Ecatt-log export rfc

Hi,
I have some problems with my logfile-export and hope, that you can help me.
I`m using a java-application to execute some transactions in ecatt. so, now i have the log-files. My problem is, with which function can i export the log file to my java application?
I just have found some functions, but they do not work, or I do not know how.
for example, i used the function "ecatt_store_log", where i can give the para "log-ig" (example: 0000000002) and a xml-file. but i do not know where the xml-file is? i think it is now a new ghost in my system.
so, i hope you can understand my problem (my english is realy bad). sorry.
thanks a lot for your help
Hans

Hi,
yes you are right, but i think i have an idea.
First, i will run one "ecatt_execute", where i get some params, amongst others the log_id.
So now, i can run the ecatt_execute again with my log_id as param.
- Start GUI with secatt
- menu goto - logs
- input log_id (param)
- execute
- expand all nodes
- log display - print preview
- system - list - save - local file
- html format
- give name
- confirm save
//java will do the rest with this file
now my problem is to confirm the save button.
mhh, we'll see what i can do here.
thanks a lot for your help

  • Obtain eCATT Logs and convert to 4.6C compatible format

    Dear all,
I want to obtain an eCATT-Log on a 6.4+ System and convert it into a format that can be returned via RFC to a 4.6 system. Possibilities would be: HTML, Text, ...
This is wanted, because I want to collect eCATT Logs from a 6.4 System and display them on a 4.6C System (4.6C does not support eCATT natively).
For the conversion thus, of course 6.4+ Elements can be used.
    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Download the eCATT log in a excel sheet

    Hi All,
Is it possible that I download the eCATT log in a excel sheet.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rupali Ray

    Hi Rupali,
Yes. We can do that. From your log display go to the menu LogDisplay--> Print Preview --> In next page
Menu System--> List --> Save as --> Local File
In this way you can do that.
    Thanks,

  • ECATT Log

I facing the problem , as  have to display the log of the Ecatt in a ALV Grid Format . I mean the result needs to be more customised.
I know that the  ( ECATT_DEF ) table contains the information about the log but the details about the log it does not have like the Export parameters and the Messages issued in the Process etc.
I want to display those in a ALV grid format . The SAP Uses the Functional module ( ECATT_LOG_DISPLAY ) to display the log. It takes the Activity number and Display the same in LOG in the tree view. Please help me in locating the tables where the information is stored so that I access the same and complete the task ,If there is some other was please do tell . All the suggestions are welcome.

    Hi Karthik
While you Run the eCATT use SQL Trace to capture all the tables that are modified in background. By using this SQL trace Report you can locate the tables.
    A Request from me:
Did you do a TCD Record using a eCATT, if yes can you answer some of my Questions on how to run Scripts.
    Thanks

  • Kona RGB 10bit LOG export setting?

In Final Touch users were given the option to import AND export using the RGB log format from Kona - vital for DI work... now Color seems only to support Kona RGB log input but not out put....
This very annoyingly destroys the Kona 2K workflow by not allowing a QT encapsulated approach to the DI workflow.. ie. QT 2K conform and grade and then final output by sending back to FCP (something you can't do with DPX files).
Does anyone have any clues to a work around? I have a few ideas but I'm wondering if any one else has come up against this as a problem...
    Thanks
    Intel 3.0   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   Xt1900 Kona 3

Did you ever come up with an answer to this?
I was reading up on the Export Codecs and there's a note that Color also supports AJA Kona 10-bit RGB for export but the drivers aren't included in Color.
Perhaps it's as simple as reinstalling the AJA drivers?
Also, Page 88 of the manual details alternative Cineon and DPX workflows.

  • Incorrect timestamp on logs exported to Excel

Exporting logged data to Excel loses the original timestamp.  The time in the Excel file is the system time at which the Excel file was created.  The entry in the spreadsheet for time X0 is just 0.  The original log file (within SignalExpress) has the correct starting time for the data but that time doesn't seem to get passed to Excel.  I have the timestam option set to 'Absolute'
    Thanks,
    Dave Detty

    Hi Dave,
I've been able to track down the issue, and I filed a bug report to have it fixed.
It also looks like the date and time should be that of the timestamp of the first signal, and the X0 is designed to be the offset of each signal in the file from the Date and Time; which is really only useful when there are multiple signals in 1 file.
I wasn't able to find a workaround for this. I'm very sorry...

