ECC SR2 install with SWPM

Hi,
We are running SAP ECC 6.0 SR2 system as non-unicode. Now we need to install this system on new server with OS- MS Windows Server 2012 and DB as MS SQL Server 2012. Can we use SWPM to install ECC 6.0 SR2 system. We can not install our system as SR3 using SWPM because ECC SR 3 is unicode installation.

Hi Lucifer,
What i suggest you is install the SAP in the new server as per your requirement (non-Unicode to non-Unicode) then change form non-Unicode to Unicode.
As the reason is if you restore the data at that time there is a change of loosing your valuable data.
This is actually 2 requirements that could the best thing and less amount of risk involved.

I am doing a NW 2004s SR2 install with AS-Java, EP-Core and EP Usage Types. My environment is AIX 5.3 with Oracle as the Database. I have ran the pre-requisite checker tool and everything ran fine. Now when I run SAPInst and after the screen where you specify JCE file location, SAPInst hangs with the message "Collecting Information about Installed SAP Systems" I have tried many times and SAPInst always hangs at this very location.
Your help in getting me past this point in install is highly appreciated.

maybe you unzipped the JCE file, and SAPinst hang after that.
You must not unzip the file.
Can you give us system specs?
What version of j2sdk are you using?

ECC SR2 Fresh INstall Login Problems...

Hello Guys,
I installed Fresh ECC SR2 in my PC, and in Client Details (SCC4) found 4 clients already there...
800 - IDES-ALE: Central
810 - IDES-ALE: Sales
811 - IDES-ALE: Production
812 - IDES-ALE: Warehouse
How do i login to these cleints? the sap* and master password does not work....
In ecc 5.0 i remember creating a 800 client for training...
Please give me some steps to get this working.. Thanks... The Books ADM110 does not say much about creating clients and users.. Do you create a new client from 000 or 001 ?

You have to reset SAP* password in client 800, follow the below procedure
1:Login as ora<SID>
2:sqlplus u201C/as sysdbau201D
3:delete SAPR3. USR02 where BNAME = 'SAP*' and MANDT='000';
4:commit;
Now bounce your SAP system so that changes will take effect.
Note:In place of SAPR3 give your schema id of your database
In place of 000 give your client number that is 800
To know your schema id login as ora<SID>, execute this command:
env | grep schema (this apply for only HPUX, not windows)
then login to 800 client with SAP* and password as PASS

If you are still unable to login to sap check the parameter of
login/no_automatic_user_sapstar in default profile or instance profile if the value is 1 then change it to 0 and bounce your system.let me know if you have any concerns

Material warranty in ECC 6.0 with EHP 4

Till previously, warranty is limited to equipment and FLOC but with EHP 4 material warranty is also included. This I heard from SAP trainer. If any body worked in ECC 6.0 with EHP 4 has this feature, please let me know how it works and send any links to doc. Our requirement is like this. We are using Fleet management and some parts of the Fleet are under warranty. Parts are coded as Material. There are other ways to address the issue using enhancements. i would like to know if this issues is addressed in EHP 4.

Hi Denis,
You can install EHP7 for ECC6. You should 1st check Service Market place for PAM(product availability matrix) for combinations of DB and OS. You should understand your usage type and learn more about SWP/SUM/740 kernel/System Preparations and other knows prerequisites

ECC 6.0 with EHP4 fresh Installation

Hello Gurus,
A fresh ECC 6.0 with EHP4 needs to be installed on Wnidows + Oracle Platform, please let me know which of the following path should be followed?
1. SAP NW 7.0 installation (without EHP1) --> EHP 1 installation --> EHP4 Installation
2. SAP NW 7.0 with EHP1 installation --> EHP4 installtion
3. SAP NW 7.0 installation --> EHP4 installation
The other way to ask this questions is what are the dependencies between NW7.0 (ECC 6), EHP1 and EHP4?
Please let me know which of the above options is feasible and recommended. Please let me know a better option if its not present in the above options.

Goto Service Market place and goto download page. Then click on Search for Installations and Upgrades under Installations and Upgrades.
In the search tab fill with EA-RET.

UPGRADE ECC 6.0 with AFS 6.3 from R/3 4.7

We are now preparing the upgrade of our R/3 server to ECC 6.0 with
AFS . As per the plan and SAP guide for upgrade we started the prepare
phase with upgrade master for ERP 6.0 . But in the initial stage i saw
the page of prepare it showing all the induatry specific components
like ECC DIMP ,IS_OIL etc . But we want to use AFS 6.3 . So if i
continue the installation all the industry specific addon installed .
So why because of the conflict iam should not apply AFS into our
server .
So kindly tell me how can i remove ECC DIMP like industry components
from the prepare phase .

