ECATT to QTP AND QTP to eCATT connectivity

We are trying to open QTP scripts from eCATT & vice-versa.
As per documentation provided by SAP & Mercury all the steps have ben followed but it gives following errors:
1. If QTP script is to be opened from eCATT while creating script using External tool it gives ERROR :"Error During Method Call in OLE API"
2. If eCATT connectivity is tried out from QTP, it showd ERROR : "The eCATT server you specified does not have required support. Select another eCATT server or install
later version of eCATT on your server"
We have checked out support package, required roles and access rights for the same.
Can somebody tell the solution for this problem?

Hi! Just a couple of things:
*What version of QTP and Ecatt (WAS - Web App Server) are you using?
*Is the exteral tool parameters correct(in SAP)?
table ECCUST_ET or functional module SET_EXTERNAL_TOOL
*what mode are you working in?

Hi GS,
1)There are cases where eCATT will support certain applications like web-based application and hence we use QTP which support this application.
To put it short,eCATT works excellent with SAP application and if you need to interface applications outside SAP,you can use QTP.
2)You have to enable setting for the third-party tool.Reach out to your basis team member.
Once setting is made,you should be able to see the QTP tool and you can use the same for recording.

Ecatt and QtP

Dear all,
I am trying to use Qtp and ecatt . I have made the required settings in Qtp and Ecatt.
I am also able to record the script using Qtp and the script is getting created in sap system.
I have also created the User Ecatt_et_usr still when i execute the script directly in ecatt i get the following error
" Failure when starting quicktest professional".
Can u please suggest me a way out.

Check whether or not you have the roles - SAP_ECAT, SAP_ECET and SAP_ECST in your login id.
Check the patch levels, support packages of the system
Check the external tool parameters in the ECCUST_ET table
Note : The mode of execution for external tool should be 'A' - With surface of external tool in the start options

I followed the checklist religiously and things worked out fine for me this first attempt itself.
This is a straight forward integration and should work without creating any hassles

ECATT and QTP integration.

Can any one tell me what is SAP BASIS 620 Support Package level requirement for eCATT & Mercury QTP integration.
Currently we are running eCATT on R/3 4.7 with SAP BASIS Support Package SAPKB62003.
But when we are trying to integrate QTP 6.5 with eCATT it gives following error
(we have done all the required configurations) :
From QTP to eCATT :
"The eCATT server you specified does not have the required support. Select another eCATT server or install a later version of eCATT on your server."
From eCATT to QTP :
"Error During Method Call in OLE API."
Also suggest if we are making some other mistake.

Mercury's QTP and Labview

Hi,
I am trying to use Mercury's QTP to automatically test my application.
I am using an application over Labview 8.0, Using Windows XP pro.
The problem is, QTP does not recognizes any object in a window, besides the window itself.
I tried using SPY++ - result is the same. the SPY only recognizes the window.
Is there an API, maybe in a DLL form which I can hook up to and use it to connect to my objects from outside of Labview?

LabVIEW controls/indicators are not 'windows' objects as you have found out. The only way I know of to set/read LabVIEW objects is to use VI Server. If your test tool supports making ActiveX calls, then you can open a reference to the VI and use the Set Control Value/Get Control Value methods.

Hi Sampath,
First install QTP and SAP Addin with in QTP.
2nd use QC to develop the test plan and then convert that test plan design to Test Scripts (QTP vesrion using settings)
3rd record the R/3 GUI screen of SAP for SD, MM like Create order or Create PR.
Once recording is done QTP will create a script in VB
SAPGuiSession("Session").SAPGuiWindow("SAP Easy Access - User").SAPGuiOKCode("OKCode").Set "/nVA01"
SAPGuiSession("Session").SAPGuiWindow("SAP Easy Access - User").SendKey ENTER
you can always add a parameter and other customization according to your requirement.

Application testing on AIR 2.5, Flex 4.5 and QTP 11

Just wondering if anyone has gotten to get this combination to work for HP's QuickTest Pro?
The HP QTP Flex4 plugin states it supports Flex 4.0.0 and AIR 1.0.0. HP Support site is lacking in a proper search function so finding any information there is close to futile.
Googling only yeilds combinations of earlier revisions of AIR, Flex, and QTP.
During my QTP testing, it only detects the parent container and not any of the child (internal) elements. I did compile in the qtp.swc and qtp_air.swc libraries as found in the Flex SDK.

If you are developing a AIR 2.5 application, you will have to use the InMarket SDK for Flex 4.1 targeting AIR 2.5. Hope this helps.

Exception occurs when OpenScript and QTP resides on the same machine

I attempted to run OpenScript Oracle Forms Script in a machine where QTP is already installed. But system throws an exception while running the scripts. While performing the Diagnosis, System displays following error message stating 'Software Conflict':
HP QTP software has been detected on this machine which could conflict with OpenScript''s Oracle EBS/Forms Functional Testing module. Please consider uninstalling QTP or install OpenScript on a separate machine if you plan to record or playback Oracle EBS/Forms Functional Testing scripts.
In logs, I found following message:

I had downloaded it for test, and requested for evaluation license...
But I haven't got license, and also I am not able to find Flash Builder Plugins from HFCD site....
I think those plugins are removed from site....

Upgraded to extreme and can no longer connect to xbox live

My old airport express died so yesterday I bought an airport extreme to replace it. I had no problems setting it up, my powerbook and powermac connect to the internet just fine. My ps3, wii, and apple tv all connect fine. However I lost the ability to connect to xbox live with my xbox360. Running the "Test Xbox Live Connection" test shows that it passes all the tests and is connected to the internet until it reaches the xbox live test where it fails. According to xbox support there are no current outages or problems with my account.
Since the only thing which has recently changed is the upgrade from airport express to an extreme it seems like that is likely the problem. I thought it might be a NAT or port thing but in the airport setup utility there are no options for changing either NAT or port settings.
Any ideas anyone? It looks like a year ago when the extreme came out there were problems between it and the xbox, but it also looks like they were resolved. Also they caused the xbox not to be able to connect to the network at all, which mine can do.

I wish I could be more help, but I can not think of what the problem would be. I have mine connected to a network that bridges two AEBS to allow for a large area WIFI. I have no problems with either of the 360's connected. I have no special port forwarding or any settings changed to get the connection.
I also know that since I just replaced my main base station for an unrelated problem, that it worked out of the box both times.
I would say try direct connecting it. (the xbox) Not necessarily to correct the problem, but to isolate the AEBS as the problem. I would also try shutting down anything else that may be connecting so you only have a connection with your xbox. Again, none of this will probably solve your issue.... but you can get in contact with customer care or visit a genius bar.
In my experience if you can give detailed results to test you have already performed to trouble shoot, they are very receptive to replacing your product. Isolating the AEBS and saying you know t will connect direct, and that even when it is the only device connected.... it fails. I would also try both wireless and wired if you have both options.
I know it is not the optimal answer.... probably a pain.... but sometimes things just work kinda goofy. I know the stuff works and works great when it does... but I have had my share of issues with apple hardware. The good news is they have never failed me when it comes to taking care of it.