  • DS Certification logs - exporting programatically

    DS Version: 12.2.1.0
Currently, we generate the Certification logs manually for USPS using the web console (Management -> Certification log).
Is there any way this task can be automated?
i.e. Every 1st of month, we can run some script and export all the reports which can then be mailed/stored etc.
    Thanks,
    Gaurav

    Gaurav,
Unfortunately, only the log data is stored in the repository.  The actual reports are not generated until you export, so there is no way to grab them.  Locating the data in the repository and generaling the logs yourself is not recommended, as it could compromise the integrity of the data.
Perhaps you can find a web macro tool that can record the steps needed to export the logs.

  • R/3 RFC Call Log

    Hi All,
Do you know if there is a monitor that logs incoming RFC calls to a system?
We have an XI scenario where an asynchronous RFC call takes place from XI to R/3. But it's not working. So we're trying to see of XI is actually calling the RFC.
    Let me know!
    Thanks,

    Hi !
If there is a comunication problem you may find some protocols in the sending system.
SAP can only trace the activity if the remote login was succesfull.
If there is any problem with the remote login the SM20 may be helpful. All unscuccesfull login activity is loged there....

  • Homogeneous System Copy - Export Import of RFC's, ALE, Content Repositories

    Good Morning,
I have a landscape with a Development and Production Systems with SAP R3 Enterprise 4.70 Ext 110, MaxDB 7.5, HP-UX 11.23. A Homogeneous System Copy is going to be done from Production to Development.
I have a idea to be able to recover the RFC's, ALE and Content Repositories Information after the Copy, which is to create a transport order with the structures which contain data for the RFC's definition, the ALE configurations and definitions and the Content Repositories configurations and definitions in Development and after the copy, transport the orders back to Development. The problem is that i don't know which structures should i use, and if my idea is viable?
For example, if i go to transaction oac0 and look at the content repositories and if i look at the Technical Information, i can see that the fileds with data are from Structure SCMS_SCREP, but my question is, inserting thsi structure in a transport order to import after the copy willbe enough? Aren't there more structures i need to insert in a transport order? And for RFCs and ALE?
Can anyone help me on this matter please?
    Kind Regards,
    Pedro Gaspar

    Hi,
If the target system is being refreshed then first secure any information that you may require.
    1) Backup user master and authorization data from each client where this data needs to be retained.
Use transaction SCC8 to export this data.  Select profile SAP_USER and specify target system = TARGET_SID.
    2) Backup RFC tables to restore destinations afterwards.
the only below tables required to take backup.
Call SE01 and create a new request of type = ""Transport of Copies"" with description = ""Export RFC destination tables prior to system refresh"".Make sure to specify a Target for the request or no data file will be created.
    RFCATTRIB
    RFCCHECK
    RFCDES
    RFCDESSECU
    RFCDOC
    3) ALE / Partner profiles.
Call WE20 and select each partner profile.
Follow menu path ""Partners --> Check"" and obtain a list of tables used.
The only tables listed were the ones listed below.
These tables are client-dependant therefore you will have to logon to each client and call SE01 and create a new request of type = ""Transport of Copies"
      EDPP1
      EDP13
      EDP21
Also document the WE21 --> Ports --> Transactional RFC" section.
Run transaction BD64 and document each configured distribution model.  This information is client-dependent so make sure to record values for each required client. and also record RFC destinations for synchronous method calls in BD97.
I hope it will help you.

  • ECATT and RFC

    Hi All,
I'm very interested in the creation and execution of ECATT scripts from outside of SAP by the use of RFCs or similar means.  I have been scouting the repository and the SDN forums and have come across the RFM ECATT_EXECUTE which may a way of executing a stored ECATT script.  Is there any way to create/edit these scripts via some other function module?  The SETRM function group seems to hold a lot of RFCs that look promising but I was hoping someone could confirm whether I'm on the right track or not.  Any other information or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tim.

    Hello Timothy
I have been using eCATT for quite some time yet I have not yet tried to start them externally. However, looking at the interface of function module <b>ECATT_EXECUTE</b> I would confirm that this is indeed the function module to start eCATT scripts via RFC.
The function modules of function group <b>SETRM</b> may lead you into a wrong direction because I believe that these function modules are only used if you record or execute an eCATT script on a remote system using the logical systems of a system container.
While I do see the reasons for executing eCATT scripts from outside (for example integration with testing tools like those from Mercury/HP) I doubt whether it makes sense to create eCATT scripts from outside as well.

