  • Audio Driver Update, Will not play audio via HDMI cable now...

I just did a driver update for the realtek audio on my Y70 touch.   When I plug the HDMI cable into the receiver (TV & speakers), it will still transfer the image to the TV and reformat the screen, but now the audio will not play unless I make the room speakers the default audio instead of the laptop speakers...   That is just a real PITA to keep switching the default every time I wanted to do something on the big screen with my computer. Any advice on how to fix that?  Preferably without rolling back the driver that was 130MB+ of a download & install that required to restarts to apply. Thanks,                Joe

I haven't had mine long but I always have to do that with my tower system. (switch playback device for sound). I played a movie on the Z70 last night and go audio without doing anything (so it is different) but the sound level was low even though I checked the outputs were set to 100% HDMI audio required I turn up the sound at the TV end a lot to hear it. I figure I am missing something but did not want to spend the time troubleshoot, rather tha watch the Netfix movie.

  • Dolby Home Theater V4 changed to Dolby Digital Plus after Realtek Audio Driver update Windows 8.1

Hi,I'm now using Ideapad Z510. After upgraded to Windows 8.1. I'd went to the Lenovo website searching for new driver update.
But, after i install the "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.7023", the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is not running(audio sound not playing through). And, the "Dolby Digital Plus" is running instead of "Dolby Home Theater V4".
Then, when I try to reinstall the older version "Realtek Audio Driver 6.0.1.6954" from Lenovo website, the "Dolby Home Theater V4" is running again.
Truly, the "Dolby Digital Plus"'s sound is crisper and louder than "Dolby Home Theater V4". But the sound of "Dolby Home Theater V4" has more bass and more function (like Graphic Equalizer, more Intelligent Equalizer etc.).
Is this an update or what?
What should I choose? The newer driver (for Windows 8.1) or older driver (for Dolby Home Theater V4)?  Thanks. (confused now) @@

    Hi all
Could you try out DAA or DHTLightweight from my link and just install the Dolby software without overriding your Realtek Driver? I am not sure whether would it work, but worth a try. I have tried on Y460, W520 and G560 with great experience.
If the older Dolby software does not work with your existing Realtek driver, you could install the DAA or DHTLightweight with their driver to overwrite and see how it goes.
    Thank You
    Peter

  • Update Retriever fails to download Intel Chipset Support update

When I ran Update Retriever (version 4.03.0006) on my R500 that is running Windows XP/SP3, and specify machine type = 2714, and operating system = Windows XP and language = English, in the search criteria, I am presented with the following available package:
Intel Chipset Support for Widows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8
It is interesting to note that Update Retriever says that no previous version of this driver exists, yet version 9.3.0.1020 of this driver is installed on that machine.
I selected the package and the download appeared to proceed, but at the end, I was informed that “1 update failed to be downloaded.”  Selecting that link displays a box with the following information:
The following updates fail to be downloaded
    Title                                                                                       Version       Name
Intel Chipset Support for Widows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8   9.3.0.1021 CHIPSET_G1IC
When I then selected the “View history” option followed by selecting the link to “View download history”, I am informed that the following updates were downloaded successfully
    Title                        Version        Name
CHIPSET_G1IC   9.3.0.1021   Intel Chipset Support for Widows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8
If I now select “Manage Repository”, and select “Update view”, the package is not visible.  It is also not visible if I browse the repository directly. This package is not presented to me when I run Thinkvantage System Update.
This also happened when I ran Update Retriever (version 4.03.0006) on my R61 that is running Windows XP/SP3, and specified machine type = 8932, and operating system = Windows XP and language = English, in the search criteria.
    Please fix. Thanks.

Ever since I reported this problem, I have logged on almost every day and again tried to download this update using Update Retriever.  Today, I am happy to say, the download was successful on both my R61 as well as my R500 machines.  So thank-you Lenovo. The problem is resolved.
It is interesting to note, that after downloading the package, I then tried System Update and was surprised to note that the recently downloaded package was not presented to me as available for update.  So back to Update Retriever to modify the status of the package from TEST to ACTIVE. Then back to System Update. No change. The package was still not available for update. If anybody has any ideas on why this is happening, I would appreciate their input.  Maybe I will open a new post to help find a solution.

  • Did anyone successfully install the Realtek Audio update?

