ECC SAP TM integration (Is really XI needed)

Hi,
I just started working on TM and I´m confused with the integration between ECC and TM.
I read that from version 6.0 we can integrate via IDOC or services.
We are planning to use a different integration platform, so, I believe that with the services from ESR (Integration of Transportation Management System ES bundle) should be enough.
Can anyone confirm that?

I am not sure whether my answer is userful to you or not as your question is not very much clear to me.
DELVRY03 is the Idoc type which can be used to transfer the Delivery from SAP ERP system.
SHPMNT05 idoc type can be used to transfer the Shipment for the tendering purpose from the SAP ERP System.
Using above Idoc, data can be transferred from ERP to TMS with out using SAP XI system.
Hope this will help you to reach the solution else pls provide the clear picture about your problem.

As you mentioned you are looking for ECC to PI integration.. let me provide you few basic things..
SAP PI is a middleware and used for SAP to SAP ot SAP non-SAP integration..as you said you have installed ECC and PI.. that means you got ECC system as Sender or Receiver system and PI as middleware integration tool.
let me provide few more basic details..
through PI we can connect to Database by using JDBC adapter
we can connect to FTP by using File adapter
or to some other SAP system by using RFC and IDOC adapter
or some JMS queue by using JMS adapter.. and so on.. so as beginner I will suggest you to start with basic scenario which is File to IDOC ot File to RFC or IDOC to File or RFC to File..
As you now have ECC you can have IDOC and RFC adapter and the only thing you need is installed FTP and start with basic scenarios as mentioned above..
now for steps by step procedures and all you can search SDN and there are many weblogs, articles step by step guides available.. so use it..

ECC 6.0 integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Hi All
I am working on a ECC 6.0 integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM. I need to send the customer master data, va01/va02, vl01n/vl02n/ vf01/vf02 to CRM system. One option I have is to send in the form of IDOC with TRFC - TCP/IP. But looks like this needs a middleware like Biztalk.
Is there a way I can send this data using a Internet service in ECC 6.0 ??? As this would cut the cost of the Biztalk.
I really appriciate your thoughts on this. We don't have XI either.

We have just implemented integarion of SAP with Microsoft stack (Microsoft CRM, Share point and Axapta), But in all integration BizTalk as a middleware used.
There is two way requirements :
1. whenever Most of the control are at the Microsoft level like : Customer creation, Creation of orders, which need to be synchronus activity we have used RFC which internally calls BAPI. (So SAP adapter Configured at BizTalk). and whenever Biztalk receives request file from CRM or share point to there location they call SAP RFC's.
2. When DATA is needed from SAP to microsoft stack like to syncronize the missing transaction like customer pad and all.
Scheduled job at BizTalk end which call SAP to get the DATA via RFC mode :
In SAP we have two things
1. if DATA size is small (below 2 MB) like in last 1 hrs what are the sales contract created in SAP that need to updated in Microsoft other system than Biztalk will trigger a job at 1 hr interval or on deemand to get the detail which directly we pick from data base or using BAPI to get the detail via RFC.
2. If Data Size is large (more than 2 MB) like total transation happened in a day for all customers: then we wriiting the data in OS or application server and that job also get initiated from Biztalk end by sending any parameter to SAP.
advantage of using BizTalk is most of the control you can give it to them so they can run there job on deemand basis.
There is a something known as web service we can use to avoid Interfacing tool, but I dont have much Idea about that,
and please check how many interfacing point is there with SAP in your project, because if Interfacing points are more then I think it is not good to write a web services for so many things.

SAP Portal Integration with InfoView

Hi Experts,
I have successfully configured SAP Portal Integration with InfoView using the following steps provided by Ingo:
- set the system that you want to be authenticated against as the DEFAULT system in the options of the SAP authentication.
- go to the webapps folder of your app server and navigate to the InfOView folder
For the Java version of InfoView (Windows environment) you need to edit the file web.xml, which is located (assuming Tomcat as application server) in the directory \Program Files\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\WEB-INF for the actual deployment.
In addition you can make the change to the file in the folder <INSTALLDIR>\BusinessObjects Enterprise12.0\warfiles\WebApps\InfoViewApp\WEB-INF. The files in the second locations are being used when you redeploy the web applications with a tool like wdeploy. You need to change the following values
authentication.default = secSAPR3
siteminder.enabled = False
sso.enabled = True
Then I have created URLiView to InfoView login page, when the user click on the link, BOBJ will use the DEFAULT system to authenticate user.
However, there is a new requirement for users who exist in another SAP system to SSO into InfoView too. My question is whether we can specify in URLiView url or other configuration to select which SAP System to authenticate user on?
I would like to create Role A and Role B in Portal and each will display different URLiView that will authenticate user against different SAP System if possible.

