hi , im abhijeet i want to start server of ecc 6.0 but there is a error related to mmc screen for authorization password. i m not understand that what is that password can any one please help me to start up my server.

Hello Abhijeet,
whenever u start SAP from MMC it asks for the password for sidadm.
so whoever has installed SAP for you,ask him to get you the password for sidadm,you will not face any issues then

I have one more doubt on Multi region Functionality. Here we are using single EP Portal. Depending up on user we are able to connect to the ECC System.

Hi Vijay,
Not just multiple Systems/JCos needed, you also need multiple souce objects to connect to multiple Systems/JCos.
In your case you need multiple iView (applications), and configure them to connect to different back-end systems.
You got to modify the Application Parameter of WD iView objects saperately to talk to different systems.
Reason, you cannot make one application to use multiple JCo destinations at any point of time.

Interface Issue

Hi,
We are interfacing data from txt file to the ECC Unicode system.
In text file charecters are looks like KÏÂÕ 0,8ÌÌ ÏÐÎÇÐÀ×ÍÛÉ and same charectrers we are able to see in the document which posted by the interface.
However, when we upload same file in 46C Non unicode MDMP system, I can see these charectes to the equivalent Russian Charecters ПВХ 0,8ММ ПРОЗРАЧНЫЙ if I change my SAP GUI settings to Cyrillic.
Changing SAP GUI setting to Cyrillic in ECC is not possible as system is Unicode.
Is there any way by which charecters KÏÂÕ 0,8ÌÌ ÏÐÎÇÐÀ×ÍÛÉ will be converted to ПВХ 0,8ММ ПРОЗРАЧНЫЙ during interface of the file.

The File is uploaded from backend (.TXT file).
We are uploading file using open dataset command in program.
I tried to upolad same file using RU login, results are as follows.
Original Charecters in file: KÏÂÕ 0,8ÌÌ ÏÐÎÇÐÀ×ÍÛÉ
Charecters uploaded in ECC System (RU Login): ЯТе 0,8ЬЬ ЯаЮЧаРзЭлЩ
Correct expected Russian charecters are: ПВХ 0,8ММ ПРОЗРАЧНЫЙ (these charecters can be seen in 46C system with cyrillic settings in GUI)

Unable to create shopping cart (multiple errors)

I have maintained Plant -> Storage Locations -> Extended Attributes in PPOMA_BBP. I got the partner Id from BBP_LOCMAP after running the BBP_LOCATIONS_GET
I have checked the RFC connection from SRM to ECC (R3 system). I am able to get into ECC without the login details
Can you please advise on the troubleshooting steps?

Does the user you are testing with have the required puchasing roles?
I have noticed that there are some customizing roles in SU01.
Are the correct attributes maintained in PPOMA_BBP?
Please check table BBP_DET_LOGSYS as it may contains old product
category GUID.
After downloading the customzing object, DNL_CUST_PROD0, in your
system, the GUID created in COMM_CATEGORY table could be different from
the one used in BBP_DET_LOGSYS.
Redo the "Define Backend System for Product Category" in the IMG
and recheck.
Please also verify the business organization settings.

Principal propagation for IDoc...

i'm aware that this feature is not supported in PI 7.1 but was wondering if there is any other way that an IDoc can be posted in ECC based on login details sent across to PI from an external system. Is it possible?

You may use ABAP Proxy for achieving proncipal propagation and send the Idoc data inside proxy.

Plant Attribute issue

Hi all,
i got the below issue,,
DataSource 0PLANT_ATTR does not have the same status as the source system in the Business Information Warehouse.
The time stamp in the source system is 03/10/2011 03:10:12.
The time stamp in the BW system is 11/08/2009 23:39:40.
can anyone give soultion what to do now..

Try replicating datasource and once datasource changes are available in BW if you want to load new attribute values you need to change your transformation to extract the same.
if you still continue to face this problem you can right click on datasource->display datasource in source system
then login to ECC system from login prompt you get and then come back one step.
in this process system automatically checks datasource and in case of incosistency does necessary changes.

