Ecm and gmp-ecm conflict

Hi all, this is my first post on this forum. I'm not sure where to post this and was afraid to post this to package-bugs so I'll try here. Tried to find mention of this problem but didn't find, so here it goes:
I encountered a package conflict between packages ecm (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … 86_64/ecm/) and gmp-ecm (https://www.archlinux.org/packages/comm … 4/gmp-ecm/). Both wants to install executable "ecm".

Yupyup, I can confirm. Time to report this as a bug.

  • Tabs and Ask Toolbar Conflict

Sorry, but I am new to this forumn and don't know how to post a comment that may save time for some folks. About a week ago I posted a problem concerning creating multpple tabs and saving them. I cna't find that posting again, but the answer I got worked until the next update.
At that time I was using FF3.6.14 and the Ask toolbar. Removing it as suggested worked. Later I installed the FF 3.6.15 update and all still worked. Last night I recieved an update of the Ask toolbar.
Upon installing that latest toolbar, I again had the same problem with tabs.
It would appear that the lastest version of FF and Ask still conflict.

  • Window has detected and IPS Address Conflict

To Whom this my concern,  I keep getting this message, which, I had mention in the subject line.  I have reset my wifi box and the box, that Charter gave me quit a few times. But, this message keeps on coming up, for some odd reason or another.
I was just wondering.  I had a Hp Lap Top 2000, that some one had stoolen off me, quit a few months, ago. I reported it to the police station and HP and they said that they could not do anything about it. Because, I absolutely lost my serial number, that I had written down.
But, I used the same email addresses and Passwords on both computes. So, I was just a wondering if the person could be useing the lap top, that I had gotten stoolen from me and this is the way, this is why this message keeps popping up on my computer.
Oh, I even called up Charter and mention it to them and they absolutely could not figure out what is going on either. So, I just thought, that I would text it on the internet.  To see if any one absolutely knew what was going on.
Well, if you want to get in touch with me.  My email address it [Personal Information Removed]  or

    Hi @Rockiebates1949 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your Window has detected and IPS Address Conflict on your Home Network. This error message indicates that another computer on the network is using the same IP address that your computer is using. Each computer on a network must have a unique IP address. To fix this problem, run the Network troubleshooter.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • PCI-E graphics card and system memory conflict.

    Hello,
I have a bit of a strange problem with my new system build.
All my parts work fine when used by them selves.
    MSI KN8 diamond.
    Athlon 3200 64bit 939 Winchester.
    Crucial Ballistix PC4000 memory.
    Inno3D 6800GT PCI-E
    Thermaltake purepower 680W.
The problem arises when I try and use both the memory and graphics card card at the same time, the system does not post stating a memory problem.  I know both work as I’m able to post when either is removed i.e when running with a standard PCI graphics card or when the memory is swapped. I’ve checked out a lot of forums over the last 2 weeks and I know there are a lot of people out there running with the same memory.  I’ve tried under clocking the memory with no success. Can anyone shed any light on this problem as I’ve never had a conflict between a graphics card and memory before.
    Thanks John

Need to make a couple of changes as there appears to be a possible issue with the loading of the Optimized Default setting in the bios, and I quote from MSI:
     Quote
After loading the Optimized Default, the memory setting values will be optimized to achieve better performance. It is, however, likely to cause problems of compatibility.
Which seems to be the exact issue you are experiencing.  First thing I would do is to manually set your vdimm to 2.8v in the bios.  This will make sure that your memory is getting the correct voltages as the AUTO setting usually sets memory to 2.5v.  This alone could eliminate your problem, but I think you'll have to comb through your memory timings and reset them, (Crucial lists 2.5-4-4-8 @ DDR500 speeds, so I'd try 2-3-3-6 or 2.5-3-3-6 for DDR400 speeds).
There is also an official bios 1.1 for your board, and a beta (5.01) from the Diamond Club.  I'd stay with the official releases for the time being (until you get your board up and running properly).

