ECC 6.0 and ECC 5.0 runing in the same Machine.

Hi Guys,
I have a challenge: Install a ECC 6.0 with HR and an ERP 5.0 on the same Machine and Operational System. Do you know some documentation, link or tips for this type of case? Do I need run something different than a normal installation?

What OS are you going for....Windows / unix ?
Just make sure you have enough Memory CPU to facilitate both
and have enouge disk for the paging file.
Have you considered MCOD, and is there a reason why you want to run EEC6 and ECC5 why not just EEC6 for both.

Thank you Joe - I tried this but it's only showing a teensy amount of music - the stuff on the second users account as opposed to the giagntic library on the 'main' account. I have VS2009 running on my machine. I would like to install VS2010 as an eval to start porting an implementation over to VS2010 before I pull the plug on VS2009. Can these bothe be installed and functional side-by-side on the same machine? Are there any caveats to bouncing back and forth between the two? I already have the prereqs listed on the VS2010 eval page (NI-DAQmx 9.1.5, NI-RIO 3.5 and NI-XNET 1.1).

Hi,
I have VS2009 and VS2010 installed in my Windows XP and I can work with them without any problem.
I also tried to port my LV2009 programs to LV2010 but I got problems with VS2009 Off-line API VIs because LV2010 can not convert them. According to the error message, NI delivered the API VIs protected (without diagram).
I believe that you could not have VS2009 and 2010 in the same RT target.

Can we have BusinessObjects 4.0 and 4.1 (tool Clients) both installed on the same machine? Why? Why not?

4.0 and 4.1 are incremental upgrades hence both on the same machine are not possible.
Though u can use 4.1 client tools to login to both 4.1 and 4.0 servers.
3.1 and 4.0/4.1 together is very much possible on the other hand.

Running SUN JRE and Microsoft VM in InternetExplorer on the same machine

Can they be installed - yes.
But your code will not run in the MS VM. And if their applets won't run in your VM that means there will be two VMs running as two separate processes. So the applets will not be interacting with your code directly.

Yes, each upgrade installs into its own folder.
Just don't try and run them at the same time.
Many people keep half a dozen versions (upgrades of each other) on their hard drive since hard drives are so spacious these days.

Of course, you can have many PS_HOME within different Peopletools version on same machine.
However, on Windows workstation/server, you should be careful :
1. with the connectid (people) user and password, it is better if they are same on all your db if you want to avoid to change them through ConfigManager
2. with DataMover default folder, it can take the one from a previous run, regardless the version you were/are using, so it could point to an other PS_HOME than the one you want. Or set a full path directory to your INPUT/OUTPUT file, or change the windows registry (I'm doing it by cmd script)

How can I share ONE thunderbird profile between XP x64 and Windows 7 dual booting on the same machine?

I have a primary XP profile and associated mailboxes/accounts. I am dual-booting to Windows 7 and want to share only that XP profile so that all of my mail appears (and is synchronized) in the Thunderbird browser regardless of which OS I boot to. This seems as simple as pointing the Win 7 mail account local profile to the original XP profile, but that doesn't work. And - please - don't point this question to the response regarding sharing profiles between windows and Linux. That thread hasn't helped. Thanks in advance

Well I have no idea hat thread your talking about, but regardless the process is always the same, use the profile manager to create a new profile and point the profile manager to the profile you wish to use.

Hi all,We have this environment on the reporting server:- OS 2003 server SP1- Analyzer 7.2.1, repository Oracle 10g- Reports 7.2.1, repository Oracle 10g- Web Server: Websphere Express 5.1On another server is installed Essbase 7.1.3.The installation of Analyzer and Reports was OK.I start using first Analyzer and I open an report everything OK. All works fine.If I try to use Reports I receive this error: Native Library D:\Hyperion\common\ADM_A\7.2.1\Essbase\7.2.1\bin\HssJNIDriver721.dll already loaded in another classloader.If, instead, I start to use first Reports .. when I try to use Analyzer.. We had Reports and Analyzer installed on the same 2003 server and they never played well together. If we had one open, and tried to open the other it bombed. We were on version 7.1 of Analyzer and not sure on Reports.

1) As I wrote in my second posting, I think I installed the EP 7.0 correctly for XSS and the BP ERP for ERP2005.
Where can I find what configurations I need to undertake and what patches I should install so the XSS and the BP will work correctly ? (that is besides getting error messages when using an XSS iView)

<b>The pre-requiste for BP ERP2005 is a backend ERP2005. So it will not function with backend ERP 2004.
You don't need to uninstall anything. Just download the Mysap ERP 2004 BP and do the necessary configuration to connect it to the BACKEND ERP 2004.This will solve the problem.

Earlier I worked on ECC 5.0 and have eventually moved on to ECC 6.0 on the HCM module. For my own learning and at times to answer the client, I would like to know the differences between ECC 5.0 and ECC 6.0 with regard to HCM module.

Your question needs lot of explanation but i would try to make it short and simple.
First SAPNetweaver is platform for all the new releases.Previously, in SAP R/3 4.6C the platform was SAP BASIS after that comes SAP R/3 ENTERPRISE which was SAP web AS then Came in mySAP ERP Edition 2003 main component was SAP R/3 Enterprise powered by SAP Netweaver and then mwSAP ERP Edition 2005 main component SAP ECC 5.( ERP centeral component).This ECC comes under my SAP ERP and it consists of other as well like portal,BI,SRM,SCM,SEM etc. SAP netweaver has its own features which u can search online and u will get lot of information on this platform which all u r getting in these new relases powered by SAP netweaver.SO it goes like
SAP R/3 3.1----->SAP R/3 4.6C>SAP R/3 Enterprise-->mySAP ERP2004 -
>mySAP ERP 2005.
There are two stacks in SAP web AS 6.4 ABAP and Java both has diffrent schema's.
where do assigned roles in NetWeaver or in Backend system?
For ABAP we can assign the roles from Tcode : pfcg
and for Java UME or Visual administrator .. it depends on the datasource.
