Easy way to select Stereo or 5-Channel - will it work?

I discovered a relatively easy way to let the viewer select Stereo or 5.1 Audio. You gurus maybe already know this, but I just thought I would ask if it will work.
Put video in Track 1. Then put a Dolby stereo AC3 in Audio 1 of that same track, and a Dolby 5.1 AC3 in Audio 2 of that same track (probably doesn't matter which goes into which track).
Created 2 buttons in the menu, both buttons play Track 1. Selected first button, clicked the Advanced tab in the Inspector, set Audio to Audio Stream 1. Selected the other button, set Audio to Audio Stream 2.
Didn't have to do any scripting, and it seems to work when I burned a disk.
Anybody know if there are hidden problems waiting for me around the corner?

Yes this works, essentially DVDSP is writing the commands behind the scenes. I have had this function completely screw up my more complicated DVDs that use many scripts including scripts that point to loop points.
for a basic dvd you should be fine.

Looking at the details for this mic, it appears that the app has to have the option to use the internal specak when a mic is plugged into the headphone jack. Specifically:
NOTE: When MityMic is plugged into your iPod/iPhone you won’t be able to use the onboard speaker for sound output. You must remove the MityMic then play back your recordings. (The Skype app has an option to enable the onboard speaker even when the mic is plugged in, so you could use MityMic for placing Skype calls. However most other apps do not have this function.)

Easy way to select files w/develop settings applied?

Adobe Bridge CS6/Camera Raw Win7 - OK I have a folder w/350 images, some of these (50 or so scattered about) I've applied a Camera Raw develop setting to and can see the results in Bridge and thay have a little symbol in the thumb. Other than manually selecting them (ctl/shft click click click) is there a way to say to Bridge "select all files with develop stting applied"? so I can move/open/export/whatever?
That would save a lot of wear and tear on the wrists...

Look in the filter panel under Camera Raw and select 'custom settings' . If you then choose the sort order in the path bar (top right in Bridge window) and select sort by date modified they will also get in the order first last you applied settings to.

Is there an easy way to select Items randomly from a data structure?

Put simply, I want to implement a "bag" data structure. So, when i select an item I don't know which one i'm going to get. I want to be able to select all the items once (so no replacing of items i.e. selecting the same item twice in one session).
I can think of ways to implement it using random number generators and the like but does anyone know of a simple datastructure that will encapsulate this "bag" functionality and make my life simple. Hash tables maybe? Any pointers appreciated.

I don't think there is anything like this in the collections framework but writing one as an extension of a vector could be simple. Something like:

This feature is missing on most Nokia models now a days.. Either you select ONE at a time or ALL at a time.. No option to select a few as you want..
Have a look at the PENCIL KEY application if it serves your purpose.. Google for it..

My son has an iPod but just a regular cell phone. We communicate a lot through texts/Messages but he doesn't always have a wifi connection on his iPod so sometimes, he is only reachable through his cell phone number and other times through his Apple ID. Is there an easy way to select which channel I want to contact him through on Messages?

On your Mac in Messages with his conversation in "focus" (the one selected) Click and hold his Name in the "to" Spot and the top right of the right hand pane where the conversation is.
This will become a Drop Down and show you the iMessages (and other accounts he might have) options.
In some cases they may not have been used before and may not have the indicator.
Example
NOTE.
Any phone number will be listed as a potential iMessages ID as well any emails.
In the above example I happen to know that both the emails are Apple IDs (What I don't know is if my wife as linked either to her iPhone Number)

What's the fastest way to select multiple side by side clips in an event?

I want to select the bottom half of clips in an event so I can detach the audio. The only way I know how to do this is to hold down the command button as I select individual clips. There's gotta be an easier way! Is there a button (or buttons) I can hold down so that I can just drag over the clips I want to select? Alternatively, if there's a way I can just select the first clip, and then have it select every clip in between as I select the last clip, that would work too. Remember, I'm only selecting half of the clips, not all, and not all minus just a few, as I know easy ways to select all and also almost all clips.
This is sooooo ridiculously basic that I can only conclude that either I am an idiot, or Apple puts their B-list developers in charge of this application, or both.
Lastly if it's not too much to ask, can I get a woop woop!?

Hi, What is most easy way to measure elements for background pictures-size, when working with expanding elements with no size.
For example a form that took a certain size because of al the elements in it, but has no real size. How do you find out the size for the background of that element without using rulers guides and calculator ?!

Dual channel doesn't work in green but does in green/purple?

Just bought 2 512mb OCZ PC3200 Plat. rev. 2 and tried to put both sticks into Channel A (green). My system didn't post, and the Dbar had 1 green in the upper right corner (saying memory damaged or installed improperly). So, I moved one of the modules to the first purple DIMM slot; now I have DIMM 0 and DIMM 1 filled. I noticed in the manual that I should fill the green slots first, then the purple.
Is this going to be a problem having one DIMM on green and the other on purple? My sandra test shows that I have about 5950mb/s memory bandwidth; would both greens be slightly higher than that? Am I going to be screwed for overclocking?

they are COLOR CODED for a reason..
Green is DDR CHANNEL A - Purple is DDR CHANNEL B
of course DUAL CHANNEL will only work when you have one MODULE in EACH CHANNEL, as is the nature of DUAL CHANNEL

Is there an easy way to see how many rows in a table? (selected or unselected)

Hi all,
Forgive me if this is a REALLY dumb question but I would love to know if there there is an easy way to to see how many rows there are in a table in InDesign?
(And I bet I am really going to kick myself when I hear the answer and how simple it probably is..lol !)
I am working on a huge catalog and am dealing with LOTS of tables...very long tables too at times. I am also doing a lot of copying and pasting back and forth between InDesign and Excel and it would REALLY help if I knew how many rows there are in a table without having to manually count them (TIRESOME!!).
Also, is there a way to see how many rows I have selected at any one time? It would be SO WONDERFUL if the info box could also provide this information.

You need not select whole rows, just one or a couple of cells.
Then run the script.
An alert message is telling you how many rows belong to the cell range you have selected and:
which rows of the table are selected…
A typical message would be:
6 row(s) selected.
3 to 8 out of 20 of current table.
The script does some basic checks of the selection.
If no cell or table is selected, it will just do nothing…

Is there an easy way to batch process channel swapping?

I'm creating a IR time-lapse, and I need an easy/effective way to swap the red/blue channels and do a few other things in Photoshop before I transfer the work to Lightroom to finish. I know that you can batch process for resizing and whatnot, but it would be really helpful if you could batch process basically all the actions you did in the history of one image in a set of 300+ and hit "go". Anyone know if this can be done, and how?

Make an action that uses the channel mixer adjustment to apply the channel swap, then use the batch command to apply it to your folder of images.
