Hi,
1) I am good in Finance module but i do not have finance background, can i got the job EBS finance ?Having a finance background would be helpful. However, I have met many functional persons with no finance background, so you are familiar with the finance terms and the cycle between the modules, then I think you can manage to get familiar with the application.
How to become a functional consultant?
How to become a functional consultant?
2) also i am good in T&L and HR but i am not MBA, so these module are required minimum qualification is MBA in respective filed like marketing or HRI believe my answer above is applicable here.
3) if choose manufacturing, thats required engineering and i don't have engineering degree. i have experience in process and project manufacturing Again, see my answer to your first question.
I am simple graduate and experience of business process and industry experience. so kindly if you measuring my knowledge and experience which module best suit for me.From what you mentioned in your post, I can tell that you have a functional experience, and I would suggest you go with the financial part. However, this is just a personal opinion and I believe no one can tell which part is good for you as you are the best one to decide which module is the best fit for you.

    Thanks

  • Integration with Hyperion and OBIEE

    Hi All,
I am planning to integrate Hyperion Workspace and shared Services with OBIEE.
    The Environment is windows server 2008 R2 64 bit OS, Hyperion 11.1.2.3 64 bit, Obiee 11.1.1.7 64bit and Database is Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) - 64bit.
We are planning to  installing EPM System on the same machine on which Oracle BI EE or BI Publisher are installed, Can i install two different Middleware homes ? are Can i install Single Middleware?
Which product i nead to install first?( I am planning to install Hyperion first then configure it after i am planning to install and configure obiee is it correct process)
After the install and configuration of both the hyperion and obiee products i nead to configure any extra activities  for integration hyperion (workspace and shared services)with obiee?

    Hi,
It is mentioned in Jon's blog entry, you must edit the HSSRegistration.bat file.
    Near the top add:
    set ORACLE_BI_HOME=E:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1
    set ORACLE_HOME=E:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1
    set JAVA_HOME=E:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1\jdk
Editing for your environment as appropriate.

  • Discoverer ,Hyperion and OBIEE ?

Plz told me Discoverer ,Hyperion and OBIEE are olap tools are etl tools
    thanks

    Hi Khan,
If I understand your question correctly
Both OBIEE and Discoverer are primarily reporting tools that can perform some redimentary ETL functions based on their EUL. They can interact with both OLAP sources and relational sources.
Hyperion has a suite of products. See here for the list. You'll have to be more specific if you want me to answer particular questions about those products.
    Good luck!

  • OBIEE integrated with EBS: Directly logon to OBIEE without going via EBS route

    Hi All,
I want to integrate EBS security with OBIEE without enabling Action Links in EBS.I am taking the following approach
Configuring a Database as the Authentication Provider using FND tables
If the approach is right then should I Configuring a New Trusted User (BISystemUser)  also.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    SYK

    Hello SYK,
Yes you can do that. What is the URL you are trying to use when you are logging via EBS?
    Thanks,

  • Passing responsibility id from EBS home page to OBIEE

    Hi All,
I do have a simple question concerning resposibility id in Oracle Financials.
When we click on EBS home page, the user generally gets to select a responsibility via which he wants to login in ebs, if that responsibility is having access to BI dashboard, he is displayed the link to dashboard.
Now in my Repository i am having a initialization block called FNDGetSecContext
    with the following query
    select FND_GLOBAL.RESP_ID,
    FND_GLOBAL.RESP_APPL_ID,
    FND_GLOBAL.SECURITY_GROUP_ID,
    FND_GLOBAL.RESP_NAME,
    FND_GLOBAL.USER_ID,
    FND_GLOBAL.EMPLOYEE_ID,
    FND_GLOBAL.USER_NAME from dual
Now assuming a single user belongs to two responsibilties A and B, both of these responsibilities have access to BI Dashboards, user selects responsibility A while on EBS home page, gets the link to BI dsahboard displayed and logs inot BI portal using his userid and pasword.
In this scenario , what will the above initializationn block yield, wil the Resp_ID session variable which will be populated by the FNDGetSecContext initialization block contain ,the responsibility id which the user selected while on EBS home page i.e A as responsibility ID or will it contain all the Responsibility Id's related to the user.
If it returns all the responsibilities, how can I pass the reponsibility id which the user selected on EBS home page i.e when he selected responsibility A , he got the BI dashboard link displayed and he logged in BI dashboard. How will I pass the reponsibility via which the user has logged in, to OBIEE session variables.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Oracle EBS and Hyperion

    Dear Experts,
We are currently using Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 and we wanted to implement Hyperion for BI, consolidation and budgeting needs. As you all know that 11.5.10 is now in an extended premium support and we have about 2 years (approx) to migrate to EBS R12.
My question to all is whether Hyperion implementation should be done before R12 upgrade or we should migrate to R12 and then implement Hyperion. What is recommended what is pros and cons of both the approach?
    Thank you in advance.
    qARS

    Hi John,
I thank you for your response. I have no idea about Hyperion as such. What is ERPi? What is the conventional method for interface?