I've tried several times to install the Realtek Audio update version 6.0.1.7358. Each time I lose all sound on my laptop. I've tried all the obvious solutions, but the only one that works in the end is to uninstall Realtek and delete the software. What's restored is the generic 'High definition audio device' component.
I don't get any crackling with this, but the volume is not as loud as before. I would like ideally to get the best out of the Yoga. Has anyone had success with 6.0.1.7358?

    Dear Kmaustral
Please use the below link to download and install the updated version of the sound card with the Realtek audio firmware .

  • Updated my K450e to Windows 10, Realtek Audio Manager icon missing from system tray

When my K450e was using Windows 8 and 8.1, there was a red Realtek AudioHD Manager icon in my system tray. Now that I've updated the K450e to Windows 10, there is no Realtek Audio Manager icon in my system tray (or control panel) anymore. I've tried installing the Realtek Audio software both from the Lenovo download site for Windows 10, and also from the Realtek site. This has not helped. On the up side, the computer's audio is working fine *smile*. Any ideas what I might try to get the Realtek AudioHD manager icon back in the system tray for Windows 10? Thanks!

Macaby there are two separate components of Boot Camp. First is Assistant which runs on the Mac side of things from OS X. It creates/deletes the Windows partition which is necessary to install Windows. Next the Boot Camp Panel software which is installed once you have successfully installed and are running Windows. It allows tweaking of the Apple hardware from within Windows. It is installed using the OS X disc and does not jeopardize your installed Windows OS in any way. This disc also contains the hardware driver necessary to optimize the hardware in Windows. In my experience this disc has never started via autorun so you will most likely have to locate the Boot Camp folder and run the setup.exe file manually.
Don't know how much your wife uses Windows but if it's running well enough then you may want to leave it alone. Check device manager in Windows for any red or yellow punctuation marks. This will indicate a potential driver issue in Windows. Also check the Windows Experience Index for performance issues. A 1 anywhere indicates a driver issue. If you have no driver issues and Windows is running well enough you may want to leave it at that.

  • GT80-2QE / Realtek Audio / Nahimic

    Hi,
I downloaded the latest audio drivers for the GT80 from the product page. After installing, I no longer have the system tray Realtek Audio icon... and my SoundBlaster Cinema is no longer working. Also, the Nahimic technology is nowhere in sight.
It is fair enough if these drivers are for the latest GT80 variants... but to REMOVE the old ones from the GT80 web page is a bit of a mess really...
Has anybody else experienced the same? Does the Nahimic technology even work on the 4th-gen Intel GT80's?
    Thanks.

I wiped my system. Did a clean install, and updated everything including my BIOS again, just to be sure. Now I have the Nahimic software working but not the SB HC 2 software. I have the same issue as cmplieger where I'm told that "No supported audio device available." I think cmplieger is correct that the BIOS flash which allowed the Nahimic support broke the SB HC 2 support. I haven't tried flashing back to the old BIOS as I already have SoundBlaster E-series software running for use with my headphone. Unlike cmplieger my Nahimic software can modify the sound of my built in speakers. It certainly isn't as feature-rich as the SB HC 2 software, but it can improve the sound experience. Note I say experience and not quality. Anyhow, my guess is if you flashed the new BIOS for your GT80 and SB HC 2 still works, Nahimic won't and vice versa. I hope MSI address the issue and allows a choice or both to work. Also, I agree with the thinking that MSI should clarify their support downloads better. Haswell and Broadwell BIOS downloads on the same page is asking for trouble IMHO. MSI is clear in the instructions that the two chipsets BIOS do not work with the other.
What I'd really like is the benefit I was promised during registration: email updates for new software, BIOS, and drivers. I've yet to see such an email, and it be nice not to worry about actively managing things such as BIOS updates.  It be great if I received an email saying something along the lines of "In preparation of Windows 10 we have new downloads available for your MSI GS70 XXXX. These include BIOS and new Nahimic software. Read more about Nahmic at www.Nahimic.com to see all it has to offer. Meanwhile Support for SB HC 2 will be temporally suspendered as we work out how to best bring the experience to you with Windows 10 compatibility." Then the email should include instructions and direct links to what I need to be up to date. Simple, not to hard to implement, and I'm sure greatly appreciated by many...  I guess that is to much to expect? Thankfully we do have this forum to come to for support. Thanks guys!

