ECATT - error in session start

Hello!
I have a problem with an eCATT procedure which is a part of a Best Practice for All-in-one installation. When I try to run the eCATT, I get the message
"Error in session start. Possible causes: 1. Scripting deactivated. Contact administrator. 2. User not logged on within 00:00:40 seconds. 3. Too many sessions open."
The message appears when the eCATT tries to run the script "/SMB99/SE09_J002_J02 - Create Customizing Request". I don't know is this general scripting error, or specific for this script.
I have SAP_BASIS release 620, support package level SAPKB62039. The user has SAP_ALL authorisations. I have the parameter "sapgui/user_scripting = TRUE", "Enable scripting" in "Customizing of local layout", and "eCATT and CATT allowed" set. I have only one session open.
I don't know what else could cause this problem. Could you, please, give me some suggestions on how to resolve this?

while to tranfer the data from the through if any errors occurs until the errors are the complete the data is not tranfer to the sap system.
the system compalsory shows the errors .that errors are stored into the error logs (Trasaction is SM35).
so the sesion method should not return any value.
in call trasaction method data is directly pass to the sap system.
so its compalsory return the value.
because of the call trasaction is the funtion.
a funtion should return the value madatory.

    To where are you persisting your sessions? If you don't care about session persistance, try making this change in your server.xml.

    How to fight against it? before such it wasn't noticed 

    hi vladimir,
    I checked the source code when this error is set. this is seen when a session stage packet is received that has no valid idb (aka subscriber interface) for the session ID that was found in the packet together with the vlan tags.
    Now this is a PADI, so it is not a session packet to start with.
    Next I see that the function that sets this error is only called for on data packets when the opcode is 0x00 in your case the opcode is 0x09 which is a PADI.
    what I am thinking that is happening here is that the punt software has provided incorrect pointers to the start of the packet due to a sw bug.
    I would like to request if you can evaluate xr513 for this as I see some fixes in 512/513 relating to the punt handling sw that might be of benefit here.

              We changed the configuration to include two proxy servers between the
              Alteon switch and web cluster, but we ended up with a different problem.

              The first problem seems to be very poor performance. The overall throughtput
              is vveeeerrryyy slow, comparing
              to the configuration where there is no proxy sitting in front of the
              cluster. Furthermore, at some stage the proxy
              starts to print out error messages: java.lang.InvalidStateException: broken
              pipe [...] . After those exceptions no
              client get any response anymore.
              Could someone give some hints what are the most essential items in the
              weblogic.properties -file for the
              proxy server? Also, if someone has some experience from setting up a
              configuration similar to ours: one hardware
              load-balancer in front of two proxies, and eventually two web servers
              running in a web cluster.

    As per as i know this is your custom patch but not delivered by sap.Is the development done fine because it is taking as reference as some resource mentioned in the log and till that is active this deployment will not go fine.
    Have you some other deployment that would be activating that resource and then this patch should be done.

    SAP users use CATT frequently to upload master data or to make changes to master data records. SAP Consultants and Abapers tend to use it for creating test data. The transactions run without user interaction. You can check system messages and test database changes. All tests are logged. The CATT records your keystrokes while performing the actual transaction. You then identify the fields that you wish to change in that view. Then export this data to a spreadsheet to populate with the data required. This is uploaded and executed saving you keying in the data manually.
    To perform CATT, it has to be enabled in your production environment (your systems administrator should be able to do this - SCC4). You will also need access to your development system to create the CATT script.
    The process of uploading data with a CATT:
    Activate CATT in your client
    In transaction code SCC4 - click the change button
    Double click on the client number
    In the Restriction section, tick Allows CATT processes to be started.
    Upload data using CATT
    1. Create Import variant for the fields you need
    Transaction SCAT
    Goto Parameters
    Create Import Variant
    Goto Variant -> Edit
    Goto Variant -> Fast entry or F9
    Duplicate 01
    2. To change the MRP Group for a list of Material
    Assuming that I want to change the MRP Group for a list of Material.
    My text files should look something like this:
    [Variant ID] [Variant Text] &ZDISGR &ZMATNR
    --> Parameter texts MRP group Material

    Changes to the default values displayed above not effective

    3. Configure the recorded entry fields to read from the imported text file data
    In the CATT : Maintain functions test case Screen
    Double click on the Object Name
    Double click on the screen number with your desired fields
    Park the cursor on the fields
    Click Edit -> Details
    Fill in the Parameters Name and Field Contents
    Finish Save it.
    Assign your text file data.
    In the CATT : Execute test case Screen
    Click External from file and choose your text file
    CATT will now read from your text file and update whatever data you have specified.

