EAX settings don't persist on reb

I have an Audigy DE card, winXP Pro sp2 and pretty much the latest SB drivers. I use if for a home entertainment system, including an FM radio tuner attached to the aux-in connection. It's working fine, apart from one very annoying problem.
Each time I reboot the machine (cold or warm boot), the radio (and possibly the other channels, but it's always the radio that comes on first) sounds like it's coming from the bottom of a drain. I select EAX on the mixer application (which loads on startup) and reset everything in EAX to "no effects", which fixes it. Until the next reboot, when it goes wrong again. The sound is echoing from the very moment the card starts to produce sound during the bootup, not just from when I log on.
It goes away when I select "no effects" from the "advanced eq" list, yet it sounds nothing like any of the settings in that list.
If anyone has some thoughts on this I'd greatly appreciate them. It's inconvenient having to power up my 42" plasma monitor in the mornings just to get the echo off the radio!

simply you need to create an MPEG2_ps from your iDVD or DVDSP3 authoring system as you have done. You just let those authoring applications transcode your DVCPROHD 720p and bypass compressor al together. This is what I do.
THe codec DVCPROHD 720p/24 as source for the MPEG2 VOB objects in the VIDEO_TS for the PLAYABLE DVD you want for SD 720x480 (??) at 29.97 might be a way to go. Or you could go dircetly to 23.97 from the 24p. I have not done this myself as I too live in 25FPS land.
In compressor look into whathte INSPECTOR says your "best quality 90mins 16:9) is actually encoding.

Sequence Settings Don't Match

Good evening.
I'm using FCP6 to edit video shot on a DVX100B in 24p Squeeze Mode. When I setup a new project I choose the following:
Format: (all formats) Rate: (all rates)
Use: DV NTSC 23.98 Advanced Pulldown Removal Anamorphic (a custom setting)
When I drop my first clip into the time line I inevitably get the following message:
"Attention- This clip does not match this sequence's settings or any of your sequence presets.
For best performance your sequence and External Video should be set to the format of the clips you are editing.
Change sequence settings to match the clip settings?"
Is there something I'm doing incorrectly, or should I just expect this and always allow FCP to change my sequence settings?

Hi,
that is normal message when your source material and your sequence settings don't match.
If you check from your media browser the item properties for your source material and then compare that with the sequence parameters, you will see something either in audio or video that doesn't match.
May be you've got anamorphic material and your sequence was not set with the anamorphic flag on.
Answering yes to that form will make sure you won't have to render all time you add a clip to your timeline.

Transportation of settings done in SICF transaction

Hi All,
I have activated the standard service "WEBGUI" in SICF transaction. It has generated URL.
Now I want to transaport the settings done in SICF transaction to activate WEBGUI on quality server.
But during activation on development server, system has not asked the request no.
So can anyone tell me how to transport the settings done in SICF transaction or do we have to do SICF service activation settings on each server i.e. on quality, development etc?
Kindly do reply as it is very urgent.

You can transport a webservice using SE80. But for activation, you have to go to the system ans activate that.
Because SAP also provides the services in the "inactive" state and also you have to individually maintain the settings for the webservices.

My screen display settings don't work right

My screen display settings don't work.When i try to set to not sleep it still sleeps.When i set to sleep and show pictures it works for a few mins then sleeps and won't scroll my pics at all just a black screen.Why? Does anyone else have this problem?

Screensaver (e.g., showing pictures instead of the desktop) and Display Sleep and Computer Sleep are all set independently. You need to be sure that you have set each and every one of these correctly or you will get unexpected results.
There is also the ability to require a password after an interval, and that is also independent of all the others, and is in
system preferences > security.

I have online editors for our blog and websites for generating articles and blog posts. Different editors from different sites and programmers. Firefox doesn't allow me to use the cut/paste/copy functions with these editors. I get this message or something similar every time. My privacy settings don't seem to stick anymore

My privacy settings don't stick anymore.
I try to set custom settings, but as soon as I have pressed ok and go back to the tools/options/privacy settings it's back to never remember history.
I have tried it with one Firefox Window (no extra tabs) and all kinds of other configurations.

Since in forum ,It is requested not to use that script .
Can you please confirm what is Correct ?
If it is fine , SAP consultant should use that feature as it is one of good feature at implementation stage .

I have a problem whem i persist a entity.
Often the instance of entity don't persist when i call method persist().
I don't know what happen. The method don't cause any error, but don't have any registry in the database after passing the persist() method.

i don't use the method flush. But in other entity, i do the same process and the data is commit in database. i've compared these two entity, and they are equals. the only diference is the quantity of attributes in both.
I try to use the method flush in both entity. In the first is OK, the data is commited. In the second cause one error.
When i don't use the method flush, the same happend, the first commit, the second don't commit, but don't cause error.

Mail account settings don't stick

My verizon POP account settings don't stay put (peak time for download, mail size, warn on delete, delete mail on server). I set them the way I want, but when I go back a day later they have reset to where they were before.
Worst offender is probably the delete from server. I've lost several key messages without warning.
Is ther a way to make them stay put?

Thanks for posting. It sounds like the settings you are entering are not the correct ones that should be set for your mobile settings. When did this start happening with your email settings? As far as deleing messages from the server – that can be managed from outlook. Do you use outlook? If so, what version? Please repost so I can help you get this issue resolved. Thank you.

