Easy way to add doc dimensions to slug area?

Does anyone know of an automated way to add the documents dimensions to the slug area? I've tried searching around but haven't found any results more recent than 2009. I'm using CS4.

Is there an easy way to add a sketch to Apple Email?

I struggled with a new-to-me sketch program that I found on an Internet website, but I was finally able to copy and paste it to an Email message. It was supposed to have been easier than that, but that was the best I could do.I then realized that I had to add a few lines and notes. That got me to thinking. By now, you'd think that there would be an easy way to add graphic material to Apple Email. Is there?

Are you trying to copy an image from the Maps application?
If you are, the easiest way I have found to do this is by going to Edit>Copy in Maps and then pasting the image in the Pages document.

William is correct. There are global system settings, and then there are personal user settings. Adding a shortcut to the desktop, or more commonly the Dock is a personal setting.
Unless its in some kind of mass deployment scenario where you can create a pre programed image for large amounts of computers which has it already has your app shortcut setup, its easier to just do it one user at a time.

But the Library is not a program. I use SuperDuper, and it is smart enough to treat Finder Packages (such as the Library) as a whole bunch of files and folders, and overwrites only those that have changed. Can't CCC be set up the same way?

Easy way to add more audiotracks??? + Environment midi/audio question???

Let's say, when I open a new project I have standard 24 audio tracks.
But when recording I see that I will need more, is there an easy and fast way to add more tracks?
As I see it now, I Have to run the Logic Setup Assistent, add more tracks (let's say 40). Reopen the project, go in the environment, create a new audio object for every track I want to add, double click it and assign the correct track to 'channel'. If I need to add 10 more tracks I have to go over these last steps 10 times. Am I missing some handy quick trick here?
Also, the second part of my question:
when I open the environment window, sometimes it only shows "midi" and the "GS instrument drum mapped" and some other times it shows "audio" and an "overview of my mixer". This seems to happen at random and I don't know why. The mixer view is what I want (especially when I need to add tracks as mentioned before), but when I get the midi view I don't know what to do to get the audio/mixer view. Any help?

There is a way so you wont have to do the 10 setups.
Run the Setup Assistant and when it asks how many
audio tracks you want, always tell it more than you
will possibly need. I use 101. I know I will probably
never use that many but they are already and waiting
in case I do need more. This way you dont have to do
anything except go to the track menu and select create
new or double click the arear below the last
track and what ever track is highlighted, a exact duplicate
will appear. Then you just click and hold on it to make it
whatever kind of track you need from the menu that appears.
This first answer takes care of the second question. Since you
dont need to go into the enviroment to hook up new tracks.
Just so you know if you click and hold on the name of the layer
Midi, instruments, clicks and ports or whatever another menu
will appear letting you choose what layer you want to go to.
This is the easy way!

Why isn't there an easy way to add a photo to photoStream from the finder?

Apple makes it easy to share your photo with Twitter, FB, Flickr, etc. Why not Photo Stream? As far as I know, the only way to add a photo to photo stream is to open iPhoto and then add the photo to that. This seems to be a very poor way of quickly adding a photo.

Easy way to aggregate multiple dimensions or measures?

We've experimented with some odd solutions, but I wonder if there is an easy way to aggregate multiple measures in a report variable. Here are the details:
Assume the universe has several numeric measures called MAX_ONE, MAX_TWO, and MAX_THREE. We take advantage of these measures for all the normal reasons. However, we also need the total aggregate MAX_TOTAL of all of those MAX values. Due to the complexity of the joins in the universe we cannot simply make another MAX_TOTAL in the universe, so instead, we are trying to create this as a report variable. However, the MAX function seems to want one dimension only. I really want a MAX of the MAX values, or more genericallly, an aggregate measure that uses other aggregate measures.
I've tried to call Max() with multiple measures as parameters, but cannot seem to get the syntax correct (if it's supported at all). Wonder if there's something I'm missing to declare a set, array, or something like that... or if there is a more creative way to solve this problem.
If suggesting solutions, please remember that adding it as a new measure in the universe is not an option for us. This particular MAX is quite complex for our universe and if we try to follow that path we end up with incompatible joins or joins that produce no rows due to the nature of the schema. So we're really focused on the solution path of creating a report variable that is an aggregate of other aggregates on the reporting side at this point.

Not really. My example only contained three max aggregates as an example. However, in reality it's more likely to have something like 20-40 of these in a report (or maybe as many as 100 in some special reports). The "IF" strategy causes a somewhat exhaustive explosion of statements... didn't think about the exact math but it's probably a factorial explosion something like (n-1)! or so. Aside from the messy look that would make it hard to maintain, there are also limits of nesting (due to stack space) and limits of the formula text itself.
P.S., I do have a solution that I'm currently using that is a way "out of the box" given our specific use case of this aggregate function. However, I'm not going to reveal it until I'm sure there isn't a better way to do this using another syntax that is directly supports this or is more efficient.

