EBuynow: Avoid if you can

I made two mistakes. First, I ordered a GE phone from ebuynow. Second I apparently acidentally ordered and paid for 5 of these (needless to say I wasn't at my best at the time). And using paypal, a single click can make a big impact.
I've been trying to get into touch with this outfit ever since. Zero response, even though their FAQ states that due to their fast processing it's imperative to contact them ASAP for order changes or cancellation. Well...I did, it was 10 minutes after I saw the order transcript and recovered from shock over my mistake. I've a support ticket, but if virtual crickets could be chirping, they would.
I trusted it was OK to order from ebuynow because it it's a Skype partner. Mistake, so it seems. I should've researched their business ways first and then order from somewhere else. I'm out E300 by mistake (albeit my own) and I now doubt I'll actually receive my ordered stuff at all (I'll flog the surplus phones on eBay if I receive them at all, I guess since there seems to be zero support). Maybe I'll try and file a dispute with Paypal, though I doubt it'll do much good.

I received reply from Skype's customer service. Basically they bounce things back to Ebuynow.
I replied too, I accuse them from being an accesory in the scam Ebuynow seems to be running through the Skype website, taking their customers money. I also requested to forward my emails to their legal department, as it seems the support droids fail to understand the problem and take appropriate actions to protects and help their own customers.
Man, I've been a Skype paying customer for years, but I guess I'll have to reconsider.
Thank you for contacting Skype Customer Service.
We are sorry for the issues that you are having with EBuyNow. Please allow us to assist you further with this issue.
Unfortunately, Skype does not provide customer support for third party hardware devices or merchants. What we can do is to give you the means to contact EBuyNow here: http://www.ebuynow.info/en/contact/
If you have already done this, we apologize but the only available option would be to wait for their response.
Please accept our sincerest apologies on this matter, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

Is it possible to set your language preference on books so you can avoid looking at books in languages you are not interested in ?

    Hi,
I don't think so, I would be happy to have such function too.
In the French iBook store there is a section where you can find books by language, I guess in other countries there is the same section. But it's not really convenient…
    Hope this helps,

After many days of tests, I wanna share my results with community and comment them.
    CPU Introduction
I tested my cpu and pushed it at maximum speed to understand where is the limit, can I reach this limit and I've logged precisely all result in graph (See pictures 1).
Intro : I tested my E5-XEON 2687W (8 Cores Hyperthread - 16 threads) to know if programs can use the maximum of it.  I used Prime 95 to get the result.  // I know this seem to be ordinary, but you will understand soon...
The result : Yes, I can get 100% of my CPU with 1 program using 20 threads in parallel.  The CPU gives everything it can !
Comment : I put 3 IO (cpu, disk, ram) on the graph of my computer during the test...

    Disk Introduction
I tested my disk and pushed it at maximum speed to understand where is the limit and I've logged precisely all result in graph (See pictures 2).
Intro : I tested my RAID 0 556GB (LSI MegaRAID 9260-8i SATA3 6GB/s 5 disks with Fastpath Chip Installed) to know if I can reach the maximum % disk usage (0% idle Time)
The result : As you can see in picture 2, yes, I can get the max of my drive at ~ 1.2 Gb/sec read/write steady !
Comment : I put 3 IO (cpu, disk, ram) on the graph of my computer during the test to see the impact of transfering many Go of data during ~10 sec...
    (picture 2)
Now, I know my limits !  It's time to enter deeper in the subject !
    PPBM5 (H.264) Result
I rendered the sequence (H.264) using Adobe Media Encoder.
    The result :
My CPU is not used at 100%, the turn around 50%
My Disk is totally idle !
All the process usage are idle except process of (Adobe Media Encoder)
The transfert rate seem to be a wave (up and down).  Probably caused by (Encrypt time....  write.... Encrypt time.... write...)  // It's ok, ~5Mb/sec during transfert rate !
CPU Power management give 100% of clock to CPU during the encoding process (it's ok, the clock is stable during process).
RAM, more than enough !  39 Go RAM free after the test !  // Excellent
~65 thread opened by Adobe Media Encoder (Good, thread is the sign that program try to using many cores !)
GPU Load on card seem to be a wave also ! (up and down)  ~40% usage of GPU during the process of encoding.
GPU Ram get 1.2Go of RAM (But with GTX 680, no problem and Quadro 6000 with 6 GB RAM, no problem !)
Comment/Question : CPU is free (50%), disks are free (99%), GPU is free (60%), RAM is free (62%), my computer is not pushed at limit during the encoding process.  Why ????  Is there some time delay in the encoding process ?
    Other : Quadro 6000 & GTX 680 gives the same result !

