Iam new to sap . i want to practice various scenarios in ess/mss in my own pc which is installed with ecc 6.0 . what are the configuration to be made in ecc 6.0 for maintaining about 10-20 users for using ess/mss scenarios. i have a knowledge on webdynpro java and little knowledge on ep and using r/3 server. The 10-20 users created should be able to use ess/mss through portal .
So, list the steps configuring for 10-20 users for using ess/mss in ecc ides 6.0 server.

Create Web Service Ecc 6.0 -Configure Web Aplicat. Serv (SICF, SOAMANAGER)

Hi Experts,
Im trying to consume a Web Service. My client recently upgraded to Ecc 6 version, and want's now to change all teh used RFC's to Web Service, and for all i've red until now this step doesn't seems to be so hard, creating the wsdl from the function module.
My difficulty is on th eWAS, Web Aplication Server, configuration. Im unable to create the wsdl due to the lack of configuration on the WAS. I allready been on the SICF, but i dont know what kind of services need to be activated in order to see the soamanager on the Internet Explorer and create the wsdl.
Can anyone provide me documentation to configure the WAS, or tell me how to configure it?
Any help would be apreciated.

R/3 4.7 to ECC Upgrade and configure clustering

Hello All,
I have a query in which I am looking for a best approach.
Currently I have my R/3 4.7 System on AIX and Oracle. Now I want to Upgrade the system to ECC 6 EHP4 and then configure HA for the ECC System.
Can some body suggest me the best process how to go ahead. I want to install ASCS and Dialog Instance on Node 1 and CI and Database on Node 2. Please explain me how can I seperate my ASCS now as in 4.7 ASCS was a part of CI.

You can do fresh install the ASCS and DVEBMGS with sapinst (yes even with an ASCS, the first dialog instance is still called central instance). There is also a createscs procedure available, have a look at note [821904 - Separating SCS instances for ABAP and J2EE|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/821904]
But you don't need to do this at all, you can still run the one single central instance on node 1. In your setup splitting the central instance does not provide any additional benefit.

SAP CRM to ECC - SSO Configuration - Logon Language Setup

Hi All,
I am a BASIS consultant currently handling one CRM project. I need a help in configuring SSO between CRM and ECC. Now SSO is not configured, so When I click on the External Link created in CRM calling an ECC transaction, it requests for Client/UserID/Password/LogonLang for the ECC system. Here it takes Logon Language as same as what I have logged in CRM. Hope once SSO configured it will check only for the userID and log into ECC without requesting any further details. But the issue here is we are planning to have additional languages in CRM but not in ECC. So whenenver user logs in CRM with language other than EN - english (eg. FR), and when tried to login to ECC with the external link from CRM, by default ECC login needs to be logged in with language EN, as FR will not be available in ECC. I do not find any logon language configuration in SSO, how can we achieve this, logging into language FR in CRM, logging in EN when clicking External ECC link? Configuring Logon Data defaults (in SU01) in ECC, restricting to logon language EN, will not help I hope. Please advise.

Thanks for the response. When user from CRM logged in another language than EN for eg. FR, clicks on external link in CRM, takes to EN, only if that language FR is not installed in ECC, else it will take to the same language in which CRM user logged in. This cannot be controlled in SSO configuration. Is this correct?
In case if FR is installed in both the systems, ie CRM and ECC, but user wants to log only to EN when clicked the external link(to ECC) from CRM, how we can configure this, Is any parameter can control or SSO setup configuration available? Please advice.

Error while creating webservice from function module in ECC

Hi
while creating a web service out of a function module in ECC, in the configure service section we get a message saying ' Remember that the service does not have any runtime configuration and therefore cannot be used. Create the Web service configuration in the NetWeaver Admninistrator (transaction WSADMIN2).'
instead of check box 'release for runtime'.
Our ECC at release 7 patch level 22.
Checked in SCICM, SICF teh service and the folder are active.
Please suggest if we are missing on anything

In new version on ECC, the runtime configurations needs to be performed in transaction SOAMANGER.
On executing the transaction, it opens a browser. The important configurations to be performed are:
1. Configure J2EE server and host. You can choose to provide the ECC server and host
2. Administration of the service in "Single Service Administration". The navigation path may differ depending of the ECC versions. But it is related to administration of the services.
Once done, check the WSDL generated.
Use this WSDL in the NWDS.

