ECC5 New Transactions

Hello,
A couple of years ago, we set up VIRSA rules for critical transactions.  The auditors are now asking if we can provide a list of new transactions that have been added to SAP since the VIRSA rules were created.
I have spent several minutes looking over the Security forum trying to find out how to obtain a list of new transactions that are delivered with an upgrade, support packs, etc.  I have not been able to find this information.
I saw several references to SU25 and table USOBT_C, but these only show transactions that were "changed" during a time period.  Is there a way to find out what "new" transactions exist?
Thank you and regards,
Janice Derting

Janice,
I apologyze I should have read the question better.  Here is something I would try and let me know if it works.
Virsa has table /VIRSA/ZCTRAN - which is the critical transactions table that is in Virsa.  This table should be in the ECC environment that you monitor.  ECC should have table AGR_TCODES which should contain a list of all of your TCODES.  I would extract both of these tables and just run a comparison of TCODES that do not match and you will have a list of TCODES that are not in Virsa.  One issue with this not all of those TCODES will be critical, but you will have a list of TCODES that are not in Virsa.  Let me know your thoughts, I have been trying to do this myself.

  • How to Use No DB connection App with task flow desined as 'New Transaction'

    Hi,
    My application is fully depend on Custom java datasource implmentation and it requires no DB connection at all. I've done necessary implementation (http://andrejusb.blogspot.in/2012/03/use-case-for-adf-bc-with-no-database.html) by creating CustomDatabaseConnectionStrategy that says
        @Override
        public ApplicationModule createApplicationModule(Hashtable env) {
          env.put(Configuration.DB_REQUIRES_CONNECTION,Boolean.FALSE);
          env.put(PropertyMetadata.ENV_DO_FAILOVER.pName, PropertyConstants.FALSE);
          return super.createApplicationModule(env);
        }My application works fine until i keep my task flow transaction as 'No Controller transaction'. Yes, I use Dynamic tab shell template as UI. But when I keep it as 'Always Begin with New Transaction' and not to share the Data control, Screen is not at all getting rendered. I get some exception (I guess the moment I try to open the task flow, it is trying to get the connection. Since there is no connection available, It gives me this error. Is it so?)
    One of my client requirement is to open the same screen under multiple tabs as a fresh screen (i.e. with different transaction. We do transaction through tuxedo transaction server). If I load a screen under first Tab with some data, added some record, deleted some record.. and If I load the same screen under another Tab, it should not refelect the same data whatever I have under first Tab.
    Requirement:
    I don't have DB connection in my app. But I should be able to define the task-flow to open with new instance of Application module whenever it is opened.
    Your help on this would be appreciated.
    Raghu

    If I understand you requirements correctly, you do not need ADF taskflow transactions but you just need fresh DataControls. If it is so, then you do not have to set the taskflow's transaction behaviour to "Always Begin with New Transaction" (e.g. keep it to "No Controller Transaction"), but set the DataControl frame to "isolated" (e.g. uncheck the "Share data controls with the calling task flow" checkbox in the taskflow's Property Inspector). In this way each taskflow instance will be started in a different DataControl frame (e.g. it will instantiate its own set of ApplicationModule instances).

  • How to create a new transaction and add it to Area Menu

    Hi.
    I have to create a report and run the report using the Tcode and Tcode has to be added in the Area Menu at the initial screen.
    Please tell me how can i do that.
    Thank you in advance

    You can add additional menu transaction in the SAP main menu without affecting the original SAP default area menu S000.
    For example, you have created a transaction code called ( z123 - ABC Own Report ) and you want to insert it under Logistics.  The specific user will be able to access ABC Own Report by clicking Logistics -> ABC Own Report.
    Steps :-
    Goto Transaction SE43 - Area Menu
    Click the copy button.  Copy from S000 to ZXXX
    After copying, click Change (area menu ZXXX)
    Double click on Logistics and add in your transaction code in the AreaMenu.
    Remembers to Activate it.
    Next Goto Transaction SU01 - Maintain users
    Type in the user name and click the Defaults button
    Type in the area menu (ZXXX) in the Start Menu field.
    Click Save
    The user will be able to see the additional transaction on the next logon.
    The CUA area menus are converted to tree navigation in Release 4.6A. The menu contents are automatically copied into a new data structure in Upgrade to Release 4.6A or higher. You can edit Area Menus with a new maintenance interface (Area Menu maintenance transaction: SE43 ).
    Reporting Tree Integration - Only transactions could previously be put in Area Menus. From Release 4.6A you can also put all the types of reports which are in reporting trees, in Area Menus. The system automatically assigns a transaction code to call the report from the menu. If you have already put the report in another Area Menu, no new transaction code is generated, the unique transaction code already assigned is used.
    You can create Area Menus from complete reporting trees with the migration transaction RTTREE_MIGRATION . The report transaction codes are generated automatically.
    Reporting trees can only be displayed. They cannot be maintained. To modify the contents of reporting trees, you must convert them with the migration transaction. You can then modify the contents with the Area Menu maintenance.

