ECCS - Combining statutory and management reporting thru ECCS

Hi,
We use ECCS for Company based consolidations. Our statutory reports are from ECCS and Management reports are from PCA. We want to combine these 2 and use ECCS for both kinds of reporting. However, the challenge we have is we don't have the PC in Company based consolidation.
We want to bring in PC as an attribute to enable management reporting out of ECCS. I am trying different options to pull in PC to ECCS. I have the following questions in this regard.
1. Has any one ever tried this before?
2. What are the best practices (Modify exisitng dimension or create a new one etc..)
3. Is there a brief how-to document that you can share with me.

COnfiguring MSS Iviews ECC 5.0 and BP 60.1.2

HI All,
I am trying to configure reports on portal with ECC 5.0, BP for manager 60.1.2 and portal 7.0.
I am having trouble in locating the right Iview which I cna modify properties to pull the ABAP reports for SAP query.
Can any one tell me which Iview I need to configure. I know for ECC 6.0 it would be laund pad Iview.
The role in ecc 5.0 is com.sap.pct.mss.roles > <b>MANAGER</b>
DId any one work on this enviroment before does ECC 5.0 support Manager reports? if it does can you please give me which Iview I can set the application properties.
Right now, on my staff>reporting > selection criteria> Here, I see no data found. I am sure here for this iview some properties need to be set so data can be visible from sap query. Just want to know exactly what property to change.

search for iview with ID.
com.sap.pct.hcm.rpt_reportselection
open it to edit properties.. open object... select parameter Scenario and enter Scenario name MDT or whatever is applicable.

Install ECC 6.0 and Solution Manager on same server Error (MaxDB/Linux)

I have installed Solution manager on one server and then ECC 6 also in the same server with another SID. during the installation it errored out at phase "SLD configuration" with UME error , J2EE_ADMIN locked etc..we checked the user id and noticed it got locked in ECC 6 system and we unlocked it.
But after the ECC installation the solution manager java engine is not coming up error with "com.sap.security.core.ume.service failed" error. Prior to the ECC installation the Solution Manager J2EE was working.

Are you looking for changes in areas od ABAP reports & SAP query when we upgrade SAP from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 ??

Define source release and target release .

Background job failing - ECC 6.0, Solution Manager 7.0

Dear All,
Four days back, I have installed the Solution Manager 7.0 and ECC 6.0 on
HPUX IA64 hardware with database as Oracle 10.2.0.2.0 (Unicode).
In both server, latest kernel patch has been applied.
The Support package versions are (both server):

While checking the the jobs from SM37, in both the server,

Crystal Report against ECC 6.0 with SSO configured

I created a simple report against the ECC 6.0 Article table and saved it to InfoView. I can run the report fine, but when others run it they get an error stating the logon parameters are incomplete. We are in the process of configuring single sign on and have created other Crystal Reports going against ECC 6.0 with Business Views where SSO turned on in the data connection. Everyone can refresh those reports with no problems. Is their some report setting that needs to be set for Crystal Reports using a data source directly against ECC 6.0 tables?

We have multiple reasons for implementing SNC.
The main reason we have enabled SNC is to simply the users experience while working in the SAP environment. We are going live this month with Plant Maintenance, SRM, Project System, General Ledge and Asset Management reporting cubes in our BW environment as well as in our ECC 6.0 environment. We have set up SAP Portal and have created iviews to BOBJ folders and reports. Users are authenticated once by logging on to the Lan. Once logged on we would like them to seemlessly run SAP transactions and Business Objects reports through the SAP Portal based on their job function. Each user has security setup in BOBJ and SAP to allow access to transactions and reports appropriate for their job function.
We have three types of SAP reports and data connectors.
- One set of Crystal reports go against ECC 6.0 through Business Views with a Data Connection set up for SSO.
- One set of WEBI reports goes against BW queries though Universe Connections set up for SSO.
- One set of Crystal reports go directly against ECC 6.0 tables.
We currently have two issues:
1) The Crystal reports going directly against ECC 6.0 tables are returning the error
Error - The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect.
2) When we send a link to any report using OpenDocument if the user is not logged on to InfoView they get a rather long error message:
Account Information not recognized: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on. Please contact your system admin....
Our hardware and server setup is a load balancer connected to a cluster of two Tomcat servers connected to two BOBJ servers.

How to generate CCMS report from ECC system

I have implemented CCMS between my SAP ECC system 6.0 and SAP SRM7.0. How can i generate CCMS report for my SRM system from ECC system. Can any one please tell me the steps to configure CCMS between my ECC (CEN) system and SRM 7.0 ABAP system.

