  • EBook Reader for OS X

    Hi,
I am having a VERY hard time finding an ebook reader for OS X that inspires me to actually read on the computer.
Adobe's digital editions is a joke... At least I thought it was/is... Cant even change the background color so I am starring at a 30 Inch Cinema Display and get blinded.
    So my question is this...
Is there an APP like iBooks (iPad / iPhone) for OS X ... That I can use ???
    Help greatly appreciated...
As a footnote to publishers : If you want folks to buy your ebooks .... Perhaps you should make sure hat they have a GRAND time reading and dont need to visit the eye doctor after starring at GREAT WHITE for hours......

You could try Calibre or Stanza. You can find both via <http://MacUpdate.com>
Amazon's Kindle and Barnes & Noble's Nook have Mac versions of their ebook readers.
Personally, I do not really like reading fiction on my computer. I prefer a my iPod Touch.
Of course for technical documents or ebooks with examples and diagrams that cannot be resized, then using the computer is better (or maybe an iPad with its larger screen).

  • Ebook reader for the N80

    Hi all
Does anyone know if there if there is an ebook reader for the N80 that can read .lit files?
    Thanks
    Marv

I don't think so, as the .lit format is a Microsoft Reader format. However, I think there are .lit converters out there on the Internet.
For a reader for the N80 you could use Mobipocket, for example.

  • Ebook Reader for BB Torch 9810

Please recommend best ebook Reader for BB Torch 9810?

    Hi,
Trackpad has nothing to do with any of the applications installed or microsd card. My first recommendation is, if it still in warranty get it replaced, as it is related to BB manufaturing problem itself. Otherwise try to update it through Desktop Software, if there is any new update available.

  • Imac ebook reader for ibooks

Is there an ebook reader for mac that will read ibooks?

Only if you are running OS 10.9, which includes an iBooks app.
Otherwise the Requirements section on every purchase page in the iBookstore tells you that an iOS device is required.
That said, books in .epub format without DRM can be read on a Mac with apps like Calibre.  Free books and those from certain publishers like O'Reilly often fall into that category.

  • Ebook reader for iMac os?

We need a iBooks Ebook reader for my iMac does anyone know of any?

If you need a reader for .epub format books without DRM, you can try Calibre, Adobe Digital Editions, or Bookle.
Books purchased from the iBookstore which have DRM (most of them) can only be read on an iOS device.

  • Ebook reader for curve 3g in the UK?

Hello, I have just got a Blackberry Curve 3G on O2 UK and was wondering if there is an ebook reader app available for it? I might consider sending it back for an iphone or HTC if there isnt :-( Thank you.

As I understand it the number of bars relates to the network that you're attached to (3G, Edge, etc..). It would appear from various comments that wrt the signal strength meter there seems to have been a "recalibration" in 2.1.
The signal strength is really driven by the transmitter (output strength, current loading, distance, terrain, etc..) so what this means for the speed, reception dropped calls etc.. only time will tell.

  • An Smooth ebook reader for symbian^3

    Hi there,
is there any good ebook reader to be smooth on reading eBooks???? Well, neither Adobe Reader nor Alternate Reader could be like that.
I mean, when I'm reading big ebooks(e.g 1000 pages) it can navigate on a page smoothly. Not to freeze(for a small time).
    Thanks in advance.

  • Adobe Reader for Blackberry Does Not Support Fillable Forms

I've discovered that the version released for Android does support fillable forms, but the version for Blackberry does not.  I assume Blackberry did not develop the app so what gives?

    Mehwish,
Thank you so much for responding, and so quickly. I appreciate it.
It does not appear as though the PDF I am trying to read would have an element in it that would block it from reflow, but that is always possible. It’s a textbook, and I understand that toward the end of the book there are some charts and diagrams, but I haven’t gotten to those chapters yet. So far, I’ve just been trying to use the Adobe Reader to read the introduction and first chapter and nothing I have done has made it reflow.
I’m enclosing a copy of the entire book. Perhaps you can uncover something in it that I didn’t see.
    Thanks again for you help.

  • What is the best ebook reader for Macs?

    Hi,
What is the best ebook library / reader for Macs?
I have a Kindle for the actual reading, but wanted some sort of nice display library to sort and browse my books.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!
    david

i have searched there, but rather than try 20 out, i'd rather see what people like here.
the people on discussion boards generally have good taste.
and by best, i mean the best -- your favorite. obviously that encompasses a range of qualities to embody "the best."

  • Why has Adobe not created a .pdf reader for Blackberry?

It would seem to be advantageous for Adobe to write an Adobe Reader specifically for blackberry, in that it is one of the most-used mobiles out there.
Why other OSes and not for Blackberry?

Well, Les, I appreciate the suggestion, but it is brand new and has the latest operating system.
The problem is most noticeable to folks like me who often use JPEG-based .pdf files. As you know, before you zoom in, you have the prettiest little miniature image on your screen you ever saw, but it is not readable. When you zoom in to where the type (or music) becomes readable, there are artifacts that make it almost illegible -- certainly not easy to read in any case.
Plus, there are .pdf files I've received in my short time of use that would not open, and I've heard many others complain of the same thing.
Lastly, because I would like to open my .pdf files from a third-party app, I would prefer a reader that works in tune with all apps, not just email.
Thanks for the input, though. :)
    John