PPBM5 (Disk Test) Result (RAID LSI)
I rendered the sequence (Disk Test) using Adobe Media Encoder on my RAID 0 LSI disk.
    The result :
My CPU is not used at 100%
My Disk wave and wave again, but far far from the limit !
All the process usage are idle except process of (Adobe Media Encoder)
The transfert rate wave and wave again (up and down).  Probably caused by (Buffering time....  write.... Buffering time.... write...)  // It's ok, ~375Mb/sec peak during transfert rate !  Easy !
CPU Power management give 100% of clock to CPU during the encoding process (it's ok, the clock is stable during process).
RAM, more than enough !  40.5 Go RAM free after the test !  // Excellent
~48 thread opened by Adobe Media Encoder (Good, thread is the sign that program try to using many cores !)
GPU Load on card = 0 (This kind of encoding is GPU irrelevant)
GPU Ram get 400Mb of RAM (No usage for encoding)
Comment/Question : CPU is free (65%), disks are free (60%), GPU is free (100%), RAM is free (63%), my computer is not pushed at limit during the encoding process.  Why ????  Is there some time delay in the encoding process ?
    (picture 4)
PPBM5 (Disk Test) Result (Direct in RAMDrive)
I rendered the same sequence (Disk Test) using Adobe Media Encoder directly in my RamDrive
Comment/Question : Look at the transfert rate under (picture 5).  It's exactly the same speed than with my RAID 0 LSI controller.  Impossible !  Look in the same picture the transfert rate I can reach with the ramdrive (> 3.0 Gb/sec steady) and I don't go under 30% of disk usage.  CPU is idle (70%), Disk is idle (100%), GPU is idle (100%) and RAM is free (63%).  // This kind of results let me REALLY confused.  It's smell bug and big problem with hardware and IO usage in CS6 !
    (picture 5)
    PPBM5 (MPEG-DVD) Result
I rendered the sequence (MPEG-DVD) using Adobe Media Encoder.
    The result :
My CPU is not used at 100%
My Disk is totally idle !
All the process usage are idle except process of (Adobe Media Encoder)
The transfert rate wave and wave again (up and down).  Probably caused by (Encoding time....  write.... Encoding time.... write...)  // It's ok, ~2Mb/sec during transfert rate !  Real Joke !
CPU Power management give 100% of clock to CPU during the encoding process (it's ok, the clock is stable during process).
RAM, more than enough !  40 Go RAM free after the test !  // Excellent
~80 thread opened by Adobe Media Encoder (Lot of thread, but it's ok in multi-thread apps!)
GPU Load on card = 100 (This use the maximum of my GPU)
GPU Ram get 1Gb of RAM
Comment/Question : CPU is free (70%), disks are free (98%), GPU is loaded (MAX), RAM is free (63%), my computer is pushed at limit during the encoding process for GPU only.  Now, for this kind of encoding, the speed limit is affected by the slower IO (Video Card GPU)
Other : Quadro 6000 is slower than GTX 680 for this kind of encoding (~20 s slower than GTX).
    (picture 6)
Encoding single clip FULL HD AVCHD to H.264 Result (Premiere Pro CS6)
You can look the result in the picture.
Comment/Question : CPU is free (55%), disks are free (99%), GPU is free (90%), RAM is free (65%), my computer is not pushed at limit during the encoding process.  Why ????   Adobe Premiere seem to have some bug with thread management.  My hardware is idle !  I understand AVCHD can be very difficult to decode, but where is the waste ?  My computer want, but the software not !
    (picture 7)
Render composition using 3D Raytracer in After Effects CS6
You can look the result in the picture.
Comment : GPU seems to be the bottle neck when using After Effects.  CPU is free (99%), Disks are free (98%), Memory is free (60%) and it depend of the setting and type of project.
Other : Quadro 6000 & GTX 680 gives the same result in time for rendering the composition.
    (picture 8)
    Conclusion
There is nothing you can do (I thing) with CS6 to get better performance actually.  GTX 680 is the best (Consumer grade card) and the Quadro 6000 is the best (Profressional card).  Both of card give really similar result (I will probably return my GTX 680 since I not really get any better performance).  I not used Tesla card with my Quadro, but actually, both, Premiere Pro & After Effects doesn't use multi GPU.  I tried to used both card together (GTX & Quadro), but After Effects gives priority to the slower card (In this case, the GTX 680)
Premiere Pro, I'm speechless !  Premiere Pro is not able to get max performance of my computer.  Not just 10% or 20%, but average 60%.  I'm a programmor, multi-threadling apps are difficult to manage and I can understand Adobe's programmor.  But actually, if anybody have comment about this post, tricks or any kind of solution, you can comment this post.  It's seem to be a bug...
    Thank you.

