EBS R11.5.10 in oracle edelivery

Hello,
I understood from the forum that R11.5.10 is no longer available in edelivery. However, in edelivery when I selected from the drop down list below:
Select a Product Pack: On Demand
Platform : Linux (x86)
I get the below options to download:

2. Oracle® E-Business Suite Certified Configuration Release 11.5.10 QU 3.0 Media Pack for Linux x86 36GB
I would like to know, if one of the above is the installation files for EBS R11.5.10
If you could kindly advice, thanks for your help.

There is are some testing servlets used in 11i,
For testing purpose you can deploy your servlet in the following directory,

The standard testing servlet can be accessed from

Is it possible to install Oracle EBS R12 on existing (shell) Oracle 11.1.0.7 DB?

OK...I could be crazy, but I didn't see doing an installation of EBS R12 on a pre-existing 11.1.0.7 DB in there anywhere. It looked like the regular install directions. Are you sure?If you mean to say if you can install R12 with an existing EBS/standalone database then the answer is No.
If you mean to say if you can lay down R12 software (to upgrade from 11i) with an existing EBS database then the answer is Yes.
I hope it is clean now.

  • EBS R11.5 username/passwords in WLS 11.1.1.3

    Hi,
I dont know is this the right category to post this thread. But, anyway, I have a application in Jdev 11.1.1.3.
We already have EBS R11.5 running in our organization. Our requirement is that, we donot want to create again usernames in weblogic 11.1.1.3 for this application.
How can I use same username/passwords of EBS in weblogic?
    Regards.

    Hi
No, you cannot reuse the same users from EBS on this weblogic server. Weblogic server needs to have its own users created to access your application once deployed. Or you can configure Weblogic Server with any external security provider like any LDAP Active Directory. Or you can create your own Custom Authenticator. And in this, you can authenticate the users against the EBS Security database. I am not familiar with EBS side.
Are the users created in EBS itself. Or is EBS configured with some LDAP like that. If LDAP is used, configure the same LDAP on weblogic domain also.

  • Creating staging area for setup downloaded from Oracle Edelivery

    Hi,
I am going to install EBS 12.1.1 on RHEL 5.3
I have downloaded the setup from edelivery.oracle.com
Now I was wondering how I should create stage area.
I came to know from couple of posts from Hussein that as I have downloded the setup(no CDs/DVDs),I just have to copy the downloaded file under the stage area directory
    and then unzip those files.
But I came to know from EBS R12.1.1 installatioin guide that there has to be five sub-directories,before you actually start installation, namely
startCD, oraApps, oraDB, oraAS, and oraAppDB
    So,my question is
Will these directories get created automatically when I unzip the downloaded files?
Do I have to unzip the downloded files in any particular sequence(so that these five sub-directories get created properly)?

I came to know from couple of posts from Hussein that as I have downloded the setup(no CDs/DVDs),I just have to copy the downloaded file under the stage area directory
    and then unzip those files.Correct.
But I came to know from EBS R12.1.1 installatioin guide that there has to be five sub-directories,before you actually start installation, namely
startCD, oraApps, oraDB, oraAS, and oraAppDBThis is valid only if you stage the files from the Media Pack. If you have downloaded the file from e-Delivery website, then just place the files in one directory, extract it there and this will create the stage area directory for you.
    So,my question is
Will these directories get created automatically when I unzip the downloaded files?Yes.
Do I have to unzip the downloded files in any particular sequence(so that these five sub-directories get created properly)? The sequence does not matter, just make sure you have all the directories created.
You may also run md5sum as per (MD5 Checksums for R12.1.1 Rapid Install Media [ID 802195.1]) to verify the integrity of the stage area directory once you are done with the staging.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Oracle EBS R12 - DR setup using Oracle Data Guard

    Hi,
Our customer has implemented Oracle EBS R12 (12.0.6) on a Two Node RAC on HP-UX env. The application Tier also has Two Nodes(Admin Tier and Web Tier).
Oracle Clusterware - OCR and Vote Disk are on Raw Devices and the EBS database is on ASM.
Customer wants to implement a DR solution with Oracle Data Guard with only 2 servers - 1 for the Database Tier and 1 for the Application Tier on the DR Site.
I would like to know if this could be done by following note: 452056.1? I would also like to know if there are other useful docs.
    Thanks.
    Thiru

    Hi,
Customer escalated this issue to Oracle and they came up with this reply:
They can implement Disaster recovery solution from RAC to NON RAC using Solution A which use RMAN utilities for backup and recovery.
While now AMP Application Management Pack gives the capablitiy to build non RAC from RAC Envioment, In future AMP will be capable also to support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
    Details
    Solution A - Using RMAN:
For Release 12 customers, you can clone from a RAC to RAC (like to like) or RAC to non-RAC. This is using RMAN scripts to take a copy of the db when it’s in archive mode. if you’re leveraging any disaster recovery tools like data guard, the above solution should work fine…perhaps some fine tuning to the procedures
Solution B - Using AMP in the future release
For Release 11i , Release 12.x customers, AMP would be offering a new cloning solution that wouldn’t have dependency on Rapid Clone. This solution leverages the strengths of EM Grid Control in provisioning or cloning targets such as databases. This would be an advance solution that would support:
    o A full-fledged scale down cloning
o Cloning of EBS deployed on Shared File System
o Hot and Cold mode cloning
o Quantifiable reduction in clone time for the entire EBS system
This solution would be leveraging EM grid Control’s DB provisioning pack’s clone utilities, that are quite advanced and support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
The recommendation is to start trialing AMP version 3.0, making the purchase and implementing within the Enterprise. As we release the new version of AMP (release 3.0.1), Customer would be in a better position to quickly implement the latest features
Can anyone let me know if the solution A suggested will work.
    Rgds,
    Thiru

  • EBS Patch Recommendations via My Oracle Support is coming... get involved

Here is a chance to be involved in the feedback look for extending the collector based patch recommendations interface in MOS to include the extensive EBS suite.
If you are actively involved with evaluating patches for installation in your Oracle EBS, you should consider getting involved in this early stage. We will look to a wide selection of EBS customers to gather one-on-one feedback starting around Jan 2010.
Visit the [Community Thread|https://communities.oracle.com/portal/server.pt/community/view_discussion_topic/216?threadid=64563&aggregatorResults=T64563T58797T63711T64309T64508T63399&threadAggregatorPage=1&threadAggregatorPageSize=10&documentAggregatorPage=1&documentAggregatorPageSize=10&returnUrl=https://communities.oracle.com/portal/server.pt/community/using_my_oracle_support/221#64563] to Get Involved!

    Hello All,
    The issue is resolved.
The problem in my case was the presence of more than one organization ID in oracle support portal - i.e., my organization apparently has multiple Oracle support contracts. The Oracle collector does not know which ID to use, so none of the collected information shows up in the support portal.
To fix this, the Oracle collector must be "told" which ID to use using this command:
    ./configCCR -s ID_goes_in_here email_address_used_for_oracle_support_login_goes_here country_code_goes_here
    Example: ./configCCR -s 1234567890 [email protected] US
    Once that is done, use:
    ./emCCR collect
To force the collection of information and upload to support.oracle.com
    That's all.
Regardless of whether there are multiple IDs or just one, this situation may arise any time the collector cannot determine the organization ID during initial setup.
On a sadder note, having gone though this process, it turns out that OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 patch recommendations are not supported by the collector anyway. So, this was all a bit of a waist...
Back to researching the patches manually.....
Does anybody have a good process for patching OBIEE?
Thank you all for your responses. Hope this information helps somebody.