Click Pad Settings don't stick

I'm using an HP Envy 15 Notebook with Windows 10. Currently using HP Control Zone v 19.0.1.12.95. Since the upgrade to 10, my clickpad settings (Settings > Devices > Mouse & touchpad > Additional Mouse Options > ClickPad Settings) don't stick after a reboot. The default 2-finger scrolling seems to be Aussie scrolling, and Pinch Zoom and Rotating default to selected. If I deselect them and reboot, the settings return to their default. Is this a Synaptics issue that they need to fix (and that I need to fix each time I reboot until they do), or is there an older driver set I could use? Feel free to move this to the correct board if I chose incorrectly. Thanks!

You can safely delete your account FROM YOUR IPAD with no issues what so ever. I've done it a few times.
Go into the settings, mail, contacts and calendars, delete the account and then re add it. (What yahoo means about losing your data is if you close down your account with them, not just off your devices)
If you do remove it from your iPad, it will delete hte data. But just off your device. (at least taht's been my experience). Once you readd hte account it'll redownload the mails.
Or you can also just wait. Yahoo has been 'improving' their servers and have been causing randomly persistent outages for months now. Usually when they are working on the server your mail is on, you have issues.
You can wait them out or find work arounds. For example, even if hte mail app messes up, you can still use safari to access your mail.

Using Session Variables for User Login - sometimes they don't persist... what am I doing wrong?

I'm running a site that requires user login. I approached the building of this site as almost a complete newb to CF (and dynamic coding in general), and it's been a great learing experience (with lots of help from you guys).
However, I guess I never learned the correct way to handle a user login. It seemed to me that I could just test the user-entered credentials against those stored in a database, then set a session variable containg that user's record number. Then, not only would I have an easy way of knowing who this user was and therefore what info to serve him, but I could test for the existence of a valid login on every page in the protected folder, by adding this code to my application.cfc in that folder:

...and it goes on to run a query and verify that the session.username and session.password match for the store defined by session.storeID. If not, all session variables are cleared and it bounces you back to the login page. When the user clicks Logout, all I do is delete all the session variables.
This seemed to work great for like a year, but lately I've been getting reports that the login doesn't seem to persist for longer than approx. 20 minutes of inactivity. You can see I specified session variables to remain active for 8 hours (I know that seems like a drastically long login, but it's what's necessary for this application). I've only gotten this report from a few people, and I myself can't seem to duplicate it... I've tested an inactive login for 45 minutes now and it held.
SO: any reason you can think of why session variables would be spontaneously clearing for some people? Would having your router reset its IP address invalidate the session or something? Also, the problem seemed to begin appearing after my host upgraded all their servers to CF9... could there be any relation?
And on a more general note... did I go about this completely the wrong way to begin with? If so, what's the standard way to manage a login?

Sounds like passing the tokens in every request is probably the way to go for this. I don't think it's likely that any users will be sharing links, unless they actually intend for the recipient to see their info anyway.
Is that all I would have to do, is add the tokens to every path? Would that guarantee that all the session variables would remain valid until timeout or being cleared?

One might be able to accomplish this with a Flex|Air|Flash applications that can be configured to use a continuous connection to the server. Thus not suffer the stateless nature of the normal HTTP request-response cycle.
I do not know if a router resetting would cause cookies to be discarded or otherwise invalidated. But I would not think it is beyond the relm of possibilities.

Problem with JPGs Downlaoded with Nikon Transfer - Can't Apply Develop Settings in Bridge CS4 and ACR 5.3 Settings Don't Stick

I have found what I believe is a "problem" with JPGs downloaded using Nikon Transfer (ver 1.4.1) and processing same in Adobe Bridge CS4 (Develop Settings) and/or Adobe Camera Raw 5.3 (Photoshop CS4 and Elements 6 as hosts).
Anyone using these programs in their workflow?
The problem, quite simply, is that neither ACR settings (nor Bridge CS4 Develop Settings) "stick" when applied to JPGs that have been downloaded via Nikon Transfer ver 1.4.1.
The same images from the same cameras (D300 and D90), downloaded moments later using Nikon's predecessor software PictureProject work just fine in both Bridge and ACR. Develop Settings appled in Bridge immediately are seen, and JPGs opened in ACR, and settings applied, then "Done" immediately stick and are reflected in Bridge.
If someone else is processing their JPGs in this manner, please let me know, as I have reported the problem to both Nikon and Adobe, and although I have tested it on two different cameras and two differnt laptops, I would like to get an impartial result as well.
One other test, the problem does not seem to affect Nikon's RAW (NEF) format files downloaded from a D2x using Nikon Transfer. More/different test are forthcoming.

Can't say one way or another on that statement about using manufacturers' software. Since Adobe has to interpret each camera models' RAW format having the latest ACR seems to be the best option. But if the manufacturers' software is more convenient, and you get the same results then use it. But it does appear you are not getting what you want, so suggest you try a duplicate test run with images straight from the card reader to Bridge and see if you still have same problems.
I do know it is widely recommended that using a quality card reader gives you more reliable data than getting the pictures straight from the camera. Does not seem intuitive, but that has been experience of many.