  • M93p SFF "missing driver" for &DEV_8C24&SUBSYS_309717AA; needed Intel chipset utility 10.0.24

A new M93p SFF machine arrived Thursday, which I'm preparing for shipment to a friend in Virginia whose current 7-year old desktop machine has finally reached its own end-of-life.  Win7 Pro x64 pre-installed (via downgrade rights from Win8.1).
I've bought four M93p machines now (one tower and three SFF) and they've all been standard CPU... i5-4570.  This time I thought I'd spend the extra $30 and go for one step up, to the i5-4670.  Cheap enough.  Aside from the Win7 downgrade the rest of the machine is standard.
And then I do my own "after market hardware upgrade", purchasing my own parts: adding another 4GB of memory from Crucial, adding a 256GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD, and adding a low-profile 1GB DDR5 Sapphire R7 250 video card.  The existing two pre-installed Win7 boot partitions were easily migrated over to the SSD from the stock 500GB SATA spinner, and the original 500GB spinner was then fully repurposed to be a second "data" drive.  All went without a hitch... almost.
In the process of doing Windows Updates, driver updates, Lenovo/Norton bloatware removal, Lenovo software updates, etc., I noticed that there was a device showing a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager.  This was of course totally unexpected, and I was very curious as to its cause.  Was it due to the i5-4670 CPU?  Was it due to a BIOS update which now made use of a hardware feature that had previously been disabled?  Didn't know.
The device was "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller".  And its Hardware ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C24&SUBSYS_309717AA.  The mystery was why this didn't have a suitable Lenovo-provided driver specifically available on the download site for the M93p.  And if it was actually an Intel hardware item and should have been supported by the Intel Chipset Utility (latest version for Haswell from Lenovo being 10.0.13), why did it not have the proper driver?  And why didn't "update driver automatically" through Windows Update not find the proper driver on the MS Update Catalog site?
    All very interesting.
Well, turns out support for this device is related to Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver.  And it turns out that it IS actually supported by the latest Chipset Utility from Intel (v10.0.24), available directly from the Intel download center.  Unfortunately it is NOT present in the older 10.0.13 available from Lenovo on their own download site for the M93p drivers and software.
Once that most current 10.0.24 version of the Intel Chipset Utility was run, now sure enough the device is now correctly supported by its driver and no longer appears as "other" with a yellow exclamation mark.  Instead, it now appears properly labeled as "Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series Thermal - 8C24".
So, problem now resolved.  No more "other" unknown device with yellow exclamation mark.
But the question still remains as to what has only newly triggered this in my brand new just manufactured (10A9CT01WW, with its special order i5-4670 CPU instead of standard i5-4570) and delivered Lenovo-provided M93p?  How is it that Lenovo didn't observe this?  Is it something new from Intel now present in the Q87 chipset used on the motherboard?  Why didn't it appear in any of the other three M93p machines I've purchased over the past year?
If it was tied to the i5-4670 CPU, you'd still think Lenovo would have noticed this issue before now.
Anyway, for anybody else who comes along behind me and has this same hardware problem, the solution is easy: just grab at least the latest 10.0.24 Chipset Utility from Intel.  Until Lenovo updates things, this appears to be the fix.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Today's followup...
Lenovo tech showed up as scheduled, although I was baffled because yesterday I was told the replacement board was "back ordered" and still in China (or maybe on a boat in a container, waiting to be unloaded).  With the longshoreman's problem on the west coast and specifically affecting the Port of LA, it's not clear when items shipped this way will arrive.
Anyway, today I get a phone call that the tech is 30 minutes out!  Great, although I'm baffled as to how he has a motherboard today if yesterday it was supposed "back ordered". Also, he does have the replacement case front fan, in the event it wasn't the original motherboard sensor which that was responsible for the reporting the "system fan" as "not operating" even though it was plugged into the fan header on the motherboard and was spinning properly.
Well, turns out the system board he arrived with was NOT the same 00K277 board delivered from the factory in my M93p as it arrived last Thursday.  Instead, it was a presumably acceptable substitute 3T7183 board.  And in fact, once installed it DID work.
However... still "not operating" for the front case fan.  Disappointing.
Also, the "motherboard temp" of 212F degrees now was no longer even presented at all!  It simply was not reported by the sensor to the software.  This actually agrees with another M93p, which also fails to report "motherboard temp", while yet another M93p reports it as 72F degrees (instead of the 212F degrees from my original Thursday board).  So maybe this particular issue should just be entirely forgotten about, although it certainly doesn't seem at all correct.
Next step, try to replace the case fan.  With "not operating" from two boards (and thus two fan headers), it obviously would seem to be the fan itself that's probably responsible.
Well, unfortunately they sent the wrong fan part.  It's cable was 4-wire (i.e. PWM?) rather than 3-wire of the original.  also the 4-wire cable on the new fan was far too short to be able to reach over to the fan header connector on the motherboard.  It's quite simply the wrong fan part.
So, the tech re-ordered the correct replacement fan.  Presumably when available I'll get another call and another tech will come out to swap it.  Hopefully that will finally resolve the "not operating" system fan issue and I will finally see its RPM.
Bottom line: today's service call accomplished nothing productive.  The new board did no harm but it also did no good.  And the new fan was unusable, since it was the wrong fan part.
    I await the next visit.