Hostname is used to identify server, acts like IP address
Details of ECC/XI system
Login to system using SAP logon pad
System --> Status will give you hostname and system name
System name can also be found in
SApP logon pad --> select desired server --> right click --> properties

Remote login in SM51 Fails / ECC 6.0 / HP-UX / Oracle 10

Hi All,
We had a cluster, 4 physical servers / 14 SAP Instances / HP-UX - Oracle 10G / ECC 6 EHP 3.
Basically we have a general RFC problem in the system. You can reproduce it simply in transaction sm51: In most of the instances whenever you try to change to an instance that has the same instance number than the one you are logged on at this moment, you will come back to this instance, e.g.:
you are logged on at host1_SID_01, start sm51 and try to change to the instances:
host2_SID_01,
host3_SID_01 or
host4_SID_01
(or you try to display the system log or other). You will see (System - Status) that you don't change to these instances but will stay on host1_SID_01.
We found the SAP Note 662895 - Remote login using SM51 Fails. In this note they refer to the error: "Transaction termination 14 025".
Now we have this error (we upgraded from SAP 46C with another error in sm21).
The problem is that we really donu2019t understand exactly what they want to do in the SAP Note 662895:

Who is the origin server? Host A? Host B? In fact sometimes you can go from A to B and vice versa. So changing the gw/alternative_hostnames parameter doesn't appear to be a solution.
I would appreciate some tips about this Note / Problem.

Exactly we have 3 host each one with 4 dialog instances. 1 host with 2 dialog instances and one host with the central instance.
Not all instances have this problem, only the following combination:

For example from Dialog Instance 3 running on host 2 to Dialog Instance 3 running on host 3
For example host4_SID_01 means the Dialog Instance 1 running on host 4.

ECC SR2 Fresh INstall Login Problems...

Hello Guys,
I installed Fresh ECC SR2 in my PC, and in Client Details (SCC4) found 4 clients already there...
800 - IDES-ALE: Central
810 - IDES-ALE: Sales
811 - IDES-ALE: Production
812 - IDES-ALE: Warehouse
How do i login to these cleints? the sap* and master password does not work....
In ecc 5.0 i remember creating a 800 client for training...
Please give me some steps to get this working.. Thanks... The Books ADM110 does not say much about creating clients and users.. Do you create a new client from 000 or 001 ?

You have to reset SAP* password in client 800, follow the below procedure
1:Login as ora<SID>
2:sqlplus u201C/as sysdbau201D
3:delete SAPR3. USR02 where BNAME = 'SAP*' and MANDT='000';
4:commit;
Now bounce your SAP system so that changes will take effect.
Note:In place of SAPR3 give your schema id of your database
In place of 000 give your client number that is 800
To know your schema id login as ora<SID>, execute this command:
env | grep schema (this apply for only HPUX, not windows)
then login to 800 client with SAP* and password as PASS

If you are still unable to login to sap check the parameter of
login/no_automatic_user_sapstar in default profile or instance profile if the value is 1 then change it to 0 and bounce your system.let me know if you have any concerns

Hi, we upgraded the system from 4.6 to ECC 6. and now some of our users have the problems with passwords (login).
We suspect that more users have the same password. Is it possible that in new verision users need to have different passwords?

Security Issues for Remote Login to ECC Server

Hi,
I have configured the saprouter so that people can remotely access the SAP ECC Servers outside the local area network. The saprouttab file contains the following entry:
P * * *
The parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar has also been set to a value 1.
The user DDIC and SAP* can only be accessed using the master password, which is provided at installation time.
Is my network secure enough? Or do I need to take into account some more steps / measures?

Generally its not recommended to open up your network in the manner you have mentioned, however if its a requirement you cannot deny here is what first comes to my mind:
Use the 'S * * *' instead of 'P * * *' (unless you are using ITS/J2EE and letting people access using HTTP(S)) , this will ensure that people are able to access only SAP protocol and not any other protocol

Also,
It will be a good idea to allow access only to a particular IP Address i.e. the SAP Application Server instead of the entire IP range.

This will take you to the EP Home Page if EP is installed.
Host Name :
You can use either Host name or IP Address
of the server.
If you are using Host name you need to update your Host file in your desktop.
Host File will be located under:
Go to Start ->Go to "Run" ->Type "Drivers" ->Open "etc" ->Open file "Hosts" with Notepad
Update the file by adding one line like below:
102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com
Note:The above IPaddress&Host name is just for example.You need to provide your server's details.
Port Number:
The Value will be: 5<system number>00
If your System no is 00 then your Port Number is 50000
If your System number is 01 then your Port Number is 50100

Error while deploying a PAR file from NWDS into an ECC.

I am getting this error while deploying a PAR file from NWDS into an ECC.
Operation Failed: Please make sure the server is running or check the log (sap-plugin.log) for
more detail.
My server is running properly
1 - Where is sap-plugin.log file? I don´t find it.
2 - Could there be another file with another name with information about the error?
3 - Is there another way to deploy the file directly from the ECC?

Just make sure you have maintained correct server setting to check the same open the NWDS and follow this path

Check the following enteries
