EBS 11.5.10.2 Dev6i upgrade

OS: Linux x86 RH REL4
DB: 10.2.0.4
EBS: 11.5.10.2
Dev6i: Upgrading from Patch 18 to Patch 19
I am following MOS note "Upgrading Developer 6i with Oracle Applications 11i [ID 125767.1]" and trying to figure out the order of the patches.
When exactly to apply the "interoperability" patches is conflicting in the note since there are 2 patch "download" sections (steps 2 and 3) and then there are three patch "install" sections (steps 5, 6 and 8) and the order of the patches isn't clear.
As best I can tell I apply them in this order as outlined in steps 5, 6 and 8:
=======
Step 5:
6194129 dev6i_patch19 806 patch
=======
Step 6:
14009893 806 patch
=======
Step 8:
9935935 Apps patch
9094950 Apps patch
3830807 806 patch
Is this correct or should patch 3830807 be moved to Step 6?
Thanks, Chaz

Patch 3830807 says to "Relink All" (which taks a long time) using adadmin but Step 7 in note 125767.1 says only to relink these fnd items:
f60webmx ar60run ar60runb ar60rund
Can I just relink these 4 fnd items and be done?Yes.
Thanks,
Hussein

  • Physical to Virtual Copy of 11i EBS and 10gR2 DB instances for Upgrade Test

We recently completed a P2V copy of our 11.5.10.2 EBS instance and its corresponding database. We then ran the adcfgclone.pl script on each tier to rename the SID and basically create a new instance. When I navigate to the newly assigned web address to access this environment for testing, I can get to http://host.domain:port, click on Apps Logon Links, then E-business Home Page. Once I click that, I'm redirected to the original (Physical) instance's site. Any idea how I can resolve this issue?
Please let me know if you need additional information.
    Thanks!
    Kristopher

I've checked all that you mentioned in your post, and everything refers to my new host.domain:port. I haven't made any changes at the OS level regarding this new VM. Are there any OS-level changes that need to be made to point to this new host? I've already run the txkrun.pl script as follows:
    txkrun.pl -script=SetAdvCfg -appsuser=<appsuser> -appspass=<appspass> -enable=HTTPLoadBal
and answered the prompts to reflect the new host and domain.
    Thanks!

  • Upgrading EBS11i to EBS 12.1.1

    Hi ,
I am upgrading Oracle EBS 11i to EBS 12.1.1 by following Upgrade Guide Part# E14010-01. I completed Chapter 2(Preparing for the Upgrade). I am yet to upgrade my Database to 10g R2.
In Chapter 3(upgrading to 12.1.1), I have compled 1)Disable AOL Audit Trail, 2)Shutdown Listeners and Conc Mgrs.
I have a doubt in 3) Migrate database to atleast 10gR2.
At this time what am I supposed to do? I presume that I have to install Oracle 10g s/w in R12 server and copy the cold database backup to the R12 server and upgrade to 10g R2(as per note: 761570.1).
After that should I continue 4th step (Update init.ora with upgrade parameters) onwards on the R12 env?
    Please help.

  • EBS 11g upgrade and DST patches

    OS: Linux X86
    EBS: 11.5.10.2
    DB upgrade: 10.2.0.4 -> 11.2.0.3
I am trying to figure out the process for updating the DST version. Our current version is 4 and we'd like to go to 17.
I am following the following MOS note trail:
    1) Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0) [ID 881505.1]
    2) --> Complying with Daylight Saving Time (DST) and Time Zone Rule Changes in E-Business Suite 11i [ID 458452.1]
    3) ----> Applying the DSTv17 update for the Oracle Database [ID 1362718.1]
    4) ------> Updating the RDBMS DST version in 11gR2 (11.2.0.1 and up) using DBMS_DST [ID 977512.1]
Regarding the DST DB patches, it seems to me that there is nothing to do "before" the upgrade and that the key steps are in MOS Note 977512.1 sections 3 and 4 and are done "after" the DB upgrade to 11.2.0.3.
But, MOS note 458452.1 says to do the DB DST patches before the Application Tier and EBS DST patches.
So, could I plan the DST patches as follows?
    1) Upgrade the DB to 11.2.0.3 (no DST DB patching done to the 10.2.0.4 DB)
    2) Apply DB DST patches
    3) Apply Application Tier DST patches
    4) Apply EBS DST patches
    Thanks!