    Patrick,
I can't explain everything, but let me give you some background as I understand it.
The first issue is that CS6 has a far less efficient internal buffering or caching system than CS5/5.5. That is why the MPEG encoding in CS6 is roughly 2-3 times slower than the same test with CS5. There is some 'under-the-hood' processing going on that causes this significant performance loss.
The second issue is that AME does not handle regular memory and inter-process memory very well. I have described this here: Latest News
As to your test results, there are some other noteworthy things to mention. 3D Ray tracing in AE is not very good in using all CUDA cores. In fact it is lousy, it only uses very few cores and the threading is pretty bad and does not use the video card's capabilities effectively. Whether that is a driver issue with nVidia or an Adobe issue, I don't know, but whichever way you turn it, the end result is disappointing.
The overhead AME carries in our tests is something we are looking into and the next test will only use direct export and no longer the AME queue, to avoid some of the problems you saw. That entails other problems for us, since we lose the capability to check encoding logs, but a solution is in the works.
You see very low GPU usage during the H.264 test, since there are only very few accelerated parts in the timeline, in contrast to the MPEG2-DVD test, where there is rescaling going on and that is CUDA accelerated. The disk I/O test suffers from the problems mentioned above and is the reason that my own Disk I/O results are only 33 seconds with the current test, but when I extend the duration of that timeline to 3 hours, the direct export method gives me 22 seconds, although the amount of data to be written, 37,092 MB has increased threefold. An effective write speed of 1,686 MB/s.
There are a number of performance issues with CS6 that Adobe is aware of, but whether they can be solved and in what time, I haven't the faintest idea.

Turn off automatic downloads to stop it from automatically downloading.
You can delete from the other two.  It has no effect on the others.

Help is needed i payed a lot for my purchases !!!

You can use multiple AppleIDs to purchase new music but you are limited as to how frequently you can change authorizations for re-downloading  past purchases.  It may well be a measure to deter piracy by stopping a group of people from going around to a friend's computer and downloading purchases on the other person's computer.  It is easy to avoid by making sure you have backup copies on drives at home so you never need to redownload anything.

  • You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 71 days. Whats the deal???