  • Can I run adobe master collection in a windows partition on a basic mbp 13" with only the intel chipset?

can I run adobe master collection in a windows partition on a basic mbp 13" with only the intel chipset?
I want to install 16 gb ram but I don't think I can change the lack of video card. I wanted this basic machine because it has fairly long battery life. I don't need or want retina at this time. My model is the mid 2012 model. I am running the adobe collection for mac, I want to run the windows versions. Is it possible? What is the most ram I could access using something like fusion 5, assuming I could get fusion 5 to work? would it refuse to run because of the intel chipset and lack of video card?
If I'm wrong and there is a way to add a video card to this model, could some version of fusion and windows 7 access more than 2 gb operating ram?
What  cost would I be incurring, and would it be cheaper to buy a windows laptop with more ram than I could access via a virtual machine?
I want to work on a client's work in the windows versions of the creative suite, with occasional usage of after effects for windows, and to use some web plug-ins only available in windows versions, and to try some windows-only video and audio software.
thanks for any suggestions. While many people have told me I can run everything on my macbook, I am concerned about what I think is a limited amount of ram that can be accessed over the virtual machine partition softwares, and I don't know if what I want to attempt is actually possible.
My mbp os is 10.8.2 on a 2.5 GHz intel core i5 4 gb 1600MHz DDR3 with 500 hard drive. the basic 13" mid 2012 machine.
I'm hoping to install 16 G of opertating ram to allow more adobe programs to run concurrently- just when I am working on the mac side.
also, off track but, for years I have wanted a small  machine that is more easily portable than my 15" machines. I have only had this used machine for a few weeks, but already I have been very satisfied and used it for presentations at clients. I don't want an air because I really want the dvd burner and player. No matter what apple says about wireless, there are decades of legacy work stored on optical discs all over the world, and I don't want to be unable to open something at a client's office because I don't have a dvd drive. Additionally, I have very large files I want to transfer via ethernet or firewire so that the transfer will take less time and be more secure than wifi. I resist apple's trend to make every machine a disposable toy that is viable only a year or so. I have read reviews that label the mbp it a poor value compared to the air. If all you need to do is text and communicate via wifi, many devices will sufice, and an air is certainly the most elegant. But what about the cost of large ssd's and protecting the drive against damage from shock? I want to be able to move this thing around and the small size is much safer inside my padded bag when I sit in narrow airplane seats, crowded trains and other congested spaces. I am much more likely to be able to borrow a large screen in a client's office ( with the use of one of the three adapters I had to buy) than to be able to borrow a dvd drive that has drivers for mac os 10.8.2. I suspect this may be the last generation of machines that have optical drives and ethernet, and that was why I purchased it so that I could continue to do work into the next few years. I am impressed by the retina display, but I need long battery life. And as beautiful as the retina display is, it is even more of a problem when trying to cross platform with the windows world. I wish I could infuence apple to do a trial product flow for a machine designed to work with 80% of the business world that uses windows. How spectacular that would be. With all their expertise and adept hardware design, to create a machine that cross platforms better than a windows machine itself works? Now that would be an accomplishment.  Instead of 8 or 9 percent of the total computer sales, why not aim for a higher percentage? Smart devices will keep moving toward portable computers in power, anyway.