  • Upgrade to 11.0.2.0.3 in multi home environment and ASM 11.0.2.0.2

    Hi,
I have a multi home and multi inventory database environment on one box where I consolidated all my test environments.
    Everything is running 11.2.0.2
I have 5 database homes , the ASM/network home and a OEM agent home.
But now I see I have to have a 11.2.0.3 database for Oracle EBS 11i.
    Now my question:
Can i only upgrade (out of place) the one oracle home from witch I will run the EBS db?
    or
Should I upgrade the ASM home and the EBS db home and keep the other db homes on 11.2.0.2 ?
Where can I find the certification matrix for ASM vs. DB version?
    Thank you
    Phillip du Plooy

Phillip du PlooyFrom 11gR2 every upgrade is now out-of-place upgrades.
So if you need to upgrade from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3, the you need to install 11.2.0.3 in new oracle_home first.
And then upgrade your 11.2.0.2 database.
Now the question about ASM- yes you can run 11.2.0.3 database on 11.2.0.2 asm version during upgrade and upgrade your asm later. But i would suggest you to upgrade your ASM first then oracle database.
Here is what you would be doing
    - install new 11.2.0.3 and perform ASM upgrade
    - install new 11.2.0.3 home for database
    - upgrade the database

  • How to install the Oracle Apps R12 with an existing OAS 10g

    Hi All,
I am planning to install the Oracle Apps R12 and I already downloaded the media-pack from edelivery.oracle.com.
But I am not sure how to do it because I have tree-tier architecteur at home :
One computer with LINUX OS (OEL 5.5) which hold the Oracle Database 11gR2 -- Database tier
One computer with LINUX OS (OEL 5.5) which hold the Oracle Application Server 10g ver 10.2.0 (infra and middle) -- Midel-tier
One computer with XP OS -- Client tier
Could any one explain me how to install it?
    Regards,

But I am not sure how to do it because I have tree-tier architecteur at home :

Could any one explain me how to install it?Do you already have a Database and Oracle AS10g installed? Please elaborate more.
Oracle Apps R12 comes with 11gR1 database, and to do multi-node installation please refer to these threads.

    Hi Sybrand
Please do not answer this type of question.
By answering this question you endorse abuse of this forum.I agree wiht you, i face same issue many time at EBS forum site, linux,db installation upgrade etc..Some of Posters many times dont read anything or dont make any search for their issue. Mostly they just make posts in forum sides for their questions wihtout any search. I agree wiht your words again because many posters expect we read something for them and give solution for them which is very bad. Those cycle has been exist in past and it will be exists at future, because i belive its related wiht human behaviour and human behaviour doesnt change soo quickly
But i am not aggree wiht "do not answer this type questions" part. I belive ppl should answer who have time or who wanna give response for those kind of questions. We are volunteer here and i belive we should try to help who wants to expect help from us. At least we should give them correct path like " try to use search mechanisim or try to use metalink or search engines", This is what i am thinking

  • Upgrading ebs database from 10g to 11g

    Hi,
By following Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0.1) [ID 1265268.1]
i am doing a test upgrade.
As part of upgrade, only the oracle home location is changed. sid, host and port all are same as previous.
After running dbua, for autoconfig, changing the OH path in xml file and run autoconfig is fine? or any other steps are needed?
    Thanks,
    Kavitha

    Hi,
Could you please tell us which step you are refering to in the document. During upgrade you do not have to change the ORACLE HOME any where in XML file
But you need to run perl adbldxml.pl
As mentioned in step 22 of "Interoperability Notes Oracle EBS 11i with Oracle Database 11gR2 (11.2.0.1) [ID 1265268.1]"
    On application tier
         Source the env file
         $$ADPERLPRG $AD_TOP/bin/admkappsutilpl
    Copy appsutil.zip to $ORALCE_HOME/.
    Unzip –o appsutil.zip
    cp –r $11g oracle home <which came with rapidwiz> $ORACLE_HOM/appsutil/jre
    On the database tier
    Source database env file
    Export JRE_TOP=$ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/jre
    $cd $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/bin
    $perl adbldxml.pl
    $sh adconfig.sh
    Thanks
