EBS 12.1.3 RAC to RAC Cloning with Shared Appl_Top

BismillahirRehmanirRahim
Dear All,
I need to Clone our Production EBS Environment from RAC to RAC with Shared APPL_TOP and Multi Tier Appl Tiers.
We have EBS 12.1.3 Environment with 2 Appl Tier Nodes with Shared Appl_Top & EBS DB is on 11gR2 RAC 11..2.0.4.
I am following Doc IDs 406982.1 & 559518.1.
But its not clear which directories need to be copy and restore for Shared Appl top on each Node.
Also what Steps will need to be executed on Each Nodes and
What Steps need to be executed only on one Node.
Appreciate your feedback.
P.S.
Kindly share if anyone have Step by Step Doc for RAC to RAC EBS Cloning.

Hi Hussein,
thanks for the reply.
+The path is different (first path is db while the second one is apps), so copy the file from the source instance to $COMMON_TOP/clone/context/apps directory on the target instance and try then -- Troubleshooting RapidClone issues with Oracle Applications R12 [ID 603104.1]+
What I meant to say that CTXORIG.xml already exists in the correct directory in the target system:
$COMMON_TOP/clone/context/apps
Anyways, I recopied the file from source to the target system $COMMON_TOP/clone/context/apps, but still the same problem. I'll continue reading "Troubleshooting RapidClone issues with Oracle Applications R12 [ID 603104.1]".
I noticed below when running "perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier" with perl debug mode:
Cwd::_backtick_pwd(<10.1.3 ORACLE_HOME>/perl/lib/5.8.3/aix-thread-multi/Cwd.pm:204):
204: local @ENV{qw(PATH IFS CDPATH ENV BASH_ENV)};
DB<1> s
Cwd::_backtick_pwd(<10.1.3 ORACLE_HOME>/perl/lib/5.8.3/aix-thread-multi/Cwd.pm:205):
205: my $cwd = `$pwd_cmd`;
DB<1> s
pwd: No such file or directory
Cwd::_backtick_pwd(<10.1.3 ORACLE_HOME>/perl/lib/5.8.3/aix-thread-multi/Cwd.pm:207):
207: local $/ = "\n";
DB<1> s

    Edit /u01/startapps.sh  and stopapps.sh
    Add VIS to the environment lines " . /u01/E-BIZ/apps/apps_st/appl/APPS*.env"
    Change to => ". /u01/E-BIZ/apps/apps_st/appl/APPSVIS*.env"
    I had the same problem found the solution here...refer to the Fix Environment File section of the following
    http://ltd.kentw.co.uk/technical/r12-installation/create-apps-vm/
    A little late, I hope it helps someone in the future..

  • Cloning non-RAC to RAC ?

    Hi,
    Is it true that Oracle does not support cloning of single node instance EBS R12.1 (Non-RAC) to RAC?
    Is there other supported way to do it? both using rapid clone or manual?
    Thanks a lot
    MsK

    Hi,
    How about the patches needed? Make sure you have the latest Rapid Clone and AutoConfig patches applied on the source instance.
    Our source db is 11.1.0.7, and the target db is also 11.1.0.7 ....but there are patches mentioned in 802875.1
    Do I need to follow this Note?If you are already on 11.1.0.7, then you do not need to apply those patches.

  • Oracle Apps RAC TO RAC cloning from Netbackup(tape)

    Hi,
    I am doing RAC to RAC cloning on linux 5 following is the note id i follow
    Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 RAC-Enabled Systems with Rapid Clone [ID 559518.1]
    In this note step 4.2 we use adclone.pl to prepare the stage on source using "Method=Rman", i think this creates image backup of the database on source system
    In step 5.1.4.1 we restore the database on target using the stage backup we took in source.
    So, here i was thinking if it is possible to use Netbackup server (tapes) for "rmanstage=" parameter. Because we don't have that much disk space to accommodate backup and as with Rman duplicate database we directly connect to tape with auxiliary for cloning, Please let me know if we can use this process with the above adclone.pl
    Thanks,

    Hi Tanveer,
    Yes what you want is allowed, you are free to clone your DB using rman outside of the cloning utilities.
    When you want this make sure you follow:
    Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 RAC-Enabled Systems with Rapid Clone [ID 559518.1] >> Section 8: Advanced Cloning Scenarios >> 8.1 Cloning the Database Separately

  • Steps to Convert R12 Non-Rac to RAC database with ASM

    dear All,
    We have following environment.
    R12.0.6 with a non RAC 11.2.0.2 database on on AIX (64bit). Datafiles are stored local filesystem. We want to do the following.
    Migrate the database file to ASM
    convert database Non RAC to RAC
    we have gone through many oracle support documents but were unable to decide which path we should adopt. Any body who has done similar activity; please share only highly level steps. No step by step Instructions are needed. e.g. Install Grid Infrastructure (for single instance or the one which comes with cluster home???????), Move datafiles to ASM etc etc
    Please make sure the steps are for 11gR2 and EBS R12.

