ECC6 Workflow to EP7 workflow

Hi everybody,
I am still in trouble with ESS : I manage to create a workflow on my ECC6, but I do not know how to use it in the EP7 Portal.
I have been through a lot of documentation on SDN, but nothing ""simple"", can anayone explain me how to use the ECC 6 workflow in the portal for leave request ?
I have understand workflow concept, what miss me is how to implement it in the portal, how to make the link between ECC and EP.

Hi,
For leave request, u will have to activate the WF template 12300111.
Go to SWDD .. enter the WF ID WS12300111, from the menu .. choose GOTO -> Basic Data. Again Goto -> agent assignment . Select the task, select attributes and make it a general task.
Make Approval process also a general task ( 12300097).
After this, u will have to configure UWL in EP.

You will have to maintain parameters for task 12300097 in SWFVISU as well.

I am having issues with a SharePoint Designer workflow. This is a SharePoint 2013 environment, I'm using SharePoint Designer 2013 and working on a SharePoint 2010 workflow. I'm developing this as a SharePoint 2010 workflow because I need to do
impersonation.
The environment and workflow have been running, in the past week, without issue. I went to add a couple steps and now I cannot publish the workflow. While in SharePoint Designer, I receive the error:
"Errors were found when compiling the workflow. The workflow files were saved but cannot be run." When I click the Advanced button on the error dialog, the message is "Unexpected error on server associating the workflow."
That is all the error information I have available; nothing is in the log files.
I have investigated this error and tried the following:
Cleared the SharePoint Designer cache.
The WebApp.UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity was at 7000 so I increased it to 10000. Restarted the servers (which may not have been necessary) and tried again receiving the same error. I then increased it to 30000 with the same error result.
Since this is a large workflow, I tried created a workflow with a single action, write to workflow log, with the same error results.
I reboot the servers and try again and now I can publish the small test workflow but not the original. However, neither will run. When I attempt to manually run the small test workflow on an item, I get an error: "Sorry something went wrong.
An unexpected error occurs. I checked the log files for the correlation id and nothing, nothing was logged for the error. ~arg~
Also, now no workflows can be published in this web app. Not just the one I was working on but none of them!
Does anyone have a clue what has happened to the SharePoint 2010 workflow service? Or some suggestions for me to try?

I appreciate it but if you see my original post, this is a SharePoint 2010 workflow that cannot be published; which has now caused all SharePoint 2010 workflows in the same web app to error.
Your first link is specific to SharePoint 2013 workflows.
Your second link refers to the UserDefinedWorkflowMaximumComplexity. If you read my original post, I've already tried this and I've tried to publish a small (single activity) workflow.
Your third link also refers to large workflows with many approval activities. My workflow doesn't contain any approval activities.
And you fourth link refers to 2013 workflows not 2010.
My issue is with publishing and running a SharePoint 2010 workflow in SharePoint 2013.

Difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow

Hello guys,
Is there any difference between SAP Business Workflow and CRM Workflow?
Are there others workflows types in SAP?
In all SAP Workflow Courses (BIT600, BIT601, BIT603, BIT610) only was talked about SAP Business Workflow, and nothing about CRM Workflow.

There is not much of the differance between CRM workflows and SAP Business workflows..
Workflows are esentially part of Basis (BC) components and hence its the same across all SAP products as all these products have components of Basis(BC) in them...
To Conclude, SAP Busines workflows and CRM workflows are the same things... However when you work on CRM, the BOR objects would be belonging to CRM and not to ECC... However conceptwise , there in no change at all.. If you learn BIT100......, you can also work on CRM workflows..

Delete Workflow items from workflow inbox.

Hello All,
We are using workflow in MSS for Compensation Management. As part of this an email will be sent to the managers when a compensation needs an approval. There are some workflow items under workflow inbox ( SBWP ) . How can I delete emails which I don't want to execute. I don't see any delete button. I can see delete buttons for the documents under inbox, but these emails that I want to delete are under workflow in Inbox.

You are refering to the emails in the inbox ( SBWP ) where I can delete my emails with the help of a delete button. But I am referring to the workflow items that are present under INBOX -> WORKFLOW. There is no delete button on these workflow items. If we execute these workflow items then they will be deleted automatically. I am looking for a solution by which I can delete (clean up) all the workflow items that are not executed from last year so that we can be ready for our compensation for this year.

