EATing Transition or Plug-in !!

Hi
I was using adobe premiere 6.5 some years ago. After years Im using premiere pro cs4. I remember there was a transition like eating. Somethink like Video1 was eating part to part in screen ! I did not find this in premiere cs4. I think it was a 3rd plugin but I cant remember which plugin was that. Can anyone help me about this please?

Older versions of Hollywood FX could be used in earlier versions of PrPro, with a bit of file extension renaming. However, it seems that this "trick" did not work in CS4. Some seem to have had luck using newer Hollywood FX in CS4, with just a bit of work. There is a recent thread on doing this.
Now, you might want to look into Pixelan's SpiceMaster, or ProDAD's Heroglyph, or their Adorage plug-ins for something similar.

I have downloaded some of the demo effects, but since I don't buy things over the Net, I need to know the name of a supplier in Australia. Maybe I'll just have to order them through the local Apple agent and get them sent over from the US or wherever.

Upgrade and plug ins migration ? speed changes and transitions to motion 3

I have the FCS2 upgrade on its way soon i hope..
will my natress plug ins and others migrate when i go from FCS1 to 2?
I am mid project - have done all my captures but havent got into the nitty gritty of the edit yet - you reckon its a bit risky to upgrade?
I am super keen to get the ability to easily do ramps (in Motion 3 or in FC 6) and 3d logo fly arounds. Looking fwd to being able to throw transitions and speed changes into Motion 3 - i hear that it can deal with that now - is this true?

There are a number of companies out there that make plugins - just do a Google search for them.
In the meantime how does a hundred FREE effects, transitions and generators sound?

Though it says FCPro they all work with FCE. Each site has at least one free plugin amongst numerous commercial ones and some sites have ten or more.

THIRD PARTY PLUG INS AND TRANSITION PRESETS!

hello there,
i'm looking to purchase some sort of thrid party plug in that contains mainly if not only transitions and transition presets. i'm looking specifically for the final cut equivalent of the swish pan which is a popular avid transition. does anyone have any links to purchase something like this?

There was an editor in NYC back in the film days-- whenever dailies came in, he'd screen, pull out all the swish pans, camera start/stop flashes etc-- BEFORE the client showed up. Assistant pulled the corresponding negative in a back room.
Whenever a spot was needing something special, he'd dig into a box or two of "special effects" often selling a client a chunk of their own dailies.
That amused me no end. Still does.

Mac-compatible plug-in for feathered-wipe video transitions?

Does anyone know of a Mac-compatible alternative for SpiceMaster for creating feathered wipe video transitions? I've just been handed off a job (let's just say the company who started it is "no longer in the picture") and all they used feathered wipe via the SpiceMaster plug-in about 100-150 times (in a 15 minute video — sigh). Anyways, I can't change the visual direction of the project, I just have to clean up the mess. We're Mac-only and the SpiceMaster plug-in isn't available on the Mac.
While one option is to use a liner wipe Video Effect (which allows for the feather), because of the amount of transitions in this job, that's not only a major pain in the arse in itself, but having to move clips in alternating tracks and overlap the footage, etc. becomes a huge headache when they decide to change the edit (as, all of a sudden, the alternating of the clips to different tracks goes all out of wack).
Anyway, I'm hoping someone could suggest a Video Transition plug-in that would allow me to do feathered wipes. It'd mean the difference between a quick replacing of the SpiceMaster transition with whatever plug-in I could use vs. a nightmare of a project using the linear wipe Video Effect.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated!!!

Thanks for the reply. I've tried using the gradient wipe, but was unsuccessful in attaining the desired effect. Here's a quick screencap to show what I'm seeing:
The problem is, this results in a very narrow wipe. I mean, it's no longer a fine line between image1 and image2, there is some feather, but I really need to feather it out. The gradient I created is the same dimensions as the sequence I'm working in, and is a gradient from 100% black on the left side to pure white on the right, with a nice gradient in between. But, when I use this, it's almost like the source gradient is squished in (on the width) resulting in a very narrow feathered wipe.
Below is an example of the rendered video as it was when using SpiceMaster to create the feathered wipe. The first image is the image directly before the wipe starts, the second image the image directly after the end of the wipe, and the third image is a capture mid-wipe. As you can see, there is a very wide feather during the transition as opposed to what is seen in the screen capture above.
Am I doing something wrong when creating my custom gradient? It seems like, since my source file is a nice, wide gradient, it should result in a wide feather, but for some reason it seems to squish down into a narrow feather?
Any suggestions?

The component files of the third party plugins are in:
Local Drive\Library\Audio\Plug-Ins\Components
You can make a backup of a given component (say in a desktop folder) and replace the component with other version etc.
You can use [Pacifist|http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/12743] as well to install/extract a component from a given installation pack etc.

Text transitions, 3rd party plug-ins, etc.

