Easy way to hide menu & tools items in Adobe Reader

Hi,
I'm trying to hide some items of the toolbar in reader.
Is it possible by passing parameters in an URL ?
I don't want to use the parameter toolbar=0 because I need zoom item.
I read it's possible by using javascript but I don't know how to do !

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). 
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]] 
 
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. 
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions. 
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

No. Acrobat Pro's preflight is the tool for checking this sort of thing but you should be aware that it isn't a simple RGB versus CMYK. A file can contain any mixture of either, as well as other colour spaces (greyscale, Lab, spot colour). So in preflight you are looking to be told not "is this file CMYK" but "does this file contain any non-CMYK elements". Preflight can also check other prepress needs like a minimum resolution.

I want to use Adobe Reader to view drawings when out on site, but they often open in portrait when they should be landscape. Is there any way I can rotate the view?

Adobe Reader does not have a built in way to rotate the view, but iOS allows you to set the slider next to the volume control on your iPad to lock rotation of the device. You could set that to control rotation, and when you open a document whose pages are rotated, you could lock the device rotation, then rotate the deivce to view the page.

DW CC: Easy way to hide an element on small screens like smartphones?

Is there an easy way in Dreamweaver CC to hide an element like an image or div on small screens like smartphones so that it is only shown in desktop browsers? I know the way to build classes with media query but may be in DW there is another way.

Sure - just target the element you want to hide once the device viewport hits a specified width in the media query; (example below hides an element with the id of 'header')

Anyone have an easy way to hide an image when clicked?

Hi,
I have an image where I need each text box/arrow to delete once clicked. Surely there is an easier way than creating millions of frames? Is it possible to do it with a button? The person using the animation needs to click the right ones that would lead to them dissappearing.
This was mocked up in photoshop. Only the photo would be brought into flashes library.

Thanks esdebon for your response. I have tried to get it to work and keep getting compiler errors. Nothing happens when i click on the movie clip. button was converted to a movie clip and I added the actionscript but to no avail. This is the error I am getting while testing:

Vista/Reader problems: Recent Items omissions + Adobe Reader Help menu freeze

This is Vista Home Premium 32bit; it came with Adobe Reader 8.1.2, which I fully updated, then replaced with Adobe Reader 9.0.0. Same problems either way. More info: Toshiba Satellite notebook, 3 GB RAM, 200 GB hard drive, AMD Turion X2 dual processor.
In about half the instances, a .pdf file that Reader has opened never shows up among files in the computer's Recent Items list (in the Start button). No idea why some do/some don't appear.
Also, both Reader versions freeze when one accesses the About option in the Help menu. Ctrl+Alt+Del is the only way out from that, apparently - not great. Only Reader freezes and requires using "End Task." All else keeps operating.

Yes I can create a short cut to internet exp. 32 bit on my desktop and I can even be using Internet expl. 32 bit, but when I try to open a PDF with adobe reader it won't work with internet exp. as my default browser b/c windows will always choose Internet exp. 64 bit which isn't supported yet by adobe reader. With google chrome as my default browser windows can't choose an unsupported 64 bit browser in its place b/c google chrome doesn't have a 64 bit version.
My post was for those people who may not have realized yet that windows would not ever choose Internet expl. 32 bit over Internet expl. 64 bit if both exist on their system. For them it is easiest to just choose a default browser that only has a 32 bit version.

However, having that shortcut on my desk top and opening my browser through it will not prevent the problem of windows choosing my Internet exp. 64 bit browser for pdf's I try to open from the web. Thank you for your response, but I think the problem that I have tried to explain does exist for many users and can only be fixed by using a 32 bit browser that is not Internet explorer as your default browser. At some point if windows fixes the update that always chooses Internet expl. 64 bit over Internet expl. 32 bit, then this will all be irrelevant.

Is there an easy way to use MOVE when importing from card reader?

In Lightroom 1, I would hit File -> Import From Disk which would allow me to move photos from my card reader to the hard drive.
In Lightroom 3, the only option is the normal import dialog and in order to get the "Move" option I have to select "other source" and then scroll down the list to select the card reader in order to get the "Move" option. It's a pain to do it every time. (not to mention my wife will never do it and just use "copy").
So my question is, "Is there a way to get the Move option to be available by default on my card reader?"
It's been my workflow since 2004 to have the images deleted directly after I copy them off the memory card using Adobe software (Photoshop Album 2.0, Photoshop Elements 4, Lightroom 1.0). I'm really hoping there is an easy way to accomplish this in Lightroom 3. Otherwise I will be pretty disappointed.

LR defaults to not importing suspected duplicates. so if there are still files on the card, they will be grayed out. That's how you can know.

I have a shell file that removes the files from the card and ejects the disk. I keep it in my dock for easy access.
Others will tell yiou, though, to format in camera. Which is a good idea! I just like to keep my cards empty and ready.

We have customers who are having difficulty saving their PDF files upon opening them from our web page because most of the time, they have "Use Adobe Reader (default)" set under Tools->Options->Applications. This causes the PDF file to be loaded into a standalone version of Adobe Reader where the Save icon is disabled.
We can suggest to our users that they change this to "Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox)", which will give them the desired behavior of loading the PDF in a Firefox window with the Acrobat plug-in's Save icon enabled.
However, we'd like to pro-actively change this configuration for our users via javascript if at all possible, so they don't have to go through the trouble of contacting us with the issue.
Is this possible?

I think that the built-in PDF Viewer only gets triggered with a specific MIME type (application/pdf) send by the server.

How can I change from using Adobe in fire fox to using only adobe app. I have checked in tools to use adobe reader but adobe in fire fox keeps coming up.

I know I was able to do this before. Under tools - options - applications - PDF files are listed to use Adobe reader but everytime I open a PDF it comes up using adobe in Firefox. I do not that. Want to be able to open the PDF right there.

My instruction should be:
Tools / Add-ons / Plug-in
and you should see Foxit Reader Plugin there. Click on the line and you'll see a "disable" option there.

It's 2008 and we don't have a open, free way to dynamically build a pdf form that adobe reader can populate with data? Why is Adobe charging for this sort of thing? Does this make sense to anybody?

Why don't have options under my tool tab in adobe reader x?

I'm trying to edit a pdf but I don't have those options under the tool tab. Am I skipping a step? It's obviously loaded on my computer and I registered our Adobe Acrobat software. What am I missing?

Well, I was in Adobe Reader and then found out that you can't edit in Reader so I went to Acrobat and still couldn't figure it out. I was able to pull up the existing PDF, but I couldn't go any further. I was able to click on the tools on the left of the screen but they wouldn't erase the existing text.

Wish to completely hide Windows 7 Taskbar when Adobe Reader XI is maximized

I've created a shortcut to Adobex Reader XI with maximized checked. However, when Adobe Reader XI is opened, while it IS maximized, there is still a thin slice of the Windows 7 task bar showing. I want to COMPLETELLY hide the taskbar.

Maximizing an application window doesn't hide the Windows taskbar unless the application has a special 'full display' mode. Some Creative Suite apps do (e.g. Lightroom) but Acrobat and Adobe Reader don't.

There's no rotate command to rotate the document. Instead, rotate the iPad. If it doesn't rotate, turn off the Rotation Lock switch on the side of your iPad.