We are trying to create an URLiView to the logon page of InfoView: http://<BOBJ Server>/InfoViewApp/logon.jsp that will bring the user to InfoView home if SSO passed instead of OpenDocument URL.
I have tried to add URL parameters to the URLiView (http://<BOBJ Server>//InfoViewApp/logon.jsp?SAP_SYSID=DCD&SAP_CLIENT=200), but InfoView is still using the default system in CMC to authenticate user.
Please advise.

I had developed and deployed the SAP PS - Primavera Interface in one of my projects. We had developed it using an ABAP program. I hope i answer all your questions to your satisfaction.
1. what are the Prerequisites?
I dont think there is any need for some major prerequisites other than the version of the Primavera software you are using. In our case we had used Primavera version P6. Find out from your business owner as to what all data he needs to upload or download using this interface. You can modify your ABAP program likewise.
2. How it works - means how data will get transferred from primaver to SAP?
a) The data between project structures will be mapped one to one basis. Ex. Project in SAP PS is mapped to Project in Primavera, WBS Elements in SAP PS will be mapped to WBS in Primavera, and Activity data in SAP PS is mapped as Activities in Primavera.
b) Frequency of data transfer will be weekly or Monthly. Every time data is exported from SAP PS to Primavera, new project will be created in Primavera.
c) Data will be transferred from SAP PS to Primavera in Batch mode and with manual intervention.
d) Data will be transferred from SAP PS in Comma Separated (.CSV) File format.
e) Primavera users will access MS-Excel interface to import data from CSV file in Primavera. MS-Excel will have a Macro written in Visual Basic Application (VBA) which will be initiated by user for data transfer.
f) Primavera Software Development Kit (SDK) will be used for transferring data in Primavera.

I may not be able to comment on the cost part since this interface was internally developed by our team. This interface is successfully being used by our organization as a reusable component in various projects, thus reducing the efforts considerably.

SAP Jam Integration with Cloud For Customer error

My example in the document deals with User ID as key_identifier.
ie., we need a unique key which is common to both servers so that we can identify accounts. This is done through assertion attribute exchange.
For eg, if I have an account with userID vatsav in C4C, then I must have an account with same userID in JAM (or vice versa) provided I set UserID for "Account Name Origin" in Step 10.
Doing this way, I am telling JAM that I am using UserID as an assertion attribute which identifies both my accounts in C4c and JAM without any problem. When you login into C4C using vatsav as UserID, it automatically searches feeds for same userID in JAM and displays them in Mashup.
It's a big concept actually. Implementation's already done by SAP.

ActiveDirectory - SAP IDM integration in Identity Life cycle Management

In our landscape SAP HCM is supposed to be the leading data source and SAP IDM takes identity information from SAP HCM. From SAP IDM it will provision into Active directory and other third party systems, Sap systems.
Here are the questions
1) How can we leverage on the investment on Active directory after SAP IDM -Active directory investment ? I mean after SAP IDM comes to a landscape, Active directory will only be used to login to domain and for authentication if for java system Active directory have been set as user data source. What are the other advantages of Active directory- SAP IDM integration as Active directory will not be leading data source and identity information will be in identity store.?
2) After the user details are taken from SAP HCM system, will the user record will be created in SAP IDM on Identity store ? Is it where we actually assign the SAP IDM business role and the related technical role to the user?
3) Suppose if we assign a business role " employee " , will IDM actually create user id in all target system and assign all the technical roles? . Or we have to manually select each repository for target system in Identity center and select the privileges and provision it ? Will there be any automated feature that after assigning the business role to identity in identity store users and roles get automatically provisioned on all the target systems?