  • Reports spawning from Hyperion to OBIEE takes so long to load

    Hi All,
When an OBIEE report is launched from a hyperlink in any of our Hyperion reports, the serve up time for the OBIEE report is not acceptable (1-5 mins)
And this is on PROD environment. This works just fine back on DEV environment.
When the report is accessed directly from OBIEE, the report takes minimal time to load up..Actual issue is when it is spawned from Hyperion, it is taking ages to load.
    Summary :
When it is spawned from Hyperion, a new browser window is launched and the user is asked to login to OBIEE.
This performs fine and authentication completion is normal.
The OBIEE report then begins to render up and that is what is taking so long.
    Hope that helps.
Can anyone please assist me in this...
    Thanks,
    Surender.

    Hi All,
Any updates on this please, by any chance?
    Thanks,

  • Hyperion and OBIEE+.

    Hi,
My question is, does Hyperion products like SQR reporting comes free with OBIEE, or we need to buy different licenses?

Seperate Licenses for these. OBIEE+ will just give you OBIEE product tool ...
    Hope its useful

  • Has anybody ever worked with EBS subject areas in OBIEE?

What's speciel about Financial, CRM subject areas in OBIEE? Isn't it just a bunch of tables with financial or crm data joined in their own ways?
Does anybody have any doc that describes the specs of such data models and how it works in OBIEE?
    Thank you for your helps

There is a link to the Data Model Reference page in the OBIA documentation. You need a Metalink3 account.

  • ERPI: Data Loading problem Hyperion Planning & Oracle EBS

    Hi
I am trying to load data from Oracle EBS to Hyperion Planning.
When i push data Zero rows are inserted in Target.
When i look at Table " SELECT * FROM TDATASEG "
It is showing me data but it is not comminting data in Target application.
The reason is Data difference in Source (EBS) and Target.
In my source Year is 2013 but in Target 'FY14' so for Entity Source is '21' but Target is '2143213'
Can you please let me know how to solve this issue?
can i place a Lookup table for this in EPRI.
i am using EPRI and ODI to push data.
    Regards
    Sher

Have you setup the data load mapping correctly to map the source value to the proper target value? Based on what you are describing it seems that the system generated * to * map is being used, if you are mapping a source to a different target, this needs to be added to the data load mapping.

  • OBIEE vs Hyperion(essbase, planning, IR, WA, FR)

    All,
if a client wants to implement Business Intelligence/OLAP what would you suggest Hyperion (ESSBASE, IR, WA, FR, ) or OBIEE ?As a Architect standspoint.
As a Business User or Business Owner, which is best for me ESSBASE/etc or OBIEE ?
Job scope, which is best ?

I dont think it is a simple either / or. My view is that Performance Management(Hyperion) and Business Intelligence(Siebel/OBIEE) sit side by side. people are using Hyperion and OBIEE together. In the 11g release the product stacks will be much more integrated as one suite (Siebel, Hyperion, and Golden Gate).

  • Direct Database Request - EBS

    Hi All,
I am new to OBIEE but have a question regarding Direct Database Request. We have our EBS data stored in the OBIEE Data Warehouse but we'd also like to be able to use some of our Oracle SQL Developer queries against our EBS database directly using OBIEE as the platform.
Is there any issue with having our EBS data in the data warehouse as well as a data source for Direct Database Requests? I read something about security concerns involving write-access. I figure it's easier to use our SQL queries that we have already created than to attempt to map all of the tables and fields into the data warehouse. Also, some of the queries would be nice to have in real-time.
    Thx,
    Mike

I don't have to worry about the transactional EBS data getting tangled in the data within the warehouse right? Also, are there any security concerns?I dont think so.
I typically use an Appsro (read-only) user when querying EBS data. Will I have the option of using read-only or will I have write access? I ask b/c I read something about this that warned of security risk of overwriting data.Read only is fine, since BI is to see data, unless you implement Write-back functionality there wont be any write(data updates) in db.