  • Pointing existing RAC nodes to a fresh Shared Storage discarding old one

    Hi,
    I have a RAC Setup with the Primary Database on Oracle 10gR2.
    For this setup, there is a Physical Standby Database Setup (using DataGuard configuration) also with 30min delay.
    Assume that the "Shared Storage" of the Primary DB fails completely.
    In the above scenario, my plan is to refresh a "fresh" shared storage device using Physical Standby Database Setup and then "point" the RAC nodes to the new "Shared Storage".
    Is this possible?
    Simply put, how can I refresh the Primary database using the Standby Database?
    Please help with the utilities (RMAN, DatGuard, other non-Oracle products etc.) that can be used to do this.
    Regards

    Does following Shared Device configuration is fine for 10g RAC on Windows 2003?
    . 1 SCSI drive
    • Two PCI network adapters on each node in the cluster.
    • Storage cables to attach the shared storage device to all computers.
    regard.

  • RAC Node Addition fails with - " VIP is already in use "

    We had a two-node RAC on oracle 10gR2 with ASM. We removed the second node and now trying to add it back as the second node again.
    CRS and ASM got extended on to the second node but when trying to add the Db home, it gives an error in the oui :
    "Unable to connect to the second node, when clicked ok is shows as VIP for node <NODENAME> is already in use"
    CRS is running fine on both the nodes and VIP for both the nodes is shown in CRS_STAT.
    Has anyone seen this error message earlier?

    select parallel
    from V$instance;
    -- run it on your any RAC instance. if YES then you have converted to RAC

  • Non RAC to RAC

    Hi,
    I need to convert a Non-rac to RAC. Can somebody help me with note or doc for doing this ?
    Thx

    1. Set the init parameter cluster_database=false (or remove it since false is the default). You'll have to set it in the parameter file since it is not dynamic.
    2. Shutdown all instances. Start the one that you want to survive.
    3. Cleanup as necessary: remove extra UNDO, REDO files
    4. If you want to remove clusterware, that's another whole question. There's a ML article on how to remove clusterware.
    5. If your database uses ASM, you'll need to do #1 for the ASM instances as well.
    That's high-level, but I haven't seen a complete paper/procedure for this published anywhere yet.

  • Oracle 11gR2 - RAC to RAC replication via SAN

    Hi,
    Anyone there experience before on Oracle 11gr2 RAC to RAC via EMC SRDF setup? Please share some information and also provide links if there is any white paper/technical paper.
    Thanks
    Edited by: 858013 on May 11, 2011 12:10 AM

    In SAN replication, the database instance at the remote site cannot be started up and running as the SAN cannot allow read-write access to the filesystems.
    When the primary site goes down, you simply issue a STARTUP at the remote site --- provided that the SAN replication has guaranteed write ordering, else you will have a corrupted database. That is why it is very important to talk to your SAN storage vendors to get the replication setup correctly.
    (If the replication is correctly done, the STARTUP will "see" that the database files are fuzzy and that the onlin redo log files are available and attempt an Instance Recovery -- as if the instance / server had crashed or suffered a shutdown abort).

  • RAC to RAC physical standby DB creation

    Oracle version : 11.2.0.2
    Platform : Solaris
    I have created Physical Standby DBs of standalone DBs using RMAN's DUPLICATE command. Now , I need to create a Physical Standby
    for a 2-node RAC primary DB. The standby will also be in a 2-node RAC.
    In the standby site, Grid is succesfully installed , ASM instances are up and Diskgroup for the standby DB is ready. What are the extra changes that I need to make for RAC to RAC standby DB creation.
    Currently, this is what I am planning to do
    After
    1. Establishing connectivity from standby to primary
    and
    2. Moving backup to standby
    and
    3. Starting the standby instance (not MOUNTing it)
    From Node1 of standby server, I will run
    primdb -- The tns entry to connect to Primary DB
    $RMAN target sys/mypass@primdb auxiliary /
    RMAN> duplicate target database for standby dorecover;

    Whatever procedure you are looking, All provided by Mseberg
    Addition to that,
    As you are in 11g, You can perform duplicate from active database without backup. here you no need to copy those backups to standby server.