Fusion should work on your machine and if you put 16 GB of RAM in (see http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_160 0MHz_SDRAM), Fusion can access a good portion of that. Also, in a Virtual Machine, the guest OS is presented with Fusion's video card emulation, not what's in hardware on your Mac. Of course, finding Windows 7 now that Win 8 has been released could take some doing and the Win 8 Pro upgrade price is supposed to jump to $200 the end of the month. Add that to the price of Fusion and the extra RAM and you're beginning to get into the realm of low end real PC's.
As to cross platform, I assume you're aware of BootCamp (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461).

  • (Win 8.1) x230 Speaker volume strenght / Realtek Audio Driver may be unnecesary

    Hi
This is more a poll/discussion rather than a question. I wanted to share with you that I have a x230 and as soon as I installed Win8.1 x64 audio worked fine with "Intel High Def Audio" driver. I though sound was kinda weak (I know this is a tiny laptop but it was a lil' TOO weak). Went to Control Panel>Sound>Speakers>Settings>Properties>Enhancements and activated "Loudness equalization" and noticed there WAS like 50% increase for windows sounds, 0-5% for WMP and around 20% for youtube vids. Then decided to install Realtek HD Audio x64 but since it had to reboot and all that and I dont have any "decibelimeter" or whatever, I couldnt take note of scientific results but I THINK the Realtek MIGHT have increased volume another 20% OVERALL but also noticed the driver is 222MB!!! which was hard for me to believe, still dont understand why so heavy, plus, you get a background process from the Realtek thing. What do u guys think about this? How do you use you "ultraportables" in matters of sound/speaker strenght? Would you install the driver?
PD: Keep in mind "Loudness Equalization" enhancement disappears after installing RT driver.
    Thanks for any comments.

Several tweaks with audio settings on my x220 with win7 couldn't increase the audio volume and improve the "quality" , if we can say so about that one via the cheapest internal chip. I've deleted Conexant drivers and sw and installed Dolby Home Theater v.4 with x220 preset. The difference is very big.
    The main thread is here:

Also there are many threads aboard regarding DHT and win8 with different links to the sw here.
I know only DHT supports win8 and Realtek too.

  • Bootcamp 2.0 freezes on install with intel chipset problem solved.

After Days of pulling my hair out trying to figure out why my Windows XP SP2 32 bit would never complete its bootcamp install on Windows. I found the solution to my issue. It may help you. So I decided to post this because I looked everywhere and could not find any solutions that worked. It would freeze on the step where intel chipset would install. You get the blue screen and if you tried to start windows you would get a missing file report and would have to repair. system32\drivers\pci.sys Well nothing worked but one thing. I have a HD protool system that uses 3 PCI-e cards in my Mac Pro. You have to remove any extraneaous cards in your Mac Pro (PCI-e) first then you may install bootcamp 2.0 without any issues.
Hope this helps someone. Because I wish I would have had this info before struggling for 72 hours trying to figure out my issues.
Also, don't have any extra usb , firewall connections during install. And if you have 2 drives. Either disable one. Or put another Windows Xp disc on the 2nd drive. Then the Windows install will work fine. And for me. I had to format NTSF. FAT32 wouldn't work. Not the "QUICK" normal NTSF.
    Cheers.

Okay, I've half-solved the issue - I turned off the radeon card, and my idle temperature dropped by about 10 degrees. I'm idling at about 18 W now, so I get about an extra hour of battery life (~3 hours). That said, since I could get about 5 in Windows on this computer, I think there's still some room for improvement, especially since the fan is still a bit noisy. (I can't measure it exactly, but to my ear, it sounds like it's running too high given my low temperature of ~45 degrees).
I'm assuming the fan is the number one power draw at this point, so is there any other way that I can get it down without pwm?

