Easy way to export without altering settings to original clip

So I have this 1280x720 MP4 clip that is 4 minutes or so long. I only need 2:30 of it, so have chopped up what I need. Now I want to keep the format and settings and everything exactly the same when I export. Is there a sort of "export as is" option so eerything remains eactly the same bar the length?
Thanks to anyone who can help.

exporting to mp4 isn't a problem, final cut will export to MP4. I just want to export out exactly what I have imported in. Surely there must be a way to do such a thing I havn't changed the format, frame size, or anything like that, just the duration of the clip.
The point of me posting on the final cut forum was to be able to do this in final cut, not use another program.

  • Easy way to export Ironport settings on Prod box and import

We have a production C30 box that handles all of our Inbound/Outbound mail.
We have also purchased a C10 that will eventually work in an Ironport cluster with the C30.
However, I currently have the need to migrate the C30 from our existing DMZ to a new DMZ. It has been decided that the best way to do this is to setup the C10 in the new DMZ and set it up with the same settings as the C30 (with the IPs being different). This would allow both boxes to receive inbound mail for the production domain while the new DNS MX record propogates throughout the Internet.
The question is, is there an easy way to export the C30 settings and import them into the C10 so that I do not need to go page by page to copy the settings?
    Thanks,
    -Matt

I tried to do the export/import.
    However I keep getting:
    Invalid data format.
The certificate and key do not match.
    Value was: ('*****', '*****')
    Parsing failed. Aborting.
So I opened a support case.

  • Export without alteration

    Hi gang!
The iPhoto Export function is a strange beast. I'm having difficulty exporting files out of iPhoto without iPhoto altering them.
For example, I have a pic that is 4.9 MB.  If I use iPhoto's Export function, and select JPEG Quality = Maximum and Size=Full Size, then the resulting file is 12.2 MB.  If I select JPEG Quality = High, then I get a 4.4 MB file.  Obviously iPhoto is generating a new file that is different from the source file.  Is there any way to get iPhoto to simply Export the original file without alteration?
    Cheers!

  • EASY WAY TO EXPORT PROJECT FOR ADOBE PREMIERE C4

Does anyone have another solution to export your video project from Adobe Premiere C4 other than going through Adobe Media Encoder and DVD.
We're looking for something as Simple as it was for Premiere Pro 2, export movie, AVI, then you had a quick and easy way to use the file in
many ways.  It seems encore and Media Encoder has too many issues and take too long.

  • Any way to export videos and preserve the original creation date?

I recently shot video using an NEX-5N and AVCHD as the format. Since Aperture cannot playback this format, I converted the videos using Handbrake to mp4 (H.264), and then used A Better Finder to change the creation date of the converted file back to the same date as the original file.
Importing this converted file into Aperture works great, and the imported file shows the correct metadata of the original creation date, not the date of the conversion.
But when exporting this file from Aperture, it seems like Aperture does not embed the date as metadata, and thus the only date associated with the exported video is the file-system date attached to the file, which will of course be the date of the export.
I assume this problem applies to ANY video imported into Aperture, not just those that have been converted.
Does anyone have a method for exporting video and having the original creation date remain?  This is obviously a problem when exporting videos one-by-one, but would be a bigger problem if I ever wanted to export my entire video library from Aperture into another program...all the video files would have the same date!
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

EXIF data and video files is even more of a gray area then EXIF data and stills.
I don't do much video in Aperture so I'll take your word for it that the data isn;t imbedded into the file. In that case the best I can see is to create a custom export preset and  include the Image Date in the filename. Not great but you at least have the data and you might be able to have a script use the date from the filename and somehow add it back into the file.

  • Easy way to export .wav or .mp3?

Hey all, just got LE 8 last week and loving it after using Sonar/Cakewalk for 10 years.
One thing that was bugging me though was today I tried to export a mix as a .wav file so I could burn a test disc and listen in the car. It seems from the export menu there doesn't seem any intuitive way to just mix down to a .wav for easy burning or stereo editing (in Sound Forge via Boot Camp). Am I missing something? I ended up having to export as a wav that then opened a separate file in LE, and had to drag the file into the sequencer to then export it again...I know I'm used to the Sonar way of doing things but there must be an easier export method? Thanks!

