ECC 6.0 EHP5
Dear All,
I am Installing ECC 6.0 EHP5 on SLES 11.0 SP1 with 4 GB of RAM and 1000GB of HDD.
Is it possible to upgrade my RAM upto 8GB in future?
Will SAP Support this later on?
As there are only two slots for RAM available in my SERVER.
Kindly help me out regarding the same.

Hi,
4GB of RAM for EHP5 system is very less. You may face a lot of problems during installation or upgrading any component with SAINT.
If your server supports upgrade of RAM then there is no issue, you can upgrade RAM anytime. But after that you need to fine tune DB and SAP parameter as per new RAM available on the server.

ECC UPGRADE R/3 4.7 EXT 1.1 to ECC 6.0 EHP5
Hello Experts
We are performing an R/3 upgrade from 4.7 ext 1.1 to ECC 6.0 EHP5 for one of our clients. The Landscape includes 3 tier systems DEV, QAS and PRD (Based MSCS). For initial dry run we are planning to upgarde sandbox (SBX) which is a copy of PRD system. The R/3 4.7 system is based on "Windows NT 5.2" and "MSSQL (8.00.2040)" which we are planning to copy to new hardware which would be based on "WINDOWS 2008 Server" and "MSSQL SERVER 2008".
Also the upgarde would be of type CUUC as the current R/3 system is a non-unicode system. We also plan to include chinese language for the new systems.
P.S :- All the 4 systems (SBX, DEV,QAS, PRD (Based on MSCS)) would be first copied to new hardware and then upgarded to ECC 6.0 EHP5. The DB is appx 450 GB in size and we also need to setup a Solman system from scratch.
So the question that i would like to pose to all you subject matter experts is ....
What is the time frame that we should keep to perform the complete Upgrade preoject with all the above activities with possible issues arising during the upgrade phase.

There are no standard timeliness for the upgrade project. It depends upon number of factors like number of background processes, no of R3trans processes defined in configuration phase, Memory parameters etc. So, it is really difficult to give you an estimate for this. Best option is do the test upgrade, so that you will get an idea how much time it will take.
Also, If you want to migrate your existing system to new hardware then I would suggest you to install your system as unicode system on new hardware as a result you can save a lot of time because of unicode conversion in CUUC.

I upgraded ECC 6.0 EHP5 and then try to add-on SAP Product and REACH Compliance 2.0 in SAP ECC 6.0 EHP5.
I aleady knew REACH 2.0 is available with ERP 6.0 EHP5 through Note 1389561 - SAP PRC 2.0: Installation and upgrade for ERP 6.0 and SAP Note 1456663 - SAINT: Enhancement Package 5 components on NW 7.02.
But unfortunately, When I try to install REACH 2.0 using SAINT, The error message was pop-up

You could check the upgrade logs and traces at the location ../usr/sap/<sid>/upg/abap/logs.
Check for the latest last changed logs. Mos probably a prerequisite package for the REACH 2.0 installation is not included in the upgrade. The detailed logs should mention which prerequisite is missing.

Error in Team Calendar View in new WD ABAP Lea Req. app in ECC 6.0 EhP5
Hi Gurus,
We have upgraded our ECC system from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 EhP5 recently and deployed new Business Packages for ESS WDA 1.50 and MSS 1.51 which supports new WD Abap applications supplied in EhP 5.
We have configured Leave request application and it is working fine now. But only the issue with Team Calendar View in Leave request. If we click on "Team Calendar" tab it throwing error :

I have observed that default RFC destinations for IGS exists in SAP when I checked using tnx SM59. i.e IGS_RFC_DEST and
GFW_ITS_RFC_DEST .
When I executed tnx SIGS, IGS administration page is opening properly. Please let me know where else shall I need to check for IGS.
Mean while we will apply SAP notes which u have suggested.

We are planning to implement Best Practice for Fabricated Metals V1.604 on ECC 6.0 environment.
We are on ECC 6.0 EHP5, but the SAP installation document mentions to install Fabricated Metals V1.604 on ECC 6.0 with EHP4.
Also I dont think SAP has released Best Practice for Fabricated Metals for EHP5.
I would request your confirmation if we can still install Best Practice for Fabricated Metals V1.604 on ECC 6.0 EHP5, does EHP5 supports BP V1.604, Let us know if there will be any impact on Fabricated Metals V1.604 if we install on EHP5.
I didnt find any SAP note or document to answer my question. Please provide some reference for the same.

