ECC Install

Hello all,
The goal is only to install ECC 6.0 coding (i.e. ECC 6.0 IDES -but - without all of the default data).
I run sapinst from 510335511_8 BS2005 SR3 Installation Master Linux x86 64
Then, I choose: ERP 6.0 Support Release 3 -> SAP Systems -> Oracle -> Central System -> Central System
I choose Custom Configuration
Eventually, I get to: Software Packages : Installation Export 1 ECC60SR3
I have tried pointing to:
51033493 NW 70 SR3 Installation Export AND
51034985 IDES ERP 60 SR3 Inst Export
But it says:
You have to specify a valid location for the selected package SAP:ECC:600SR3:EXPORT (1/11)::* Specify the location that contains the right LABEL.ASC*
What is this talking about?
When it mentions (1/11) in the error message, it seems that there is some kind of default data (like for IDES) being loaded.
This should not be - why are there so many disks?
This was all taken from
SAP Service Marketplace: Installations and Upgrades - Entry by Application Group" -> SAP Application Components" -> SAP *ERP" -> SAP ERP 6.0" -> SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 -> Installation and Upgrade -> Linux -> Oracle *
Anyhelp, hints or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the responses. I looked some more and have started to download the following selection:
SAP ERP 6.0 SR3 Installation Export 1 of 6 51033500_1
The number is 51033500.
I had only pointed to 51034985 IDES ERP 60 SR3 Inst Export out of "desperation" to see if something would actually work :-|
I do not wish to have IDES data on this particular system - only the ECC 6.0 items without all of the default data.
Is what I am downloading now ( SAP ERP 6.0 SR3 Installation Export 1 of 6 51033500_1 ) the correct item to use?
There are 6 items to download - it is going to take some time ....

ECC install on HA - which SAPINST options do I use?

I am attempting to install ECC 6.0 and have a dilemma. When installing ECC 6.0 I have noticed the HA selection in the SAPinst screen. If I plan to use an HA solution that uses HW replication, do I do a normal install and then setup the HA solution afterwords.
I am installing DB/CI on same server and use the HA solution for failover to another server. I also want to install separate enque server.
So do I use the sapinst HA install option or the normal install?

Actually I was able to set this up using her Apple ID for ICloud and for ITunes, and did finally get it to work to prompt me for permissions sp that it would be charged to my account, but in the end I went back to just using her ID for ICloud and mine for ITunes, as I would have to pay for another Match account. That was a deal killer for me with four in my family. I don't want to pay for four Matches.

EP & ECC installing

SRM 7.0 Central Contracts Migration from ECC existing contracts

Hi colleagues
We are facing the implementation of SRM 7.0 in a client who has ECC installed and we have a doubt with contract migration
We are considering using SRM Central Contracts in order to get them replicated on ECC
All the contracts "alive" that exist in ECC should be created on SRM as central Contracts. The problem is that when you create a SRM central contract the system will replicate it to ECC ... in that case we will have the same contract twice on ECC
Does anybody face this situation?
I figure out that if at the moment we are creating SRM central contracts we turn off XI/PI the system would not replicate the contract to ECC but I think it would return an error without creating the contract on SRM... and even if we managed to create the central contracts in SRM without replicating them to ECC we would have the problem that both contracts wouldn´t be linked
We can´t consider the solution to be creating those contracts on SRM as SRM local contracts because we need to follow contract cicle in SRM after migration
Could anybody help me out with these?

Hello,
You can upload contracts from ECC to SRM using report BBP_CONTRACT_INITIAL_UPLOAD in SRM.
If you want take care of document type mappings/ Condition type mappings, use badi BBP_CTR_INIT_UP in SRM.

Sequential read of DD03L table is taking forever during SP install

Hello SDN
I'm applying some SP to my vanilla ECC install with Max DB.
Whenever I apply another set of SP or even SPAM update it inevitable hits a sequential read of table DD03L. And it takes forever to go throught it. It is a 1.5 Gb table.
I updated statistics for the DB in DB50 and applied notes 791984, 1015068 and 1022755 as described in note 822379.
I am running the latest kernel, dw set, tp and r3trans files
I still need to apply the whole Stack 7 and 8 for the whole ECC 6.0 and I'm afraid the table will keep growing.
Has anyone ran into the same issue?
Any suggestions how to make this process faster?

Hey,
The table DD03L is quite large,
however the upgrade should not take forever.
I think you should create a DB trace,
and find the problematic SQL statements,
When you have those long running statements,
you might be able to improve their performance (for example, create an index).

BI Content for use in ECC

Hi,
We have ECC installed in our environment. I see that it also has options for BI under Information Systems. But I see that standard contents which are avaialble is a very small subset of SAP-BI.
Does anyone have any idea on use of BI features built in ECC?

Does this ECC-BI content is complete as in a separate instance? I can do everything or these is limited functionality? I understand that I can install BI_CONTENT using the t-code SAINT.
if there is a small company who does not want to spend more on license, can we use this feature in full? With similar functionality as a separate instance?

R3trans -d gives return code 12, ECC 6.0 on DB2

We have a Ides system ( ECC ) installed on DB2 & suse linux OS , I am not able to start the system today . I found that there is connection error b/w DB2 & SAP. I have not made any changes recently & am not sure why it is showning error today.
Below is error description from trans.log, please help

Did you configure a connection timeout or a receive timeout?
This can be done by the following settings in db2cli.ini ( /usr/sap/SAPSID/SYS/global/db6/db2cli.ini for CLI driver setup ).
ConnectTimeout = #value#
or
ReceiveTimeout = #value#
Also check the DB2 registry for attributes like DB2TCP_CLIENT_RCVTIMEOUT or DB2TCP_CLIENT_CONTIMEOUT .
All those parameters are non standard for an SAP DB2 installation.

