EBS R12 and OATM

Hello,
Is migration to OATM a mandatory prerequisite / co-requisite for upgrading Oracle E-Business Suite Apps from 11i to R12 - or can the upgrade be undertaken without migrating to OATM and then taking up OATM migration as a separate activity ?
Thanks,
Rakesh

Rakesh,
I would strongly recommend migrating to OATM before starting the upgrade process. I did manage to upgrade a non-OATM instance but I encountered many errors during the upgrade. The next time I tired the upgrade with an OATM instance, the upgrade went smooth with no errors.

  • Pre-requisite checker script for EBS R12 and R12.1

    hi
is it possible to make a pre-requisite checker script (in perl or shell) for EBS R12 and R12.1 in RHEL5 or sun OS??
can anyone help / guide me to do so??
    rgrds

I don't know about EBS R12, but apparently the Oracle Universal Installer can use options to just run the prerequisite checks without having to install the product.
    E.g. /runInstaller -prereqChecker or -executeSysPrereqs
There is also a specific OTN forum available for installing E-Business suite:

  • Mapping Roles/Groups between Oracle EBS R12 and OBIEE 11g

    Hi,
We are implementing OBIEE 11g with Oracle EBS R12 as source system. Also we are using Out of the box RPD for Oracle EBS R12.
But we are facing lot of challenges to map OBIEE 11g groups and EBS roles and responsibilities. We do not have prior experience with EBS as source system.
Can anyone tell how to map between obiee groups with Oracle E-Business suit R12
Is there any document link or notes regarding this.
Any information regarding this will be a great help.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
I am also looking for the solution to implement SSO of OBI 11g with EBS r12, what i understand from your post that you have configured SSO between OAM and EBS R12.
Below is the link to configure SSO between EBSR12 and OBI 11g.
    http://www.astcorporation.com/images/PDFs/White_Papers/2012/AST_White_Paper-EBS-OBIEE_11g_Integration.pdf
I want one clarification from you , once you read the above article what is your opinion do we require OAM integration if we want only EBS SSO with OBI11g ? I am bit confused in this ?
Whats the use of OAM in this integartion ?
    Can you please help me.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • EBS R12.1.3 with Apex 4.1.1 Calling a JSP

I am running Apex 4.1.1 using EBS 12.1.3. THe EBS instance is a two tier system (web/application server on a different machine to the database). A glassfish server has been installed on the same server as EBS web server(same linux owner for both) and the Apex listner is running inside glassfish.
I am wanting to call a JSP(located on the web) server from Apex, to get a list of files from a given directory(on the web server) and display the files in the browser using using apex. In other word, a user click on a button/tab... it runs a JSP that returns a list of the files in a given directory and displays them in a tabular format within Apex.
Can this be done, if so how ?
    Thanks

    Hi Pete,
I'm working on integrating EBS R12 and APEX 4.1.1, I had followed the Extending Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using Oracle Application Express white paper. In the white paper its said that Create Authentication Scheme From scratch, but there is no option to create application scheme from the scratch, but the page showing like this
When you create a new authentication scheme, you have several options. Most let you reuse implementations that already exist in your application or in other applications within your workspace. There are even some pretested schemes you can copy to get you up and running immediately.
    Create Scheme:
Based on a pre-configured scheme from the gallery
As a copy of an existing authentication scheme
You may create a new authentication scheme by making a copy of one in this application or in another application in your workspace. Then you can edit the new scheme, changing the name to what you prefer and changing any of the settings to meet your requirements.
Alternately, you may create a new authentication scheme from scratch by stepping through the wizard and specifying all of the parameters.
How can we create Authentication Scheme using the wizard but there is no option to create via wizard.
Kindly help me because i had no idea and stuck up at this point, is any document you have kindly share with me it would be grateful...
    Thanks,
    Karthik

  • Load testing of Web ADI in EBS R12

    Hi,
I am currently testing Oracle E-Business Suite R12. Has anyone load tested the Web ADI integrator for Oracle EBS R12? What tool did you use?
Did you use QTP or Oracle ATS functional testing? I was not able to do a POC using LoadRunner or OATS load test tool.
Basically Web ADI is an integration that allows data to be uploaded/downloaded between Oracle EBS R12 and local excel.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • EBS R12 XML Gateway Integration - Supplier information sync with MAXIMO

    Hello Guys.
Recently I'm working on a EBS R12 implementation project, as customer already has MAXIMO application, they would like keep it ask "supplier" information syncronization between Oracle EBS R12 and MAXIMO through Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3
For EBS R12 supplier creation/update screens done, currently I found I can get supplier information out by configuring Oracle APPS adapter within Oracle ESB(Enterprise Service Bus) scenario to catch business events but may not perfect this way.
Then we would like try XML Gateway but seems there're no "supplier" related XML Gateway fit in Oracle Apdater module browser :-(
Appreciate if any one can guide/help........
Finally being in Dec at the moment, Merry Christmas to everyone first !