SAP Upgrade 4.6C to ECC 6.0 EHP5 system customer is using Data Archiving
Dear All,
I am planning to do SAP Upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 EHP5, in the source system customer is using SAP DATA ARCHIVING. As per some of the SAP Notes before downtime phase we need to disable all the dataarchiving jobs .
1) My question is do we need to do any presteps before starting the upgrade related to SAP DATA ARCHIVING ?
2) After the upgrade if customer wants to use the old archiving objects etc... whether they will able to do it. For this do we need to raise any message with SAP regrading the dataarchiving before the upgrade
Please let me know if you have any ideas on the above questions.

I would suggest you to do the data archiving after upgrade project or finish data archiving before upgrade project. As lots of new archiving objects has been delivered in ECC.
Also, its true that before starting downtime project you need to stop all your jobs. Also, SAP has recently introduced new retention management technique for data archiving starting from EHP4 onwards to manage data archiving more efficiently. Display Graphics is not working in ECC 6.0 EHP5 SAP System
Hello All,
We have an SAP system running on ECC 6.0 with EHP5 installed in it.
In UDM_Supervisor when i click on ALV Display Graphics it is not opening it is throwing the below mention error.
When i click on the highlighted icon on the top it throws the below error.
When i click on there is no additional information available.
I could not locate any Relevant SAP notes.
Could you please help me in fixing this error.

1) it is possible that the BAdI definition class (for classic BAdIs, it is usually CL_EX_BATCH_MASTER) has been changed manually by SAP, and they removed the LOOP, or have added an EXIT right before the ENDLOOP. I know they sometimes do it.
2) I would check if the BATCH_MASTER classic BAdI has been migrated to new BAdI, in that case I think you should migrate your BAdI implementations
3) Just to be sure: if an implementation raises an exception, that's normal that the other implementations are not executed.

SAP ECC 6.0 EHP5 with Opentext VIM 7.0 - Question on System Copy / Refresh

We are planning to perform a system refresh of our QA systems (platform: Windows / SQL 2005). The ECC system has Opentext Vendor Invoice Management 7.0 on it.
I was looking for some documentation explaining the Pre and / or Post system copy (refresh) activities specific to Opentext VIM, but could find none so far.
I have tried on Opentext website, SAP SMP and Google.
Are there any VIM specific tasks for system copy ?
Is there any documentation that you can lead me to ?
Any help / lead is appreciated.

SreeThere shouldn't be any specific procedures for the system copy as there is OpenText VIM add-on installed on the system. As the add-on's are stored in the database you just need to restore the database and do the post refresh activities.

Upgrade from ECC 6.0 EHP5 to EHP7 issue with PO header
HI Experts,
We Upgrade the Ecc 6.0 recently from EHP 5 To EHP 7. In EHP 5 when we select the PO type (REW - Reject ) in ME21N , Reject tab will appear at header level.
In EHP 7 When we enter the PO type (REW - Reject ) in ME21N ,Reject tab will not appearing and it is asking for the organisation elements and vendor .After entering the all the organisation data only reject tab appear in header level.
My client wants EHP 5 Functionality in EHP 7.What clould be the reason to behave like this.How to achive this requirement.

It is proved lot of times if you are upgraded new enhancement package in the server then enhancements need to re-check and do manually development in new server and retesting in quality server before moving to Production server.
Ask Abaper to check whether enhancement updated in new enhanced server . If no then Abaper need to update manually.

Enhancement package 5 (EHP5) is insatalled in my project server. However I am not able to see the PS functions (Intermediate save, ACL...).
Is there any particular component has to be activated for PS???

We are upgrading from ECC 5.0 to ECC 6.0 EHP5 and EP 6.0 SP23 to EP 7.0 EHP2 {7.02}.
Right now the ESS/MSS BP's used in the Existing system (ECC 5.0 and EP 6.0) are given below.

and they wont be supported and you ll definately get support mismatch here

Is it mandatory to use SRM 7 ehp1 with ECC 6 ehp5? Our client has ECC 6 ehp 4 and is now upgrading from SRM 4 to SRM 7 ehp1. Can you share some links where I can confirm if SRM 7 ehp1 with ECC 6 ehp5 is mandatory?
Also pl let me know what is the difference between shopping cart creation in SRM 4.0 and SRM 7.0 ehp1. SAP says they have changed something and made it more user friendly. Is it different from normal SRM 7 (without the ehp component?)

There are 3 ways of sending PO from SRM to ECC
1.Via - RFC ( by setting the system landscape to a lesser version ) it will not have any side effects just that it used RFC connections instead of ESOA
2.Via PI - by setting the landscape to the current version and configure the relevant XML services in the SOAMANGER
3. via Non PI Web Services- by setting the landscape to current version . This time the webservices are configured in SRM system itself.
I have configured transfer of Contracts from SRM 7.01 to ECC 6.5 EHP5 as Contract/ Scheduling Agreement to the backend with Non PI Web Services(via XML). This way we didnt have to install PI at the client place which saved them a lot.
