EBS on windows XP

HI All
I know that I am posting this question in a wrong place but please help me with this.
I have installed EBS R12.1.1 on a windows XP machine.
Now I want to startup the EBS instance and these are the steps I follow for the same
1. Go to windows services and startup the following servies one by one
Oracle Process Manager for XXXX
OracleXXXX_TOOLSProcessManager
OracleXXXX_TOOLSTNSListenerAPPS_PMF
OracleXXXX_db111_RDBMSTNSListenerPMF
OracleServiceXXXX
Now my instance is up and I login from front end, also my db is up and running.
But however none of my concurrent request runs, for this I rad that I have to start the following serive
OracleConcMgrXXXX
But however when I start this service the instance goes down and I cant login from front end.
Is there any solution to this.
Please let me know as I want to use this instance urgently.

You should start the database and the database listener then start the application services.
What is the error you get when you try to login?
Can you find any errors in the database and the CM log files?
Any errors in the application.log file?
How much memory do you have on this machine? Please note that R12 requires at least 4 GB of RAM, so if you have less memory it's an expected behavior to see this error when you start the CM.

EBS WITH WINDOWS VISTA

I would like to know if somebody already has a solution to have access the EBS 11.5.10.2 saw to browser IE 7 with Windows Vista.
Some notebooks of users (customer) has windows vista installed and it does not have access.

That is unfortunate and may now be dated. I recently bought a laptop with Windows Vista Premium as OS. At work, I did try to logon wirelessly to apps server. I could logon to the applications. But when the applet starts running, IE7 tried to download the JInitiator and it took a very long time to complete. Thinking it is in hung state and going nowhere, I closed the window and downloaded JInitiator from OTN. Installed it and then tried accessing apps. No luck. The browser restarts and goes back to the browser's default home page. The same happened with Firefox 2.0 also.
Finally, I tried Netscape browser 8.1 and after prolonged patient waiting, it worked. But did not work in IE7 and Firefox 2.0. I suspect it may be something to do with the firewall settings. I am now planning on uninstalling Firefox 2.0 and reinstalling it.
Bottomline, I could access apps via the applet using Netscape browser 8

Accessing EBS from Windows 7

Hello friends
I'm newbie to Oracle EBS. We are using EBS on test server with Demo/Vision Database. Few days ago my boss asked me to make sure my other colleague who is Financial Consultant can access EBS Home from Windows XP. I installed JVM, edited host file and started access, though it was first time I configured client PC.
But today when I tried same method on laptop which have Windows 7 installed on it, I couldn't access the Server, using IE 9.
Any idea, please let me know.

Sorry for not being cleared about the issue.
What does "I couldn't access the Server" mean ?Actually I meant I can't access the main login page from Client.
Can you ping the server IP Address as well as hostname.domainname from the client?Thanks again Hussein & Srini, the issue has been resolved after I checked IP, I could ping the IP but when I was ping hostname it was showing a different IP then the original. Actually while listing the IP address & hostname in clients hosts file, it was not allowing me to save the file due to some privileges problem so I saved it in .txt file, backuped the original file and then moved hosts.txt to the hosts file location, I think it was cause of error.
But now I copied the original file on another location amended that and moved it to it's original location so now I'm able to access EBS :)

Install EBs in Windows 2000 SP4 (for cloning process)

Hi:
I am trying to install EBS(11.5.5) in Windows 2000 SP4
Running rapidwiz.cmd advance smoothly until the screen where conducts checkups system.
If it find error, moves to the screen where summary shows what went wrong, but once you solve all problems and restart the installation process (also reset the system), rapidwiz.cmd reaches the screen where shows the process checkups but does not move to the screen that shows the summary where it failed. And not progressing, never show any error.
Any suggestions?

Hi, The log file(C:\TEMP) don't say nothing respect to error.

Oracle EBS with Windows vista

I recently brought HP laptop, which came with windows vista OS. I can't go back to XP. Drivers does not support any other OS.
Did any body try installing oracle apps version 11 down loaded from oracle site.
Please advise me!!!

Oracle E-Business Suite 11i/R12 is not yet certified on Microsoft Vista.

If you can manage to use VMware and install some other certified OS, it would be better.

