EBS or Lockbox!

Need bit of guidance, Please HELP.
1) Why would someone implement both EBS and Lockbox, when we know that EBS can also provide the incoming payment details and clearing of G/L and A/R entries. Is lockbox provides some additional benefits than in EBS. Do we have to leave-off AR side in EBS as AR will be taken care by the lockbox process!
2) In USA, is BAI the format most widely used for EBS (or some other format like MT940, Multicash and etc). Do we have to do any additional development work to make the incoming bank file work (BAI format) using standard import tcode in EBS (FF_5).
Please help....

Hi
In EBS you will be having the consolidated amount paid by the customer, whereas in the Lockbox, you can have invoice-wise payment made by the customer. So that you can clear the invoices outstanding in the customer account. You can have both EBS and Lockbox. Lock box will post entry to the Deposit Sub GL account of the Bank, which will be cleared through EBS entry posting to the Main bank account and Sub GL account. Lock box will post entry like this
Bank Sub GL account Dr
Lock Box Clearing A/c
and
Lock Box Clearing A/c Dr
Customer A/c
When you do EBS, depending on the External transaction type given in the statement and the posting rule, the following entry will be posted
Main Bank A/c    Dr
Bank Sub GL account Cr
In US other than BAI format, there are banks which give bank statements in MT940 formats also.

  • How does Lockbox matching work?

    Hi All,
We use FEBA to upload our locboxes. I am trying to understand how SAP matches a payment with an open item. I understand that it find the customer with the MICR information, but how does it find the invoice to clear? I looked at the search string and posting rules config for EBS and couldn't really understand it. How does SAP know to match the assignment field, invoice number or reference etc?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
FEBA is not used for importing lockbox files. Use T-code FLB2 for uploading lockbox and FLB1 for post processing function.
    Here accounting entry will be
    Lock Box Clearing account
        To Bank Clearing account
    And
    Bank Clearing Account
        To  Customer account
Once you upload EBS(Electronic Bank Statement) file into SAP then entry will be as below.
    Main bank account
       To  Lock Box clearing account

  • Check encashment vs EBS

Please clarify if check encashment only updates the date the check was cashed? or does it also update the clearing accounts, vendor accoutns etc?
As far as I know EBS updates the clearing as well as check encashment or does it only update the clearing accounts and not check encashment.
I want to know, do the clients go for one of these or both? Can EBS do what check encashment does or vice versa
Also tell me which one check encashment or EBS is easier to configure?
Thanks for your help in advance

    Lakshmi,
that is not true. encashing check also makes clearing entry.
There are two t.codes in SAP , FCHR and FCKR.
Lets say if you have around 200 checks per months manually you can enter them using t.code FCHR , you enter encashment date in them and it updates check register with that date same time it makes below entry,
    Dr. Checks out a/c
    Cr. bank statement account.
t.code FCKR does the same thing with input file, where you can enter all data in an excel sheet and upload them, system will encash checks and will make clearing entries as per encashment dates.(its used when number of encashed checks are more and going through FCHR is time consuming)
EBS does the same thing but , it takes care of other bank transactions as well like, ACH, lockbox, Wires etc.
    I hope that clears.

  • EBS BAI / BAI2 Format Standard File Structures in SAP

    Hello Collegues
We have standard file structures which can be viewed in T.code SE11 for LockBox such as FLB01-FLB09 etc.,
Does anyone know the structure names for EBS BAI or BAI2 or NACHA format.
Also, does SAP allow to process / clear a EBS BAI2 or NACHA format EBS File in T.code FF.5 or FF_5.
I checked in the T.code FF_5 and the std format option is only BAI, Multicash, MT940 etc but no BAI2 or Nacha format.
My Bank is Wells Fargo who sends me EBS file in BAI2 or Nacha format.
    Request your inputs pls
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Amar,
Did you find the answer to this? I’m stuck at the same level