  • WAAS exporting tfo logs via sftp

    Hello
    Running WAAS 4.0.19.
I've stuck an issue where the CLI command on an edge WAE:
    transaction-logs export sftp-server 10.1.1.1 tst1wae01 password logs/raw
...is accepted but when you then try and use the Transaction Logs page of that WAE in the Central Manager's GUI and make a different change (say the interval), the GUI throws up an error:
"Directory1 must start with forward slash"
If I put a forward slash in at the GUI and save it, the export will fail.
The export works when I force the WAE to use the line specified as per the CLI. If I do this the GUI shows the path as "logs/raw" which is what I want.
Anyway, the work around works but it is annoying because I effectively cannot use the GUI page for transaction log changes.
    Has anyone else seen this?
    Cheers
    Cameron

    Hi Cameron,
Why does the export fail with a leading / in the path? Is that not a valid path on the target server?
Can you perform the following debug and send the syslog.txt file:
    From config mode:
    logg disk prior debug
    From enable mode:
    transaction-log force export
    Thanks,
    Zach

  • Export partner profiles and SM59 Entries before system refresh

    Hello All,
How to Export partner profiles and SM59 Entries before system refresh in Netweaver
    thanks
    Shyam

In  SDN search  with name RFC export ..you will get so many answers ..
Once again please find the below prcoess for RFC export/import during system refresh.
    RFC Export --
go to trans dir.. and then create .ctl file as below
    #cd /usr/sap/trans/bin
    #vi export_rfc_<sid>_<date>.ctl
#Please create the data file as u201Cexport_<SID>_rfc_<Date>.datu201D
    Export
    Client=<XXX>
    file '/usr/sap/trans/data/export_<SID>_rfc_<Date>.datu2019

    delete from ZTCA_USER_LANG
    select * from ZTCA_USER_LANG
    delete from rfcsysacl
    select * from rfcsysacl
    delete from rzllitab
    select * from rzllitab
#After that excute export command as below.
    R3trans u2013w <export_rfc_<targetSID>_date.log> export_rfc_<targetSID>_date.ctl>
    (Format is: R3trans u2013w <logfile> <controlfile>)
    Export is finished....
    Import
    Example:
    #cd /usr/sap/trans/bin
    #vi import_rfc_pta_11042004.ctl
#Please enter the exported RFC data file in the import control as follows:
    import
    file '/usr/sap/trans/data/export_pta_rfc_11042004.dat'
(Enter the file name, which is created during the export process)

  • ECATT integration with Mercury QuickTest for SAP

For the past few months I have been evaluating Quick Test Professional from Mercury and eCATT (extended Computer Aided Testing Tool) from SAP as testing tools for SAP. Mercury has a strong partnership with SAP and the two companies have offered ways to integrate their two products. Has anyone ever used eCATT in conjunction with QTP? What are your thoughts on this partnership? Is it worth $10,000 to pick up Mercury's QTP when SAP's eCATT is Free with SAP? I think the functionality is comparable, although QTP is easier to use and can interact with 3rd party applications. If anyone has used both QTP and eCATT, do you think these two tools are an either/or option or do they compliment each other?