Is there any suggested antivirus that are used widely without any errors or performance degradation?
And is there any Virus Scan Exclusions list for oracle application and DB

Install Oracle EBS on Windows Server 2003 R2 hosted on Oracle VM VirtualBox

I had run md5sum to verify the integrity of the stage 12.1.1 area directory successfully
installation process stopped on Step 3 of 5 at 53 % (The lower Status bar shows 92% ) with the common error "Oraccle JAAS Exception : 9"
I had Install VS 2005 express with latest updates
I had install the latest cygwin 1.71 and enusre that the make version is 3.81
i review all the releated docs. except doc No. ID 1333997.1 cause i cannot execute the steps inside
this problem drive me crazy

How to up concurrent manager in R12 EBS installation in windows 2003 server

Hi,
I have installed R12 EBS on windows 2003 server. It was working fine for 2 days.
Then suddenly when I submitted some concurrent program ,
status was "No Manager" i.e. concurrent manager was down.
I dont know how to restart/start concurrent manager .
Any help will be greatly appreciated .

Thanks hussein , where do I get application env file. I tried stoping cm from the services and then executed file CMCLEAN.sql and then restarted cm from services menu. However still I can't see cm running in application. I bounced the server also before restartingConfiguration and Environment Files

Did you commit the changes after running cmclean.sql? If yes, please check the CM log file for any errors.

Installing on EBS R12 on Windows 7 Home Basic 64 Bit??

Hi Experts,
I ordered a Sony Vaio laptop with i5 processor, 500GB Hard Disk, 4 GB Ram just for installing EBS R12. It came with Windows 7 Home Basic 64 Bit..............Is there any article with step by step procedure?? What are your comments on Installing on Win 7 64bit??

You cannot install EBS on Windows 7.
One option is to install VM software (like VMWare or VirtuaBox), then install OEL 5.7 in the VM, then install EBS on OEL 5.7
Your hardware specs (disk, RAM) are not enough - if you follow the above, the install will be extremely slow and unusable. You will likely need 1TB of disk and at least 6GB (or 8GB) of RAM for the VM in order to have a usable install.

i am trying to install oracle EBS on windows 2003 server enterprise edition , i have installed these prerequisites :
1 - MKS Toolkit version 7.0
2 - JDK 1.3.9
3 - Visual C++ 2005 express edition
while checking the system with the startup disk , it is giving me an error :
system utilities check : - check system for make , id , ar , and cc
system utilities check : command : cmd.exe/c D:\rapidwiz\bin\checkutil.cmd C:\program files\mkstoolkit C:\program files\microsoft visual studio 8\VC
D:\rapidwiz>echo off
'which' command is not available. Check MKS installation

Error- System Utilities Availability test has returned an error: 1

What is the application release you are trying to install? Please note that 11.5.10.2 RapidWiz automatically installs JDK 1.4.2 on the Solaris, Linux, and Windows operating systems.

1- Why the Platform is showing linux 32 as this instance is running on a Linux 64 bit server   ?

          Using Latest Java 6.0 Update With Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Doc ID 455492.1)
        Successfully completed.
4 - Upgrade OracleAS 10g to 10.1.3.5
      Note:Upgrading to the Latest OracleAS 10g 10.1.3.x Patch Set in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Doc ID 454811.1)
      Successfully completed
5 - Upgrade JDK to 7u25 on both both 10.1.2 and 10.1.3 Homes

You need to use mkstoolkit or cywgwin to work EBS on windows coz of to can run some perl and also can use some command as kill, ps, ls etc..Apps tier also need that program can compile something inside.

Please note that 12.1.x is not certified on Windows 64-bit for fresh installation so you will need to install on Windows 32-bit then migrate to 64-bit.

My question is quite amateurish hence apologies !!!
I want to upgrade to ERP from BI domain and thought of undertaking EBS self learning in spare time.
what i am stuck up with is that i can see loads of installation DIY and Guides for EBS on Windows/Linux
1.how should one proceed further to install SCM /CRM
2. what can we do with the current installation ( is that for the technical Apps DBA people to do the admin stuff)
3. What is the end user interface of EBS
4. In what steps should i study to reach A functional skill
5.are there Guides available /OBE 's which teach functional skills