    Hi,
It's simple: click the Bounce button in the upper right corner of the Logic screen.
You get a save dialog; in your case, I'd choose a destination somewhere on your Windows partition.
Now, in the lower left side of the dialog window, choose PCM, and more to the right, choose File Format > Wave. Normally 16 bit, 44100 and interleaved are good options.
    Press Bounce, and that's it!
One last remark: to get exactly the right start and stop times for the bounce, make sure the locators are on the desired start and finish of your music, and cycle mode is on. This will tell the Bounce menu the right times automatically. See Logic > Help > Logic Express 8 User Manual, page 627 and 108.

  • Is there any easy way of exporting a high-res still from FC Studio into Photoshop?, is there any easy way of exporting a high-res still from FC Studio into Photoshop?

Is there any way to do this other than using Grab, which is too low-res? Thanks!

Any still you export from FCP will never be better quality than a video frame itself, which in the case of HD would be an image 1920 px X 1080 px @ 72 dpi.
To export a frame from FCP, park the playhead on the frame you want to export.
Go to the menu File > Export > Using QuickTime Conversion . . . and when the pane opens, at the bottom set the format to Still Image and the press the Options button to set the format you want the still image to be.
Once you have done that, navigate to where you want to store the image and press Save.

  • Any way to export Rack Effects settings?

    Oh hi!
I'm looking forward to reinstall everything in my Win7 workstation and this include Audition. I have, tho, some user presets created in the effects rack that i would like to save before I wipe everything.  Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks!

Audition's settings are saved in this location in Win 7.
    C:\Users\User_Name\Appdata\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\4.0\
So back this up somewhere safe and copy it back over when you have re-installed everything.

  • Easy way to add a cross disolve to multiple clips???

There has to be a trick to this? They could not make it this manual that you need to do every one. I have figured out how to copy and paste,,... but... this does not always work? And then you have to do each one if you have 100 clips it takes 100 pastes.
The same with fade in and out to black filter and same with audio fade in and out
One would think you could drag the filter to every clip in the seq and it would be smart enough to add the disolve to front and end...
This is driving me nuts HELP!!!!!!!!!

I've got a multiclip timeline edit done. I've got all my cut points and I want to add the same crossdissolve to all the edits. I can click Next Edit (' ") and Command-T to keep adding the default transiton but I'd rather highlight them all a just do a one click soultion. Any Ideas?

  • HT5139 Is this really the only way to back up service settings?

Am I completely missing something here, or is Time Machine supposed to be the only easy way to back up service settings in Mountain Lion with Server.app? Is there really no way to export/import service settings anymore? It sounds to me from what I've read and seen of Server.app that if, for example, my DHCP settings get mucked up, I have to take the entire server offline, boot to the recovery partition, and restore from Time Machine? I can't just stop that ONE service and re-import the settings while leaving everything else up and running for 100+ users? Someone please tell me I'm missing something obvious.

    Which service?
The "serveradmin" command line controls are always available. They can do much more than the GUI can.

  • Can I "export" my Homesite settings for a new installation?

I'm doing a complete re-installation of Windows and all my
utilities on a new drive. I've got Homesite 5.5 freshly installed,
but I'd like to migrate all of my settings from the previous
installation to the new one. I thought that simply copying the
entire directory from the old drive to the new would do it, but I
    was wrong.
Is there some file elsewhere in my old directory structure
that I can copy, or some way to export my old settings and import
    them into the new installation?

Hmm, I thought there was something written on that one, but I
    can't find it right now.
It depends upon what you have customized and where you have
put those customizations, but copying over things in the homesite
userdata folder, perhaps also any additions from extensions,
    parsers or help.
Some of the setup is in the registry. If you want that,
you'll have to export and re-import parts of that after you run the
    homesite installation.

  • Exporting a large number of iMovie clips. Automator?