  • ** Create New Transaction Check Box in BPM

    Hi Friends,
    I have ticked the check box 'Create New Transaction' for every step in BPM. In Block I have mentioned 'Block Start' & 'Block End' property as 'New Transaction'.
    I have gone through SAP Help Transactional Behaviour of BPM. Somewhere it is mentioned by check this to increase system performance, database hit time will be reduced. Somewhere 'No New Transaction' is recommened.
    I am confusing on this.
    Could you kindly help me to understand this clearly ? (Like, what is the advantage of 'Create new Transaction'?, If untick what will happen ? ...)
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    it depends on how you decide to use the property.
    in help it mentions;
    Transactional Behavior for Specific Step Types
    At runtime, the system normally creates a separate transaction for each step. The transaction then covers this step only. However, you can influence the transactional behavior of particular step types. In the step properties, you can define that the system is not to start a new transaction when the step is executed. The system then executes the step in the transaction that was started at the time of execution. Consequently, no background work item is created for the step and the database does not need to be accessed. In this way you can improve system performance.
    by defining to not use a new transaction at the right place you can improve performance.
    It also depends on step types. For example in case of a sync send this is what help says;
    No New Transaction: You can expect better system performance if the system does not create a new transaction for the send step. However, only select this setting if by repeating the send step the result is not changed (idempotency). This is the case, for example, with lookup operations.
    Note
    If you have selected this setting and an error occurs, synchronous sending can also cause problems in the pipeline and the receiver system following the rollback. Messages with an error status can also remain in the pipeline.
    New Transaction: If the result is changed when the step is repeated, choose Create New Transaction. Otherwise the following error situation can occur: The system successfully executes a synchronous send step but an error occurs in the subsequent step. The system rolls back processing and executes all steps in the transaction - including the send step - again. If the send step results in a write-to operation in the receiver system, for example, creating a purchase order, this is also repeated. This can result in semantic errors.
    Mainly transaction processing helps to have a roll back implemented.

  • HOW to create new transaction code in SAP

    Dear All
    Thanking you for your cooperation
    Pls help,
    how to create a new transaction code and link with the process??????????
    Thanking you

    Hi
    you can crete Transaction code in Transaction SE93.
    To create a transaction code:
    Enter a transaction code (up to 20 characters).
    Choose Create.
    A dialog box appears. Enter a short text and choose the transaction type.
    The transaction type can be as follows:
    Dialog Transactions
    Report Transactions
    Object-Oriented Transactions
    Variant Transactions
    Parameter Transactions
    In a report transaction, you use a transaction code to start an executable program (type 1). An executable program usually has three steps - data entry (selection screen), data processing (often using a logical database ), and data output (list).
    To create a report transaction, use the Transaction Maintenance transaction (SE93). Once you have entered a transaction code and short description, choose transaction type Program and selection screen (report transaction).
    When you define a report transaction, you can specify the selection screen and variant with which you want it to start.
    You can also protect the report transaction against unauthorized use. To do this, enter the name of an authorization object in the corresponding field.
    Dialog Transactions
    In a dialog transaction, the flow of the program is determined by a sequence of screens. The screens that are called within a transaction should belong to a single ABAP program, usually a module pool (type M program).
    To create a dialog transaction, use the Transaction Maintenance transaction (SE93). Once you have entered a transaction code and short description, choose transaction type Program and screen (dialog transaction).
    You can create transaction codes for Custom query;s created using SQVI also

  • Create new transaction (Business Activity) and assigned to user Problem

    Dear sir,
    We already have the business activity with in T-code : CIC0, The transaction is  ZACT1 and assigned to user group1 .  It's working fine. However when I copy something from transaction ZACT1 and create to be T-code : ZACT2 . and assigned user group2.  There is the problem that when log on to CIC0 . It is the authorization from for transaction ZACT1.  WHen I go to su53
    it need to have the authoriazaiton on Business transaction type: ZACT1
    Please kindly advise.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Vimol

    When you create new transaction variant, original transaction remains as it is. During creation of transaction variant, when you go to one by one screen, screen variants are created. It uses variant name and can be see on each screen on the top.
    Once you complete trasnaction, you start using this transaction variant instead of original transaction. In SHD0, there is button on the top 'assign screen variants' which allows you to assign all screen variants created above. You can refer help file which i think has procedure to do this.