Oracle I supplier portal workflow -- PO Acknowledgement Workflow

Hi Friends,
Oracle iSupplier Portal uses the following workflows:
■ Supplier Change Order Workflow
■ Update Capacity Workflow
■ Order Modifiers Workflow
■ Advance Shipment Notice (ASN) Workflow
■ Purchase Order Acknowledgement (handled by PO Approval Workflow)
Since EDI 855 refers to PO Ack, we have a req to use EDI for PO Acknowledgement to be done by EDI since the users are unable to acknowledge each single PO.
As mentioned in the user guides, it is said that the Purchase Order Acknowledgement is handled by PO Approval Workflow. So now I need to write a custom logic to capture the acknowledgement from Supplier and kick of the correct workflow to proceed with acceptance/rejection or change order.
Can anyone tell me which workflow if used for this and what is the process name in PO Approval Workflow.

The best way to determine this would be to download the workflow into a wft file from 11.5.8 and 11.5.10 instances and run a simple Unix diff command on these two wft files. I do not believe you will find any documentation that will list differences at this level of detail.

How to trigger a second workflow from a workflow?

Hi All,
          I want your guidance in deciding the process flow of a workflow to be developed.
          We have a scenario in our project where we have to develop a workflow for vendor creation/change
          done through a portal.Now we have designed to do through this 2 workflows.
          First workflow is triggered when the create/change is done in the portal and the entry is made in a
          z table.This is the trigger point of first workflow.
          First workflow will identify all approvals and store them in another z table with all the approval levels needed and the approval groups stored in the z table itself.
          Second flow will trigger on the entry made in this z table.It will read all approvals and send the mails to tha approvers in the respective aproval groups.
Now can you please verify this.Is it possible to trigger a second workflow from a workflow?
If yes then can you please explain the methodology to do the same?
Also if any other approach can be taken,please suggest the same.

First Develop a Z Business OBject (let ZVENDOR) to update the Z table when ever a Vendor is created or Changed.
Now For the first workflow do like this
From the WD application when the user clicks on the SAVE button then call the Function module SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW .
Develop a method in the ZVENDOR to update the Z table.Make the method as background.
Use the method that you have created in the above point in the first workflow but prior to this make sure that you have passed all the required information to the workflow.
Once the table is updated.
For Second Workflow
Create a Change document object for the Ztable.
And trigger the workflow when ever any entry is made or changed in the z table

SAP Business Workflow and The Workflow Reference Model

Hi Experts,
I try to map the Business Workflow with the Workflow Reference Model of WfMC.
Interface 3 represents the communication of SAP's Workflow Engine with "Invoked (external) Applications".
My Questions are:
- which applications, tools can be invoked (Webservices, Group Ware Products)
- and which component realizes Interface 3?
(can I say that interface 3 is realized with different steps like web-activity,
or the normal activity-step (WebFlow Service Handler) ? )
Or is there a certain technology that is representative for realization of interface 3 ? e.g. WfXML or SOAP?

Informatica Start Workflow failed in Workflow Manager

Hi,
I have just completed the installation of oracle BI Apps version 7.9.4 (Chapter 4 & 5 of installtion document). Now I am trying to run workflow using informatica workflow manager and i am getting below error in workflow log.
It says "Cannot find specified parameter file [opt/oracle/informatica/server/SrcFiles/PLP.PLP_SalesOrderLinesFact_InvoicedQty_Update.txt] for session [PLP_SalesOrderLinesFact_InvoicedQty_Update].]."
What does this mean? Do i need to perform any post installation steps? If yes, what are those? Were can i find the information on what needs to be done for loading the data?

How to re-register Workflow Service in workflow manager 1.0?

I am using SharePoint 2013 Management Shell to re-register my Workflow Service due the following error I am having in Sharepoint Designer 2013:

First you have to clean up
The clean up process is pretty easy, but as always I warn you against making changes to your systems if you are unsure of
the repercussions of doing it incorrectly. Additionally, removing / un-registering Workflow Services can halt, break, etc Workflows in the Farm.
Un-register the Workflow Service for the site
Navigate to Central Administration > Security > Manage Trust
Highlight the row by clicking the anchor link, it doesn’t work like other row selections in SharePoint (rather annoyingly)
Click Delete from the ribbon
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all the “unfriendly” entries (assuming you’re not already using some)
Enjoy the nice clean Manage Trust pane
Next register it again with below PS command
Register-SPWorkflowService -SPSite 'https://myhost/mysite' -WorkflowHostUri 'https://workflowhost:12990'

How to set workflow status when workflow manually cancelled?