A quick and easy way to add genre to songs in a playlist

I have a 160mb classic ipod and I want to shuffle only a portion of my total library tracks. I am thinking the best way to do this is to use the Smart Playlist function and shuffle by genre. But if I do that I want to change the genre label or add one to many of my 4000 songs. Is there anyway to do this easily? I tried to select every song in a playlist and right click and use Apply Sort Field, but unfortunately genre is not one of these fields! Any idea?
Or (although this may be the wrong forum), is the any way, short of making one gigantic playlist, to get my iPod to shuffle among just certain playlists?

The only way to add to files to a playlist on the player itself is to put them in the queue, then save the queue as a playlist.

PSE10: Is there an easy way to add a vignette?

Besides using Filter > Correct Camera Distortion, is there an easy way to put a vignette on a picture? The method I just named doesn't give me the smooth, uniform fade that I need for creating collages, etc. Thanks!

Sure, just use any selection tool to make your selection. Here, I simply used an elliptical selection:
Then, use Select...Feather to feather the selection. I used 10px. Hit the Ctrl+J keys to copy that feathered selection to a new layer with a transparent background:

Easy way to add members in hyperion reports that flow through levels

All,
I am creating a new report that I want it to flow through the generations properly without setting up each member and the children of that member manually. I would like to see the following:
Level 3 member
level 2 member
level 1
level 2 member
level 1
and so on.
Right now I have to add the level 3, then on the next line level 2 and the next line children of level 2. I have tried ancestors, siblings and descendants and it is giving me what I am looking for. I am afraid of doing it manually I will have a lot of maintenance when new level 2 members are added.
If anyone has an idea on how it can be done easier i would really appreciate it.

Have you created parent child hierarchy or Value Hirerarchy.?. If we dont define it as value hierarchy any update on the Essbase side to this dimension will not reflect on OBIEE side . for these levels , refer to

Easy way to add a single keyword to an image?

I just organized a bunch of photos I took at a birthday party, and ran into some awkwardness when keywording. Hopefully it's just user ignorance, but if not, maybe someone can offer a workaround. I did the import with no keywords, because I wasn't thinking. Once I'd done that, I selected all images in the "Last Import", hit Ctrl-K, and typed Birthday (which is one of my standard keywords). Then I deselected all images and started doing selective keywording. That's where it started getting awkward. I had several shots that had my son in them, so I selected all of them and hit Ctrl-K. This put my cursor in the keyword box in the right-side panel, with Birthday highlighted. I hit <End>, then typed comma and MySonsName. No problem so far. I delselected the shots and selected the ones that had my daughter in them. The right-side keyword panel now showed something like "Birthday*, MySonsName*". I wasn't sure whether I could just add MyDaughtersName to the images without actually adding MySonsName to all selected images (even those without my son in them). That's the awkward part. What I found was that in order to add a single keyword to a bunch of images at once, I had to enable Keyword Stamping and use that. An alternative was to "Set Keyword Shortcut", enter the keyword, select the images I wanted, and then use "K" to add the shortcutted keyword to the images. Is there any way to simply say "add this keyword to all selected images" in one atomic action? Easy way to add episodes without having to manually code it?

Question for you here. Is there an app or system that allows you to easily add additional podcast episodes, all XML correct without having to keep having to add items and fill out the code in the feed?

There are a number of programs and online services, though in many cases they create the feed but don't allow you to access it directly. My only experience has been with Podcast Maker, which is easy to use, but I understand that it doesn't work well with Lion or Mountain Lion.
I can't recommend any specific service or program; I can only suggest you do some Googling, Note that in most cases you will have to start over with the older episodes as it probably won't import your existing feed.
You can of course simply copy and paste an episode and change the appropriate tags - be careful not to fall into the trap of duplicating the 'guid' tag and not changing it - each must be unique.

Easy way to add all of my ap3 files once I have converted them

I converted 1500 songs from AAC format to MP3 and instead of going in to each song to delete the AAC and add the MP3 to my itunes so it's all MP3 on my iPod, is there a way to do this all at once. Just swap them out?

OK fixed the problem after talking to Apple support. Here is the step by step :
1. Plug your IPad to your computer
2. Open ITunes on computer
3. Select your device in the left hand column of ITunes (computer)
4. Select the music tab
5. Un-check Sync Music
6. Press ''Apply'' at the bottom of the page
7. Verify on your IPad that your music files are no longer there
8. Check Sync Music (opposite of step 5 above)
9. This should start syncing your music from your computer to your IPad
10. Music should play
Time it takes depends on the number of music files on your computer. I had 300 and it took approximately 30 minutes. It was worth the time, as everything works fine now.
