EAX turns off center speaker on CMSS2 m

any eax setting be it environment or advanced eq turns off center speaker and I really want advance eq and my center speaker on.

When you turn on your cmss2 not cmss AND you have eax ON (select an advanced eq to make sure your eax is on)do you get sound from your center speaker?
..........best way to make sure that sound is coming form center speaker is unplugging front left and front right speaker
cmss2 + eax = center speaker off..................is it supposed to be off?

Check out the article below to troubleshoot the sound output to your Bluetooth speaker. Check in System Preferences > Sound to see what the output is set to.

How do I turn off the speaking of my text while I am writing it?

I just upgraded from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6. I restored all my settings. I have version 8.1.1 installed. When I am typing a text out, the phone is speaking it back to me. I do not want that turned on so I can text in silence. I am not referring to speaking and then having the phone relay what I am speaking into a text. How do I stop the phone from speaking what I am texting to someone?

It sounds like you may have VoiceOver turned on. You can disable VoiceOver one of two ways. Please use the information outlined in the attached iOS 8 User Guide below for information on disabling through the iPhone menus (page 143).

You can also disable your accessibility features in iTunes with your iPhone connected.

Turn off VoiceOver
Connect your iPod to your computer and select your device.
Click the Summary button.
Deselect Enable VoiceOver.

My son's G4 IMac has suddenly started talking to him every time he presses a key etc. We cannot turn it off - Anyone know how?

However, on looking through some items in Tiger 10.4.11, there
may be a setting in another location; I've never had keys speak.
But do know such settings exist, to aid those with disabilities.
{The keyboard shortcut command+F5 is what toggles it on/off.}
In OS 9.2.2 & before, it was easier to mess around on purpose
and make almost anything speak; and have the OS read it aloud.
If certain keyboard combos were accidentally pressed, it's possible
to have turned on Universal Access> Voice over commands. If you
were unable to make the talking go away from that System Prefs
panel, post back and specify what was tried.
Here's an example of one or more instances of accidental VoiceOver
by keyboard combo happenstance, and one of them involved another
key change. Not knowing what else may be going on, you can check
into the topic by simple online search...

Perhaps another can refresh the collective consciousness in the
matter of where else to look to disengage and engage the audio
interface which makes keys speak as you keyboard in OS X.

Turn off center selected object in view

If I am zoomed in 500% and select an object, it centers it in my view, and sometimes it will select the object and move it, just by clicking on it. Is there an option to turn this off?! It's VERY frustrating when i'm trying to move things to s specific place. Here is a video.

I know this behavior but as this only occurs on high zoom levels it's not a problem form me.
The only way to avoid this I know about is to select objects in the hierarchy tree not in Design view.

Not sure what you're talking about. The MacPro doesn't have any built in camera as far as I know. If you've got a monitor with a built in camera, there's probably a way to disconnect it.

How do I turn off startup sound?

Every computer I ever had, the first thing I do is to turn off the startup sound because it is very annoying in a public place and sometimes in a quiet place. I have not been able to find out how to trun it off on my Air. I asked the guys at the stores and they just say you can't. That is really dumb. I turned off my speaker but that is not a practical way because I may not remember to turn it off when I shut down.
The question is how do I turn it off permenantly.

Why don't external drives turn off

I've tried looking for this topic but can't find it anywhere here.
I have both self powered firewire 800 and external mains powered USB drives connected to my thunderbolt display running off an MBP. When I shut down the MBP, the self (port powered) drives shut off, but the mains powered drives spin indefintely. They don't do this if connected directly to the MBP. Whats up? any workaround? I'm worried that they'll have a shorter life from just running constantly.

When you plug in your head phones, the sound will automatically be used on your head phones, so it turns off the speaker's on your laptop, and switches to your head phones.
To fix it go to
Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound
From that just select the speakers on your laptop as default.

I don't think the mute switch will mute the shutter sound on phones sold in countries where it is illegal to disable the camera sound. The mute switch is input to the operating system; it does not physically turn off the speaker. Which is why you will still get alarms when the phone is muted.

First make sure your headphones are plugged all the way in, meaning no silver from the headphones plug can still be seen.

My external speaker will not turn off

I can't figure out how to turn off my external speaker. Even when my headphones are plugged in, it still plays. I did not know this was happening until an airline attendent asked me to please turn down my music on a flight. Boy was I embarassed! I reset it to the original settings and it still has not cured the problem.

Make sure that your headphones are plugged all the way in meaning you cannot see any of the silver from the headphone's plug still showing. Once you have verified that, try a hard reset of the iPod. How do I tell Apple to fix their software like apps that play sound even though the sound is turned off and not being able to disable features you hate like game center

Apple is suppose to be the pinnacle of usability and, yet, I want to throw my new IPhone 4s as far as I can and watch is smash into a million pieces on concrete. Seriously, I've already got three things that irritate the **** out of me. First, there are Apple apps that insist on playing sound even though the sound is turned off. If I flick a switch to turn the sound off, I want the sound off!!!! Second, if I do not want a totally unnecessary feature like Game Center, I should be able to disable it. I completed most of the Angry Bird levels with 2 or 3 stars and now I have to start over from square one. Maybe, this happened when I upgraded to the 4s but it sure seemed to happen when I joined Game Center. Tomorrow, I am going to reset my 4s to factory defaults to try to get rid of my Game Center account. I don't want Game Center! I do need Game Center! I hate Game Center! Finally, I had an alarm go off to wake me up and there was a Snooze button but no button to turn the alarm off. I flicked the slider to access the main screen expecting to see something to turn the alarm off but there was nothing. The alarm just kept alarming. I had to warm boot my IPhone to shut the alarm off! Really, Apple!!!!

The alarm went off. There was a green thing that looked like a button but pressing it did nothing. There was a red button that said snooze. I did not want to snooze. I wanted to turn the alarm off. I slid the bar to unlock the phone and there were no running apps with a button to press. The alarm just keep running. I have not had this problem since it first occurred. The alarm now shuts off when I just unlock the phone. It may have happened because I had another alarm app running. The two may have interfered with each other. I would like to tell Apple about it.
It also annoys me that the button that closes apps leaves the phone app running. If I press on a number at 6:00 AM to get information about who called me, the phone automatically dials the person back and my natural reaction is to press on the button to close the phone app but the phone keeps dialing this person at 6:00 AM. It is a bad design. I would like to tell Apple about it.
Finally, I looked all over Apple's site to try to find someplace I could send them a polite message to let them know that I was not happy with these "features" but could not find anything. It is extremely frustrating to have issues with a product and not being able to tell the manufacturer about it. So, you grow up!.

Is the sensor bad? That is what the AT&t rep suggested.

Restore as new... if the problem still continues then there is a hardware issue.
If it stops after a restore as new, then the issue is with the backup the device is currently setup with.
