ECC6 SR3 on 32bit
Hi,
Is it advisable to install ECC6 SR3 on Windows 2003 Server 32 bit version.
Awaiting reply.
There is no work arround if you don't have 64bit Hardware then you go for ECC 6.0 SR2.
If you want to use ECC6.0 SR3 then you have to go for X64bit or IA64bit Hardware.
Regards,
Nikunj Thaker.

SAP ECC6 sr3 upgrade error in executing MSSCONCHECK.SQL script
Hello all,
I am facing this error which is very annoying , I am executing Prepare Upgrade script for ECC6 SR3 from SAP 4.7 Sr2 with windows 2003 server and MSSQL 2005 server as backend. I am facing below error

I have done a number of changes in system i checked the SIDadm user is assigned a default DB T47 and has said role assigned allready.
I restarted the system after changes and started the prepare batch file again but with sme probelm again. so can anybody guide me on this. I seen a number of threads but there is no any concrete solution providedby them.
will really appreciate any reply.
ManiHello Julia,
i read those note but everything seems normal to me on my PC; it has remote access enabled, t47vmhost2/t47adm is the user configured (although its not a domain configuration (installation) but t47vmhost2 is the computer name. So its kind of local user defined in SQL with said authorization. below is the log from file MSSCONCHECK.LOG

[SQL Native Client]An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When
connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default
settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.
I am still stuck in ?
Can you please verify if i am using right DVDs

Questions of Upgrade from 4.6c to ECC6 SR3
Hello
Is this mandatory that we need to apply the source system(4.6c) support packs to the current support pack level to go to the target release(ECC6.0)?
If we should apply the current support pack level in source system, can we apply them in Shadow phase?
if we can apply in Shadow Phase do we need to do the regression testing?
I went through ECC6.0 upgrade doc and related notes I do not find the exact information that I am looking above.
Thankshttp://service.sap.com/instguides
--> SAP Business Suite Applications
--> SAP ERP
--> SAP ERP 6.0
--> Upgrade
--> Upgrade Documentation - SAP ERP 6.0 SR3
The upgrade guide points to two notes, one of them is 1088904 - Add. info. on upgrading to SAP ECC 6.0 SR3 ABAP, and the section V/ Preparing the Upgrade contains the information.
And no, you should install the before the PREPARE because the prepare will use the actual support packages as base for the upgrade.

I think you have installaed 32bit oracle software and installing 64 bit sap.
Install 64 bit oracle and then 64 bit sap.64 BIT ORACLE will be there in the same package.

Note that with SR3 no 32bit installations are possible, only 64bit.

Be aware that an installed and working Solution Manager is mandatory for the installation (to generate your installation key).

Understand SP stacklevel for ECC6
Hi all,
I've installed a ECC6 SR3 system which came with a default patchlevel.ABAP/BASIS/PI-BASIS were on level 14.
I was to update my system to latest patch level,while checking for patches for SAP-ERP ECC6 the highest patchlevel was 16.
the same was 20 for netweaver.
My question is how to co-relate patch levels based on the SP level in my system.Is this diff for diff solutions of SAP?Yes, offcourse ! It is different for different solutions of SAP
For different solutions, you have to read the release Notes
like, for ECC
Note 774615 - Support Package levels of ERP/ECC installations/upgrades
SAP Note 1064635 - SAP ERP Enhancement Packages: SP Stacks Release Info Note -
I am in the process of upgrading from 4.6C to SR3 on Windows 2003 and MS-SQL 2005, and I noticed that SR3 is only for 64bit, so I am planning to upgrade my 4.6C to SR2 on 32bit and then move the DB to 64bit fresh installation of SR2, and then upgrade it to SR3 on 64 bit Server.
Please let me know if this is what I should be doing?, or is their a better way to do it
Questions.
1. Can I upgrade 4.6C to SR2 and then SR3 on 32bit and then move the DB to fresh installtion of 64bit SR3.
2. SR3 installation is not giving me option to select Unicode or Non-Unicode system, but SR3 installation lets me choose that option.
3. I am missing the Installation Export 2 DVD for SR2, where can I get it or download it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Edited by: Jagraj Dhillon on Jun 3, 2009 10:55 AMYou can circumvent that problem if you don´t use "/tmp" as installation directory but a different directory. I always do a (as root)
mkdir /install
cd /install
<path-to-sapinst>/sapinst
This will also make things easier since you don´t have to step deeply into nested directory structures...