This seems so simple, but I cannot find it anywhere. I am using motion to create moving pictures and text. I want the text to blur in and out slowly (all of the letters at the same time). I found the text sequence blur but the letters will only be in sequence like left to right or random, correct? I have looked for 3rd party plug-ins but can't find anything as simple as a transitional blur for text. Any suggestions?

You can modify any of the text sequence behaviors in any way imaginable. Try increasing the Spread value to spread out the animation. Or, just add a blur filter to the text and keyframe the blur amount to change over time.

Firefox/plug-in container eats all cpu and ram only flash plug-in installed no theme new profile new windows install still can't fix

I've been through hundreds of posts in the last year. back then all of a bloody sudden firefox starts eating my computer. 500+mb of use ram during normal browsing.
Decent cpu use at around 25% but if i turn on youtube it hits 80% for about 6 mins then it's 97% to 100% and it's always in constant motion between those 4 values.
playing any game which uses flash or java quickly become unplayable and I've seen it hit 1gb+ ram use.
turning off flash protected fixed youtube but it's unsafe so need a different fix. and I'm out of ideas for everything else. I.E same problem, chrome is even worse than FF, and opera won't even run. so what do i do now

1. it's wrong I have the current version 12. something.
2. just firefox not even counting the plug-in container.
3. the laptop is old almost 4 years, 1.93 GB of ram, only antivirus begins at start up, linux is something I'd rather not mess with a couple stupid people use my computer, and i have an intel celeron 900 2.20 GHz single core.

Video Transitions & Plug-ins: Recommendations

I'm new to Final Cut Pro, having used a hardware-driven dpsVelocity system for about six years. Overall, i'm enjoying using FCP.
However, one thing that surprises me about FCP is having a list of transitions, instead of seeing a graphic representation of the tranistion effect. I know it may seem like a less pro approach, but the graphic view of the tranistion did help me quickly pick out the one I needed. Is there a view setting I'm not using?
Also, I've been reading about plug-ins and thinking I need some. Again, with the depVelocity sytem, it came with lots of pre-configured transitions--for example, four page turn (one from each side), at least six page slides, etc. It looks like with FCP, I need to create each one of these options...so maybe that's where the plug-ins come in.
I would greatly appreciate some user recommendations for plug-in packages, both 2-D and 3-D transitons.

If you double-click a transition, it will pop up in your window and you can see a little more detail about it.
As far as plugins... i'm a big fan of the Nattress ones. Great pay bundle.
Some free plugin sets are Eureka and Too Much Too Soon.

Plug-ins transition purchase

Hi, I buy two setts, one of transitions and other for Text effects. When I downloads, I can used it, but, days after I can't do it. When I make a text effect, all the effect makes white in escene or in black, the letters are pixels.
I re-download this setts but make the same.
What happen?

The plug in container for Adobe Flash eats up 100% of my CPU on a regular basis and I have to go in to task manager and kill the process.

Screen updates become very slow and intermittent. I then start task manager to see what is using either ram or cpu, and invariably it is Plug-in container for Firefox using most of the cpu resources. When I kill the process, I get the message at the top of the browser that Adobe Flash plug-in has crashed.
I understand that Flash is useful/necessary for many applications, but is there a way to limit the resources it uses?

Hi, I just bought the Photoshop elements and premiere Elements 9 package. Problem is that I am a simple guy who makes a lot of video movies for my work and I just want a very simple "fade in" type transitions to merge my video clips. The ones supplied are to "busy" and are a distraction in my humble opinion. The standard disslove or cross fade that comes with PE9 I would thought would achieve what you want.
You can either have it before or after the break line or equally straddling it.
Simply insert a break line and just drag the effect to the break line.
There is another way that you don't need any 'effects' but gives you complete control of the transition.
When you want the audio to fade differently to the video I put a break in the video and drag the after part up to the second video track and drag it a little earlier by the length of the fade or disslove.
Then right clicking on the clip I select fade in and out on the top track and modify the yellow lines in the tracks to get the right timing.
Example. You want to remove a complete sentence in an interview. You insert a dots in the lower audio yellow line and quickly fade out the audio before the transition starts to remove the first word of the unwanted sentence but leave a bit of video. Then dissolve or wipe to the next sentence to signify that you have deleted something rather than have a jump cut.
If you look at some of my finished timelines it looks like a castle with every scene alternating on tracks 1 & 2.

N79 Menu Transitions affected when playing RAM-Eat...

I installed a heavy graphics game and I noticed that after I'm done playing, the menu transitions are bugged.
The menu transition becomes paralyzed except for the icons which is still moving. It will only get back to normal if you'll restart the phone.
Please fix this on the next firmware.

After you play your Asphalt 3 on N79 and going back to the main menu of the phone, the menu transition is paralyzed except for the highlighted icons which is still moving.