  • Internal and Public DNS conflict breaks mail

    History:
We set up a new Mac Mini Server to replace our existing Server. The Mac Mini Server is setup behind a Time Capsule, which acts as our router and DHCP server. It also acts as our firewall on the public IP address and forwards mail to our internal server. Our situation is almost identical to the example situation on page 18 to 19 in the 'Getting Started' guide.
Our ISP acts as our DNS server and they host our public website. They also used to host our mail, but we have now moved the mail to our new in-house server. We asked our ISP to update their MX records to point to our static public IP address. Public DNS records for server.mydomain.com also resolve to this IP address.
When we originally set up the new mac mini server, the ISP had not yet updated the MX records. I am wondering if this affects how the Server sets up DNS on the local server machine?
    Issue:
The local server machine on the local LAN is called server.mydomain.com, which resolves via local DNS (hosted by our server) to the server's internal IP address. (The local DNS server was setup automatically by the Server during initial installation / setup.) This conflicts with with public DNS records which identify server.mydomain.com with our public IP address at 205.200.19.225. This somehow causes confusion for the server which consequently seemingly randomly resets our domain (mydomain.com) and host name (server.mydomain.com) settings under Mail settings - which breaks our mail service. (We then edit these to the correct settings and all works again.)
I spoke to an Apple tech and they advised that we reinstall the Server operating system, using a local server name that differs from the public name. e.g. server.mydomain.lan (local) vs. server.mydomain.com (public).
*This may seem like a dumb question*: Would it be easier to keep our local host and DNS set up to server.mydomain.com and then rather have our ISP change the records for our public address / IP to mail.mydomain.com or public.mydomain.com? If we could make the change via the ISP's records versus our own, then it would save us a lot of work.
*A second potentially dumb question:* Since we rely on our ISP for DNS name servers, could we delete / stop the local DNS server for the local network and just use straight IP addresses instead?
    *Plan of Action:*
Assuming that there is not an easy fix via the ISP's DNS records, then I'll reinstall the operating system and use server.mydomain.lan as the local machine and domain name. If I do this, then what should I be using as the domain and host name settings in mail? .com or .lan?
Should there be any need to manually configure DNS settings to make Mail work?

Mr Hoffman and Corbywan - thanks for the interesting and educational discussion. I must admit that I am still a bit confused and would appreciate any further help in understanding this issue!
    *My situation:*
    - Server on a LAN, which sits behind a Time Capsule router.
    - The Time Capsule router serves DHCP and Internet to the LAN and sits on our public static IP Address.
    - Our ISP has set up MX and domain records to forward public requests for our domain to our static IP address.
    - Time Capsule acts as our firewall and forwards Mail and other incoming services to our internal server via port forwarding.
    - Local DNS service is provided by the local server so that it can provide services to the local network. Non local requests are forwarded to the ISP DNS service.
    *The problem*
We seem to have established that Snow Leopard Server breaks when the internal domain name matches the public domain name, because of conflict between the internal and public DNS which resolve to different IP addresses for the same domain.
    *The solution*
I am looking for the easiest and most basic way to fix this problem. My understanding is that the simplest would be to reinstall our Snow Leopard Server to a new and different local domain name.
I am thinking of using server.example.lan for our local LAN domain name - which would be resolved to our private IP address via local DNS on the local server. I would be keeping server.example.com for our public domain name - which would be resolved to our public IP address, which would be forwarded from the Time Capsule to the internal server.
Now where I start getting confused is this: If Snow Leopard Server requires a Fully Qualified Domain Name to do things like send mail, then do I need to register my internal domain name? And how would this resolve from a public DNS server to the internal private IP address? Or is it more an issue where as long as the internal (albeit 'fake') domain name does not conflict with an existing public domain name?
    *Other items:*
After setup, I will verify that Snow Leopard Server has setup our local DNS correctly for local DNS service.
If I understand correctly, I would set up Mail Settings - 'Domain Name' as the local domain name: i.e. example.lan and I would set up the Host Name as server.example.lan - is this correct? Would this work if these are not FQDN?
How does the mail server reconcile these local domain names with the public domain names? I assume that I need to check the box at Mail - Settings - Advanced - Hosting: "Include server's domain as local host alias" ? Or would I manually add an alias to the Local Host Aliases under the same tab?
    Thanks!