Timeout error in ECC "INTERNAL.CLIENT_RECEIVE_FAILED Error while receiving by HTTP (error code: 402 , error text: ICM_HTTP_TIMEOUT)"

Dear Experts,
I am very critical situation due to this timeout error in ECC, please help me as much as you can. Go-live date is very near, but I am not getting any clue why this error is occurring. our ECC system is EHP 4, and PI is dual stack 7.4
My scenario is synchronous ABAP proxy to HTTP_AAE. request is triggering from ECC via proxy and reaching to third party (bank) through PI, I am reviving the response back in PI from bank. But from PI to ECC the response is not reaching. So in ECC after the defined Timeout limit its getting timed out.
I have tried everything by increasing the timeout in ECC more than 15 minutes in HTTP_TIMEOUT under SXMB_adm in ECC, but nothing worked, even if I am increasing for half an hour then also its getting timeout after half an hour.
response from bank to PI is coming within 30 to 40 seconds, but PI is not sending the response back to ECC.
This is classical scenario, and I have checked the trace via SXMB_Moni in PI as well as in ECC, in ECC its showing the timeout error, but in PI i did not see any trace for this error.
I have read many thread on SCN for the same error, and everywhere it has been suggested to increase the timeout, and I have tired that, it didn't help me.
All ABAP proxy configuration has been done as follows.
RFC destinations in ECC
LCRSAPRFC(TCP/IP)
SAPSLDAPI ((TCP/IP))
G type destination to path "/sap/xi/engine?type=entry"
G type destination SAP_PROXY_ESR to path "/rep"
All the destination connection test is working fine.
but i have a doubt on G type destination(AAE_XDJ) to path "/sap/xi/engine?type=entry" which is returns the status code 500 with message "Empty HTTP request received", is it ok with 500 ?

How the message gets pushed to ECC from PI, once the message received in PI, I believe by G type RFC destination on path "/sap/xi/engine?type=entry" , please clarify.
How to trace this, if message is not getting pushed to ECC, I mean I have checked the trace in PI XSMB_MONI, but didn't get anything for this error. In ECC SXMB_moni only I am able to the timeout error.
Please expert help me as soon as you can, this error really effecting me badly in front of management

I configured the scenario based on ICO, and again I received the same timeout error in ECC.
I am really sick with this error, and I have raised the OSS message to SAP. Meanwhile I just want to double check my entire configuration with you. Please see the below configuration (for classical) for ABAP proxy to HTTP_AAE, and let me know if anything is wrong.

ESR Configuration
I have simply created 2 data types for requests(ECC->PI->Bank) and did one to one mapping. Similarly for response(Bank->PI->ECC) 2 data types, one to one mapping for this as well.
But I just want to clarify about selecting the Request and response message type in inbound and outbound service interface. please explain me this for synchronous interface.

Error while posting GR from EWM in ECC. "Problem with receiver finding"

I have completed putaway of inbound delivery in EWM. This has triggered PPF to ECC for GR posting. This is stuck in ECC SMQ2 with error "Problem with receiver finding".
I have checked ECC>EWM interface configuration. Handling unit management setup in ECC and EWM. Do not see any issues there. Also tested GR account postings with IM storage location for Po in ECC. This is also working fine...so no issue with account determination.
Unable to figure out what is causing issue. Please help. Thank you.

Thanks for your responses. Issue was with distrubution model fiter parameters. for message type InboundDelivery.Deliverychange there was additional filter parameter for logical system. Removed values for logical system and only retained warehouse number.
With this issue is resolved. GR is posted succesfully in ECC.