  • Hard Drive Replacement - Windows 7 Updates - Intel Rapid Storage - Lightscribe error 4224

I recently needed to replace a damaged hard drive from overheating on a HP Pavilion dv4 notebook that comes with  Windows 7 Home Premium. The whole notebook had to be taken apart so that the dust, which had created a thick sweater, literally, blocking the CPU cooling fans, could be cleaned.
But that was done, it's over with, just dreading the cleanup in the future. Installing a new hard drive was unexpectedly  difficult... replacing the physical part had nothing to it but, Windows 7 Updates could not work and Windows 7 SP1 installation from the dvd drive or otherwise did not work. To make it work I installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology (AHCI) package. I used the System Recovery Discs to format and install to factory settings before all else, of course...
All was nice and dandy until I started using Lightscribe to label the recovery discs. Error 4224 - communication error with the drive... etc etc. Updated the drivers and software from HP, completed all Windows 7 updates, updated the Lightscribe System Software and Template Maker, updated BIOS and that was a good thing, kept installing and uninstalling preinstalled HP bundles and antivirus sofware for another few days of irritating work to no avail. Finally, the culprit was found in the Intel Rapid Storage Technology installation!
So, without Intel Rapid Storage Technology package there are no Windows 7 updates and the Windows Genuine error comes up, but with Intel Rapid Storage Technoly there's no Lightscribe functionality. I'm throwing my hands in the air after so much painstaking time spent with these issues. Is there any way around this bind? Is there a known fix to get the new hard drive to be recognized by Microsoft and have the Lightscribe functionality back?

Sometimes issues can arise when a driver is downloaded directly from the manufacturer, because in some cases, there are minor tweaks made to the one made specifically for your computer.
Sometimes the developers (combination of HP software developers and the 3rd party maker's software developers) have to tweak the maker's original driver to work with all of the other components inside your particular computer. All of the dv4-2000s may have, for instance, a specific technology of hard drives and optical drives, but each different dv4-2XXX may have different brands of hard drives/optical drives.
Graphics drivers are that way. I always recommend getting the ATI driver, not from ATI's website, but directly from the HP Driver Page, because getting the version on ATI's website will cause some issues with the HP Framework (which is responsible for making the whole web of specific components all work together) on the computer. After that several things have to be uninstalled and the correct versions have to be installed just to undo what that one driver version did.
It gets a little complicated. Suffice it to say, always try to download it from the HP Driver Page for your model first. Then if that version or previous versions don't work, try downloading directly from the 3rd party maker's page. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if I need to clarify anything
I'm going to recommend the following drivers:
Intel Chipset Driver version 9.1.1.1020 A
Intel Management Engine Interface Driver version 1.00 A
Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver version 8.9.2.1002 A
Intel Turbo Boost Technology Driver version 1.0.0.1030 A
Essential System Updates version 7.00 A
    LightScribe System Software version 1.18.18.1
Also, please check and see what BIOS version you're currently on. To do that, press the FN + ESC keys and look for 'F.##' and let me know what that is. I'll compare it to the latest version and link you to that one if necessary.

  • Realtek Audio v 6.0.1.7040 - 5.10.0.7040 - gga109ww

    Hi friends,
    I m T430 and Win8.1 x64 and after installed this update "Realtek Audio v 6.0.1.7040 - 5.10.0.7040 - gga109ww" I do not see the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 anymore.!
I tried to installed Dolby Advanced Audio v2 manually but it seems not to be working...
Or anything with this update of Realtek?
Thank you for your reply before hand,

In my case, my software update software does not work...it starts and just seats there while the blue bar spins without accessing anything...
have tried downloading directly from the apple download page, the proapps and to my surprise after entering my serial number, just the most recent proapps are available....not the rest...
even if I find, by the grace of god, a link in the download link of Apple's pages.to download, let's say, Proapps 2008 2, the link takes me to the same place, of FCP and the option simply does not exist...just the most recent Proapps and not the one I want to get...
any ideas as to where can I retrieve the other 4 proapps??????

    Hi Bejon,
    L1 / L2 Cache Update Mode:
Available options: WB (Writeback), WT (writethrough)
WB (Writeback): There are two concepts of cache-handling. The first is the write-back, you work against the cache, and when that data is finished, it's written back to the primary memory. You should put it as write-back to recieve the best performance.
WT (Writethrough): The second one is the write-through, that instead of waiting until the work with the data is finished writes to the primary memory for every change in the cache. (From
    http://www.wimsbios.com/index.htm?/HTML1/advanced.html )
Ok, how can you tell, if basic ENABLE is using WRITEBACK or WRITETHRU.....?
I know that WRUTETHRU is the ENABLE on this PT880, as it is half the speed of my basic 2.4 bench.....
This is why......so I can advise, when people say "I only score 500 when someone else scores 1000......etc "