ECC Dialog installation heterogeneous systems

We are planning for IPC(internet Pricing and Configurator) for that we need lot's of memory.
Current CI and DB are on the Iseries DB2 but we are planning for Dialog instance to be on Redhat Linux.
Desperate need of help because i didn't work on heterogenoeous enviroment.

Solution Manager install

Hi,
I just wanted to double check with SAP regarding the installation of
Solution Manager 3.2
1. Is there a hard and fast rule that the Sloution Manager needs to be
installed on a server with Fully Qualified domain name.
2. Is it a requirement that Solution Manager needs to be installed on a
seperate server and cannot be installed on a SAP development or
production server or any other system with ECC installed.

Agree with Pascal, you probably should consider install SolMan 4.0 instead of 3.2.
1. Yes, you need make sure to use FQDN everywhere possible. Many notes -- 677118, 434918 has stated on this.
2. You can install SM on the same server with other instance. I just implemented a SolMan 4.0 production instance on one of our BW server. In one SQL Server instance, two separate databases. It seems no problem at all.

Installing Several Systems on One host

Hello
is it possible to install several Systems (both central instance and database instance +j2ee engine run on the same host) on ONE host?
If i want to install the ECC i must install the sap solution manager.
Is it possible to install this system on the same host on which i want to install the ECC?
I guess i will then have an MCOD System, which means that the solution manager and the ECC will reside in the same database or am i wrong?

We installed Database and CI on server A and server B for ECC.Installing again Database instance with seperate oracle software and CI for BW on seever A
for database and server B for CI.I am having problem
when using oracle client software. I did not choose to extract oracle client software for BW -CI in my first attempt since it will over write existing oracle client software in CI for ECC. if choose to extract when installing CI for BW CI for ECC breaks - which i did when installing CI again for BW. Since during my first install CI for BW could not talk to DB for BW.

MCOD install stuck

This is what i was doing...
1) Installed Central instance(Unicode) for ecc 6.0,
2) Started installing Unicode version for the database instance.
3) Failed due to disk space at the database load final step.
3) Fixed failure and restarted sapinst.
4) Accidentally hit the reset button...
5) Restarted install for Non-Unicode accidentally ecc..which obviously failed and nothing seems to have been done as the install log is full of errors about catalog not found.
Question then is....Can i restart the install for the Unicode and will it auto detect the completed steps if i specify the same parameters as in Step 1 ?
Or would i have to drop the schema for the previous install before i restart.......
Or are there any other options as to what can be done to remedy this..?
This is a MCOD install with BW and XI already installed and running fine as instance C12. The ECC install was with instance of PRD !!

Have this exact issue.
Let it run overnight for 8.5 hrs, on the 'Installing OS X' screen with 18-minutes remaining, at 0%, and after that 8.5 hrs, it was still at 18 minutes with about 1% completed. Logging showed that it had checked integrity of the 3TB Apple Fusion drive on the iMac 2012, but found no problems. This was my 4th attempt.
I've created a bootable Yosemite USB drive, and it booted to a O with a slash through it, in middle of screen. Tried three other 8GB USB 2.0 and 3.0 flash drives, with all of the same results.
So now, after having Time Machine AND manually backed-up Documents, Desktop, Pictures, Movies, Music -- I've performed a OPT-CMD-R (internet recovery), formatted the Fusion drive, recovered OS to Mountain Lion (arghhh!), and decided to not restore data from my TM backup. Didn't want to restore whatever it was having issues with. On boot-up of Mountain Lion, entered basics to get to desktop, went straight to App Store, re-downloaded Yosemite, launched from Applications, rebooted, and it went to same 18-minutes progress window. LOL. Just about had a fit. But, within a few minutes, it started to count down and progress up! (btw, Recovery boot with Disk Utilities, Repair Disk on Macintosh HD, never found problems with the Fusion drive.) However, for some odd reason, Format/Clean-install from Internet Recovery to Mt. Lion and then 10.10 was the only way I could get this new OS on this iMac 2012 27-inch i7 32GB RAM, 680MX. Yosemite install on my 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2011 was a breeze - why on Earth did Yosemite barf on my 2012 - the Fusion drive? Will be a fracking pain to manually restore my music, pictures, movies, apps, docs, etc etc.

Requesting MII 12.x for a development environment landscape recommendation.

I have recently deployed a fresh ECC6 EHP5 system for development, we would like to explore using MII along with it but we are an ABAP shop. Since SAP no longer supports dual stack and we went with ABAP what are my options?
Can I have a separate install of EHP1 FOR SAP NW CE 7.1 ( Java Application Server ) on the same box or does that have to go on a different server?

Report Designer question

Hi,
We have problem creating queries in Report Designer
Our project has BI 7.0, Enterprise Portal, PI and ECC installed on different servers by NetWeaver team. When we open the Report Designer from the START->Business Explorer->Report Designer, we get the initial screen of Report Designer. But we cant create any queries and getting some Java connection communication issues.
Do we need to have Java Stack on BI 7.0 to use the report designer? My understanding is that when we go for BI 7.0 , Enterprise Portal is delivered by SAP as a package. Here in our project we have EP installed but still could not able to create the reports on Report Designer.
Any help resolving this issue is appreciated.

Are you getting RFC error, if so please refer SAP note 917950 .
or You can test the RFC connection in SM59.
If the connection is very slow better restart the Java Engine (J2EE)