  • Bai file for ebs

    Hi bai file for ebs
    any one can explain me
                       ankita

    Hi
This is(BAI) the format of the file which bank sends to SAP server for updating the transactions of the customer payment.
It is used in US only, for which lockbox configuration is required.
Customer will send payment to Bank and bank will update our bank account and send us the file in BAI format which after uploading in SAP will clear the open items of the customer.
    Thanks

  • When I login to EBS as Japan language session some Forms Application is Eng

    Hi ,
have recently applied japan NLS on r121.1 and later upgraded to 12.1.3 also applied 9239090(japan as well).
But customer has complained the error below.
    Any ideas on it .
    Forms Application is still English.
When I login to EBS as Japan language session, some Forms Application is English.
    e.g
    user MFG
    pass welcome
    Resp Manufacturing and Distribution Manager
    Path Inventory>品目>品目関連
    Thanks

ls: /u100/app/HONDA1/orhonda1/oracle/aphonda1/apps/apps_st/appl/po/12.0.0/forms/JA/POXRQVRQ.fmx: No such file or directoryThis indicates that the fmx file was not generated via adadmin -- Can you upload the adadmin log file here?
and also, after logging into the application selecting japan,to the left side i can see some responsibilities in english still..Is this the normal behaviour.No.
Have you generated all NLS menus via adadmin? If possible, upload the log file.
In the preferences tab when i check, logging to application with english can see the below..
Current Session Language :- American English
Default Session Language :- American English
    Is the above correct ?
Do we need to perform any steps to so that we can see the responsibilites in english.Change the session language to Japanese and check then.
    Thanks,

  • XML Publisher Report in EBS without Standard Oracle Report

    Hi folks ,
    i have some questions.
Can I create a XML Publisher Report for the EBS without a Standard Oracle Report in EBS.
So that I can build up the files with the Desktop Publisher, create Data Definition / Template with Upload / Create the executable und concurrent and than only start the new program in EBS ?
I have the situation that I can start my program with the template in the background but ít is searching for the report on the file system.
Thanks in advance for the feedback.
    regards
    Kay

    Hi Ravi ,
can i do it only with the xml Publisher , because when i tried it in the past and get all the staff like Template / DD / CP up and running and started the CR i get an error from the system that he is missing a report directly in the file system... so he searched for the report himself on system like a standard 6i Report. But the template and the dd is stored in the db. So my question again, can I use the XML Puplisher without a Standard Report or can i use a dummy file only for checking and after that he use my template / dd.
    regards
    Kay

    solution:
To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Download and review the readme and pre-requisites for iAS Patch 18855074.
Note: Above Merge Label Request (MLR) is build for EBS 12.1.3 having OC4J 10.1.3.5.
    2. Enable the profile option "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled".
    a. Login as SYSADMIN user and Navigate to System >Profile  and Search for "EBS Adapter for BPEL, Function Security Enabled" (Internal name :EBS_ADAPTER_FUNCTION_SEC_ENABLED)
    b. Set the Value to 'Y' at SITE level . This means  function security feature is enabled and all API calls for PL/SQL APIs, Oracle e-Commerce Gateway, and concurrent programs will be checked for user security before they are invoked.
    3. Retest the issue by Generating and Deploying the required package.
    4. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.
    Thanks

It is clearly saying failed to check user in DB
Description : ORA-00942: table or view does not exist in the method "oracle.iam.connectors.ebs.usermgmt.integration.EBSUserManagementHelper : isEmployeeExist".
    Check your connector installation again.

  • Error while invoking a EBS

    Hi,
I created an BPEL process process and tried to invoke an ESB process.
ESB process is created using EBS.
while i am trying to initiate the process with out any input in BPELconsole it is giving error that
'Could not initiate the BPEL process because the input xml is not well formed, the reason is :
Error parsing envelope: (1, 1) Start of root element expected. Please correct the input xml.'
Is it mandatory to pass values to all attribute or is this any other issue.
I checked by passing few values.
    Could anyone suggest on this.