  • Nvidia and libgl-dri conflict

    Hi,
I have a problem with pacman, where whenever I try to install the nvidia driver (pacman -Sy nvidia), it says the following:
    :: nvidia conflicts with libgl-dri. Remove libgl-dri? [Y/n]
    Remove: libgl-dri
    Targets: nvidia-1.0.8178-11
    Total Package Size: 5.9 MB
    Proceed with upgrade? [Y/n]
    checking package integrity... done.
error: this will break the following dependencies:
    libgl-dri: is required by mesa
I did a google search and came up with a bug report on the problem. It's revealed this is a problem with pacman and that it was fixed in CVS. The temporary fix listed at the bottom lets me install the nvidia package, but it gives me another problem. Whenever I try to run a program that requires libgl, it spits out the following error:
[insert app name here]: error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I'm desperate to get this working, so is there a way I get can the latest pacman from cvs? Or is there a way to let programs know that I'm using nvidia drivers for libgl?
BTW, I'm using testing packages e.g. xorg 7. This is the only problem I've had so far.

Ugh...I made another partition on my drive for testing arch, and it's absolutley impossible to bypass this problem. The thing I did before doesn't work anymore. Now, when I try to do pacman -S nvidia, it'll install but it spits out the following:
/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libGL.so is empty, not checked.
/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libnvidia-cfg.so.1 is empty, not checked.
/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libnvidia-cfg.so is empty, not checked.
/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libXvMCNVIDIA-dynamic.so.1 is empty, not checked.

/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libGL.so.1.0.8178 is empty, not checked.
/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libnvidia-tls.so.1.0.8178 is empty, not checked.
/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libnvidia-cfg.so.1.0.8178 is empty, not checked.

/sbin/ldconfig: File /usr/lib/libGLcore.so.1.0.8178 is empty, not checked.
And as before, when I try to run a GL app
[insert app name here]: error while loading shared libraries: libGLU.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
The bug report on this says it's fixed in cvs...so can someone tell me how to get pacman from cvs?

  • 10.4.8 and HP Printer conflict

I'd like to report a big, honking, piece of worthless equipment in my closet... My HP Color Laserjet 4500 was rendered inoperable after the recent update to OS 10.4.8. I called HP but they couldn't help me. It is clearly a driver/system conflict. The latest driver on the HP site was released last April. I tried Gutenprint, but it doesn't work either. The printer prints blank sheet after blank sheet and won't stop till I unplug it. Any ideas??
    Thanks,
    Shari

OK...every time I rage at Apple, it turns out that there was a way out after all. This time, I went to the HP website, found the Knowledge Base (or whatever their's is called) document that walked me through the steps whenever "your printer is printing multiple blank documents."
I believe the mechanical shutter for the printing drum was stuck. I did a number of things to the printer, among them was tweaking the shutter by hand. Anyway, after following the steps and then reinstalling the printer software. Restarting. All is well in my world between my Macs and my 7 year old HP 4500n Color Laser Printer.
I hope everyone else has the same good fortune.
    Thanks.

  • Mail and Internet Connection conflict

I have a VPN PPTP connection running. Most of my other Mac internet apps run fine (Safari, Fetch), for that matter Mail can read new emails. The problem is that Mail won't send mail until I close the VPN connection. I figure this is a port conflict, Mail output and Internet Connection using the same ports, is there a way to change the port either is using? If so, any idea what I should change it to?

  • Oc4j, jdeveloper and apache, port conflicts ?

    Hi all,
I am currently in the process of deploying my first EJB on Oracle 9i AS.
I have successfully installed oc4j.zip and set the login credentials.
I am however, unable to connect to the index page of the OC4J server from any computer besides the server.
My URL is http://prams_nt_03:6666 and this works on the server. The reason for it being 6666 is that I have changed it to avoid conflicts with the oc4j server. I have changed it in the default-web-site.xml file. There is a danger of conflict because I want to access the OC4J server behind Apache.
I have also created the oc4j.conf file, which httpd.conf looks at :
    <IfModule mod_proxy.c>
    ProxyRequests On
    ProxyPass /servlet/ http://prams_nt_03:6666/servlet/
    ProxyPassReverse /servlet/ http://prams_nt_03:6666/servlet/
    </IfModule>
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I need to do ? Maybe I need to specify somewhere else that I am using port 6666 ?
Also, another point is that I am unable to deploy from JDeveloper, the connection test to the application server fails with the error message : Disconnected.
My server is Win NT sp6, my AS is 1.0.2.2.2a.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