  • You can bridge the Fios Quantum Gateway Router

Long story short. I could not figure out how to disable SIP on the Fios Gateway Router and some my Intercom Video Door station in use by my Control4 uses SIP. The router was causing conflicts and Control4 advised that SIP needs to be disabled on the router. Disabling SIP is a very common answer to people using IP based video conferencing or VOIP phones. That left me with 2 choices. Get the Fios Quantum Gateway to bridge and install my own router where SIP can be disabled, or get rid of Fios and use an ISP that does not require a combo "modem"/router. I didn't want to give up on Fios so easily. My installation was new and I am happy with the uptime and performance. I spent 2 days trying to get my Fios Quantum Gateway to Bridge.   I am writing this up so that someone else doesn't have to live the pain I've lived.  First up, after multple days of looking, their are limited instructions on getting the Fios Quantum Gateway router to bridge. The instructions you can find are for the Actiontec router. It's "almost" the same router but not 1:1. Most step by step guides say that the steps for the Actiontec will work for a FIos Quantum Gateway. That's not inaccurate, but isn't fully accurate either. Their are steps involved in the Acitontec instructions that do not apply to the Fios Quantum Gateway. First - this link is the baseline instructions I found that mostly work: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27666920-How-to-Make-Actiontec-MI424WR-Revision-I-Rev-I-a-Network All credit to the authors that came before me. I didn't discover these steps. I hijacked them and tested them with some revisions for a Fios Quantum Gateway router. I take not credit or responsbility for any action you take based on my post. It "works for me" and continues to work after 24 hours. My please note that I am using Coax/MoCa from the ONT to the Router and that Ethernet was not an option. I am going to repost the steps verbatim, but add some notes along the way where my experience was different in bold. I highly recommend you read the entire thing one time before starting with the step-by-step. You can replace the word Actiontech with Quantum Gateway in the below. Their are subtle differences in termonligy between the Acitontec and the Quantum. If you see a step in the guide and can not follow because your Quantum doesn't have the same display, you must find the nearest equivelement or ignore it entirelly. First get your Router and Actiontec set up like so: ONT -> Coax -> Actiontec Coax Port -> Actiontec LAN Port 1 -> My Selected Router WAN Port. Unplug the cable from the WAN Port, but keep it nearby. I was actually in LAN Port 1 on the Quantum Gateway but I don't think it will actually matter.
Now we need to obtain the WAN MAC address of each Router device.
For the Actiontec go to: Top Menu – Advanced – MAC Cloning – Set Mac of Device – Broadband (Coax). Here you should see the MAC Address, write this down on a paper or something. This is critical. You need to do this. Without the clone, I was unable to bridge. Note that I did not have to STAY cloned. I just had to clone until the lease expired even though I believe I had released the IP successfully. For your own router: You need to look this up yourself. The ASUS RT-N56U (w/ custom firmware) has a spot that just displays my WAN MAC address for me. I'm using an EdgeRouter from Unfi. Nobody can help you here except the forums for the router you are using because how you do this is different from router to router (generally speaking.)
Once you have both of these pieces of information, it is time to start.
    1. Hardware Reset Actiontec Router I wouldn't do this. I didn't. I would actually save a copy of the configuration you have on the router before going any further, in case you have to hardware reset and restore your router.
    2. Log into Router using [ admin/password ].
    3. Change admin login info and set a different password. There should be a link on the side.
    4. Top Menu – My Network – Side Menu – Network Connections – Network (Home/Office) – Settings – IP Address – Setto 192.168.x.1 where x is not used on your LAN – Apply
*NOTE*: Upon changing the default gateway IP of the Actiontec from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.x.1, you will need to [ ipconfig /release ] and [ ipconfig /renew ] from Command Prompt, so your computer can quickly reconnect to the Actiontec. I changed this to 192.168.0.5 because my DHCP starts at 50. The Fios default is 192.168.0.1 and not .1.1.
    5. Log back in to Actiontec router with new IP and new password you previously set.
    6. Top Menu – Wireless Settings – Side Menu – Basic Security Settings – Wireless Off – Apply 7. Top Menu – Firewall Settings – Side Menu – General – Minimum – Apply
    8. Top Menu – My Network – Side Menu – Network Connections – Advanced 9. Top Menu – My Network – Side Menu – Network Connections – Broadband (Coax) – Settings – Release – Apply
*NOTE*: If your IP address is not released properly you will need to wait 2 hours for your lease to expire or you’ll need to call Verizon Tech and get them to restart your system.
    10. Broadband (Coax) – Settings – IP Distribution – Disable – Apply 11. Broadband (Coax) – Settings – DNS Server – No DNS Server – Apply 12. Broadband (Coax) – Settings – IP Address – No IP Address – Apply
    13. Top Menu – My Network – Side Menu – Network Connections – Network (Home/Office) – Settings – IP Distribution – Disable – Apply 14. Network (Home/Office) – Settings – DNS Server – No DNS Server – Apply 15. Network (Home/Office) – Settings – UNcheck Box to Left of Wireless – Apply
*NOTE*: The old guide will tell you to uncheck the box to the left of “Coax” here. Unfortunately, in the Rev. I, Ethernet and Coax are stuck together as “Ethernet/Coax” and you can’t split the two. If you uncheck the box to the left of “Ethernet/Coax”, you will lose connection with the Actiontec Router and you will be forced to hard reset and start all over again.
    16. Network (Home/Office) – Settings – Check Box to Left of Broadband (Coax) – Apply 17. Network (Home/Office) – Settings – Check STP Box to Right of Broadband(Coax) – Apply The Quantum Gateway didn't have an STP box to uncheck. I ignored this step with no adverse effects. 18. Network (Home/Office) – Settings – Network – Broadband Connection – Apply
    19. Top Menu – Advanced – MAC Cloning – Set Mac of Device – Broadband (Coax) Using the information you gathered at the beginning: a. Set the WAN MAC of your selected Router to the MAC address listed here. b. Set the Address here to the WAN MAC of your selected router that will be connected to the Actiontec to avoid conflicts.
    20. Plug the cable from Actiontec LAN Port 1 to your Routers WAN Port. Your router should be getting a WAN IP from Verizon. Test to make sure your WAN is established and that you can connect onto the internet, browse pages. Run a speed test to make sure everything is peachy.
*NOTE*: If your router did not get a WAN IP, you have a problem. I would recommend trying to re-trace your steps to see if you missed anything or just start all over and hard reset. :\
    21. If everything worked out fine, connect a cable from your Router’s LAN Port 4 to the Actiontec LAN port 4. Again, I was using Port 1. But it shouldn't matter. I haven't tried other ports.
    22. Power cycle your STB if you wish. You should see your STB show up in your DHCP list and it should be getting VOD/Widgets. This wasn't neccessary for me as I don't use Verizion TV service. Your millage may very. -V