Using the Open Catalog Interface (OCI) between SAP-ECC 6.0 and SAP-MDM

Hello ASUG Community.
I'm working on an SAP-MDM project where we will configure the OCI interface between SAP-ECC 6.0 and SAP-MDM. The business requirement will be to punch out to SAP-MDM's catalog from SAP-ECC for expensed items (e.g., no material master record exists in SAP-ECC).
The data that will be returned to SAP-ECC will be purchase price info, material group, short text, & our global SAP-MDM item number.
The question I've been trying to design around is "where to store the SAP-MDM item number"?
I've looked into creating a custom filed on EKPO but now feel that a configured text field will be the best solution from an SAP-ECC point of view (less effort on the SAP-ECC side from a development perspective, no need to regenerate the EKPO table, etc.).
The question I'd like to pose to ASUG is.... Does anyone have experience or an opinion to offer using this functionality? It seems that I will have to code in a user exit or BAdi to insure that the SAP-MDM item numbers are returned to the appropriate text field on my POu2019s. Or can this be done using the standard OCI functionality?
I found OSS note 1347656 which references BADI "ME_CATALOG_INTERFACE" but I'm not sure if this right path to go down or if this would be the correct place to code non-conforming OCI mapping requiremetns.
Any insight would be most appreciated.

I would suggest you create a new field for this as you may require thois going forward for reporting as well. Text fields are difficult to report.

Problems in Z Reports in ECC 6.0

Hi,
We r upgrading the SAP from 4.7 E to ECC 6.0 and facing few problems in Z Reports in New Version..Like...
1)..Incorrect value in the dynamic table..
2)..Literals that take up more than one line not permitted.
3)..Missing parameter with PERFORM.
4)..Error in ASSIGN statement in program "SAPLSDSD".
5)..Not Unicode Convertible.
Please help me out of these problems..

regarding your problems the solution is that in ECC 6.0 the programs should be unicode compatible.the fields which are declared with type
were no more allowed in 6.0.

R/3 upgrade from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and BW upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0

Is there a reason to upgrade Solution Manager from 3.2 to 4.0 when upgrading R/3 from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and BW upgrade from 3.5 to 7.0?
And when in current situation Unicode UTF8 is used, could that give problems during / after the upgrade?

There is not a must to upgrade also your solman 3.2 when you upgrade your satellites, only consider if you need the solman diagnostic or not and also that the new functionality in solman 4.0.
Which system is unicode, the satellite?
There is also not problems having a non-unicode solman with unicode satellites and the other, having a unicode-solman "linked" to unicode-satellites.

[HELP] Could you please give me a solution to BW reports of ECC purchasing

I want to do some customized spend analysis reports of MM purchasing.The purchasing data will be retrived from 2 source systems ( 1 is ECC 6.0 and the other is R/3 4.6c ) And these reports should be viewed by "commodity" , however, there is no commodity code maintained in material master data.
So my solution is :
1. to find a idle field in material master data to maintain this "commodity", this could be flexible for me, however, it's not easy to push other guys to do this. ( I don't have the authority to do the master data maintainence.)
2. to maintain a mapping table in BW, and material and commodity(also description)should be the fields of this table. However, I don't think it's a good way. Because, this table is not easy to maintain and synchronized.

first things first .. if they want a report by commodity .. ask them to maintain it ..
1. if you can make the guys maintain commodity in a idle field, you can as well make them enhance the material master and add a new field ... its upto the flexibility u have
2. i dont think thats a bad idea.. but i would prefer somebody maintain the same mapping table in source system and ask them to RFC it to BI .. so that u can use it as a look up table ...

Report Painter ECC 6.0 Issue.

We are running on ECC 6.0 and we are having a very critical problem in
a report painter report.This issue is very urgent for us here.
The description is as follows:
We are running a Report Painter report in GR55 and executing it.The
report has cost center data on the different company codes which are
the columns in the report. Somehow we are getting the same data
displayed for all the company codes.
Initially when i tried to run the report , it gave me the message
Message no. KCRP026
Characteristic 'BUKRS' does not exist and will be deleted from the form.
In our previous version 4.6c we never had any problem.This problem came
after the upgarde was done.

ECC 6.0 HCM / Crystall Reports

Hello :
I would like to know if we can use CR2008 with HCM in some scenarious instead of Standard SQ01/SQ02/SQ03 and infosets queries.
If am aware that we need ODBC if we connect with Access or any other source.
How do we connect ECC 6.0 with Crystall reports.
Can some one provide me steps to connect Crystall reports to use tables in ECC 6 eg: any Tables in T OCE SE16 with PA0001 etc.
