EBooks on another computer to my new Mac

Hi everyone
I am very new to digital editions and not very savvy!  I bought some ebooks on my work computer at the end of last year (in the UK).  I no longer work at that company and when I left, I copied my ebooks across to my new Mac (which is now in Australia).  I have downloaded Digitial Editions onto my Mac, and when I try and add my ebooks it says "document is licensed for a different account" and I can't read them.  What do I have to do to access these books?  I am desperately hoping that I haven't "lost them" otherwise it is a complete waste of money!
Any help?
thanks

*I forgot to say that I don't think I authorised the downloads to my last computer.  I have to be honest - I downloaded the books from a Waterstones Bookstore and it just downloaded it for me.  I don't remember doing anything special!

  • Old computer itunes to new mac itunes

I have a new Mac and had a Pc previously.  I'm wondering why my songs from my itunes account are not apearing in my itunes on my mac.  Many were bought in itunes.  I understand that songs copied from cd's would be unavailable.  But why am I not seeing my itunes bought songs?  When I try to sync my device to my new mac it tells me that I will lose any songs that were dowloaded on another itunes library. I don't want to risk it and lose all my songs??

Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

  • Moving data from old computer to my new mac  air

How do I, physically, move data from my old macbook pro to the new mac air I just ordered?

    Here's one way...
Get another External Hard Drive... Format it to Mac OS Extended (journaled)... Drag and Drop the items you want from the Old Computer to the New External...
Then when you get your New Mac... connect the External Drive to it and Drag and Drop the items to the New Mac...

  • I just got a new Mac but I don't know how to transfer all the music, apps, videos, etc from my iPod and old computer to my new Mac.

I just got a new macbook air and I am trying to figure out how to get all of the music, videos, pictures, apps, etc. that I have on my ipod touch and on my old computer onto my mac. I don't want to lose anything. I just want to figure out how to sync my ipod to my new mac without losing any data.

copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder) from <MacintoshHD>/users/yourname/music on the source to <MacintoshHD>/users/yourname/music on the target (overwriting the iTunes folder in place there).
you can use an external HD or your network for this operation. everything will be as you were used to from the old machine.

  • Transfering i Tunes from another computer to my new Macbook Pro

    Hi
I have recently bought a new Mac Book Pro 15'. Prior to that I was using iTunes on my other notebook where I have all the songs and apps. Now When I am opening my iTunes from MBP it is blank and I need to transfer all my data from the other notebook to this machine. I tried syncing my IPhone with Itunes on MBP however it is removing all the data from my IPhone as theere is nothing to sync in my iTunes on MAC Kindly suggest how can I migrate from my previous notebook to this machine.

the simplest way would be to connect the two Macs with a firewire cable, boot the source Mac in _*Target Disk Mode*_, and copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder) from <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on the source to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on the target (overwriting the iTunes folder in place there).
another option is to set up _*Home Sharing*_ on both computers, then transfer the content via your network. however, none of your ratings or playcounts would be retained. also, unless you have your artwork embedded in each file, you would have none of that.

  • Can only access extensive bookmarks list on old computer, not on new Mac or Dell netbook

I have a very old iMac that I have been using for 10 years. I recently got the most recent version of Apple's Mac Mini, which I of course use Firefox on, and I also use Firefox on my Dell Netbook. On the old iMac is a quite extensive list of bookmarks that I have no idea how to port to either the netbook or the new Mac Mini. The troubleshooting ideas I've seen don't really address my problem. Can anyone give me very simply-stated instructions on how to sync up all my bookmarks?

Does that old iMac have a Firefox 2.0.0.x version installed?
If that is the case then you need to copy the file bookmarks.html to the new computer and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.

I assume you mean you can not figure out how to transfer the stuff off the iPod into the Mac library? Because the Mac and Mac iTunes can certain mount, read, and sync a windows formatted iPod.
For stuff purchased from iTunes, you need to authorize the new computer with your account and then you can transfer the iTunes music store stuff directly off the iPod into iTunes. For everything else...

  • Is it safe to upload my music and music video from my old computer to my new mac?   These files are from lime ware, frostwire ext and I don't want to upload virus to my Mac.  thx

what do you guys think about protecting my Mac

Presumably we're talking about illegal music and illegal videos? If so, anything is possible. Downloading any kind of illegal content onto your computer is a foolish thing to do, as it essentially puts your trust in the hands of untrustworthy people. That sort of thing has infected people plenty of times before. My advice would be to delete all of that illegal material immediately, and do not copy it over to the new machine.

  • How can I transfer all my mail and mail boxes to another computer using the same Mac OS 10.7.5?

I have 2 computers with the same OS 10.7.5. How can I transfer all my Mail & Mail boxes from one to the other?

    Hello Gene,
It sounds like you would like to transfer your mail and mailboxes from one computer to another.  I recommend exporting the mailboxes from one Mac and then importing them to the destination Mac.  You can find steps in the following articles:

  • On another computer, with a new ipod?

i have two itunes, one with all my song and apps, and another with only song that are in none ipod. and i will have a new ipod.  is it possible to transfer my apps and music in the itunes with just song for using with my new ipod 4? i just want one itunes on my laptop. thx

No that shouldn't make a difference. Read this info from Apple. Using multiple iPods on one computer. I normally use four different iPods off my computer and only had to authorize the computer itself once.