    Ben,
Good to hear you liked the article. Look out for another contribution in SPJ in the near future
I have attempted to answer your questions - all prefixed with <b>==> SAP (JM)</b> in your original text:
This document describes the functionality, abilities and benefits that would be lost in an SAP automated testing solution that excludes Mercury’s QuickTest. Assuming that SAP’s eCATT is the only tool used for SAP testing there will be the following limitations:
    Script Creation
SAP eCATT cannot record certain types of report screens in TCD(Record) mode. i.e. MB58(view stock levels)
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> This is true - but you can use the SAPGUI command, which uses the same technical interface as QTP.
Although the ‘active screen simulator’ in eCATT contains data, it is usually not visible and the user has to guess where to click in order to capture a value. The other option is to forgo the active screen and do all of the work through the command interface.
The active screen in QuickTest allows the user to see the exact state of the screen that was recorded and access the fields in that screen.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> A valid criticism of eCATT. From Release 6.40 (SAP NetWeaver 04), a script-wide search function makes using the command interface easier.
The recorded script is one command, (i.e. TCD(VA01, VA01_1) is the command for an entire sales order), therefore Scripting logic must be placed before, after or around a transaction. There is less freedom in scripting inside of a transaction.
In the Expert view of QTP users can add or delete visual basic statements during any portion of the transaction. Each step, down to a click or keystroke is recorded as an individual statement that can be modified or deleted. Logic such as loops and conditions can be placed around any set of steps.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> Using the SAPGUI command in eCATT, you can create commands that cover a single screen, providing more of the kind of flexibility that you find in QTP.
The eCATT tool does not allow individual steps in a single transaction recording to be rearranged or deleted. If a user makes a mistake while recording, the entire transaction must be re-recorded.
QuickTest allows users to freely remove steps that were mistakes or errors after a transaction has been recorded.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> Again, using SAPGUI in eCATT, this is possible. Admittedly tricky in Release 6.20, but very simple in Web AS 6.40.
SAP’s eCATT cannot inherently read excel spreadsheets for data driven testing. The eCATT tool allows for data driven testing through its own data tables. These are useful for entering small sets of data. For eCATT to test large sets of data created in excel spreadsheets there are three solutions:
    1. Purchase conversion software from SAP
    2. Write an in-house conversion script
    3. Enter data manually into the eCATT data table
QuickTest stores its data table as an excel-readable .xls file.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> 1. Who is selling the conversion software?
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> You can use the class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES to upload a tab-delimited file into an internal table in a test script (using an Inline ABAP routine)
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> Data upload/download is available in Web AS 6.40
Test scripts in eCATT are limited to about 40 parameters.
In QucikTest the only limitation to the number of parameters or number of iterations is the maximum number of columns and rows in an excel worksheet.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> Where does this limitation come from? Does it seem to be technical, or more practical in nature?
Scripts that enter a single line item in a table cannot be modified to enter multiple items later. A new script with multiple line items must be recorded.
A script in QTP can be modified to add a single line item or multiple line items to a table regardless of how many items were entered when the transaction was recorded.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> This is possible in eCATT if you use the SAPGUI command. Because a single SAPGUI command can cover a small part of a transaction, you can isolate the "line item" section in a single command, then put a loop around it. I have an example of this if you need one.
    Script Execution and Analysis
SAP eCATT will respond with a pass/fail status based on its own criteria before any checkpoints have been added. Although eCATT allows for additional checkpoints, there is a minimum level of pre-set requirements that eCATT looks for in order to allow a test to pass. These pre-set requirements cannot be viewed or changed and tests may “fail” even when, from the user’s perspective, the transaction has responded exactly as expected.
Quick Test will only fail a test if the script if it was unable to recognize an object on the screen or complete every statement. Otherwise failure points are completely determined by the insertion of check points by the Test engineer. QuickTest also provides the option to ignore missing objects or uncompleted steps.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> Default conditions in eCATT (for example, fail if an error message occurs) can be overwritten. See eCATT documentation on http://help.sap.com for details (use the NetWeaver 2004 documentation - it is more comprehensive). Then, the only conditions under which the test would fail automatically would be a system error (RFC destination not available, or similar)
If SAP experiences a system failure, eCATT will fail too and test results may be lost.
If SAP were to crash QuickTest can take a screenshot and pinpoint the location in the code where the script failed.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> If you are working remotely (test case and application under test in different systems) you will get a log in the central test system, even if the SUT fails. The only circumstances under which everything is lost would be a full GUI crash!
eCATT cannot use the SAP logon pad to open a new session and log on as a new user.
In QuickTest new sessions can be opened and different users can be logged in with encrypted passwords.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> eCATT uses System Data Containers and RFC destinations to log onto multiple systems as a specified user. This is more flexible than using hard-coded user names in a script and allows you to leverage concepts such as Trusted RFC or SSO.
Aside from printing results on paper, users cannot view test results without an SAP logon to the system where the tests were executed.
Mercury provides a test viewer that can be installed on any machine and allows users without the QuickTest application to view and analyze test results.
<b>==> SAP (JM):</b> eCATT logs can be downloaded in a variety of formats from the log view in transaction SECATT (via the Print Preview function, then List -> Save).
Cannot view a screenshot of the failed step.
QuickTest provides the option to capture a screen shot at the point of failure.