  • Error message when starting MaxDB instance

    I am getting the following Error message when starting the MaxDB instance after a series of failed attempts at starting the DB Manager Backup for our PI 7.1 server.
    "-24994,ERR_RTE: Runtime environment error
    1,Cannot create ipc db directories for SID (OS error code 11000)"
    Max DB version : 7.7.02
    Does anyone have any specific pointers on where the issue could be.

    I'm a complete newbye searching the forums in order to decrypt what is inconsistent to me (I'm acting as a substitute for a real dba): a sapdb refusing any more connection due to an 'user space exhausted' issue.
    I do not even know if/where some admin tool is/isn't installed - eventually, what to look for - onto the running demianapachetomcat framework. Actually, all I have been provided was: 1. call 'Henplus' (done); 2. connect this way (jdbc:sapdb://localhost/database&options) and 3. select, upgrade, delete what needed. Problem arises on point (2): connection resufed 'user space exhausted'.
    My question is: this issue seems so similar to mine, how can one eventually check/modify this '/sapdb directory space'?

Are documents and images that I have deleted from here also deleted from the folders on my desktop?

    You should never, EVER let a conputer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
    With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
    If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
    Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
    Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
    If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
    If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
    If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
    Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
    Delete any other mail in your Junk folders. Also, look through your Sent Mail to see if there is anything that can be deleted.
    Other things you can do to gain space.
    Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
    This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
    STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
    Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
    Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
    Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
    Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
    When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
    Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
    move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
    If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

    I recently updated my iTunes to the most recent version and I am receiving an error message when starting up iTunes: iTunes was unable to load data class information from sync services. Reconnect or try again later. (Does anyone know what this means and if it is going to cause me issues?)

    Error message on start up "Lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" I uninstalled and downloaded it again and still get the same error.  At this rate I won't have any chance to use the 30 day trial period as it simply isn't working.  I have see suggestions elsewhere to delete a particular file, but I don't have it.  Any ideas?

    You need to trash the preview cache. It’s in the main catalog folder.
    Delete the folder with the ending Previews.lrdata
    The default location for the Lightroom folder is normally Pictures/My Pictures if you did a standard installation.
    N.B. do not touch files ending .lrcat

    After creating the another Source system (Quality Client 300), initially I abele to load the info provider from both the Source system – , but now I am unable to load the Info provider from the (Development Client 220),
    Source system Creation:
    For both 220 and 300, back ground user in source system is same with system type with same authorization (sap_all, sap_new, S_BI-WX_RFC) And user for source system to bw connection is dialog type (S_BI-WX_RFC, S_BI-WHM_RFC, SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW)

    Hi Experts,
    we have an error when we start JSPM with message "cannot initialize application data. Error while detecting start profile for instance with ID _c." . Until now nothing has been updated yet. The system can be started up and shut down without any problem. The profiles are found in /usr/sap/PMA/SYS/profile
    Our BI system is currently Netweaver 7.0 with SPS14. We plan to update it to SPS20. But when we start JSPM, we have abover error.

    Please repeat the issue and catch the log files once again.

  • Failed to run task sequence. Error occurred while starting the task sequence (0x8007000E)

    Patch Tuesday yesterday (10th June2014). As always we deploy new patches first to a test collection where Windows 7 updates automatically apply.
    Upon trying to rebuild any of the machines in this test collection, we were presented with the following error message:
    Failed to run task sequence.  Error occurred while starting the task sequence (0x8007000E)
    After searching about this, I found this page from Niall Brady, which explained the problem:

    So I removed some of the machines from the test Windows update collection, and as per the advice in the above link, the error was gone and those machines could be built successfully.
    So the problem is there were too many many policies downloaded (apps, packages and most of all updates) for the task sequence ram to store, hence the error.
    Now...
    ...I have a question.
    The next logical step to my mind is to patch our OS image with all missing patches, so these do not have to be downloaded at build time. Niall mentions this as one of the resolutions to this issue.
    However there seems to be some confusion over whether this would actually make a difference.

    I will be disappointed if SCCM 2012 SP1 CU2 isn't clever enough to only download policies at build time for the apps, packages and updates it detects as needed.
    I'd be grateful for some clarity on this.

    1) We currently have 15 or 16 software update groups for Office updates, dating back a month or two. The latest software update group contains all the patches in the previous software update groups plus the patches released on 10th June. Do you recommend
    deleting all but the latest software update group?
    2) I'm almost reluctant to ask this, but based on what you have advised, is it the case that when the task sequence executes, it will download policies for each update in each software update group regardless of whether it has already downloaded a policy
    for an update in a previous software update group? So in effect it's downloading policies (for updates) it has already downloaded?
    3) I'm not clear on why there would be no policy for an image; in Niall Brady's informative page on the 8007000E error, he writes the following:
    "The reason it has run of space could be due to four possibilites: too many applications, too many Windows updates, too many Task Sequence steps, too many referenced packages'.
    Can you shed some light on why there isn't a policy for an image?
