ECC 6.0 Service Pack 4 Upgrade Impact on CRM 5.0

Hello,
With regards to an upgrade of ECC 6.0 SP4 (Enhancement Pack 1 to Enhancement Pack 4), I wish to know which areas of the CRM module would be impacted (also considering that the version is CRM 5.0).
Any known experienced issues of ENH 4 impact on CRM 5.0 ?
Thank you very much,
Eyal

Eyal,
Unless you make major changes in SD(in ERP) during the ECC EHP4 upgrade, then I don't see major problems.  You probably want to make sure that regression testing is perfomed, but that is probably part of your plan anyway.
I would guess that beyond regression testing you won't have much to do, during the ECC EHP4 upgrade.  Keep in mind though if your CRM system calls any non-standard function modules in ERP you always have a risk of those breaking.
Take care,
Stephen

  • BW service pack upgrade impact to BPC

    Hi,
We currently have BW for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP2, SP06. The plan is to upgrade to SP15.
I am wondering, what impact if any this will have on the BPC component. BPC is version7.5 NW SP07.
    Thanks

We went from BW 7.01 sp8 to sp13 with BPC 7.5Nw sp7 without problems.
I'll add that BPC got some speed improvements from the various fixes in MDX component.

  • Impact of enhancing standard infotypes on service pack upgrade

    Hi SAP experts,
I have a situation where in we had enhanced standard infotype 14 ( added custom fields to structure CI_P0014) in development systems and moved to production systems. Now these changes should be moved to project system in which the service pack upgrade is in progress. Will it impact the SP upgrade if I move my transports to these systems? Will it overwrite the sp changes for IT14?
P.S : The support pack was not applied to the system in which the std infotype was enhanced.
    Regards,
    Sameena

You should re-apply any customer enhancements etc to your development environment after SP's are applied - But only after you have a developer review potential impacts from SP and your development.
I think you would be fine as IT14 isn't updated often in SP's.
    Cheers,
    Brad

  • BI Activities in Service Pack Upgrade

    Hi,
We are upgrading all the systems to the next service pack. Presently BI is on Netweaver Stack 12 and application stack 14. Basis is planning to upgrade the Netweaver stack to 17 and application stack to 19. As part of this upgrade project they would need the activities which can be planned from BI side. Can any one help me to identify the activities need to be planned from BI side during and after the service pack upgrade. Based on this I would need to prepare the estimates for the activities.
    Regards

No you don't need to stop SQL Services before patching, but you may be required to restart SQL after a patch has been applied for changes to take effect.
SP installation checks for locked files, it would suggest to stop identified services manually.
You don't need to do before hand.

  • Downtime required for ECC 6.0 service pack application

Does anyone have any data on the amount of time required to apply service packs to ECC 6.0 when DB2 z/OS is the backend database?
We have done several tests in a sandbox system and the best case we have gotten so far using production LPAR weights is 6.5 hours to go from SP10 to SP11. Our z9 has 158 MSUs.
SAP has also done some benchmarking on a z900 lab machine with >400 MSUs and gotten similar runtimes.
Applying the same service pack to a sandbox on Windows x64 with SQLServer 2005 takes 2.5 hours.
We would like to understand the 2 to 3 times difference in runtimes and improve the DB2 z/OS case.
    Brian

    Omer,
Thanks for the suggestions. They are not at all out line as I would rather hear something I already know than not hear something I don't even know to check.
    To answer:
    1) Everything in our landscape uses ficon (DASD and tape)
    2) We initially implemented with the SAP directories (sapmnt, usrsap, and trans) on NFS for z/OS. Since we installed ASCS/SCS on USS for z/OS for HA, the filesystems were in HFS and then shared out via NFS to the application servers. Performance was horrible once there got to be more than about 1000 files in a directory, which happens quite often with spool requests and job logs in production ECC. We opened a PMR with IBM z/OS NFS support, and at their suggestion changed from HFS to ZFS, made sure the LPAR which owned the ZFS filesystems was also the LPAR running NFS, etc. We never found a performance silver bullet and testing we did with a zLinux NFS server on the exact same CEC and DASD proved to be 3-4 times faster than NFS on z/OS, so we moved all the SAP files to NFS on zLinux.
    3) I don't have exact figures, but the majority of time seems to be spent in the IMPORT_PROPER phase. During our next test cycle I will note the times of the various phases from the import log.

  • Prerequisites for OS service pack upgrade from SAP end.

    Hi All,
I Have AIX 5.3 OS at TL 08 and Service pack 1 level JS 23 and JS12 blades.
IBM wants to upgrade it to TL 8 SP7 as the IBM centre supports TL8 SP7 for AIX 5.3 JS23 Blade.
So we are planning to go ahead with SP enhancement to SP7 from SP1. Are there any pre-requisites from SAP end for upgrading the same.
    Regards,

    Check

Also check with your database vendor if the target level is supported.

  • Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack Upgrade - Outlook connectivity issue

    Hi,
After upgrading to Exchange Server 2013 service pack 1, we are unable to connect via Outlook 2010 or Outlook 2013. Outlook Web Access is working fine though. We have followed all the instructions, and have applied Outlook upgrades, but the issue remain the
same. Outlook was working fine before the upgrade.
Have we missed out something. I would highly appreciate if someone can help out? I'm not sure if this is the known issue as I can't seem to find anything on the internet.
    Already applied the transport fix.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
According to your description, your Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013 come across the connectivity issue.
To narrow down the issue, I’d like to recommend the following troubleshooting:
    1. Check if the issue happens on all Outlook users
    2. Check the Outlook Anywhere connectivity by using ExRCA:
    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/
Additionally, MAPI over HTTP is only supported when you use Outlook 2013 sp1 and Exchange 2013 sp1 at the same time. Since the issue also happens on Outlook 2010 client, we can firstly try the above troubleshooting.
If you have any question , please feel free to let me know.
    Thanks,

  • Service Pack Upgrade question

Hey everyone, I hope this is the proper forum for this question.  If not, any direction on that end is appreciated.
I am currently in an Enterprise Portal sp12 environment running ESS/MSS sp9.  My client wants to upgrade the ERP backend to Service Pack 35.  What I cannot find out (perhaps due to being seemingly unable to properly navigate the Service Marketplace) is whether or not this ERP upgrade necessitates a move to another Service Pack of ESS/MSS, like sp 14.  We would prefer to not have to, given our time constraints.
Any help anyone can provide with this would be most helpful.  If I have not clearly stated the issue, I would be happy to clarify.
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • BPC Service Pack Upgrade

    Hi -
I am currently supporting BPC 7.5 NW on Service Pack 07.
The Basis team on my project has confirmed that our sandbox environment for BPC is on SP13. However, when I log onto this environment, there is no prompt to install the upgrade, and it appears that I am still on SP07.
Are there specific steps the Basis team should perform to enable the install prompt on the front end, and if so what are they?
Also, assuming I am able to install SP13 for sandbox, will I be able to easily revert back to the older SP on the other environments?
    Thank you.

    Vadim,
OK, I thinked that you have this information at your hand. How you say it.
I have been searching but I have not found it.
Thanks a lot and sorry for the inconvenients.

  • Service pack upgrade

    Hi Experts,
while upgrading sql server with the latest service pack, what is the best approach? do we required to stop sql server and upgrade?
as per my understanding, we need to make sure sql server is up and running while patching. when there is a discussion happend with one of my managers, they do patching for they applications (related to dot net. not sql server), they turnoff all apps, and
then do upgrade. we never do like this, but i really dont know even this is best practice for sql server. i did not see any document on this.
please could you suggest on this?
    thanks in advance.
    Cheers, Vinod Mallolu

No you don't need to stop SQL Services before patching, but you may be required to restart SQL after a patch has been applied for changes to take effect.
SP installation checks for locked files, it would suggest to stop identified services manually.
You don't need to do before hand.

  • Service pack upgradation

    Hello all,
Hope everyone are doing excellent. I required small information.
We are using Exchange 2010(Without SPs) and we have the below setup.
    1. Two CAS/HUB(installed on same servers) on which we configured CAS Array.
    2. Two MBX servers which are in DAG.
I want to apply service pack now.
Currently as SP3 with Rollup 5 is available, can i directly install the same or how it is.
Also suggest me, what is the process i need to follow based on my setup.
    Best Regards,
        Jay.
    Regards, Jay.

    Hi Jay,
yes, please install sp3 and then ru5. Make sure u upgrade CAS first.
If u r using load balancer then take out HUB/CAS out upgrdae. Check if everything is ok.
Then go for 2nd HUB/CAS and then mailbox.
Also, you need to upgrade schema for this.
Also, roll back is reinstalling the Exchange. Keep this in mind.
This article is going to help you.

Run the RSRV check for the DSO. It will fail. Correct the error from there it will fix the issue. The template at backend has changed since the older versions.

  • BI 4.1 SP1 to other Service Pack upgrades

    Hi,
Currenlty we are on SAP BI4.1 SP1 since Dec2013. I see that SAP has released SP2 and SP3. My question is when to make the decision of upgrading to higher service packs? Is it necessary to upgrade if the system is running fine with out any issues? Will I be able to upgrade directly from SP1 to a newer version of BI in future (lets say BI 5.0)?
we are using a custom build java UI as the front end and the servers are Windows 2008 R2.
    Thanks!

there is no correct answer that will fit all for this.
If you have no problems at all in your system and not interested in some new functionalities added in Sp3, then you do not need to upgrade.
However, if a problem happens or something is not working as expected you might be asked by SAP to upgrade (if the issue is known to not exist in the newer version)...
It is impossible to say if you'll be able to upgrade directly to BI5 (or whatever new major version name will be).
it is quite possible you'll be able to upgrade directly to BI4.2 or 4.3, but probably not to Bi4.4 (judging on previous releases, direct upgrade was possible within 2 service packs)... but again, we won't know until those releases are available.