NOTE: about bridging the Quantum Gateway G1100 Information about this is in DSLReports.com - Verizon FiOS FAQ.  SEE: Verizon Online FiOS FAQ -> 3.2 Moca -> Can I get an ethernet connection in a room with only coax? There is a list of instructions for bridging routers, but the Verizon Quantum Gateway is not included there. Follow down the instructions and at step 2.5 here is added information that is not in the FAQ yet.
    Instruction 2.5...
2.5a) The Verizon Quantum Gateway G1100 is slightly different from the Actiontec MI424wr. If your primary router's broadband connection is provisioned over coax, you need to disable the remote router's coax WAN connection to prevent it from attempting to become the primary router. If your broadband connection from the ONT to your primary router is ethernet, this step may be unnecessary.
Click on the MY NETWORK icon at the top.
Select NETWORK CONNECTIONS from the menu on the left.
If you’re using the Verizon Quantum Gateway G1100 as the remote router the Network Connections panel will show Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax) instead of Broadband Connection (coax).
    Click on Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax)
The next panel displays Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax) Properties as its title. There is a Disable button at the top of the panel. There is also a Settings button at the bottom of the panel. You will come back to the Disable button.
    Click on the Settings button.
The next panel displays the same title as the prior panel: Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax) Properties
In the middle of the panel next to the heading Enable/Disable Coax Link: there is a button labeled Disable.
    Click on Disable.
Click on the Apply button at the bottom of the panel.
You will be taken to the Broadband Connection (Ethernet/Coax) Properties panel that you saw before.
At the top of this screen there is a button labeled Disable
    Click on Disable
Click on the Apply button at the bottom of the screen.

  • CSS General Tips and Tricks, Please if you can add to this, thanks

I thought of some general guidelines in CSS and XHTML, please feel free to add some more if you think i missed, thanks in advance !
    No Empty Divs
Use text-indents in hyperlinks for images and images background so that the  div does not remain empty
Even if you have a division marker that contains a backgrounds and is  embedding another inner-container (or any other reason), use a  text-indent:-9999px so that it does not appear empty.  This misuse has led to  many misinterpretations by search engines
    Validate your codes on W3C
Even if there is a warning, there’s always this possibility to wipe it out  and write the right piece of code for it.
    No Ids! Classes & inheritance
We’re in 2010 now ladies, things have changed and now it’s the new era.  Like  for me, it was quite a bite that day I got those slaps (uhh… let’s call that  e-slaps for the sake of this article) from my boss, who clearly mentioned the  important generic methodologies of using inheritance techniques in everything we  do… And that included CSS my oh my..
Besides, even if you are using ids, make sure that they are unique and that  they are not being duplicated elsewhere on your page.  That’s the good thing  with the W3C validator: it doesn’t miss those
    Comment your lines of codes
There are many advantages for this, the major one I’m considering is to help  situate the programmer in line who will be taking your codes elsewhere.  It’s a  form of diplomacy, hence good practice.
No Styling in your html pages: out!
It’s better to transfer all the related style, with comments alongside on  your generic style sheet
Insert Images on web pages only if necessary
Whenever there is an opportunity not to insert an image as an <img  src>, do it; the best practice is to load it as a background image and if  possible use write any text that’s ever found on the image instead of importing  the image from photoshop or any app you’re using down to tyou
Anti-aliasing of gif images for better image  quality
I have this luck of having a chief who knows quite a sleek stuffs in  photoshop and image rendering techniques and that includes gif images.
Integrators love gifs: light, minimal use of colors.. when they’res no  curves in any way, but what about transparency ?
There are possibilities to avoid the use of pngs, which are usually heavier  and take quite some time to load.  Sometimes when gifs are being exported, codes  or designers forget the background image on which the gif will be laid onto.   That is why anti-aliasing techniques are very important for keeping the design  intact.
use overflow: hidden instead of clear:both
More information can be found on this link:
    http://www.quirksmode.org/css/clearing.html
To brief a bit, using clear is like ol’ school teaching stuff which was the  fast-driven solution while the overflow:hidden seems to satisfy the major  browsers like MSIE, FFx , Chrome, etc…
Minimise the use of style sheets
Avoid using different style sheets for different browsers. Use one generic  style sheet,  unless you have different themes for different pages, but that  depends.   All this creates confusion and that might also mean you are not be  using the right html codes and the right css styles
To minimise the use of multiple style sheets, use:

Validate your css codes on  http://jigsaw.w3.org
Jigsaw is the CSS passport for integrators.  I never knew it, but now O I  know !
It’s the haven.  The hide in our line of business.  It’s what keeps our ego  hmmm strong and heavily proud, the reason why integrators are so needed in the  web business.
    * Squeak *
Always have this final habit to validate your css in the following  link
http://jigsaw.w3.org/ to make sure that you are in line with your css  standards.  Even if there are warnings, that would mean you are wrongly  interpreting your css codes or that some styles have been duplicated here and  there.
    Conclusion
That’s all for now folks.  I think , whenever I’ll have some more time, I’d  probably create a CSS tips and tricks Part 2, cos amending what’s already there  would sound so cheap and it’s not like facebook, uhh Sheran changed that  article, etc..
It’s good to have some feedbacks and all, well, that’s probably interesting  to know what’s out in the CSS jungle, so jot in some lines, criticise, be blunt  and bold and don’t hesitate to contact me (except ma okes at work, you know who  you are, ladies) for any info ya need
    À La Prochaine !

use CSS, it will save you time no matter how much DW does things automatically for you
if you don't know how it's done, ask or view source. css is client side code and can be viewed.
use divs instead of tables for layouts
firefox has a great plugin called HTML Validator (http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/). you don't have to keep going to the w3c website to validate. when viewing your page within firefox it will validate it and tell you any errors and warnings. saves me a lot of time. it's also great if you're development environment is behind a firewall - you won't have to view source, copy & paste onto w3c validator. they don't have support for html5 yet
this could be more of style and preference but i use multiple files of css. usually 2 or 3. one is for the layout (layout.css), one is for forms (form.css) and one for display data. anything more can become more work when it's time to make any changes, especially with multiple people working on the same project
create a standard workflow. naming conventions for file names, class names, etc.
i'm not sure you can get away from those IE specific css. i've tried a campaign at work to not support IE so that we become fully compliant with the web but unfortunately, IE still has a lot of users. what we've done is support IE but the latest versions only. M$ is at least getting better with being compatible.
view the page in firefox and IE. if they work, then you should be fine with the other browsers. as a developer, it's my responsibility to ensure that any user whether mac or pc can view the website - as long as they are running the "latest" version of the browser. latest as in what the software developer still supports.
well that's my tips, tricks and a little pet peeve here and there

  • # of parameters you can pass using AJAX

I have a weird problem with an AJAX form combined with a CFC.  Just to rule out any possibilities, is there a limit on the number of input fields you can pass to a CFC using AJAX?  I only ask because it appears when the entire form is filled out the page throws an error that the CFC can't be found.
Also, I'm noticing that 2 of the parameters are out of order (in red). Would that make a difference?  I'm also not sure why they are out of order when getting passed because they are not that way on the form.  Am I missing something here?

The fix is to set "setHTTPMethod("POST");" for the AJAX proxy.  By default, the proxy function "setHTTPMethod("method");"  is set to "GET" and 47 input fields with corresponding data is over the limit.  The proxy function, "setHTTPMethod("method");", must be set to "POST" to avoid this error.

  • Why ipad do not implement what a chinese company Ereneben have on their tablet (T7) thin pen that you can write in any application that tablet have

I had tried the Chinese tablet Ereneben T7, and the features that gives you with the use of a thin pen is like write in a paper, it is really impresive. you can write in emails, office documents, pdf documents, photos, in any aplication that has.
Why ipad do not implement this technology?

There are a number of third-party apps that offer handwriting support. If you are asking why Apple has not implemented handwriting as a standard feature of iOS, no one here will know, though clearly avoiding the need for a stylus is a design decision Apple made a long time ago. You can suggest handwriting support as a standard feature to them here, if you wish:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html
but I doubt that Apple will add it anytime in the near future, so if that is an essential feature for you, another tablet may suit you better.
    Regards.

  • How to put the Motorola NVG589 in 'bridge mode' (or as close as you can).