    Hiya Debu,
    1) Are OHS and OC4J running on the same server ?
    - Yes, along with 9i DB rel 1
    2) What ports are used by OHS and OC4J ?
The ports are 8888 for both, I have removed the setting for the OC4j Server, which means the OC4J server is not working behind Apache.
    3) Can you go to OC4J's homepage directly i.e. http://myhost:6666 ?
I cannot go using hostname, but can using I.P address
    4) Can you go to OHS (aka Apache)'s homepage directly ?
    Yes, using I.P and hostname
    5) Do you get any errors during startup of OC4J or OHS ? You will an error port already in use error when a port is used by someone else ?
None that I can think of.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it could be a DNS problem ! I will configure that now. Thanks for your help, you're a star !

  • [SOLVED] gnupg and gnupg2 in conflict after trying to upgrade

    Hey there!
I just tried to update my system with the regular
    sudo pacman -Syu
    and ran into the following:
:: The following packages should be upgraded first :
    pacman
:: Do you want to cancel the current operation
:: and upgrade these packages now? [Y/n] y
    resolving dependencies...
    warning: dependency cycle detected:
warning: udev will be installed before its util-linux dependency

error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :: gcc: requires gcc-libs=4.6.2-6
if i try to upgrade my system or install any new packages i am asked to upgrade pacman which results in the error above.. hitting "y" will result in the message above, hitting "n" will just abort the update..
i found one thread with a similar issue ( https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=139229 ), but i didn't really get any further with it.. besides that i found a pastebin ( http://pastebin.com/WBgXmSqJ ) with the exact same issue, but i couldn't find any other links or references to the said pastebin on the web..
i would be happy to supply further information but i am not sure about what kind of information is useful here..
    tougle
edit: after finding this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=139412 (dealing with gcc-libs and not gnupg which i was searching for) i upgraded pacman by itself as Dav suggested.. another pacman -Syu outputs the following:
    :: Starting full system upgrade...
    :: Replace gnupg2 with core/gnupg? [Y/n]
since i am not using gnupg anyway and the replacement should be due to the implementation of the keyring functionality in the latest pacman version, i am assuming i cant do any harm with that replacement? i will just postpone the update, wait for possible replies and do the update tomorrow if no warnings popped up here.. after i upgraded i will mark the thread as solved.. sorry for the thread.. it appears i have been searching in the wrong places..
edit2: as suggested by Gcool and karol i just agreed to replace gnupg2 after updating pacman by itself and, as expected, it fixed the issue nicely. thanks!

Packages sometimes get merged or split, renamed, moved from one repo to another or dropped to the AUR.
Different issues may require different approaches to solve / make sure you're doing it right. Usually it's OK to just agree to what pacman suggests.
If you're curious what happened, check one of the recent commits to the gnupg package [1] that talks about fixing a bug [2]

  • FW400 HD and focusrite interface conflicts

I have a iomega FW400 external HD and focusrite saffire pro 24 DSP interface. Both of these unit operate on their own fine. But if they are both connected either daisy chain or via the FW800 and FW400 ports of the rear on my iMac (same bus I know), the interface sometimes loses FW connection.
I think probably this is a conflict which could be resolved simply by getting a different FW400/800 Hard drive. What drives does any other focusrite users use, or any other suggestions to resolve this issue?
I'm using logic pro, but the problem still happens with garageband, or even just using itunes through the interface to my monitors.
    I have an 2007 iMac 2.4hz 4Gb ram.

I can only relate to you my good experience using a FF400 on the 400 port and a LaCie HD on the 800. Never a glitch, despite my macbook's architecture sporting only one firewire buss !
In theory, you should be able to use both at at once.
ps. i can even use the FF400 on bus power, with the 800 HD churning away quite happily.

  • Isync and Palm conduit conflicts

I use iCal for my calendar and Address Book to maintain my contact info, but I prefer the Palm to-do list over iCal's - is it possible for me to sync this combination of applications? I was once able to do this (by moving conduits disabled by iSync back into my Palm HotSync conduits folder), but this is no longer working. The (apparently) relevant portion of my HotSync Log shows:

    - a Palm Treo 680
    Any advice?
    thank you!