LDAP configuration for HR Portal in dual stack EHP4 - Best Practice

We are trying to use the JAVA Stack of ECC server for HR Portal i.e Dual Stack and have applied EHP4 package for ESS/MSS Appraisal. When we are trying to configure the LDAP ADS datasource through portal , we are not able to do it since ABAP datasorce file is available by default.This we are doing for HR(ESS/MSS) Portal.This is for access to the object data stored in the Active Directory.
We have already checked note 718383.
Also, for the scenatrio ,LDAP <-> ABAP <-> J2EE

What should now be the best practice to follow for configuration ? Should we go for separate Portal server or is it possible to use Java Stack of ECC server for configuration ?

Are the suggestions applicable for load balanced production servers as well?

Production Operation open quantity due to Scap ECC confirmation

Hi
We are using transaction CO15 (order confirmation) for confirmations of production orders. When we confirm Scrap, the scrap quantity is updated on the Last operation on the ECC order. So, for example order for 1000 pcs and we confirmed 100 as yield and 10 as scrap.
The ECC order will look like that after the cnfirmations:
oper 0010:
Operation Qty :1000
Confrimed scrap : 0
confirmed yield: 110
Oper 0020:
Operation Qty :1000
Confrimed scrap : 10
confirmed yield: 100
In APO for operation 0010 the operation qty is now = 890
But in fact, production planning personal want to see in APO for the operation in the DS palnning board, that actually 900 pcs as the leftover to produce.
Any way to achive that? Is it ECC or APO configuration?

The question is it possible to use MPL without activating the ECC- DIMP

Hi Venkat,
If a report is created over a DSO, it pulls data from the active table of a DSO. So as suggested in all the posts above it is not possiable to report on the DSO without activating it.
Activation of DSO only allows to generate SID's to link transaction data and master data, SID's could also be generated at the time of reporting (When the report fetches data from BI server, but for the SID generation data is needed in active table). Also activation checks the correctness of data etc.
Could you please let know why you want to report on the unactive request, is it having some problem with activation?

SAP BW 7.4 Java to ECC integration is some wizard will be there.
the same way in ABAP stack any transaction or wizard is there or not.

ERM Configuration error "UNHANDLED ERROR N/A"

We are doing ERM configuration in our ECC system .
while configuration we are receiving "UNHANDLED ERROR N/A" error.
we contacted SAP and received the reply to run SU25 first as ECC system was recently upgraded but SU25 was not executed.
As of now our ECC system is working fine without SU25 run as during and after upgrade we have resolved the errors using testing results and one of the tool.
Now we have suggestions to run SU25 w/o bringing any new objects/tcodes or any changes to any of the profiles and roles.
Please suggest if it is possible to run Su25 w/o effecting existing security and how. we are planning to test it in one of our sandbox first.

Why did you upgrade then? If you do not care about SU24 and have manual authorizations then you should not care about running SU25 either?
The main pest here is that the GRC "permissions" level data is based only on the proposals of SU24. This is actually a very stupid design as it forces you to maintain proposals with values simply so that you can report on them, but then your roles look like a dog's breakfast.
Actually, if you could maintain all transactions contexts for all their capabilities as proposals as well, then at the end you will have achieved the same as if you had re-written the whole of the system code because you will have seen it all. And all roles with standard authorizations will be equivalent to SAP_ALL as well.
If you are using menus and proposals, then perform the upgrade tasks propoerly and raise customer messages to complain about the proposals which GRC type tools have convinced SAP to maintain excessively in SU24 and those which they did not maintain at all because they are not on some SOD radar (but are still a big security problem).
That is enough rant now... --> Do you have a sandbox copy or know the exact release and SP level?
This is just a table entry from which the exception is raised, which is also transported in step 3. You should shame yourself, but you could simply transport it instead of upgrading.

As i understand.
In Lotus database you have some data wich you want import to MDM and than syndicate to ECC
Let assume that you already have some data in MDM repository and turn syndication process to ECC
First of all you sould found PI adapter for working with Lotus database.
Than you should create as-is(Lotus) to-be(your mdm repository) model for importing data from lotus to mdm
Than configure your PI(test sending data from Lotus to mdm inbound port)
Than configure your MDM Import server(for importing data from inbound port to repository)
That is all.