What is the implementation strategy for SAP Business Suite?
With the unrestricted shipment of enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0, only implementations within standalone installations of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 are supported (e.g. for BI, EP, etc.).
For existing installations of SAP Business Suite systems (i.e. SAP ERP 6.0, SAP CRM/SRM/PLM, ...) etc.) that are based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0, the SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 shall not be installed separately, as it will result in malfunctioning of the installation procedure and/or the final system state.
Business Suite 7 (generally available since May 5th, 2009) is technically based on the SAP enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0. All relevant parts of enhancement package 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 are included in the respective SAP Business Suite 7 installation routines and will be installed automatically underneath the SAP Business Suite systems when an upgrade to SAP Business Suite 7 is performed. ECC 6.0 with Oracle

I have IDES ECC 6.0 with Oracle database Installed. Now the disk space is full. I want to take the backup of the database files / Archive files and delete the same to get quite free space.
Please let me know what all the files I need to take the back up so as to delete it once done.

DO NOT DELETE DATAFILES... It will indeed give you space back but your DB will become unusable...!
If you're out of space you're better of getting some extra disk space.

In particular, I am analyzing the example "Even Angle Reference Signal Processing (Digital Tacho, DAQmx).vi", whose documentation I am reproducing in the following:
DESCRIPTIONS:
This VI demonstrates how to extract even angle reference signals and remove the slow-roll errors. It uses DAQmx VIs to acquire sound or vibration signals and a digital tachometer signal. This VI includes a two-step process: acquire data at low rotational speed to extract even angle reference; use the even angle reference to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Run the VI.
2. On the DAQ Configurations tab, specify the sample rate, samples per channel, device and channel configurations, and tachometer channel information.
NOTE: You need to use DSA PXI-447x/PXI-446x and PXI TIO device in a PXI chassis to run this example. The DSA device must be in slot 2 of the PXI chassis.
3. Switch to Extract Even Angle Reference tab. Specify the number of samples to acquire and the # of revs in reference which determines the number of samples in even angle reference. Click Start to take a one-shot data acquisition of the vibration and tachometer signals. After the acquisition, you can see the extracted even angle references in Even Angle Reference.
4. Switch to the Remove Slow-roll Errors tab. Click Start to acquire data continuously and view the compensate results. Click Stop in this tab to stop the acquisition.
ORDER ANALYSIS VIs USED IN THIS EXAMPLE:
1. SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi
2. OAT Digital Tacho Process.vi
3. OAT Get Even Angle Reference.vi
4. OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi
5. OAT Compensate Even Angle Signal.vi
My question is: How is the synchronization produced at the time of the compensation ? How is it possible to eliminate the errors in a synchronized fashion with respect to the surface of the shaft bearing in mind that I am acquired data at a low rotation speed in order to get the "even angle reference" and then I use it to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation. In this application both operations are made in different acquisitions, therefore the reference of the correction signal is lost. Is it simply compensated without synchronizing ?
Our application is based on FPGA and we need to clarity those aspects before implementing the procedure.

Windows XP 64 bit pro clean install with RAID

Can anyone help out???
I recently purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad W700 with the raid system (raid1) it had Vista Business pre installed but I wasn't impressed so I've cleared VB out and tried to install XP 64 pro I have followed the guide I found on this site http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=188992
which was very informative but didnt seem to include any details on a raid installation. If I change my BIOS Serial ata (sata) to compatibility I can install win xp and get it running but no raid!! if I try to install the Intel chipset driver it reports it cannot install!! If I set the Bios Serial ATA to RAID the setup goes so far through then I get the BSOD
I seems to me I need some raid drivers but have no way of installing them during setup (I dont have the drivers anyway!!)
Sooooo...........can anyone out there point me in the right direction for a clean xp pro install with raid?? theres a couple of beers in it!!

I believe you need to install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver for Windows XP, Vista (32bit) - ThinkPad. Installation instructions are on the same site. If you don't have a floppy you can streamline them onto an install disk.

CPU Overheating problem on Windows 8.1 Pro (installed with BootCamp)

There is a really important overheating problem on windows 8.1 (installed with bootcamp) even i do nothing Cpu is 50-60-70 Celcius degrees. This is really annoying problem. Most of users necessarily need windows OS for using third part programs that doesnt exist on OS X platform. I think this problem is important and has to be fixed as soon as possible.
My brand new Mac:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014)

Run the cleaner tool and reinstall with sufficient user privileges and security stuff turned off. Your install went wrong because you didn't consider this.