  • Question: No transaction type listed during creation new transaction

    Per below screen, when I try to create a new transaction via CRMD_ORDER, but it seems blank on the type list..
    Any advice what is the issue about, thanks.

    Hi Peter ,
    The new transaction type should be created first via spro settings and the same can be added in CRMD_ORDER transaction via navigating to settings and " Specfic" tab maintaining the newly created transaction type .Once done the button is available for the newly added transaction type and the transaction can now be created .
    Also make sure in the customising while defining the transaction type it should not be set to inactive (falg should not be marked ) along with this the channel  - "GUI  CRM Webclient UI "should be mainatined for the transaction type in customising so that the same is availble in CRMD_ORDER .
    Hope this will help .

  • Swing ADF - New transaction in a java panel.

    How can I create a new ADF Transaction (session/unit of work/ independant dataset) within a panel?
    I have two issues that I'm trying to resolve:
    1) I already have a framework that I need to use, so I cannot use the defaultly created ADF JFrames or InternalFrames. I need all the plumbing (both single window/panel and multi-window/panel views) to exist in panels so they can be properly embedded into the existing framework. I'm not sure how to seperate the frame from the ADF logic or how to start from an empty class and add the needed plumbing.
    2) I need a new panel to be created under a tabset when the user initiates an action. This by itself is simple enough, the issue is in dynamically creating a new transaction per tab that is created so that each tab can be committed/rollbacked independently. The user may hop around between tabs and open/close them in random orders.
    Thank you of any help and insight you can offer,

  • How best 2 use Shared AM in taskflow -new transaction/isolated data control

    Hi all
    I have nearly 800 screens in my app (under 20 or so different AMs), in which I access some Common VOs to work with by applying filtering (on Secondary Rowset, on Default Rowset using View criteria) on that, Used as View Accessor VO (List of Values) & Sorting. These common VOs are not DB driven but custom java datasource implemented and once it is loaded with data, data will not change. I use Dynamic tab shell to load the screens as separate task-flows. These task-flows are defined to be opened with New Tansaction/Isolated Datacontrol. Right now these Common VOs are shuttled in a default scoped AM (Say 'LookupAM') and attached the same as nested AM for the other AMs.
    With the above design, the current behavior is whenever I load a task-flow in Dynamic tab shell, it creates a fresh instance for Shreen AM as well as LookUpAM (I tested by including println inside prepareSession() API of AM Implementation class).
    I feel I'll get benefitted in terms of memory saving/performance when I use only one instance of LookupAM for all the screens. I prepared a sample app that mimic our actual application, but made the LookupAM to be a Application scoped shared AM (lets say SharedLookupAM). I've also made all the LOV View accessors comes from this Shared AM. When I run this sample, the behavior is every time I load the task-flow, still the framework creates Am instance for both screen AM and SharedLookupAM! Why so?
    Question:
    1. Considering my application design (i.e. consuming Shared AM instance from inside the task-flow which are desinged to be opened with new transaction/isolated datacontrol), will I get benefitted in any way If i use Shared AM. If so, what are all the possible type of usages of shared AM for my design?
    2. Why framework creates instance of Shared AM everytime I load the task-flow. Does it meant task-flow settings takes the precedence over the Shared AM configuration and it overrides that?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

    Isolated data control settings are the most expensive settings you can have in ADF. They should be used only if the requirement for the task flow is to be atomic in that it can be committed or rolled back independently. If this is not the case for your use cases, then using shared data control is a better option to use. Note that my expectation to application scope AM is that the AM instance is created per user but that the data cache is only queried once.
    +2. Why framework creates instance of Shared AM everytime I load the task-flow. Does it meant task-flow settings takes the precedence over the Shared AM configuration and it overrides that?+
    Well, you tell it to do so. With the setting of isolated to the Data Control you explicitly tell it to open a new transaction in which case a new instance is created.

  • How to define an new New transaction type in SRM Environment?

    Hi All,
    There is a situation where in I have to add anew transaction type and link it to the existing process.
    If I am going to
    SPRO->SRM->SRM Server -> Cross appl.Basic Setting ->
    Define transaction type
    It gives me an un editable screen.
    My question is how to define a new transaction type here
    Kindly Let me know if there is any way to do it through ABAP .
    Thanks And Regards,

    When you have gone through the path you describe you end up with a screen with a line for "define transaction types". To the left of the line are two icons - one to execute the function (the execute icon) and one with documentation (the text icon). Click on the documentation icon.