It is actually possible to do what you want, but an an additional step is required since the release of Mac OS X 10.4.
    A quick review…
What you want to do essentially violates the unwritten 'rule of conduits' which states that you cannot simultaneously synchronize a given data type with more than one conduit. iSync will synchronize contact, event and task data only with the Address Book and iCal. In general, if you wish to synchronize such data with the Palm Desktop, you must cease using iSync and revert to the Palm Desktop.
It is possible, however, to configure your machine to synchronize contacts with the Palm Desktop and events and tasks with iCal, or—as you wish—contacts with the Address Book and events and tasks with iCal.
In order to do so, launch iSync and select your Palm device in the main window. In the drop-down pane which appears, be sure that you disable event and task synchronization by deselecting the Calendars category, but leave the Contacts category enabled. Then quit iSync, and remove the com.apple.isync.plist file from this folder:
    Macintosh HD:Users:<username>:Library:Preferences
Do not remove the co-located com.apple.isync.registry.plist file.
[Don't launch iSync again until you have completed the steps outlined below.]
Make sure that these conduits are in the active Conduits folder:
    • Calendar Conduit
    • Datebook Conduit
    • Tasks Conduit
    • ToDo Conduit
NOTE: While this has nothing to do with your issue—if you have not already done so—move the Memo Conduit and Memos Conduit back into the active folder [from which the iSync Palm Conduit installation process previously removed them] to restore memo synchronization to the Palm Desktop.
In addition, the iSync Palm Conduit should be in the active Conduits folder.
These conduits should not be, and instead should be stored in the Disabled Conduits folder:
    • Address Conduit
    • Contacts Conduit
Once these conduits are arranged in the active and disabled folders, you may launch iSync and it will synchronize your contacts with the Address Book, and your events and tasks will be synchronized with the Palm Desktop instead of with iCal.

  • HT5219 thunderbolt, matrox, and esata drive conflicts

Hi I have a new 2012 imac 27" with two thunderbolt ports, I am using this for video editing, I also purchased the following devices:
    1. matrox mini max .h264 I/O accelerator
    2. laCie dual raid enclosure
    3. sonnet echo pro to esata converter using the sonnet 6gb/s tempo express 34 card
all items are thunderbolt, I am on the latest 1.21 thunderbolt firmware, the latest matrox 3.11 firmware, the sonnet and lacie do not use any firmware.
Yesterday, I spent all day doing a complete wipe and reinstall of 10.7.4, I only installed Adobe Premiere Pro 6.01, with the associated apps. - encoder, bridge,
and prelude. I checked every library, system folder, extension, and preference and made sure nothing was in the system. System is 3.4ghz i7 imac 32gb of ram 1tb internal, 6790 graphics card with 2gb of vram.
I then loaded the latest matrox driver and restarted..
The issue at hand; I have recently in the last 7 days purchased all the items listed above to replace on of my two 2012 macbook pro 17" 2.4ghz laptops.
Using the matrox with one firewire drive was no problem, adding the echo pro with esata caused the matrox to crash, upon a restart of the computer with the two items installed via thunderbolt, premiere pro would crash on start up I could not start premiere pro without disconnecting the thunderbolt.
I also tested the same matrox with the lacie and tried using the dual port of the lacie thunderbolt to run the matrox, all tests resulted in either premiere pro crashing or the matrox not working. I even encountered an odd situation where the matrox would not power up. (I bought two matrox units) I was able to replicated the non powering up on both and thought both were damaged.
I did various tests over a two day period, using matrox and sonnet tech support, the only possible issue could have been my adobe creative suite version 5 and 6 being installed which is why I did the complete clean install.
I am 99% certain the issue is either the imac only has one bridge board and is split for looks, or the thunderbolt software has a major conflict with matrox's firmware. I was able to locate a certain bug with their software and the facetime camera which is now posted on their website..
I need an apple tech to tell me with certainty.
1 does the imac has two separate thunderbolt ports.
2 if each port allows 2 devices would that include items like the lacie having it's own 2 port setup.
3 would there be any chance the thunderbolt cables themselves need any kind of software updates
    4. is there anything I can do to resolve this
    Thanks David

I don't have a Thunderbolt machine but according to this article, Windows doesn't support Thunderbolt at all. That means Apple had to add Thunderbolt support in order for it to work even as it does. How would a Dell have solved your problem?