OverviewMost people don't need advanced features that personally owned routers offer and will be just fine using the NVG589 and turning off their personally owned router.  But if you're like me (and I know I am!) then you are probably reading this thread because you have ip cameras, personal clouds, photo servers, guest wifi, VPN's, xbox, QOS settings, et al.  I have an ASUS RT-N66U , a VIP2250, and a wireless reciever with a WAP; but your settings should be similar.  The NVG589 does not have a simple 'Bridge mode' setting so you will need to get into weeds to get this working.  I hope you're ready. First StepsMake sure you have a laptop or a computer that you can connect directly into the NVG589.Unplug all ethernet cables from the NVG589 except for the one going into the aforementioned laptop.Write down the MAC address of your personal router (the WAN MAC address if you see different ones for LAN and WAN) Settings on the NVG589Login to your NVG589 by going to 192.168.1.254Go to 'Home Network' then 'Subnets & DHCP'.  Your password is on the side of the modem. If your 'Device IPv4 Address' is the same subnet as your local router, I suggest changing it.  I changed mine to 192.169.2.254 but you can stick with whatever you like / need.  My subnet Mask remains at 255.255.255.0Change 'DHCPv4 Start Address' to 192.169.2.1 (or whatever your above Device IPv4 address is but with a 1 at the end instead of .254)Change 'DHCPv4 End Address' to 192.169.2.5, Just a few more than the Start Address.  We need these for any WAP extenders for wifi TV's.  It's important that you only have the laptop plugged into the ethernet at this point.Click 'SAVE' at the bottom.Go to 'Home Network'  then 'Wireless' and turn wireless off.  You want to use the wifi on your own router right?Go to 'Firewall' then ' 'Packet Filter'.  Disable Packet Filters.  Again, we want our router to do the work.Make sure you don't have any of your own settings turned on in 'NAT/Gaming' (don't worry if you see 1 in there already that you can't delete).Go to 'Firewall' then 'IP Passthrough'.  For 'Default Server Internal Address', select or type in 192.169.2.1.For 'Allocation Mode' select 'Passthrough' (I had to do it in this reverse order to be able to type for some reason)For 'Passthrough Mode', select 'DHCPS-Fixed'Type in the MAC address for your router under 'Manual Entry', lowercase is fine.Click SAVE.  It will tell you that it needs to reboot.  Hang on for a minute.Go to 'Firewall Advanced' at the top and turn everything OFF.Near the top of your screen, you should see an option telling you to reboot the router. Go ahead and do this now. It takes about 2 minutes.Personal Router Settings.
Unplug your laptop and plug in your personal router while the NVG589 reboots.  Plug your laptop into your personal router and login to it.  For me, it was 192.168.1.1 (hence why I changed things above)For the ASUS RT-N66U, I had to go to my WAN settings, then 'Internet Connection'.Change 'WAN Connection Type' to 'Automatic IP'.  This will give your personal router the external IP of the NVG589 and is the key to making this whole thing work. Some folks will have to manually enter in an IP and this can be found under the 'Broadband - Status' section of the NVG589 settings.  If you don't have 'automatic IP' then I feel bad for you since you will have to manually change this every time your IP changes.'Enable WAN', 'Enable NAT' and 'Enable UPnP' is all set to YES for me.  I recomend Setting your own DNS server.  I use Google's but you use whatever you like.  Google's is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4'Account Setting - Authentication' is 'None'.There are no Special requirements from ISP at the bottom.Hit APPLY at the bottom and your router will reboot.I also changed settings in my IPTV under LAN:Profile was None.Choose IPTV STB port, I set to LAN3 & LAN4.  I plugged my U-Verse WAP for the wireless reciver into the NVG589 and I plugged the ethernet cable going to the VIP2250 into LAN3 on my personal router.  I'm really not sure if this was necessary but I'm having 0 issues with this setup.  I initially tried putting the WAP on my personal router but had issues so I stuck it back on the NVG589 and it's fine.  I could probably just plug the VIP2250 into the NVG589 as well but I'm just enjoying the small victory of using my personal router for now.  Hit apply at the bottom, another possible reboot. At this point, I checked the internet and everything was working great through the router.  I restarted by 2 TV boxes (the VIP and the wifi ones).  Everything is peachy. Your mileage may vary.  Good luck.    EDIT to update WAP configuration.