Only change we have is before approval it should go to GRC AC check all the compliance and only after that it is approved and it should come back to SAP IDM .
I am actually looking for a tutorial which actually shows how you assign a business role and the whole procedure of SAP IDM automatically provisioning to target systems which you have just explained. I suppose there is no such exact tutorial and I want to know how we can configure this on SAP IDM . Any specific clues?
Also I am describing the exact steps that will follow . Correct me if I am wrong.
1) User id will be created on AD with same user name and password as it is in Identity store. Will be assigned AD groups
2) Create same user in Portal and make the user data source as AD and will assign the technical role portal as per the business role definition
3) create same user in all abap systems and set abap database as user data source and assign the technical role needed as per the business role definition
4) Create same user in third party systems and with the privileges on their target systems as per the business role definition.
With this provisioning stops. I suppose all the above steps will be automatically done by SAP IDM with no manual interaction required after final approval. Correct me if I am wrong.
So some other information i wanted is
1) When you assign business role at work flow, how exactly SAP IDM know about the target systems that user should be created and assigned roles and made their authentication source.
for eg:- for a business role "employee" should get access to ERP with role X, AD with group Y, Portal with role Z. So in work flow when business role employee is assigned how SAP IDM will know that user should be created on to ERP with role X, AD with group Y, Portal with role Z. Can you explain technically along with detail steps? Or how exactly we configure a business role which knows the target systems and their techical roles.

Let me answer the last question first. As far as i know there is no institute in India that can provide you training on SAP-Primavera integration. Now, coming to the second question.. There are a lot of benefits of integrating Primavera with SAP. I will list down one example,
There are some projects wherein you will be implementing SAP for one of your clients. Assume that the client was using Primavera before implementing SAP and all the reports were generated through Primavera. Sometimes there is a requirement that the clients customers would want all the reports from Primavera and not from SAP. In this case, generally, Primavera is integrated with SAP. We had a similar requirement in one of the projects we implemented.
I think there wont be any need for any training for achieving this integration. You get some readymade interfaces in the market like Pipeline, Inspire etc... If you can wotrk along with your ABAP person you can easily get it done. In case you have any further queries please revert.

First of all - answers to the questions above higly depend on the particular Vendavo implemenation project.
Q1:Is there any special condition types for Vendavo pricng in SAP?
Integration can be inbound / outbound. Vendavo will only use/map condition types that are required for the pricing - therefore depends on the particular implementation. Typically for outbound integration (from POV of Vendavo), subset of pricing procedure condition types is mapped and sent from from Vendavo.
Q2:Which SAP Pricing table are mapped with Vendavo?

There are some components that can be installed in SAP in order to implement some additional features. Depends on the features.

OIM and SAP-EP Integration

Hi,
I am trying to integrate
OIM 9.0.3 with SAP. As per the connector document it says
To copy the following files from - OIM_home/xellerate directory to SAP directory.
prtapi.jar
prtconnection.jar
prtcoreservice.jar
prtdeploymentapi.jar
prtjsp_api.jar
prttest.jar
But I am not finding this files in the OIM installation. Can you please correct me if I am missing anything here.

Yes, these files are not present in OIM, the docs are wrong. But check on SAP EP (I had seen on SAP EP 6) and you will find these files on SAP side, so it really does not make a difference.
Last time I tried this and could not get provisioning to work. I guess it is got to do with the sapum.properties file. The docs mention that only the DB section of the file needs modifying, but it does not help, lots of exceptions..
Do let me / the forum know if you are able to provision users without issues.

IDM-SAP CUA Integration

I have been under the impression that instead of creating accounts on each SAP child systems (SAP ECC, SAP Portal, SAP BI etc), we can create the accounts in SAP CUA using IdM and then provide information to SAP CUA such that it does further provisoining on SAP child systems
Is this possible ?
So, far I have not been able to create such account. I am successful in creating accounts in SAP CUA, however, no matter which attribute I use (cuasystems, activityGroups etc) to represent a list of SAP child systems to be passed to SAP CUA to create account, it does not work.
I am definitely out of ideas and looking for some help.

I think there is a setting on the SAP CUA system and the child systems that needs to be set correctly.
We have an environment where we provision a user to CUA and assign the user roles (direct activity groups) that map to BI and ECC.
CUA then uses those roles and the systems they map to in order to provision to those child systems.
Check your SAP configuration, because this worked fine for us. One thing to note, is that changing an existing user's password in CUA will NOT replicate to child systems. So you may have to manage those child systems directly to change passwords.