When i manually cancelled designer workflow, then status comes as 'cancelled'. Instead i need to set different status. How to achieve this?

You can use this action
Set Workflow Status
This action is initially displayed in a workflow step as Set workflow status to Canceled. Use this action to set the status of the workflow. The default options are Canceled, Approved, and Rejected.
You can enter a new status value in the dropdown in the action. Once you enter a status value, the entry is automatically added to the dropdown list. For example, you can enter a status that is more user-friendly and informative than Completed or Canceled,
such as Expense Report Approved.
NOTES
You cannot rename or delete a status value once it has been created. However, you do not have to use it.
A custom status is applicable to the current workflow only, and cannot be used in another workflow.
A workflow cannot use custom status values that you define in the action if the action is used inside an impersonation step.
If the Set Workflow Status action is the last step in your workflow where you have also used a custom value, you can see your custom value in the Status column in
the list upon workflow pausing or completion.
Following is an example of what the action might look like in a workflow step,

I have a quick question for you and it would be great if you can answer me on this.
I'm working through SharePoint Workflow issue (developed using Nintex) that started recently where people are getting workflow error and I don't see issues if I submit it myself. Current error. - "Failed to start workflow. The workflow cannot access
the item that it has been applied to."
I haven't made any major changes to Workflow except for changing email notification content and publishing it. My question is, do I need to publish the rest of the workflows too that are associated to the list after I publish changes of one workflow? Looks
like users have required permissions to submit the form. Please let me know how to get rid of this error.

According to your description, my understanding is that your users got a workflow error, and the workflow is created by Nintex.
For SharePoint Designer workflow, once we do any change in a workflow, we need to re-publish the workflow.
For your issue, I suggest you re-publish the workflow, compare the result.
In addition, as your workflow is created by Nintex and this forum is for SharePoint Designer, I suggest you ask Nintex support or forum for better help. Thanks for your understanding.

It is possible.
At the oracle open world, there was a presentation about it.
At that presentation they used a component where you could define a BPEL process and by one little line of code,you could call that proccess from within a stellent workflow.
I don't know if that component will be released or where you can download it. If you wish, i could send you an e-mail with the component and the doc so you could try it out

Custom Data Type as InArgument in WorkFlow hosted in WorkFlow Manager

We are tyring to host an workflow in a workflow manager which takes Custom Data Type(Customer) as an InArgument. We have configured the AllowedTypes with the corresponding data type and we can able to publish the workflow. When we are trying to consume the
same we are getting serialization issue.
'customer' with data contract name 'Customer:http://schemas.datacontract.org/2004/07/Notificaiton' is not expected. Consider using a DataContractResolver or add any types not known statically to the list of known types - for example, by using the KnownTypeAttribute attribute or by adding them to the list of known types passed to DataContractSerializer.
When we remove the Custom data type as an InArgument everything works fine. We are not sure whether their is an constraint that custom data type cannot be passed asn parameter

According to the error message and the issue can be caused by the edition of your SSRS is not support for the custom data provider. For example the express edition have limitation support on this:
Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2012 .
If your edition is the supportted edition and the issue can be caused by the custom data provider do not necessarily support all the functionality supplied by Reporting Services data processing extensions. In addition, some OLE DB data providers and ODBC
drivers can be used to author and preview reports, but are not designed to support reports published on a report server. For example, the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Jet is not supported on the report server. For more information, see
Data Processing Extensions and .NET Framework Data Providers (SSRS).
If you are running on a 32-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for a 32-bit platform. If you are running on a 64-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for the 64-bit platform. You cannot use a 32-bit data provider wrapped with 64-bit
interfaces on a 64 bit platform.

SharePoint 2013 workflow to SharePoint Workflow

All,
I currently have created a two stage approval process in SharePoint online . But my client wants it in 2010, i am really struggling in converting the workflow to 2010 as some of the actions are nothing like in the 2013.
Please see below my 2013 workflow.
I am kinda lost after the setting the variable to the list.

If you mean that whether it will work in SP2013 then the answer is yes. SP2013 contains old SP2010 workflow platform and the new SP2013 one (which is based on Workflow Manager 1.0). However, code-based workflows are deprecated in SP2013, so it is impossible
to create code-based workflows for 2013 workflow platform. I mean it is possible to use old approach (only with SP2010 workflow platform, which is part of SP2013 and it should work well in SP2013), but it is recommended to use new 2013 workflows. So you can't
import 2010 VS WF to the project with 2013 WF as they have different approaches (in 2013 all WFs are declarative, even VS ones).