    Hello,
I have 116 DV clips in iMovie HD from 29 large source DV files. Each of the clips is about 5 minutes long. Editing them has been a joy so far, but I've hit a snag exporting them.
The goal is to export them individually as MP4 files keeping the clip name as the new filename. I don't want one large file like what iMovie assumes you want to "share".
I have been fruitlessly scouring the web for a way to automate this process. Any way to do it? Or am I stuck babysitting it every 10 minutes for the next few days? Thanks.
    PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0 Mac OS X (10.4.9)
    PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0 Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Your goal is to export each of the 116 clips in the iMovie project, not their source files, right? (A source file may include two or more clips, and include material not included in the Timeline.)
There is no easy way to export a series of clips. iMovie is not AppleScriptable, so there's no good way to automate it using AppleScript/Automator. You can't tell iMovie to select clip 3, for example, and export it to a new movie.
The best you can do is create a script for QuickTime Player that exports a portion of the movie "Timeline Movie.mov" — which iMovie stores in the Cache folder of the iMovie project — to a new movie the format you want. QuickTime Player is entirely AppleScriptable, so it can do that.
Theoretically, most of what you want to do is possible, for there's is a subtle but reliable connection between the iMovie project and the Timeline Movie.mov. When the Timeline Movie.mov is opened in QuickTime Player, the movie selects the contents of the clip selected in iMovie when the project was last Saved. Each time we save the iMovie project, iMovie sets the selected frames of the Timeline Movie.mov to match the clip selected in iMovie. So if we select Clip 3 of the iMovie project, Save, and open the Timeline Movie.mov in QuickTime Player, the frames for Clip 3 are pre-selected in the movie.
So theoretically an AppleScript could open the Timeline Movie.mov, Copy the current selection to a new movie and export it to a movie with the format you want.
Here's the problem: There's no way to tell iMovie to select a particular clip in the Timeline and Save the project, the two steps required for the Timeline Movie.mov to select the proper frames. These steps must be done manually. You have to manually select the clip in iMovie, Save, then run a script that opens the Timeline Movie.mov in QuickTime Player, exports the selection, then closes the movie so the next time iMovie Saves it can properly update the Timeline movie.
There's also no way to apply the name of the selected clip to the exported movie without AppleScript sniffing around in the iMovie project file, which it doesn't know how to do.
So some of what you want can be done, sort of, but not the way you want. What is needed is a utility that understands how to read the iMovie project file, figures out where the clips are, and exports each clip.

  • How to import original clips edited in After Effects into Adobe Premiere, without the After Effects

What is the quickest and easiest way to bring clips that were edited within after effects into adobe premiere? I just want the original clip as it is cut, without any of the after effects manipulation. I am trying to gather the cuts of a green screen project together that was compiled and edited within Adobe After Effects, so they can be rekeyed. I want to detach all effects work, and just have a straight green screen cut of the original files. Each cut though, is its own compilation. Simply importing to a new sequence doesn't seem to be the answer because I first have to uncheck many effects to find the original clip buried beneath layers of mattes and various effects. I have probably 400 different cuts, and currently my workflow is super slow just searching for the original clip in after effects, looking for the time code, then matching the original clip and timecode into Premiere. Is there a faster an easier workflow?
    Thank you

I just want the original clip as it is cut, without any of the after effects manipulation.
Then you need the original clip.
my workflow is super slow just searching for the original clip in after effects
It's what you may need to do, though. Unless you know exactly where the clips are on the hard drive.

  • How do I change reel settings on duplicate clip w/o affecting the original?

I'm trying to copy/duplicate uncaptured clips and just change the reel setting. Whenever I do, the reel setting is changed for both the duplicate and the original clip. Is there any way to unlink the reel settings on the clips?
I synced timecode on three cameras and would like to copy the clips I've logged and just change the names and reel settings, so I can get all three cameras.

I think there may be more than one way to skin a cat and perhaps I wasn't clear enough in my directions.
+I'm trying to *copy/duplicate uncaptured clips and just change the reel setting*.+
+I synced timecode on three cameras and would like to copy the clips I've logged and *just change the names and reel settings*, so I can get all three cameras.+
When I read this I get the impression names and reel numbers need to be changed on new uncaptured clips.
When I do a duplicate as new master clip I can immediately change the name. If I make the new clip offline(leave media on drive) I can change the reel number. I can do this by right-clicking on the reel number. Any other tape numbers logged show up in that list.
If a tape reel # hasn't been logged I can do this by logging a dummy clip with the cam2 or 3 reel # and then those reel numbers will show up when I right-click on any clip's reel numbers.
    What else am I missing?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!
