backup will contain your calendar events. Otherwise, if your phone isn't functioning there is no way to back up or extract your calendar at this point.