  • Capture XML data payload into database table (Oracle EBS R12)

    Hi All,
We have a XML Publisher report which generates output in PDF format. We want to capture the XML data payload generated by this report and put it into a DB table once the PDF is generated.
This report is generated through Oracle EBS R12 and XML Payload is stored by oracle by default in $APPLCSF/out directory.
    Any pointers would be helpful
    br

Couple of options, this one is probably the easiest without knowing other requirements (e.g., do you have to store the output as XML, or do you just the data available so you can output in XML later?).
Capture the SQL statement that generates the output in the first place. If you have that statement, you can insert into some table using the select statement. Once you have the report data (and you can tag that particular set of data with a job ID, timestamp, whatever, in case you need to store it and distinguish it from other reports down the road), you can generate XML output using the PL/SQL built-in DBMS_XMLGEN.
Is that what you are looking for?

  • Oracle ILM assistant for Oracle EBS R12.1 application with 11.1.0.7 DB

Oracle ILM through its ILM Agent, which is a database component provides option for data archiving.
Need to know how ILM agent can be used against Oracle EBS R12 and the options available:
    a. Does ILM assistant map to industry Compliance requirements and can we add or modify based on additional Client requirements
    b. Is this configured for all components and are the business rules (default) taken care in terms of archiving related data, if not what are the options available
    c. What are the options to archive data
    i. On Same and archive database
ii. Other RDBMS (mysql, or open source database)
    d. Access to archived data
    i. Is archive data available from the existing application or only from backend database
ii. Does ILM assistant provide options to access archived data (same Oracle RDBMS or heterogeneous database)
    e. Retention options
    i. Does ILM assistant provide multi tier retention options for archived data for different range (# of years)

Any update on my query please...?

Limits the Preferred Read-Write Tablespace to only 1 where as in Oracle EBS we would require multiple tablespaces to be Preferred Read Write. Can we extend the functionality of ILM assistant to have multiple Read-Write tablespaces...?

  • OBIEE EBS R12 Operating Unit security

    Hi all,
Previously I have integrated OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1 with EBS 11.5.10 and I have created 3 initialization blocks EBS Single Sign on Integration, Get EBS Security Context, Group EBS responsibility and 2 static repository variables ORA_EBS_OLTP_DSN,ORA_EBS_OLTP_USER and finally configured the connection pools from repository side. I have set the execute on connect query to call the 'app_initialize' function from EBS.
Now I am trying to set up the integration with EBS R12 and have Operating Unit based security. For this I have created an additional initialization block to populate the OU_ORG variable. Is this additional block enough to set the Operating unit security in R12. As I am being able to login from EBS R12 into answers, but the session doesn't seem to get initialized and the data in the reports doesn't show up. I have follwoed the metalink document to set the integration for EBS 11.5.10. Is it the same for R12 or any other steps have to be done?
    Thx!
    RK

R12 is different in terms of org security.
You need to call mo_global.init('S') or similar.

    Gareth

  • Windows 7 for EBS R12

    Hi Hussein,
Our boss give us band new laptops for our coming big project so that we will look smart :).
Since I was the first to select I chose the 4gb ram , coz some have 3Gb.
We are ask to install windows 7 so we dont pay for license.
The problem is win I installed windows 7 is installed the 64-bit as default. i dont know why.
I can not install the jinitiators for firefox and ie8. I cant not also install my oracle clients.
    Are there 64bit jinitiators?
What made me surprised is that the 3Gb laptop have installed 32bit, or I dont know what happened
bacause they can install jiniitiators and they can access EBS R12 and 11i using ie8 and firefox.
They said my work around is to install vmware and install XP on top of my windows 7.
Are there any other opions better than these?
How do you select 32 bit from windows 7? I did not see any choices when I installed it.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
Are there 64bit jinitiators? I do not think so. Even if you can find 64-bit of this software, this OS is not yet certified as a client OS.
Are there any other opions better than these? Apart from installing VMWare, I believe there is no other option (except installing a certified OS directly).
How do you select 32 bit from windows 7? I did not see any choices when I installed it.Sorry, I do not get your question here.
    Regards,
    Hussein