a couple of notes I would like to make on this. for the most part it's correct. Bullet 1.) 192.169.2.254- I would not change it outside the 192.168.x.x class network specification. Doing this can cause some connectivity , DNS, and routing problems going outside the class.  Example (and yes I did this once!)-- I changed my base IP address to 135.153.1.1 as well as changed everything else. Everything worked ok till I do a traceroute or a path ping. This problem was really pervasive when on my iphone, speed tests would be way, way off, and wireless would sometimes have problems connecting. many times the first hop which should be my router didn't resolve properly and I also created other DNS problems (page can't be displayed, etc...) For this example I would stay within the confines of the wikipedia entry for private network.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network it states24-bit block10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 16,777,216
    single class A network
    10.0.0.0/8 (255.0.0.0)
    24 bits
    8 bits
    20-bit block
    172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 1,048,576
    16 contiguous class B networks 172.16.0.0/12 (255.240.0.0)
20 bits 12 bitsof course the common block everyone with a router uses.
    16-bit block
    192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255
    65,536
    256 contiguous class C networks 192.168.0.0/16 (255.255.0.0)
    16 bits 16 bits
In this addendum I would say use
192.168.2.254 or 192.168.168.10.254172.16.0.1 or 172.17.0.110.20.1.1 or 10.30.1.1 Either or would be fine. Avoid the headache I created and stay within a private network setting. most DNS boxes already know what the private networks are. If you stay within the confines of them you are not adding frustration to your cause.    bullet 3 to bullet 5.) a tweak of subnets and IP's Now you can leave this at 255.255.255.0 /24 (default) which would give you 254 Ip addresses on that NVG589 to use. however if you are not going to use them just eliminate them. Much less work on broadcasting that the router will have to do. Since you are passing the IP right to your router anyway save the work for the router behind.for instance if you want a shorter range255.255.255.240 would allow 14 IP addresses total this can also known as 255.255.255.240 /28255.255.255.224 /27 This would allow 30 IP addresses total
what you essentially do is cut down on how many hosts you actually have. Essentually you are making the NVG (as well as any router made by any manufacturer) smarter buy giving it a short phone book to work with. An example below for the NVG589device IPv4 address: 172.21.0.1
    DHCPv4 start IP address: 172.21.0.7
    DHCPv4 end IP address: 172.21.0.14
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.240 DHCP addresses available: 8Static IP's available: 5
Another example I would usedevice IPv4 address: 10.20.1.1
    DHCPv4 start IP address: 10.20.1.5
    DHCPv4 end IP address: 10.20.1.30
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.224 DHCP addresses avaialble: 25static IP addresses available: 4
    Another example using 192.168.x.xDevice IPv4 address: 192.168.15.1
    DHCPv4 start IP address: 192.168.15.5
    DHCPv4 end IP address: 192.168.15.30
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.224 DHCP addresses avaialble: 25static IP addresses available: 4 Note: I do not count the base IP address as a useable IP (another headache I learned to avoid the hard way).    Continue on:  From the bullet point of Go to 'Home Network' then 'Wireless' and turn wireless off. You want to use the wifi on your own router right?I would continue on.  Final note:  I don't get here all the time to check and see who replied so if there is any questions please drop me a line as I don't come here very often.  Thanksdavid

  • I updated my computer today to 10.1.1 Yosemite.  In doing so, it said my kapersky's virus scanner is damaged and needs to be deleted.  I did so.  I'm wondering if you can recommend another virus scanner?

I updated my computer today to Yosemite 10.1.  It told me that my Kaspersky virus scanner was damaged and that I should delete it.  I did so.  I'm wondering what virus scanner I should purchase?

First, you should be sure you have fully uninstalled the software. If you have no uninstaller nor directions for uninstalling, then see:
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper
        2. AppDelete
        3. Automaton
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller
      10. Spring Cleaning

    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide, AdwareMedic, or Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.

If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.)
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect everything targeting the Mac.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

    Hi guys,
If you check the official documentation for Smart forms in the Internet you will read that the initial pharagraphs of the text tell you "Tables - You can include static and dynamic tables into a Smart Form. Dynamic tables enable you to display tables whose size is determined only at the moment of their output by the number of the table items to be displayed". The link is the following: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/a5/de6838abce021ae10000009b38f842/frameset.htm
I was wondering if this means that I can use field symbols with dynamical number of columns to print a smart form. Because it would be great since the customer wanted a dynamical report depending on the week day it was (If Monday, there was only 12 columns, but if Friday, it will be 52 columns (1 column more for every day elapsed in the current week)). I had to create 5 different forms, but I think using field symbols I had spent less effort. Do you know if it is really possible? If not, then what does mean "You can include static and dynamic tables into a Smart Form"?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi ,
The concept of static and dynamic tables in smartforms, means you can use template- ( static table as no of rows and columns is fixed). Also you can use table- dynamic as the no of rows will depend on your line items.
Hope this will help you to close this thread.
Also, try to find this answer in posted forums. Creating a new forum everytime just increases the network traffic. So please try to avoid it.
